Pros: Nothing
Cons: has no pop at all
Pros: Has great pop, minimal vibration and comes off the bat great! Love it!
Cons: none
Pros: Has great pop, very balenced. The design look amazing. This bat will work for contact and power hitters.
Cons: Has a break in time.
Pros: Very balanced bat with large sweet spot and ton of pop. Truly a great deal even at $400. Minimal vibration in handle and pop of neon makes it the best looking bat on the field.
Cons: All my teammates want to use it.
Pros: The Bat has a lot of pop, I haven't even broken mine in yet, and the ball still jumps off the bat. There isn't any vibration, and for being a bit end loaded, it still gets around quickly.
Cons: None!
Pros: great bat
Cons: none at this point
Pros: I bought a 32/29 version of the Prime. This bat has MAD pop!! My first at bat with the Prime 916 I hit a ball of the end of the barrel and it still went 290 feet(It left a mark at the end so I knew it hit the end of the bat). I've had zero vibration and so has my teammates. This bat feels way better than the CF7 and new Mako. It's the best of both worlds having a huge barrel and a light swing weight! The barrel is the same size as the Mako but swings lighter (32/29). The sweet spot is also large. The bat sounds amazing (sounds more solid) compared to the the CF7 and Mako as those bats have a metal ting to it when you square the ball up. The sick color way and Lizard Skins grip just tops it off!!!!
Cons: There is nothing bad about this bat!
Pros: i feel more confident than ever swinging this bat
Cons: everyone on the team borrows it
Pros: none
Cons: bat broke instally fist 50 swings
Pros: swings light for bbcor; balanced, not handle weighted has great look, colors and graphics are eye-catching sounds exactly like a wood bat very little sting on mis-hits has just enough feedback through the handle to still provide some feel for the contact large sweet spot
Cons: expensive don't know durability yet, so holding my breath
Pros: great pop and no vibration...looks sweet too.
Cons: i cant decide if this bat is endloaded or balanced. it feels weird to me and i keep grounding out with it but not with other bats. i dont like it but could be just me.
Pros: lots of pop very little vibration feels good and very balenced out weight distribution
Cons: takes a little bit to break in
Pros: the bat is very balanced
Cons: none
Pros: very durable with tons of pop, I would recommend this for contact hitters, lizard skin is sick, feels good when the ball jumps off the bat
Cons: none yet, besides it takes about 200 hits to break in
Pros: The new Louisville Slugger is as solid of a product as I have seen. A well balanced weapon
Cons: none
Pros: The bat has great pop! It has no vibration what so ever. It is a great bat and best bat that I will probably use in my lifetime. I highly suggest this bat to people just getting into BBCOR or high school.
Cons: None other than if you are left handed like me the grip is twisted for a right handed person, but you just have to twist it back no big deal.
Pros: great pop off the bat, great speed through the hitting zone, feels great in the hands and very well balanced helping the batter maintain posture through the zone.??????
Cons: none . The only con would be you not buying it.
Pros: Great bat, lots of pop, almost no vibration. Graphics are awesome and good feel.
Cons: After about 3 weeks of using this bat the barrel had a wiggle when I shook it. I sent it bat to louisville and I'm getting another one. Hope it doesn't happen again.
Pros: the bat a tons of pop but ends up breaking within a few weeks
Cons: ends up breaking within a few weeks
Pros: No vibration and is very balanced.
Cons: Has very little pop.
Pros: Good pop. Little to no vibration. Very balanced. And just an overall good bat.
Cons: Haven't used it in a game but in the cage I haven't found any cons
Pros: I loved it for the first two days I had it, I hit it far and there was a lot of pop
Cons: After two days of use the bat died and there was a rattle inside of it. I was extremely discouraged and returned it for a full refund. If it breaks that easily I have no desire to spend $399 and try it again. It has put a bad fast in my mouth for the product
Pros: Like the style and the sound the ball makes when contact with the bat.
Cons: No cons.
Pros: this bat is amazing, the look is so appealing, the ball soars off the bat, no vibration at all & the sound is just beautiful.
Cons: none at all.
Pros: Huge Sweet spot! Slightly more end-loaded than a Demarini CF6/7/8, which results in a little more "pop" and further fly-balls. However, this is not a end-loaded bat..it is balanced. Young players used to a BBCOR Mako may find this heavy. The contact feels good with minimal sting, and the sound is solid. Distinctive coloring means I can find it easy.
Cons: The Lizard skin grip is cool, but it started unraveling quickiy (maybe because I'm a lefty). I replaced it with ordinary Easton grip and wrapped in the opposite direction. I am keeping my eye on the barrel as I've heard that it may get loose from the other pieces in the bat.
Pros: Good pop, balanced swing weight.
Cons: After 10-15 swings, the lizard skin grip came off. Appears that it was wrapped with minimal overlap. Had to buy another one.
Pros: The bat is very balanced and has amazing pop . I hit a ball 345 ft with this bat and hit extremely consistent.Dont know about durability only had this bat one month. This is a top of the line Bbcor bat.
Cons: No cons at all so far
Pros: I hit 17 home runs with this during fall ball
Cons: This bat has no pop. If I wasn't so yoked I wouldn't of hit those home runs handle broke as well. very disappointed
Pros: great pop and balance. can be used for contact and power hitters. more pop than cf8 and mako. soft material creates good backspin.
Cons: The first one i received arrived broken. This bat is prone to a disconnect in the handle and barrel making the barrel spin from the handle. If used in the cold the glue connecting the rubber tru three piece in the center of the bat will start to break off from the bat. If you are a left handed hitter the rubber piece made to taper off the handle located underneath the lizard skin will start to unravel the lizard skin in which reveals the rubber taper object. You will need to redo the handle if you are a left handed batter and need to continue to return the bat once the barrel of the bat begins to spin.
Pros: We have recently purchased the 916 as our team bat, and I will say. It's probably the hottest bat I have swung. As a 5'10, 150 pound baseball player I'm swinging the 33 inch bat. I was hitting the ball further than most of the kids on my team. I suggest getting this bat.
Cons: None
Pros: Great performance....when it is not broke.
Cons: First the grip came undone. I am a lefty and the grip is designed for a righty. Then about two weeks later the handle came loose.
Pros: Great balance and swing control. My 14yr old loves the balance of this bat. He's say's it swings better then his 5150. Great pop, second at bat put it over the field wall. Very happy with the purchase.
Cons: None yet
Pros: Design, Feel and Pop
Cons: None
Pros: bat feels very balenced and has tons of pop
Cons: none
Pros: lots of pop right out of the wrappertried the mako cf8 and combats this is by far the best
Cons: none
Pros: NONE
Cons: I have broken this bat 3 times. It is not worth the money you are going to pay for it. Trust Me
Pros: Little Vibration, lots of pop
Cons: Just purchased this bat on Monday evening and the bat broke today (Friday) just after 4 practices. After spending $400 on a bat, you would think it would last longer than 4 days. We are returning it for a Mako.
Pros: can't find any
Cons: had the bat 10 days cracked in the middle now my son's varsity season starts and no bat!!!
Pros: Great feel! Love the grip! No vibration! Tons of POP! My very first hit with this bat was a 425 ft. bomb. Since I started using this bat a couple of weeks ago, I am hitting over .500 with 1 Homer, 2 Triples, and 5 Doubles. I LOVE THIS BAT!!!
Cons: None
Pros: I borrowed this bat from my friend for an at bat. I hit a home run with it the first time I used it. I'm in love.
Cons: Absolutely nothing
Pros: Good Feel Great Pop Last forever
Cons: It kinda vibrates
Pros: bats has good pop for BBCOR and nice balance
Cons: we bought 3 Prime 916 bats for 3 different players. the big issue with all 3 bats is the barrel is starting to rotate. you can actually hold the bat in your hands and rotate the barrel. we call Louisville and the rep told us the barrel will rotate 1/8 inch that was acceptable. i told the rep i looked at the bat features and description and not once did they mention the barrel would rotate or spin on this bat. I don't think it has affected performance. the players are saying it feels funny when they swing the bat. we also have a 915 from last year and that barrel does not rotate or spin. if you read the bat features from just bats it does not mention rotation or spinning barrel. just wondering if anybody else is having this issue.
Pros: It felt level but the bat has a small sweet spot.
Cons: small sweet spot, no pop
Pros: Great pop, super balanced, light weight!
Cons: At the point where the barrel and handle meet. The bat swivels or twists. Me and 2 other teammates have had these problems with our bat. Is the bat supposed to do this?
Pros: great grip lots of pop game ready out of wrapper
Cons: everyone wants to use it
Pros: Great pop and feel
Cons: Bat broke after 3 games. Paid for shipping to return to manufacturer for replacement. It broke during BP. 3 more bats later(and yes, 3 more shipping charges) LS just gave me my original purchase money back. I ended up paying 65 dollars to rent a broken bat. Great while it lasts then worthless!!!
Pros: Great bat, hits the ball a long way.
Cons: At first i thought it was broken because the barrel felt kind of lose. i called louisssvile slugger and found out it is actually supposed to do that. The Barrel feels lose due to the 3 piece technology. According to louisville slugger the barrel should not move more then 1/8 of an inch.
Pros: Good balanced swing weight, has good pop. got a $15 credit for the grip.
Cons: Less then 30 days the grip is falling apart, and already signs of the barrel starting to turn. This could be a great bat, but they have some design flaws they need to work out. Does not appear the bat will make it through the spring season.
Pros: it has good pop. i like it a lot
Cons: it feels like the end if the barrel will come off
Pros: NONE - our bat is a complete dud.
Cons: We compared our bat to others on the team and it clear ours was not made correctly. Need to ship back to company and that is a pain
Pros: Great Pop and Nice Power
Cons: Nothing
Pros: This bat has good pop and the ball really flies off.
Cons: As mentioned in other reviews, the adhesive holding the handle thru piece has come loose from the barrel after only 45 days of use. Pretty disappointed considering the 915 prime we bought last year is still in good shape. We are submitting a warranty claim but would purchase a Rawlings Velo if I had to purchase a new bat again
Pros: There is no vibration what so ever and the feeling you get hitting the ball is amazing i love this bat.
Cons: there isn't any
Pros: Hard to say. My high school sophomore who we purchased this bat for has not been able to use it long enough to formulate any kind of positive opinion. Since we have not had a chance to evaluate the pros, I won't give Louisville Slugger credit for anything.
Cons: Bat was purchased in mid March 2016. It is now end of March 2016 and bat is broken. Bat broke in handle, where it now rattles when you swing it. We now get to find out how quickly Louisville Slugger will honor their warranty and replace the bat. I'll also mention that a teammate of my son's purchased this same bat, and his broke as well.
Pros: The pop on this bat is amazing, as the composite feel of this bat is to the equivalent of a -5 bat. Definetly the best -3 (BBCOR) bat out there and is definetly worth the price.
Cons: The lizard skin grip that comes with the bat is cheaper than the typical lizard skin grip you can buy in stores, and it is slowly coming of the bat. Also, the barrel tends to feel a but loose as if the barrel may fly of the bat, but according to Loiusville Slugger, it is supposed to do that because of the 3 piece technology. Not a big problem, but is overall a great quality bat.
Pros: has pop when its not broke
Cons: the hand and barrel seperarte...this is our third one..not fun sending bats back every couple months.
Pros: Nothing
Cons: We bought this bat Feb/2016 returned to Just Bats because handle came loose on March/2016 , April 1st my son had the same problem with the bat, Now we have to go thru 2016 Louisville Slugger to get our money back. Horrible...
Pros: this bat hit BOMBS. I would buy this bat if you want to improve your game and hit bombs. I tried all the bat from the axe to the mako. If your bat twists an eighth of an inch (the barrel) its fine say slugger. Get this bat NOW!
Cons: slight rotation in barrel but does not cause defects.
Pros: None that I can speak of. Bat broke before a full evaluation could be made.
Cons: Two piece connection came loose after two days of BP and tee work. Price is ridiculous for such a poorly made bat.
Pros: Good pop.
Cons: Knob is starting to come loose.
Pros: Great pop, balance and feel
Cons: Cracked before season finished
Pros: insane pop and even weight distribution. I love this bat and if you're looking for a bat get this.
Cons: Within 1 game the barrel came loose from the handle. Currently sending in for new one.
Pros: bat has tons of pop and great balance with no vibration
Cons: handle twists and feels wierd after a while of use but still great bat and i suggest considering the 30 day warrantee if u dont like the feel
Pros: Tons of pop! Large sweet spot! Looks and feels great! Worth what it is paid for! Recommend this bat!
Cons: None
Pros: great bat and pop. extremely balanced.
Cons: handle came loose and had to send it in to louisville. horrible customer service. supposed to take 7-10 days once they get the bat to see if i even get a new one. and to add on, they are on back order so i wont get a new bat until the middle of my season.
Pros: Good initial pop
Cons: Grip: Need to spend $11 on new grip as it tears for a left handed hitting player after 1 round of BP. Barrel and Handle has slight rotation or looseness after a few weeks. When swinging the bat would have a rotation or looseness feel on the handle. Heard from multiple sources and college teams that they have given up on the 916 and only use the 716 or 516. Sent back to LS and had to wait 3 weeks for replacement due to back orders. Assume due to similar issues I had.
Pros: great feel. great pop
Cons: barrel came loose from handle. (a jiggle)got a replacement and the same thing happened.
Pros: none
Cons: Did not last two weeks and have to send back for replacement! Not happy at all, after speding $400.
Pros: i am a 6'0 180 lbs. 14 year old so i have always went to the end loaded power bats. i bought a 33/30 bbcor version of this bat and love it. it is a great mix of power hitting and contact. i have an xl1, cf8 and mako and have had previous bbcor bats but none have compared. this bat has just as much, if not more pop then the xl1, a lighter and more even swing than the mako with great barrel size. it has an amazing sound to it (kind of wood like) and i have hit it on the handle and end of barrel and it has never hurt. And this bat is definitely the best looking bat right now. Also i love the lizard skin tape the bat comes with. it has a great look on the bat and even better feel. the only bat i have truly felt is worth the price.
Cons: nothing
Pros: Great bat at first.....
Cons: Will not last a year poor quality
Pros: Seems to hit the ball well, has a large sweet spot, and is well balanced.
Cons: Louisville Slugger obviously has a design or manufacturing flaw with this bat. The first time in the cage with the bat my Son noticed that after about 50 hits, the barrel and handle twisted. If you call Louisville Slugger, they will tell you that this is how it is designed. However, if you read other bat review sights, they say nothing about it, and even some have "experts" who say that if the bat twists there is something wrong with it. As you can read from other reviews, the twisting may be a sign of things to come. If your a gambler, purchase this bat, otherwise avoid it. How do you know if or when the 1/8" twist is going to become a full twist or a break?
Pros: good pop
Cons: broke 2 in 2 weeks wont get another ! didnt buy them from justbats . com wish i did ! there costumer service rocks!!!
Pros: most pop ive ever felt in a bat before , no vibration , the sound is so natural and clean , it sounds like wood. also no vibration even if you get jammed
Cons: nothin dude
Pros: Great bat while it lasted. 33/30 I bought it on 3/24/16. Loved the feel. Great swing balance. You know right away when you launch one from the sweet spot.
Cons: Barrel cracked on 5/2/16. Warranty is 12 months one time replacement. If it breaks again I'm out of luck.
Pros: has a lot of pop until it breaks
Cons: It broke 3 times for me I'm on my fourth bat and I'm just trying to get a refund because the one i have now is broken too
Pros: great bat till 2 of them broke
Cons: broke 2 of them in 2 weeks first one had stress cracks on handle second one was a perfect barrell shot and handle exploded!! did not buy them threw justbats!!
Pros: i am a sophomore I play at the variety level and my opinions on the bat are that this bat has amazing feel so much pop in this bat it feels light in my hands and has a light swing I've owned a mako and a cf5 and between all of these bats the prime 916 is the overall best bat I've played with it has amazing sound off the bat just like wood i would recommend this bat to all players big small well worth the price
Cons: none
Pros: Bat has really nice pop and doesn't hurt your hands.
Cons: 3 other kids have the bat on my team but only my handle moves I don't know if it is broke or anything still works the same as before.
Pros: Great sound and balance. Wish it was more durable.
Cons: Purchased for 400 in Jan broke in April sent back for broken cap, chipped on the knob, wrap came off. Two weeks after receiving the replacement the handle came loose and the bat is dead. Probably a new design that went to market too fast. Hope the new model is better.
Pros: Awesome Pop, great feel, balanced well. Son was batting .695 for his HS Freshman team and loved the bat until it started to twist. CS was exceptional. Took the bat back for a full refund due to bat being on backorder.
Cons: The whole twisting issue. They state that 1/8" is normal but we got it up to 1/4in. Feels like it was going to fall apart. Bought a new one because he loved it so much and two games into it, it is clicking and twisting again. They say it is normal, but feels weird to swing. Returning this one for a refund and looking for something else for him.
Pros: none
Cons: breaks every other game...if you want to replace a bat evey2 games this is the bat for you...$25 to ship eveytime it breaks should get partial refund or full refund for putting product out like this...would have more respect to own up to flaw in bat and refund move forward...
Pros: Best bat that i have ever used. Great pop lets a little guy hit for big power. All my teammates use it. Great balance on it. Feels light compared to other BBCOR bats. This bat just feels great overall.
Cons: Lizard skin came of after 200 swings. Don let your entire team use it because it will loose it´s pop in about a year. Also try to find another bat for long bp sesses.
Pros: This bat has good pop and a great sound and the ball absolutely flies off this bat.
Cons: My bats barrel became loose or wobbly from the handle which caused me to return it. I would've thought that a 400$ bat would be more durable...
Pros: Had good pop
Cons: Handle starts moving and barrel starts rattling after 3 weeks no pop left in it .
Pros: This bat has unbelievable pop. I switched to this from a Cat 6 and could not have been happier, due to the fact it is a three piece you feel almost nothing when you hit the ball whether that is good or bad, I know I had mixed emotion with it, overall it is a very solid bat
Cons: The lizard skin grip on the bat is very low quality, when I first got the bat within the first coupe rounds of BP I took the knob under the grip that makes the handle fat began to come out of the lizard skin, it is a very easy fix however, just go to a local sporting goods store and buy another grip and tape it on yourself
Pros: Most pop of any bat while it lasts.
Cons: Breaks constantly not worth returning every two weeks. These bats do not last the barrel twists from handle.
Pros: so much pop right out of the box no vibration at all light weight
Cons: grip tape collor
Pros: Amazing pool! If you're not getting a good pop. You might want to try another sport
Cons: The I only thing I hate that it was discontinued
Pros: Amazing pop!
Cons: Discontinued

About the Brand
In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.
After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.
The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.
The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.
Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
