Description

This Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is similar to that of the CAT 5 and CAT 6, only double the power! You are really going to scare some people if you come to the plate with this bat. Marucci has done a fantastic job of upping the ante from year to year and improving on an already masterful design. One of the main differences from last years CAT 6 to this CAT 7 is the new and improved AZ4X Alloy that dramatically improves durability and strength. Additionally, the optimized barrel design is more responsive and offers a sweet spot that is twice as large in comparison to the CAT 6. Through Marucci's engineer's extensive research and consultation with their player advisory board made up of big leaguers, they determined that one of the most common complaints among amateur baseball players is vibration in the hands. The brand-new AV2 Knob, also known as the second generation anti-vibration knob, offers a much better feel and remarkably less vibrational feedback in players' hands. Furthermore, the proven ring-free barrel technology continues to produce unmatched performance with absolutely no 'dead' spots. The combination of these new features results in a traditional, one-piece, all alloy, best balanced, most forgiving, sweetest feeling, and hardest hitting bat available.

The Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 features a -3 length to weight ratio, a 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter, and the BBCOR certification which makes it legal for play at the high school and collegiate level. Also, Marucci is backing this monster of a bat with a full twelve (12) month manufacturer's warranty. Marucci: Honor The Game! Be the talk of the town and make sure to get your own CAT 7 today with fast, free shipping.

New Cat 7 is Finally Here!! Chris Angel player

wow Jackson Russell player

Pros: unreal pop. this bat has a much bigger barrel than the Cat 6 so if you happen to "jam" yourself a little you'll still get the barrel on the ball and this ball will fly. You'll love it

Cons: it feels a little heavier than a Cat6 but its still balanced. its a slight difference but you'll get used to it and its not a bad thing

Exceeds expectations Brennan player

Pros: This bat has a massive sweet spot and is very balanced which gives you swing speed and control. I have swung the cat 5,6 and 7 all throughout high school and travel ball and put a beating on all of them. The durability and pop in these bats is like no other. As a competitive player I have swung every bat in the book and can't seem to find anything better than the Marucci Cat series. If you're looking for a bat that is smooth, balanced and produces the pop and power you need, look no more. The Marucci Cat7 will not be beat.

Cons: The grip is slick until you use it for a few games

Gets even better for same price Ed Hernandez parent

Pros: First of all this is the 4th Marucci Bat my son has used. He used the cat Cat 5 squared, Cat 6 at -5, Cat 6 at -3 and Finally we got our hands on the Cat 7 and he didn't skip a beat. We've tried along the way a couple of composite bats, but He always comes back to the Cat7. The sweet long barrel just adds to the nice level swing he loves from the "Cats". You can see the balance and pop on plenty of his YouTube videos on Ed Hernandez channel. There are 5 of these now on our team. One other great thing is that they are easy to resale with plenty of pop for months in cool, hot or cold temperatures. Great all season!!!

Cons: None what so ever.

Greatest bat I have ever owned Chandler Scruggs player

Pros: I have the standard CAT7 and it is truly the best bat I have ever owned. First of all, it is a gogreous bat while still sticking to the traditional CAT series format. Secondly, the overall feel of the CAT7 is amazing and just feels right. Marucci really hit the nail on the head with the new CAT7.

Cons: My only complaint about this bat is that when you hit the ball, it makes a loud and high-pitched pinging noise. But, it is easy to get past.

Best bat I own Mike B player

Pros: This bat has a ton of pop. I own the cat 6 and thought marucci could never make a better bat. They proved me wrong. The cat 7 is unbelievable. It has a ton of pop a long with a huge sweet spot. It's so balanced and smooth. I was impressed with the bat the second I picked it up, And I was sold on it after my first swing. When you square a ball up perfectly it sounds beautiful. I would definitely recommend this bat to anyone in the market looking to hit dingers!

Cons: The only con I can think of is that marucci is going to have a tough time making a better bat than the cat 7!

Cat 7 is Fantastic! Michael V player

Pros: This bat has some insane pop I have been using it for a little over two weeks and it is just fantastic, this bat highly outclasses many other BBCOR bats including the MAKO and CF8. The huge sweet spot helps make it to where anytime you hit the ball it will fly, if you had the cat 6 or are new to the CAT series and want a cheap bat that has some serious pop and no vibration this bat is a perfect for you!

Cons: The grip is slippery but pine tar/batting gloves fix the problem with ease.

Cat 7 Tyler H. player

Pros: The Cat 7 is the overall best bat I have owned. It has tremendous pop, an extremely balanced feel, and sounds great when you hit it. Not to mention that the grip is the best in the game, hands down. Even when you don't barrel the ball up or "just miss" the ball still seems to jump off the bat better than others. The Cat 7 is a great bat and I would highly recommend it over any others, especially if you like the feel of a one piece aluminum.

Pros: Wow! Just wow! This bat has a humongous barrel and zero vibration. And i mean zero vibration. I got jammed really bad and didn't feel a thing and still hit it hard. Also, this bat is super light. The -3 version feels like a -5. This is the best bbcor bat ever!

Cons: Grip is amazing until you start sweating. Once you start to sweat the grip feels like soap all over it but batting gloves or pine tar will do the trick.

Pros: the balance, pop, and even the grip is perfect on this bat. Nice size barrel but not oversized, reminds me of a throw back style from the past. It also has A little more ping than the 6 offers if you're in to that. Also incredible graphics and finish.

best bb core bat you can buy. baseball king player

Pros: the pop on this bat is Amazing, best i have ever used! the vibration on thr bat is also best i have ever used! if i hit on the inside or end it dont hurt at all. the wait distrubution is Amazing, it feels really light but at the same time has enough weight on the barrel / end of the bat that you need. the bat last very long, ( still using it of corse. ) it gets no scratches on it like Eastons will. i know some say the grip nesds batting gloves or it gets slippy when your hands get swetty, i hace not experianced that. i like the grip that comes with it better than lizard skin. nothing against lizard skin, i really like lizard skin grip tape but this is better. Don't get a Easton, or a Demarini, or a Louisville slugger, or anything else! get a Marruci cat 7!!!! if i had to describe this bag in one word it would be AMAZING.

Amazing bat Jeremy Laureano player

Pros: I have been using this bat in the cages and wow it is one monster. This bat has a all new feel to it with a more level swing and intense bat speed through the zone. I have used Mako's for the past 2 years but i decided to go outside the box and try this new Cat 7 and it was a great change it is just as strong and well built as any Mako and even from a change from composite to all alloy the bat still performs as well as any other composite bat. Overall great all round bat.

Cons: Vibration on the handle but that is normal for any alloy bat bat especially one piece. Grip is ok but might wear down after a while.

Game Changer BrewGenes parent

Pros: Great Balance, My 6'1", 160# son stepped up from a 32/29 hybrid to this one in a 33/30 configuration and says they feel the same, despite the extra weight. They may feel the same, but the results are night and day. He was crushing the Cat7. When I started hitting outfield flies to him, I didn't need nearly the effort and sent a couple to the fence by mistake. The handle has a perfect taper to the knob.

Cons: Can emit a very loud ping when you crush a ball.

Very impressed Happy dad parent

Pros: In the 12 years my son has played, I have never seen the ball come off the bat like this. It definitely decreases the fielders range. It does seem to have a huge sweet spot. He has cleared the fence a few times in BP. Can't wait for the games to start.

Marucci figured something out!! Coach Mike parent

Pros: Not quite sure what Marucci has figured out that the other brands haven't but they keep getting better. My son has played travel ball since he was 8. He's now 15 and moved into highschool and the BBcore bat. Throught the years he's tried many different brands and always seems to come back to the Marucci Cat series bat. After spending almost double the price on another BBcore he went back to the Marucci and finished the year out with it. He watches the internet daily and cannot wait until the Cat 8 comes out so he can get it in the cage. Thank you Marucci for making such a quality bat at a fair price.

Excellent bat Just being honeat player

Pros: Great pop, longer barrel, and swings great. All these bbcors are close to the same, so there's no need in spending $200 extra dollars on a bat that won't outperform this bat. Find one that feels good to you, and go with it.

Best bat on the market for the price!! Brayden Gunk player

Pros: Well, where to start. For summer ball, my parents bought me the easton z core speed. I thought it was a good bat until the bottom knob broke. Then for my birthday I asked for a new bat and batting gloves. I looked everywhere for a great bat. Then I settled for the Cat 7. Once I got it I was so happy. The bat looked cool and the grip was insane! I hope this bat stays for my next few seasons.

Cons: the grip wares out fast.

It does sting on mishits bht that is expected with a one-piece bat. the grip is amazing once you get it broken in.

Awesome Pop Anonymous player

Pros: The Ball Comes of this bat great. I know that BBCOR is supposed to make bats be the equivalent to wood, but i feel no resemblance to a wood bat at all. When I swing this bat, It doesn't even feel like I'm hitting a baseball, much less a foam ball. Hottest BBCOR Bat I have ever swung.

Cons: The Grip can become slippery when cold or wet. Very thick grip.

How much better do you think the CAT 7 is compared to the CAT 6? Do you think the CAT 6 or CAT 7 is better then the Omaha 2016? Vinny
I think that the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is going to be very comparable to the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 but due to the new aluminum that they use it should be more responsive. I think all three are very good bats and picking the right one has a lot to do with personal preference because they are all going to be very similar. The Maruccis do have a little be of an advantage in the reviews from JustBats.com customers.
Carter
Is there a point of spending the 50 dollars to get the CAT 7 or should I just get the CAT 6 for cheaper? vinny
The Marucci CAT 6 was and still is a very good BBCOR bat to consider. As for spending additional funds to get the new 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7, there are some new features with this bat that would make one believe that it will have more pop and durability than the CAT6; of course only time will tell if this is accurate or not.
Cameron
I wanted a CAT 6 a couple of months ago and then I heard that the CAT 7 was coming out very soon, so I decided to wait. Be honest, is there really a difference between the CAT 6 and the CAT 7? If so, what differences are there so I can make my decision? Frankie
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is constructed from Marucci's newest AZ4X alloy, which allowed Marucci to engineer a larger barrel and a sweet spot twice as large as the CAT 6 using 7 variable wall thicknesses with no internal rings. The CAT 7 also features the updated and finely tuned AV2 anti-vibration knob helping to absorb harsh sting from miss-hits.
Carter
Is the CAT 7 balanced or end-loaded? JP
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is a precision balanced one-piece alloy design with a lower M.O.I.
John P.
Is the CAT 7 more for a power hitter or contact hitter? Pete
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 may be used by both power and contact hitters. The stiffer flex of the one-piece alloy design will be beneficial for power hitters while the balanced design with lower M.O.I will be a good fit for contact hitters.
John P.
Are there any rings or governors inside the CAT 7? Larry
No, the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 features the ring-free barrel design which results in no dead spots while increasing performance.
John P.
Would you recommend this for my son's first BBCOR bat? patricia
This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) is the 2017 model of the CAT 6. That CAT 6 was a great bat and this CAT 7 will feature the same balanced swing weight and one-piece design (plus upgrades from that CAT 6). Overall, I think this CAT 7 would be a great option to get for a player's first BBCOR bat.
Ben
(1) I am 13 years old, 5'6" and about 130 lbs. I have been swinging my teammate's 25 ounce bat. I want to get a BBCOR bat and swing it for a year to get ready for high school ball. Would the 31"/28 oz size be a good option for me? (2) Is the bat end-loaded or is the weight evenly distributed? A-dog
(1) Based upon your height and weight, our general recommendation would be to get this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) in the 31" length. If you can handle the 28 oz weight of the 31" option of this CAT 7, then I would recommend that size. (2) This CAT 7 is going to come with a evenly distributed swing weight.
Ben
Is the bat end loaded or is the weight evenly distributed? adrian
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 has a balanced swing weight and it is evenly distributed.
Jason
Does this bat have a balanced swing weight with a ton of pop? tommy
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is a balanced bat and it is a very high performing BBCOR bat.
Jason
Is the CAT 6 or CAT 7 better? sonny baseball
It is too early to tell yet on which is better but with the new advancements made in barrel technology on the CAT 7, with the optimized barrel design and new AZ$X alloy, one would tend to believe the new CAT 7 will quickly replace the popularity of the CAT 6.
Cameron
How do you put your name in the bat? cody baseball
Unfortunately at this time we here at JustBats.com do not have the option to engrave into the bats.
Carter
How would this bat compare to the Easton Z-core Whiteout? Which would be more balanced and that sort of thing? Tanks
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 and the 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW are going to be very balanced bats. They are going to be really comparable and the difference is going to be so minuscule that it really is going to come down to player preference.
Carter
Which BBCOR bat has the fastest swing speed with the most pop? t-stew
A lot of bats are going to have a very good swing speed and have good pop. All of the high end bats are going to be very comparable. The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is going to be a very balanced bat with a good swing speed and have a lot of pop.
Carter
Is this a full aluminum bat? Zo
Yes, the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is a 100% alloy bat.
Marcus
Is this a bat for power hitters or contact hitters? South Baseball
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 has a balanced swing weight and it is typically preferred by contact hitters.
Jason
Is there a break-in period? dp
This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) is an all-alloy bat and will not require any break-in period in order to show top performance.
Ben
I got the Marucci CAT 5 when it first came out and it had pop but it wasn't durable at all. I got tons of dents in it and the end cap came off and I only had it for a month. I haven't gotten a Marucci bat since that. The reviews are better on the newer Marucci bats. If I get this bat will it be more durable than the past Marucci bats? Papa
The Marucci Cat Series has been one of our best rated bats ever, with performance and durability. If you take a look at the Cat 6 BBCOR reviews it has 85 reviews with an overall average 5 star rating. It sounds like you probably just had some bad luck with your old Cat 5. I would highly recommend the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7.
Carter
Would you recommend the Cat 7 or the LS Prime 917? Tyler
This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) will come with a one-piece, all-alloy build to it which will result in a balanced swing weight on the bat. The Prime 917 will differ as it has a two-piece design and an all-composite build. As well, the Prime 917 will have a pretty balanced feel to it. Both bats could be used by any style of hitter. The big difference between the two bats will come from the feel the bats produce at contact with the ball. This Cat 7 provides a more stiff feel at contact while the Prime 916 will feature more flex. When deciding on a bat, you'll need to decide on the feel that your prefer at contact with the ball.
Ben
What size would you recommend for someone 5'11" and 190 lbs? JD
Based on your height and weight we would recommend you swinging a 33"/30oz. Hope this helps!
Carter
Recommended size for a 5'8" 180 lb soon to be 16 yo? rbk
According to his height and weight we would recommend swinging between a 32" bat and a 33" bat. Whichever size the player felt more comfortable with.
Carter
My son just turned 14 and will be buying his first BBCOR bat. He is a contact hitter, 5'6", 115 lbs. We are considering the Marucci Cat 7, the DeMarini CF8, and the Easton Z-Core Hybrid. Which of these would you recommend; or are there others that would be better for him? Mike
All three are going to be very good options. Currently the DeMarini CF8 is not available and it has been sold out for a decent amount of time. The Easton Z Core and the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 are going to be very similar bats. They are both going to be really good options. The Marucci Cat 7 is actually going to be an improved option from the Marucci Cat 6, which was one of our best rated bats ever. So I think the Marucci Cat 7 would be a great option for your sons first BBCOR baseball bat.
Carter
My son is turning 14. He's 5'5" and 140 lbs. What size would you recommend? Josh
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of getting this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) in the 31" length. As long as your player can handle the 28 oz weight of the 31" length option, he should be good for use with that size of bat.
Ben
My son is going to turn 14. He is 150 lbs. and 5'7". What size bat would you recommend? Nick
Based on his height and weight I would recommend a 32" 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7)
Jake
Will this bat or the Cat 6 perform better? srhoads
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) is going to perform a little bit more highly than the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR (MCBC614). This is due to the AZ4X Alloy used in the CAT 7. It is going to be stronger and more responsive than the aluminum used in the CAT 6. The barrel has also been redesigned on the CAT 7 and is going to have a much larger sweet spot. Marucci does not release a new version of the CAT series every single year so when they do release a new version, a lot of time and research went into designing the new bat.
Carter
I am 5'9" and 175 lbs. What size CAT 7 should I purchase? Baseball841
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 32" model of the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7.
Jason
Which bat performs better based off customer reviews this or the 2017 Easton Z-CORE Speed Whiteout? Spencer
Both the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) and Easton Z-CORE Speed Whiteout have gotten excellent reviews. At this point the CAT 7 has a larger number of reviews and they have all been 5 stars across the board.
Jake
I'm 5'8" and 145 lbs. I just turned 13 years old. I have a skinny frame. What size do you suggest for the Marucci Cat 7? Sunny d
For your height and weight, we recommend a 32" bat length.
Angelique
I am more of a contact hitter, but would like to be more of a power hitter. I'm wondering what you would recommend for a bat? Jopseh
This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) will be a one-piece bat with a balanced swing weight to it. It could be used by both a contact or power hitter. Typically, the bat will not be the deciding factor in determining whether a player will be a power or contact hitter. The determining factors will come down to the strength of the player and the manner in which they swing the bat.
Ben
How does this bat compare to the Rawlings VELO? swrhoads34
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 and Rawlings VELO are two very comparable alloy bats. Both are very well balanced and have a light swing weight.
Marcus
My son is 13, 5'2" and 115 pounds. He's been swinging a 33" LS wood bat in preparation for middle school ball, and the move up to -3. Would this bat be a good choice in 31-28 for him? kidzgotskillz
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) is an extremely balanced bat so if your son needs to be swinging a BBCOR bat this one in the smallest option, a 31"/28oz, would be a great option.
Carter
Is the 2016 Easton MAKO or CAT 7 more balanced? gpk
Both the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) and the 2017 Easton MAKO BEAST BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB17MK) are going to be extremely balanced bats. I honestly do not think I can give the edge to either one. If you are going to choose one over the other it would be about the major differences in the bats rather than the balance. The Cat 7 is a one piece aluminum bat while the Mako a two piece composite. They will offer very different feels when making contact with the ball. Both of these are extremely balanced bats through.
Carter
I'm 5'9", 190 lbs and I am 13. What size do you think I need? Moose
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 33" model in the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7.
Jason
How does the Cat 7 compare to the Cat 5? Ytee
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 will have a longer sweet spot than the CAT 5 does and will also be better at reducing vibration on mishits.
Marcus
Which bat is better, the Marucci CAT 7 or the Marucci CAT 6? Scott
The CAT7 is constructed from Marucci's newest AZ4X alloy, which allowed Marucci to engineer a larger barrel and a sweet spot twice as large as the CAT6 using 7 variable wall thicknesses with no internal rings. The CAT7 also features the updated and finely tuned AV2 anti-vibration knob helping to absorb harsh sting from miss-hits.
Kyle J.
What length bat would you recommend for a 16 year old that's 5'9'' and 180 lbs? Ben
The best bat length for that age, height and weight is 33 inches.
Tori
What is the difference between the CAT 7 one piece and CAT 7 two piece based on how it will feel during the swing and at contact? JT
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) is a one piece aluminum bat while the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBCC7) is going to be a hybrid bat with a composite handle and an aluminum barrel. The normal Cat 7 is going to be more balanced than the Cat 7 Connect. The Cat 7 Connect will offer a little bit more flex when making contact with the ball, limiting vibrations a little bit more than the one piece Cat 7. The Cat 7 will feel more like hitting with a wood baseball bat.
Carter
Do I need to break in my son's CAT 7? tray
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) is an aluminum bat and you do not need to break in aluminum bats. It will be hot right out of the wrapper.
Carter
My son is 14 years old. He is 5"10' and 148 lbs. (1) Should I get him a 33-30 or 32-29? (2) And which bat would you recommend: LS Prime 917 or CAT 7? tom
(1) Based upon your player's height and weight, my general recommendation would be to get a BBCOR bat in 32" length (unless you feel he can handle or will quickly grow into a 33"/30 oz bat). (2) I would recommend this CAT 7 over the Prime 917 if you feel that you prefer the one-piece, all-alloy design with a very balanced swing weight to it (CAT 7 will provide a more stiff feel at contact).
Ben
Is this bat going to have a higher or a lower MOI than the Marucci Cat 6 BBCOR? swrhoads34069
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) and the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) are going to feel very similar and have a very similar MOI. I cannot even tell which one is more balanced. I would say that they are the same.
Carter
How long is the break-in period of the CAT 7, if any? Dazzle
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is fully aluminum and it does not require a break-in as a result. It is going to be hot out of the wrapper.
Jason
Do you guys happen to know the exact MOI of this Marucci Cat 7? tank
Marucci does not give us these exact specifications, you would have to contact them directly to get this information. Their phone number is (225) 291-2552. Thank you.
Carter
What size would you recommend for a 13 year old who is 5'7" and 135 lbs? Jake2235

This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) will be a one-piece, all-alloy bat while the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBCC7) will be a two-piece, hybrid bat (alloy barrel and composite handle). At connection, the regular CAT 7 will be pretty stiff while the CAT 7 Connect will offer flex in the barrel. As well, this regular CAT 7 is balanced while the CAT 7 Connect will feature a bit of an end-load on it.
Ben
I am 13, 5'3" and 114 lbs. Would you recommend getting a 31" or a 32"? Collin
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 31" model in the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7.
Jason
Will Marucci offer this bat in a 30"/27 oz size? baseball dad
Unfortunately, it appears this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) will not be offered in the 30"/27 oz size (after searching Marucci's website, the 31" size appears to be the shortest offering).
Ben
I'm getting a new bat for my birthday and I was wondering which bat I should get. I was think either the 2016 MAKO or the Cat 7. I was wondering which bat will perform better. I had the Cat 6 last year and loved it but I used the MAKO for fall ball and hit amazing with it. Which one should I choose? Dinger Dan
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) and the 2017 Easton MAKO BEAST BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB17MK) are going to be very good options. The Cat 7 is going to be much cheaper through, and the Cat series has been one of the highest rated series of bats that we have ever had. With the new AZ4X Alloy and a Sweet Spot that is twice as long as the Cat 6 that you liked, I would go with the Cat 7. It is a good update over the Cat 6 which was already a great bat.
Carter
Is this bat a good option for a power hitter? Also, I am 15, 5'10" and 170 pounds. What weight is good for me? LarrBear
Based on your height and weight we would recommend a 32"/29oz 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7). It is a great option for a power hitter.
Carter
What length is best for preserving the bat speed of a 16 year old who is 6 feet tall and 175 lbs? It is 33", right? Urban Buckeye
We recommend a 33" 30 oz. BBCOR bat for a player with that height and weight.
Angelique
I'm 5'9" and 139 pounds. What's better the Cat 7 or the Cat 7 Connect? jaxon stewart
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is a one-piece alloy design. The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 is a two-piece hybrid design. The best choice for you will depend on whether you like the stiffer feel of a one-piece bat or the flex offered by a two-piece bat.
Tori
Which would be a better bat Cat 7 or a 2017 Rawlings 5150 ? John
Both the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) and the 2017 Rawlings 5150 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB75) are going to be great, high end bats. Both of them have been well reviewed by our customers and the previous years models have received great feedback too. You really cannot go wrong either way. The Cat 7 does feature a longer barrel than the Cat 6 which was one of the most popular products we have ever have. That is something to check out.
Carter

Jason

Yes, the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is a balanced bat.
Jason
I'm 13 years old. Does the BBCOR 32" bat feel heavy? b
If this will be your first time using BBCOR bats, then all the BBCOR bats will probably feel a little heavy starting out since they will feature a -3 length-to-weight ratio. However, this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) will probably be one of the more light-feeling BBCOR bats available on the market. If you are trying to get a light-feeling BBCOR bat in the 32" length, this CAT 7 is definitely one for consideration.
Ben
Is the Cat 7 a USSSA approved bat? Cameron
The senior league versions of the Cat 7 has the USSSA stamp on it. This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) is going to be BBCOR Certified, Approved for High School and Collegiate Play.
Carter
Does the 2017 MCBC7 meet the new 2018 bat guidelines/standards? baseball dad
The new 2018 standard only apply to Youth baseball bats. It is not going to apply to BBCOR baseball bats. If you would like to read more about these new rules you can so here - http://blog.justbats.com/new-youth-baseball-bat-standard-usabat-effective-jan.-1-2018. The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) will still be legal for high school and collegiate play next year.
Carter

Based on the player's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in a 33 inch model.
Cameron

My son is 14, he is 5'6" and 150-155 lbs. What size would you recommend? JH
Based on your son's height and weight we would recommend a 32"/29 ounce 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7).
Carter
My son is a freshman in high school and hasn't used a BBCOR bat in the past. He is 5'9" and 120 lbs. Would you recommend the 31" or let him grow into the 32"? NJ
Based upon his height and weight at this current time, my general recommendation would be to get this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) in the 31" length as long as you feel that the 28 oz weight will be beneficial for him. However, if you want something that can be used more long term, the 32" size would be best. The decision will come down to whether you want the most optimal bat for right now or if you want to get something that can be used more in the future (and save you some money by not having to buy another bat next year).
Ben
My son is 5'10" and weighs 155 lbs. What size would you recommend, 32 or 33? bob
Based on his height and weight, we suggest 33" model in the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7.
Jason
I am currently in 8th grade and play select tournaments about every other weekend. I plan on getting this bat for Christmas and will want to use it through sophomore year. Do you think this bat will be able to last through the spring and 2 years of HS? Also, if i want to use this bat for 2 years and I will continue growing what size should I get? I am currently 5'5", almost 5'6". I want to take into consideration how much I will grow. adrian
To give you a proper recommendation on what size bat you would need we would need to know your weight as well. You can use the Bat Chart in the Bat Resource Guide or the Bat Coach. I will link those are the bottom of this. The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) should last you multiple years, the AZ4X Alloy is very durable and will last a long time. http://www.justbats.com/bat-resource-guide/ http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Carter
If I want to use this bat for 2 years in high school, and I will continue growing, what size should I get? I am currently 5'5", almost 5'6". I want to take into consideration how much I will grow. A-RAM
Based on your height currently it may make more sense to get the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in a 33 inch model (dependent on weight and age). If FR or SO currently it may make more sense to get a 32 inch model and transition into 33 inch model by the time you are a JR or SR.
Cameron
I need a drop 3 for 14u select ball. Does this have the USSSA stamp? Would like to transition this to summer high school try outs. J
Unfortunately, we do not carry any BBCOR bats that also have the USSSA stamp as well. A Bat like the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is only going to have the BBCOR stamp, but in most leagues the BBCOR stamp should allow the bat to be legal.
Sean
I'm a power hitter who hits a lot of doubles and triples to the wall. This year I'm trying to hit HRs. What bat will be best for me but I don't want to bat to be too heavy; a little end load is okay. Dinger Dan
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is a great bat to consider for someone looking to add power to their game. The one-piece alloy design means this bat will be stiff on impact and the new AZ4X alloy will give this bat more durability as well as an increased sweet spot when compared to the CAT 6.
Cameron
I'm 5'11" and weigh 165. What size bat do you recommend I use? I've used a 33 Cutch22 wood bat the whole summer and did just fine. Also, what is the difference between the CAT 7 and the Connect? Ty
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in a 33/30. As for the difference between the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 and the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 , the new Connect bat will be a two-piece hybrid design with an alloy barrel and composite handle. Bat will also have a higher MOI than the CAT7 which means faster swing speeds meaning more power potential.
Cameron
My son is in 4th grade, 10 yrs old, 4 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 89 pounds. He wants the Cat 7. What length and weight of bat would you recommend? Fager
Based on your son's height and weight we would not really recommend a Marucci Cat 7. For his age Marucci has designed this 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) and I would recommend it in the 30"/20oz version.
Carter
My 16 year old son has a CAT 6 bat he loves, but says it is dead. He is 6'2" approximately 205 lbs. He is a solid strong hitter. Normally 4th or 5th in line up. What size bat should I be looking at for him? I think the one he has now is a 33. Is this still appropriate? Hoping to find something to get him through high school & maybe college. Kenneth
Based on your player's height and weight, we would suggest the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in the 34" 31oz size.
Logan
My son is 11 years old and about 4'11" and 125 lbs. He wants the CAT 7 big barrel version. Is 2 5/8" considered a "big barrel"? Which CAT 7 do you recommend? Tracy
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of getting a bat in the 30" length. The 2 5/8" barrel is typically referred to as a big barrel. I would recommend against getting this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) as the -3 length-to-weight ratio will be a little large for use by your player. The CAT 7 I would suggest for you is the MSBYC78 which can be bought in the 30"/22 oz size and is meant for use with kid pitch baseball. That bat would be fine to get as long as the 22 oz weight is okay for him to use.
Ben
Will my son be able to use this bat for USSSA tournaments? stout6
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 features an all alloy construction with a -3 length to weight ratio and a 2 5/8" barrel diameter. As long as the tournaments alloy a 2 5/8" barrel then this bat would be legal for play.
Cameron
What's the difference between the CAT 6 and CAT 7? Doug Shaw
This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) will feature updated alloy material that should be stronger and have a higher response rate than the alloy on the CAT 6 bats. As well, this CAT 7 will have a sweet spot that should be twice as big as the CAT 6's sweet spot.
Ben
My son is 13 years old and about 5'2" and 105 lbs. He wants the CAT 7 big barrel. What length/weight should we get? John
Based upon your player's height and weight (and as long as he is being required to swing BBCOR bats), I would recommend going with the 30"/27 oz size of this bat for your player.
Ben
If my son is 5'9" tall, weighs 150 lbs and has swung a 32" last year. wWhat size would you recommend? Frank
We would recommend either staying with the 32" length, or possibly going up 1" and using a 33" model. What you go with depends on comfort, how far he stands from the plate, strength, and other variables.
Kyle J.
To what other bats does the CAT 7 compare? Jon
Two other bats on the market that feature a similar balanced feel and true one-piece, all-alloy design are the 2017 DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Bat and the 2017 Omaha 517 BBCOR bat.
Ben
Can I use this bat in a league that requires use of USSSA certification? jeremiah
This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) will be allowed in a league that requires USSSA 1.15 BPF certification as long as the 2 5/8" barrel is allowed as well.
Ben
What is the thickness of the bat tap (in millimeters)? landondupuis10
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 will feature a grip tape that is roughly 1.1 mm.
Cameron
My son is 13, 5'4 and weighs 100 pounds. He is required to have a BBCOR 2 5/8 and -3 length to weight ratio. What size bat do you recommend? This will be his first BBCOR bat. In the past he has used the Marucci Hex Alloy. Carla Foster
Based on his height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in a 29''.
Tori
My son is 5'11" tall and weighs 165 lbs. What size should I buy him? dave m
We would suggest a 32" bat, although you could go up or down 1" depending on things such as strength, how far he stands from the plate, etc.
Kyle J.
I now know that the 2017 CAT 7 features a longer barrel than the CAT 6. I would like to know how the length of this barrel compares to this years 5150? Billyc
This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) features a barrel length on it that will be slightly longer than what is featured on the 2017 5150 BBCOR.
Ben
My son is 14. He's 5'1" and about 95 lbs. He is on a 14-U team. What size bat would he need? Dannie
If you guys were purchasing this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) for your player, I would recommend getting the 30"/27 oz size based upon his height and weight.
Ben
Is the 5/8 barrel bigger than a 3/4 barrel? kris
A 2 5/8" inch barrel diameter would be slightly smaller than a 2 3/4" barrel diameter. All BBCOR bats will feature a 2 5/8" barrel diameter.
Cameron
My son is 11 and will be 12 in May. He has the Marucci Hex Alloy in a 29. I always buy bats every year. This bat looks like a better sweet spot. I'm wondering which size? Should I stay at 29? He's 5'0" and 96 lbs. Kris
If your son isn't required to swing a BBCOR bat, I would suggest the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBYC78 in a 30" 22oz size.
Logan
My son is 13 years old in the 7th grade. He is 5'9" and 215 pounds. What size bat would you recommend? BallDad17
Taking into consideration your son's height, weight and age, we would recommend getting the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in a 32 inch 29 ounce model.
Cameron
My son is looking for a new bat and a teammate let him use his CAT 6. He liked it but he wants the CAT 7. He does have good power and can clear the fence. He's about 5'11-6 foot and is about 170 lbs. I noticed two versions, one is about $100 more, any suggestions? This would be for high school if that helps. Ben 10
Based on his height and weight, we would recommend getting a 33 inch BBCOR bat. The difference between the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 and the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 will be the later being a hybrid bat (alloy barrel and composite handle) that features a connection point. The CAT 7 Connect will be more balanced that a higher MOI compared to the one-piece CAT 7 which is why it is $100 more; both are great bats to consider.
Cameron
I am 6'1" and 155 lbs. What size bat should I use? meyer24
Based upon your height and weight, my recommendation for length would be 33". As long as you can handle the 30 oz weight of the 33" option of this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7), I would recommend getting that size of this bat.
Ben
I am about 5'9" and my weight is 158 lbs. What size bat do I need? Matthew

Logan
What is the best bat for a 15 year old 5'6" and 160 lbs playing freshman baseball. He is a power hitter. Previously used an Easton XL1 for travel and an Andrew McCutchen for legion ball. Hit it out of the HS field with the wood bat in 8th grade. He is looking at the Velo and the CAT 7 but open to other options. Jamrum
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is our most popular alloy bat, and would be great for your player.
Logan
My son is 5'8" and 130 lbs and is getting ready for middle school baseball and BBCOR is required. Last season in junior league, he used the CAT 6 -5 bat 32" long and he hit really well with it. What size do you recommend for him in the CAT 7 BBCOR model? He is definitely more of a contact hitter than a power hitter if that helps. WFbaseballdad
Based on his height and weight, we would suggest the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in a 31" 28oz. model. However, since he has swung a 32" in the past, if he can handle the added weight, I would stick to the 32".

Jason
Since its a composite handle can you still use it in any temp? Owen
We do not advise using any bat under 55 degrees. At that temperature the ball becomes more dense and compromises the durability of the bat.
Sean
What temps do you recommend using this bat? p
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is best used in temps over 65 degrees Fahrenheit but can certainly be used in lesser temps (greater change of denting as weather gets colder).
Cameron
Son is stepping up from 2015 DiMarini NVS 31" BBCOR. Looking at 2017 Marucci Cat7 or 2017 Combat Vigor at 32". Recommendation? mk38

My 13 yr son is in 7th grade (5'10", 135 lbs) and plays on a 14U team. He is currently using the 2017 DeMarini CF Zen (32"/29 oz) and has not been getting the pop that he is used to seeing from his hits. Is this bat better? William
Both the CF Zen BBCOR (DXCBC) and this CAT 7 BBCOR have been getting great remarks so far in 2017. It would be hard to say that one bat is far and away the better bat option. However, if you are not having the best success with the CF Zen right now and are wanting to switch things up with a new style of bat, this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) would be great bat for consideration (I think a 32"/29 oz size would probably be good for use by him).
Ben
My son is 5'9" and 145 pounds high school freshman(contact hitter vs power hitter). What size bat do you recommend? MichaelH.
Based on your player's height and weight, I would suggest the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in a 32" 29 oz. size.

The Cat 7 features Ring-Free Barrel Technology for Maximum Performance and No Dead Spots through and is a very high rated bat. I would highly recommend it.

Based on your height and weight we would actually recommend a smaller bat. But if the 31" BBCOR bat seems to small/light for you you could move up to a 32"/29 ounce 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7).
Carter
I'm 5'9" tall and weigh around 170-180 lbs. I've always batted 4 or 5 in the line up. I'm a very strong kid for my age. What would be the best size bat to use? kump160

Kyle J.
My son is 5'2" and 90-100 lbs. I am wondering which bat he should get: the CAT 7 or the Louisville Slugger? Size would be 30"/27 oz. He will soon be heading into high school as a freshman. What should we get for him? Scott
This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) has been receiving excellent reviews so far. If you are looking for a one-piece, all-alloy bat with a balanced swing weight, I do not think that you need to look further than this CAT 7.
Ben
I am 4'11". What size bat should I get? Shay
The best way to determine the correct length of bat for a player is by their height and weight. However, a player that is 4'11" is typically swinging a 30" model of the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7. For more sizing information check out our Bat Coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Jason
I'm a sophomore high school baseball player, 5'10", 165. I'm looking for a fast-swinging, balanced bat with pop. Is this a good choice for me, or are there better bats out there? If so, which ones? Nav
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is a great bat to consider for a player that is seeking a balanced bat with pop. This bat is a one-piece alloy model with a very balanced swing weight making it easy to control the barrel head. For a player of your height and weight we would recommend a 33 inch bat.
Cameron
My son is a sophomore. He is 6'5" and about 172 pounds. Would you reccommend a 34" bat? Sandy
We would recommend getting the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in a 34 inch model if you feel your player is capable of handling 31 ounces.
Cameron
Looking for a couple options for a 5'6" and a 115 lb freshman contact hitter. Ritt

Ben
I'm 5'10" and weigh between 145 to 150 lbs. Mostly a contact hitter. I want a bat that can be swung fast (balanced). I have always used the DeMarini CF series, but want to try out Marucci. Do you recommend the Connect or this bat? Also what ounce? Elliot Nicks
If you are looking for a balanced swinging bat, I would recommend this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) in the 32"/29 oz size based upon your height and weight. The CAT 7 Connect will be a more end-loaded bat compared to this regular CAT 7.
Ben
My son is 13 and almost 6'2". He really liked the CAT 7 in a store. What length should he get (they only had a 33", but I think he needs a 34")? rach
Since he is only 13 years old, I would suggest getting the 33" length of this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7). I am a little nervous that going with the extra long 34" length at such an early age will be a little bit of a burden (even though he is so tall).
Ben
I am 5'11" and 175 lbs (junior in high school). I am looking for a bat with a balanced swing weight, great pop and durability. Would the CAT 7 or the CAT 7 Connect be good, or are there any better options out there? Jack
Since you are wanting a balanced swinging bat, I would definitely recommend this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) as it has a balanced swing feel and receives great reviews (the CAT 7 Connect will be end-loaded). Overall, I would suggest this CAT 7 (MCBC7) very highly for use!
Ben
I am 5'9" and 155 lbs. I had a CAT 6 last year and enjoyed it. Now a kid on my team has a Omaha 517 and I use it. I really like it. I'm debating between this CAT 7 or the Omaha 517. Can you help me? Ryan
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend getting a BBCOR bat in the 32" length. I think you are considering two great bats and will not go wrong with either choice. However, up to the time of your question, I would have to say that this CAT 7 is probably the top rated 2017 BBCOR bat we are carrying at JustBats when you consider the quality of the reviews received and the quantity of the reviews received.
Ben
If I am 8th grade can I use a 2 5/8 diameter bat? log
It really just depends on your league but most all 8th grade leagues will allow 2 5/8" barrel bats like the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7).
Carter
My son is 13 and playing Little League Juniors this year. He is 5'4" and only 90 lbs. but is a solid contact hitter that usually bats 1st in the lineup. Would this bat be good for him and if so what length and weight? Mich
Based on his height and weight, We suggest a 30" 27 oz model in the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7. The Cat 7 is an excellent option, the overall design makes it a great fit for any type of hitter.
Jason
Is this bat an option over the Rawlings Velo. I know they are both good but which one is better? Brandon
Both the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) and the 2017 Rawlings Velo BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB7V) are extremely high end performance bats. Both feature a similar design with a one piece aluminum design. They are going to be about the same performance wise but the Cat 7 does have a $50 advantage in price.
Carter
The CAT 7 or the Z-Core Speed? johnn
I would recommend this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) as it is possibly the highest rated BBCOR bat we are carrying from the 2017 releases when you consider the amount of reviews we have received on the bat and the quality of those reviews.
Ben
Shopping for a 13 year old that is 5'5" and 95 lbs. Which bat would you suggest: the CAT 7 or the Whiteout Z-Core? Broc
Based upon his height and weight, I would probably recommend a 30" BBCOR bat. I would recommend this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7). Not only does it get great reviews, it also can be purchased in the 30"/27 oz size.
Ben
Do you know if there will be a sale on this bat soon? Will
I do not know if there will be a sale on the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) anytime soon. The bat just came out this year and is still under Manufacturers Advertised Price.
Carter
I am looking to buy my son who is a 6' tall 180 lb 14 year old one of the CAT 7 bats. Not to sure if he needs the 32 or 33". Looking for the right size to fit him now and also for at least next year also. ben
Based on your player's height and weight, I would suggest the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in the 33" 30 ounce size.
Logan
My son is 5'1" and 95 lbs. He has a very fast bat swing. What size MCBC7 bat size would you suggest? Dogleg
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 30" model in the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7.
Jason
Does this bat have the USSSA stamp? Our 15 yr old is in need of a bat for both USSSA as well as high school baseball. He is 5'4" tall, about 120 lbs and a contact hitter. Would this be a bat you would recommend? rissraider
The standards for USSSA and BBCOR are different, so you actually won't find a bat that is 1.15 BPF certified for USSSA and allowed for high school play. Most USSSA leagues still allow BBCOR bats however, as the BBCOR standard is lower than USSSA's, but you will have to check with your league rules to be sure. The Marucci Cat 7 is a very good performing BBCOR model, however, and one of the best performers this year.
Kyle J.
Which bat has more pop: (CAT 6 or CAT 7)? whatitdo806
I would say that this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) will probably have a little more performance to it. The reason I say this is because this CAT 7 features new AZ4X Alloy that is stronger and has a higher response rate. As well, the sweet spot on this CAT 7 is designed to be nearly twice as big as the sweet spot on the CAT 6.
Ben
My son is 13 5'5 @ 140 lbs and swings a 32/29 Easton Z-Core. His bat speed is kinda slow considering he is new to the BBCOR bat. What size do you recommend for the CAT 7? Moku
Based on your players height and weight, we suggest a 31" model of the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7.
Jason
I am 4'9" and 85 pounds, what size would you recommend? bomeaks
If you need a BBCOR bat which is what is used for high school and college age players, then we would recommend a 29" length for someone your size.
Kyle J.
What size bat would you recommend for a 5'6", 140 pound freshmen who is more of a power hitter than contact hitter? nick
We would recommend a 32-33" length for someone that size.
Kyle J.
Is there a balance difference between the Cat 6 and the Cat 7? Is one more balanced than the other? C B
Balance wise these bats should be very similar.
Kyle J.
My son is 5'7" tall, 125 lbs, and a 13 year old with long arms. Do you recommend the 31/28 or 32/29 in the Cat 7? JK7
We would recommend the 31" length of bat for his size.
Kyle J.
I am 13 years old and I'm 5'3" and about 90 pounds but I am strong for my size. I have been swinging BBCOR and wood for a year now so I'm looking into new bats for my high school season next year. What size and weight do you recommend? mitch
Based on your height and weight, as well as considering age, we would recommend getting the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in a 31 inch model.
Cameron
My 13 year old son is 5'8" and 160 lbs. Should I go with the 32/30 or 31/29? Anthony
We would suggest a 32"/29 oz, but a 31"/28 oz size could work as well depending on personal preference and other factors, such as how far he stands from the plate, his swing efficiency, etc.
Kyle J.
How does the Rawlings 2016 VELO compare to this on pop and balance wise? Phillie baseball
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 isn't quite as balanced as the Velo, but would feature similar performance.
Logan
Does this bat have better pop than the 2016 Rawlings Velo? Phillie Baseball
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 and the Rawlings VELO are both great bats that have shown both durability and pop measures that are favorable for those hitters that are using the bats. Pop is one of personal opinion though and it would be tough to prove which one of these bats would be better with regards to pop.
Cameron
I'm 15 years old, 5'8" and 155 lb. What size should I get? Ricky Jr
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in a 32''.

Based on your height and weight we would recommend a 31"/28 ounce 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7).
Carter
My son is about 5'6" and 14 years old. Would you recommend a 31"/28 oz or 32"/29 oz size of the CAT 7? CJaz
For most 14 year olds, we suggest a 32" BBCOR bat. Because of that, I would probably recommend looking to the 32"/29 oz size of this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7). Even if it is a little large for your son, he can definitely grow into that size with a little time.
Ben
Does this bat (CAT 7) need to broken in, or is it hot right out the wrapper? whatitdo806
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 features an alloy design and it is hot out of the wrapper. It does not require a break-in period.
Jason
How does this bat compare to the 2016 Rawlings VELO, the 2017 Easton Z-CORE Speed and the 2017 Rawlings 5150? Dave
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) is very comparable to the bats that you listed above. They all feature one piece aluminum designs and are all high end bats. The Cat 7 and the Velo are probably the most balanced of all of those options. The Marucci Cat 7 has been the top rated bat all of all of these are is our top selling BBCOR Baseball bat at this point in time (4/23/2017).
Carter
My son is 13 years old and 5'10" and roughly 140 pounds. He currently swings with a 33" drop 5 bat and has been asking for another bat. I want to get him a bat that he can use for a year or two, as he will be starting high school in the fall. What would be your recommendations, as he has another 2-4 more years of growing to do and will probably hit a height of 6' in the next year or so. He is a contact hitter but I see the potential to be a power hitter as well. Dally
Based on what you told us and his height and weight we would recommend the 32"/29 ounce 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) as a great option for years to come.
Carter
What is the difference between the Marucci Cat 7 and the Easton White out? Also which bat has a larger barrel? bsbaseball18
The biggest difference is that the Easton and Marucci use different alloy technology. Marucci uses their AZ4X alloy, while the Easton uses their HMX alloy tech. The barrel lengths should be fairly similar.
Kyle J.
My son is 13 but on the smaller side. He has a DeMarini Voodoo End loaded 30" 27 oz, but it's too much to swing. Looking for a BBCOR bat for smaller players. Would the CAT 7 be the best bat for smaller players? Joe
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is going to be considerably easier to swing than the end loaded Voodoo Insane due to its well balanced design . It would be a good option for smaller players.
Logan
My son is 13 1/2, 5 ft 3 inches tall and weighs 120 lbs. What size bat should he use? He wants a 32 in but he is using a 31 now. jess

Carter

Yes, the performance on the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 and the limited edition model will be the same. The only difference is cosmetic.
Tori
Is this bat balanced all the way through the barrel and handle? Also, is this a lighter version of a drop three? r44
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) is one of the most balanced bats on the market today. This bat is also a BBCOR model, which means that it does feature a -3 drop weight.
Tessa
What's a good bat for high school for a 14 year old? Allan
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is our most popular and one of our highest rated BBCOR baseball bats, so I would highly recommend it. At that age, I would suggest a 32" size.
Logan
I am 5'3" and I have to transition to BBCOR. What size should I get? LQ
Based on your height, we would recommend getting the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in a 31 inch model.
Cameron
My son is 5'9" and 160+ lbs. What length and weight do you recommend? Craig
Based on your players height and weight, we suggest a 32" 29 oz model of the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7.
Jason
I'm 5'11" and 195 lbs. I currently swing a 32/29. Should I move up to a 33/30 with the CAT 7? Luke S.
Based on your height and weight, it would be beneficial to get the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in a 33/30.
Cameron
Does this bat have the new USABat stamp because if it doesn't we cant use it anymore. j knoth
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 will not feature the USABat stamp. This stamp will be applied to youth models of bats and there will not be a bat featuring both a BBCOR and USABat stamp on it.
Cameron
What's the difference between this Cat 7 and the Two piece model? Which Model provides more permanence? Are they the same? Justin
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is a one piece full alloy design whereas the Marucci CAT 7 Connect is a two piece half and half design. As for performance, they are going to be very comparable.
Cooper
How does this bat compare to the DeMarini Voodoo One, with balance, feel, and pop? Rich
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 and Voodoo One are both balanced bats with a one-piece alloy construction. Both bats are excellent for power hitters and BBCOR certified. Our users who reviewed these bats often prefer the general feel of the Cat 7, but I wouldn't say one has anyone pop than the other.
Trevor
I am a 16 year old that is 5'8" and 145 lbs, what size should I get? CCHSDONS8
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 32" model of the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7.
Jason
My son is in his first year of Babe Ruth league, 13 yrs old, 5 foot 1, 110 pounds. Can you recommend a bat size for him in BBCOR? Youth big barrel? Last year's Little League bat was a 30 inch 19 ounce MAKO. contact hitter
If you were wanting a BBCOR bat I would recommend the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) in the 30"/27 ounce size.
Carter
I am 16 years old, 5'8", 190 pound, strong guy, what size should I get? Eddie
For the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 I would recommend the 33 inch model.
Trevor
I am 14 going into high school, 5'2" and 102 lbs. Should I get the CAT 7 in 31 in 28 oz or a 30 in 27 oz? lucas
Based on your height and weight, I would suggest a 30" 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7.
Logan
Is this bat a bat more for a power hitter or is it more for a contact hitter? JJ
The Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is both suitable for both contact and power hitters. It does feature a more balance weight distribution.
Max
I am a contact hitter which bat am I better off with the Louisville slugger Omaha 517 BBCOR or the Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR bat? JJ
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is great for power hitters. I wouldn't necessarily say one is better than the other for power hitters.
Trevor
(1) Is this bat similar to a wood bat in terms of how it feels when you swing? (2) Does this bat have small sweet spot? JJ
(1) Unfortunately, I would not be able to say that this bat will feel similar to swinging a wood baseball bat. It is very hard to make comparisons between wood and metal baseball bats as the feel is quite different at contact. (2) Actually, the CAT 7 features a larger sweet spot than its predecessor the CAT 6 (which was rated really well). I would have to comment that the sweet spot on the CAT 7 should be pretty large.
Ben
Is this bat end-loaded or balanced? je
This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) will be balanced in its swing weight.
Ben
(1) My 13 1/2 year old son is 6'3 and 145 lbs, which size of bat would you recommend? (2) And does this bat come with the USSSA sticker on it? 3up3down
(1) If your player is required to swing BBCOR bats, I would suggest getting a CAT 7 BBCOR bat in the 33"/30 oz size (based upon a 6'3" height and 145 lb weight). However, if you think the smaller 32"/29 oz size would be best for starting out, I think that that smaller size would be fine. (2) This bat will not have USSSA certification on it.
Ben
What is the best bat size for the size of 4'8"? Zay
If you are seeking to get the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 for a player who is 4'8" then I would go with the smallest size offered and that would be 30 inches.
Cameron
My son is 13, 5'4" and weighs 115 lbs. He's making the transition to Babe Ruth and needs a new bat. What size would you recommend? baseball mom
If your player is going to be required to swing a BBCOR bat in his Babe Ruth league next year, I would recommend looking at this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) in the 30" or 31" length.
Ben
Will the Marucci CAT 7 be legal to use in District 52 Little League? Philly Phanatic
According to the CA 52 Little League website, only bats with the USA stamp will be approved for play in Little League during the 2018 season. The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 does not feature that stamp, as no bats currently do, so it would be illegal for use in Little League in that district.
Logan
I'm going into high school next year and I'm 5'2 and 115 lbs and I want a bat that can last me 2 seasons. I'm strong for my size and swing a 31 inch bat. Devin
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is a great bat to consider for high school. Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting this bat in a 30 inch model but if you want something to last a couple seasons, and you feel capable, then a 31 inch bat would be a better choice.
Cameron
I am a 15 year old going into my sophomore year of high school later this year. I am 6 ft and 140 pounds and looking into buying this bat. What size would you recommend? I now swing a 2017 COMBAT MAXUM 32/29. Luke
With the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 I would suggest the 33'' 30 oz.
Max
I am 5'4 163 lbs. I'm about to be a freshman in hs. I swung a 30 inch bat last year. And was wondering what size bat I should get that will last me for multiple seasons? J. Harper
I would take a look at getting the 32'' 29 oz with the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7.
Max
If the end-cap slightly comes off will that affect the bat? BIG PAPI
If the end-cap is coming off of this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) and you are under the 12 month manufacturer's warranty, then you will probably want to reach out to Marucci and organize the process of returning the bat for a warranty replacement. You can can begin the process through the following link: (https://warranty.maruccisports.com/).
Ben
Son just turned 15 years old, is 5'6" and around 125 lbs. He has moderate strength and is a contact hitter. Just Bats chart recommends 32". I was thinking that may be a little too much (Just finished season using 30"/-5.). What do you think? Dad
The recommendation made by the JustBats' Bat Coach will be a general recommendation. If you feel like your player is better off using a 30" or 31" size of this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7), that would be completely fine. However, I would keep in mind that he would probably grow out of the 30" or 31" size of the CAT 7 a lot quicker than the 32" size.
Ben
Is this bat balanced? jessie
Yes, this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) will feature a balanced swing feel on it.
Ben
Will Marucci release a CAT 8? TommyT
It has not been released if Marucci will release a CAT 8.
Max
Is this the best Marucci bat? muffin
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is certainly a great bat that Marucci has designed. As to whether or not this is their "best" bat, that would be more up to personal opinion. Looking at the reviews on this bat, it is rated very highly.
Cameron
Which is a better bat, the Marucci Cat 7 or the Easton Mako Big Barrel? I always hear about the Easton, but last night a friend told me about the Marucci Cat 7. Said he really likes it.Trying to decide for my 13 year old, which is a better fit for him? Tommy
It would be hard to say one is better than the other, as both are great options. The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is very well balanced, and with its alloy design, there is no break in period. The Easton Mako will feature a little larger sweet spot, and will need to be broken in before you see the best performance out of the bat.
Logan
What's the difference between this Cat 7 and the DeMarini CF Zen -3 bats? For what kind of player would the Marucci bat be better and for what kind of player would the DeMarini be better? 13u baseball
This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) and the DeMarini CF Zen will be different in their general design. The CAT 7 will be a one-piece, all-alloy bat. The CF Zen will be a two-piece, all-composite bat. Both bats are pretty balanced in their swing feel. I think a power or contact hitter could excel with either bat depending upon the player's preferences for a bat.
Ben
Looking to purchase either a Marucci Cat7 or Marucci Hex Connect. In your opinion which one is the better of the two? Son is 10. Looking to get either 29/19 or 30/20. None
I would recommend going with the 2017 Marucci Cat 7 Senior League Baseball Bat.
Max
I am 5'3" and 12 years old. What size bat should I get? joshua knoth
If you are being required to swing a BBCOR bat at 12 years old, I would recommend going with this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) in a smaller 30" or 31" length.
Ben
Do you think the Rawlings Velo and the Cat 7 bats are similar? Which one do you think is better? joshua knoth
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 and the Rawlings Velo are very similar bats, so it would be hard to say one is better than the other. The Velo seems to be a bit more balanced than the Cat 7, but the Cat 7 offers a little larger sweet spot. Either bat would be a great option.
Logan
How many seasons would this bat last if our season is 40 games long? long ball
If you only used it for practice and games during the season and not year round, you should be able to get 2-3 seasons out of the bat if proper care is taken. Some exceptions are always a possibility however, and some bats can last 4-5 seasons while others may only last one.
Kyle J.
I'm 5'4" and 13 years old. Is this bat in a 32/29 a good size? Sherri Helm
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is a one-piece all alloy model featuring a balanced swing weight. This makes the bat a great option for any type of hitter. With that said, a 32 inch model may be too big for someone that is 13 years of age and is 5'4". It will ultimately come down to your overall strength and what weight you can handle successfully.
Cameron
I want a new bat for my travel league. Is that CAT 7 worth $50 more than the CAT 6? AndrewTheDingerKid
If that is worth extra money is really going to vary from person to person.
Carter
My son is 14, 5'7" and 135 lbs. He used a 2016 DeMarini Voodoo (31"/22 oz) as a 13 year old. Next year for AAU he needs to use a BBCOR bat. I would like to get him swinging a BBCOR soon. His swing is a bit long so my guess is a balanced BBCOR would be right for him. What are your thoughts between the 2017 Cat 7 and the 2018 Voodoo Balanced? David
Both this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) and the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXVBC) will feature balanced swing feels. However, this CAT 7 has tons of reviews and the reviews are of pretty excellent quality. My general suggestion would be to go with the CAT 7 in the 31"/28 oz size.
Ben
Is Marucci coming out with a new model this year that will compare to the Cat 7? kcchief
Marucci does not have any plans to release a 2018 model similar to the Cat 7, so the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 will be the latest model.
Logan
First season with the BBCOR for my 13 year old. He's 5'5" 115 lbs using a 32" bat. We bought an AXE bat (I think elite?) The blue one not realizing it's end loaded. Will this Marucci help his bat speed and be more balanced than the AXE? KDN
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) is a lot more balanced than the Axe. It will help his bat speed due to the balanced aspect.
Mick
Is the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR legal under the new 2018 Babe Ruth Bat rules? Darryl
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is legal for both the 13-15 and 16-18 year old divisions of Babe Ruth for the remainder of 2017 and it will still be legal for play under the new 2018 rules.

Can you compare this Cat 7 BBCOR to the 2018 Demarini Voodoo One BBCOR? In one more balanced or end loaded than the other, which would have more pop, which swings lighter, etc.. Mike
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 and the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVBC are very similar in terms of feel and performance with both being one piece alloy baseball bats. Many players feel as though the Cat 7 is very well balanced, so I would give it the slight edge over the Voodoo One in that regard. Both are going to offer the same pop with the BBCOR certification.
Logan
Do you know what would have the bigger sweet spot between this bat and 2018 Demarini Voodoo One BBCOR? What about hand vibration comparison for those 2 bats? Mike
It's difficult to say if one has a bigger sweet spot than the other. However, the sweet spot on the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is twice as large as the previous model, the Cat 6. With regard to vibration, both feature a one piece design that will result in similar vibration.
Dan
I am 5'3" and 110 lbs, what length of this bat should I get? Dinger Smasher
Based on your players height and weight, we suggest a 30" model of the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7.
Jason
My son is 11, 5 foot 1, and 100 pounds. He has swung a 31/21 for the last year trying to figure out whether or not to move him to a drop 5 or drop 3 and what length. He might play park ball which is dizzy dean and they go by new bat rules and travel ball in the spring so I need a bat that can be used for both too. Dan
I recommend a 31 inch bat for your player. I wouldn't recommend a -3 bat until your player reaches the high school level. Typically, the player should be swinging a -8 in 7th grade, a -5 in 8th grade, and then a -3 in high school.
Dan
My son is 13, 7th grade, weighs 145 and is 4 ft 4 in. What size bat should he get? M88
I would recommend a bat with a drop 8 weight and a length of 30 inches for a 7th grader. The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBYC78 would be a great option.
Dan
I am a 6 ft 1 sophomore and 175 pounds. I've been swinging a 32 inch. Would you guys recommend moving up to the 33 inch? kam
Yes, moving up to a 33" would be a great choice for someone your height and weight.
Mick
My son is a sophomore and just grew 9 inches to 6'3." He had a 32.5" bat, but hit too many off the end. Would moving to a 34" help? Also, he used a Louisville Slugger 517. How does Cat 7 compare? Grant
Based on your player's height, I would suggest a 34" length, which would certainly help him get more barrel on the ball. The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is going to offer a very similar feel and performance to the 517, but will offer a little larger sweet spot for an alloy bat.
Logan
My son is 5 ft 5 inches and weighs 125 pounds. He is 13 and in 7th grade. He currently uses a drop 10 31 inch but his coach thinks it is too light for him. Any suggestions? He is on a elite travel team if that matters at all. none
Considering that your son in now 13 I would suggest transitioning to a heavier bat to begin getting acclimated to a bat with a little bit more weight before he hits high school and has to swing a -3. You may want to look into the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect -5 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBCC75) 31in/26oz bat as it has been getting great reviews.
Tyler
Should I purchase the CAT 7 for my future freshmen or should I wait for a newer version? He is currently an 8th grader starting to train for high school. T
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is a great option for someone learning to hit with BBCOR baseball bats and Marucci does not have any plans to come out with a newer version this year. I would definitely recommend the Cat 7.
Carter
I am 14, 5'11" and 150 pounds. I am in 8th grade and have to use a -3. What size should I get? clay
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 32" model of the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7.
Jason
Yes, I know they are similar bats, but if you had to choose: Cat 7 or Cat 6? bacon sauage
Performance wise one bat is not better than the other, but the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 does feature a newer AZ4X alloy that gives the bat a longer barrel and bigger sweet spot.
Jason
(1) How long will this bat last me? (2) Is this more of a power bat than the Louisville Select 718? Baseball Guy
(1) Unfortunately, we are unable to give life span projections for bats. However, this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) does come with a 12 month manufacturer's warranty period if the bat should break within 12 months of the purchase date. (2) The Select 718 will be considered more of a power bat as it has a bit of an end-loaded swing feel while this CAT 7 is more balanced in its feel.
Ben
I'm 5 foot 3 and 100 pounds and in 8th grade. What size CAT 7 should I get? I'm often very early on my swing. Tyler g
Based on your height and weight, as well as factoring in your age, we would recommend getting the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in a 30 inch model.
Cameron
Is there a recommended temperature to hit with the CAT 7? joey
At JustBats.com, we do not recommend using the Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) in temperatures below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Check out our blog post on cold weather bat care: https://blog.justbats.com/can-i-use-my-bat-in-cold-weather
JP
Is it a drop 8 or below? Ethan
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 features a -3 length to weight ratio.
Logan
Is this bat USSSA approved? Corn
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 will be allowed for USSSA play this year. However, this bat is held to a higher standard than USSSA requires, and therefore will be a slightly lower performing bat than one that is held to the USSSA standards. Maybe check out the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC75, which will offer the same one-piece alloy construction with a higher level of performance.
Tyler
First year of 7th-8th grade baseball. He's played his whole life and is considering the Cat 7 for this season. I just want to get best bat to reach his full potential. He's 5"4' tall and 130 lbs. thompson7
The Marucci Cat 7 is an excellent bat and was one of our best selling and highest rated bats in 2017, so it would be a great choice.
Kyle J.
Why is it that college guys prefer aluminum bats like this more then composite? scotty
One-piece bats are stiffer in comparison to a two-piece bat and will offer less flex during a player"s swing. These bats tend to be geared more toward a power hitter with above average swing speed. Typically, college players won't need extra swing speed at that level and will prefer the durability of a bat like the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7.
Dan
Can you please weigh the 31' 2017 CAT 7? 72bulldog
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 will feature a static weight of roughly 1.1 ounces heavier than listed weight.
Cameron
What bat would you suggest for a freshman who is 5"8' and 146 lbs? dad
Based on your player's height and weight, I think this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) in a 32"/29 oz size would be a great option.
Taylor
I'm 5'4" and 115 pounds. Should I get a 31 inch or a 32 inch? John
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in a 31 inch model.
Cameron
My son is almost 6' and 165 at 15 yrs old. What size bat would you suggest in the CAT 7? Terryb
Based on your sons height and weight we would recommend a 32"/29 ounce 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7.
Carter
I am 5 foot 8 inches tall. What length CAT7 should I use? CeeganBob
We base our recommendations for the length of a bat on a player's height and weight. It's hard to say what is best for you without knowing your weight. What is the difference in -3 or -10 on the bats? Sam
The 'drop' as some may call it, the number with the minus in front of it as others call it, or the length-to-weight ratio. What this term defines is the difference between the length of the bat in inches and the weight of the bat in ounces. The larger the number, the lighter the bat. For example, The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 features a -3 drop weight so a 30" bat will weigh 27 ounces. In comparison, the 2018 Marucci CAT 7 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC7X10 features a -10 drop weight so a 30" bat would weigh 20 ounces.
Dan
What are some good bat choices for a balanced BBCOR bat? Top alloy and composite bats for a balance swing? Big Ja
For starters, this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 would actually be my top choice for a BBCOR aluminum balanced bat. Furthermore, Marucci doesn't make a composite BBCOR bat, but I would look into some composite options like the Easton Ghost X, Prime 918, and DeMarini CF Zen.
Tyler
Should I get the Marucci CAT 7 or the LS Prime 918? Zach
Both the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 and the LS Prime 918 are excellent bats to consider. These bats are constructed differently in that the CAT 7 is one-piece alloy model featuring a balanced swing weight while the LS Prime 918 is a two-piece composite. It really comes down to personal preference and whether or not you prefer the feel of a two-piece bat and the sound of composite versus alloy.
Cameron
How does the Cat 7 compare to the LS Omaha 518? Based on balance, pop, vibration, etc? Johnnnnnnny
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 and the 2018 Louisville Slugger Omaha 518 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO518B3 are very similar from a construction standpoint. The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 features AZ4X Alloy which is considered to be very strong and responsive. The 2018 Louisville Slugger Omaha 518 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO518B3 features ST 7U1 Alloy which delivers a larger sweet spot and tends to be more stiff. From a vibration standpoint, the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 features a new AV2 Knob that helps minimize negative vibration. Lastly, the 2018 Louisville Slugger Omaha 518 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO518B3 features a new 6-Star Premium Performance end cap which might give it an edge from a balance standpoint.
Dan
What length of bat would you recommend? My son is 13 and is 5'9" and weighs 140 lbs. Duffer
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend swinging the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in a 32 inch model.
Cameron
What length of bat would you recommend? My son is 12 and is 5'0" and weighs 100 lbs. mngobbler
Based on your player's height and weight, I would suggest a 30" 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 if your player is required to swing a -3 BBCOR baseball bat.
Logan
My son is a 16 year old and is 5'11" and 150 lbs. What size bat would you recommend? Johnnnnnnny
We would recommend a 32" length for his height and weight.
Kyle J.
Could you tell me the weight of the bat? jo
This bat is a -3 drop like all BBCOR bats. For example, this means a 33" bat would weigh 30 oz.
Kyle J.
I cannot decide between the CAT 6 and CAT 7. I am 5"7' 150 lbs. I have quick hands and am strong for size and age (16). I don't hit for power, I hit for contact and base hits. Which do you recommend? Bman
Both the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 and the CAT 6 model would work well for a contact hitter as both bats feature a balanced swing weight design. For most, the CAT 7 feels slightly better balanced due to the new AZ4X alloy being used. As for the correct size to get, based on your height and weight a 32 inch model would be ideal.
Cameron
My son is turning 13, 5'7" and 130 lbs. It's his 1st season having to use a drop -3. Should he swing a 31 inch or 32 inch? Mike D
Based on your player's height, weight and age I would recommend getting the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in a 31 inch model.
Cameron
My son is 14 years old, he is 5'0" and he weighs about 170. What length of bat should I get him? Also, this bat is a BBCOR 2 5/8" barrel, is that too small? Mas kol
We would recommend a 32" or 33" length for his height and weight. All BBCOR bats will have a 2 5/8" barrel diameter, so it is the correct size. 2 3/4" is not allowed in BBCOR leagues or high school.
Kyle J.
My son is 5" tall and 100 lbs, going into 8th grade. He played 13/14 fall league and will play 13/14 Summer 2018. He also travels. I can"t decide on a BBCOR 30/27 or a USA 31/26. Coach B
I think the USA baseball bat in a 31"/26 oz might be better in the short term since it seems about right for his size, although you would need a BBCOR model once he gets into high school, so if you don't want to buy a second bat a year from now I would go with the BBCOR.
Kyle J.
I am 15 and 6"1 at 200 lbs. Should I be swinging the 33 or 34 inch bat? Ryan
Either option would work for your size, it mostly depends on personal preference. Other factors to consider are how far you stand from the plate, hand placement on the bat, strength, etc.
Kyle J.
My son is almost 15 and is 5'4" and weighs 125 - 135 pounds. He is moving from a drop 10, 30" bat to a BBCOR. I would prefer to get him a 32" so he can use into high school ball and not have to purchase again next year, but do you think that is too big of a change? Becky
Based off the information you've provided, I would recommend the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in a 31" length. It will be a fairly big jump to go from a -10 to a -3 but as your player grows and works with the bat, he will become more comfortable with it.
Dan
My son has been using a 31"/21 oz bat and needs to move to a BBCOR. He is almost 15 years old, 5'4" and weighs 125 - 135 pounds. I would prefer to get him a 32" so he can use it for a while, but do you think that is too big of a change? Becky
It will be a large change regardless of what size you choose since you are jumping from a -10 to a -3. We generally recommend players using a -5 or -8 a year before high school just to lessen that jump. I think both a 31" or a 32" would work for a BBCOR model, and it would be mostly down to personal preference.
Kyle J.
Any update coming in 2018 to the Marucci BBCOR CAT 7 one-piece bat? Mike
We are not aware of any upcoming changes to the current 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7.
Cameron
What is the barrel size? g
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) features a 2 5/8" barrel.
John
I am 5' 4" and 14 years old. What size would you recommend? jack
We would probably recommend a 31" length for your height and age.
Kyle J.
My son needs to go to BBCOR and we were looking at the 30' Cat 7 or the Solo 618. He is currently using a 30' -5 Cat 7 and is a contact hitter. Which bat do you think will work best? AC
Considering your player is already playing, and comfortable, with the Cat 7 model, I would recommend the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7. This bat has extremely consistent performance off the barrel and the AV2 knob is in place to negate vibrations felt upon contact, allowing for more comfortable use.
Tyler
I am a 14u player, can I use this bat for high school? buddy
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is a great bat to use in high school; all high school players are required to swing BBCOR models.
Cameron
(1) What's a better overall bat: Cat 6, Cat 7 or Velo? (2) Best value? (3) Looking for a bat to compliment my Quatro. Should I search for a light-weight, two-piece bat? canes ball
(1) The best rated bat between the bats being considered is the Cat 7. (2) I think the VELO gives the best combo of price ($179.99) and performance (5 out of 5 average rating in all categories). (3) You don't have to have another two-piece bat since you already have a Quatro. I think any of these bats would be another decent bat to have in your bag along with the Quatro.
Ben
Which thickness is the stock grip on the bat? I need to wrap it for a lefty. It feels thick. jenidralph
Marucci does not specifically list the grip tape thickness, but their models appear to come with a 1.1 mm grip tape thickness. To wrap it for a lefty, just reverse the standard tape direction that is found on most models, as they are wrapped for the more common right handed player.
Kyle J.
If I'm 5'11 (171 lbs) and a constant hitter then would you recommend me to the connect instead? Rusty
Whether to get the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 or the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 is more personal preference. Generally speaking, a hitter that is more of a contact hitter may benefit more from the overall balanced swing weight of the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7.
Cameron
Is this bat legal for the senior division of Little League? Walkerrr
The senior league of Little League requires players to use BBCOR certified bats. This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) will feature that certification and can be used in the senior league.
Taylor
I have a 10 year old playing minor division, he"s 5"4' and goes 170lbs. He"s killing the ball and along with that denting bats! We"ve went through 3 already! Just hit a 210 foot Home Run out of a major field. What kind of bat should he get that"ll be somewhat indestructible for him. We just got him a 32' -8 and that"s what he hit that HR with he likes the weight but the aluminum alloy isn"t holding up to his hitting any recommendations would be appreciated? Big Frank
I would recommend at getting your 10 year old a -5 in the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC75. This bat at this weight will hold up and not dent and I don't believe will be too heavy, as the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 most likely would be.
Max
My son won't be 14 until April and plays 14U and is going into 8th grade. He is already 5'11" and 135 pounds. Which bat size would you recommend? Q
I would probably recommend a 32" length for his current height and weight, or a 33" size if you want something he'll be able to grow into.
Kyle J.
Son has used a Cat 7 MSBC75 -5, but needs to move to BBCOR. Did real well with this year with current bat. He is 5'7", 140 lbs, and will be 14 years old in August 2018. Loves the balanced weight of current bat. Any recommendation between the MCBC7 or MCBC8? What's the difference and will it be a huge adjustment to go to BBCOR -3 from what he has? Mums
The Marucci Cat 8 (MCBC8) is a new release, so we don't have full information just yet when it comes to a high number of reviews, but early indications seem to show that the alloy used in the Cat 8 are an improvement over the 2017 Marucci Cat 7 (MCBC7). The jump to BBCOR is certainly an adjustment period for most players, since BBCOR models will not have the pop that USSSA models do, along with the extra weight of the bat with it being a -3.
Kyle J.
My son is moving from a drop 5 end loaded bat to a BBCOR bat this fall. He is 5'4" and weighs 190. His coach wants him to go with a 31" length, but we can not decide between the CAT 7 and a Rawlings Velo. Any recommendation would be appreciated. I have analyzed your bat exit speed data and still can not decide. TJ
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 would be a great option if you are looking for a balanced high performing BBCOR models. It was one of the most popular BBCOR's that has came out and I would imagine your son transitioning to the BBCOR will enjoy the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7.
Max
Since a bat designated as BBCOR certified has met the standard for the coefficient of restitution, how can the bat "pop" be different between BBCOR certified bats? Won't all bats certified under this standard have the exact same "pop"? RobL
That is very accurate. Basically all BBCOR certified bats, including the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7, will offer similar performance, just a difference in feel from one bat to the next in terms of swing weight, stiffness, and vibration.
Logan
Is this bat balanced? danny colon
Yes, the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is a balanced model bat.
Tyler
The 30 inch bat is it 2 5/8 or 2 1/4? Jerry
The 30" option of the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 will have a 2 5/8 barrel diameter.
Daveron
Is the CAT 7 better than the F5 as far as barrel length and performance goes? John
Both the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 are good choices. Both will perform well. The CAT series is Marucci's higher end alloy model and tends to be more popular.
Tori
Is this as good as the Prime 918 or the Quatro? I've narrowed it down to these three but I'm trying to save some money. Will this bat perform as well as any other BBCOR bat? Mary
The Marucci Cat 7 BBCOR was one of our best selling and best reviewed bats for the last year or two, as you can see by the customer reviews and the rating it has been given. I would highly recommend this model and it will perform as well as just about any BBCOR on the market.
Kyle J.
How does this compare to the CAT 6? Does this have a really balanced swing weight? Would you recommend this for a smaller kid and first time using BBCOR? Jack
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 will compare very closely to the CAT 6 because it is the following years model. The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 will be one of the more balanced models on the market and would be a great option for a first time BBCOR user looking for a lightweight feel.
Max
Does it have the USA stamp? Rudy McNease
No, the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is BBCOR certified and does not have a USA stamp.
Tori
My 14 yo son is 5"7", 111 lbs. He is a freshman on the high school team so he won't get much playing time, but I want to buy him a bat anyway. I have heard nothing but good things about this bat. What size do you recommend? Do you recommend the 1 piece or 2 piece for him? Scott Lozeau
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 would be a good option for a freshman, starting to play high school baseball. I would recommend swinging the 31'' 28 oz in the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 based upon his height and weight. The one piece alloy such as the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 will be very balanced perfect for a freshman getting used to the new weight.
Max
Is this legal for play in Junior high Baseball this year? BIlly joe
If your Junior High league allows BBCOR stamped bats, then yes this will be legal.
Kyle J.
Can you use this bat in USSSA? Joseph Herman
Under USSSA rules, this Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) will be allowed for use since it has the stricter BBCOR certification on it.
Ben
Which has more pop the Rawlings Velo, the Marucci Cat 7, or the Easton Mako Beast? B
All three models will have similar pop due to the BBCOR certification restricting the max pop allowed. That said, the Marucci Cat 7 has probably been the better overall bat for us, both in terms of sales and customer reviews. It seems to have good vibration dampening for a one-piece alloy model, a generous sweet spot and good balance.
Kyle J.
Do you need to break in the CAT 7? Kyle swift
Due to have an aluminum barrel, you should not have to worry about breaking in this Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7). It should perform at top level out of the wrapper.
Ben
I’m 13 years old, 5’1" tall, 90 lbs, and making the switch to BBCOR for school ball this year. Would you recommend this bat or another one? If so, which one(s)? Chet Lowman
This would be one of my top recommendations for a player looking for a well balanced bat. As you can see by our customer reviews it seems to be performing very well. Another bat I would also recommend for someone just starting with BBCOR would be the Rawlings VELO BBCOR, as it is also a very well balanced, light swinging model that suits younger BBCOR players well.
Kyle J.
Does this bat qualify for Ohio high school baseball rules? art fehr
Yes, this Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) has BBCOR certification and should be allowed under high school baseball rules for the state of Ohio.
Ben
My son is 11 and is 4'11" and 85 pounds. This will be his first BBCOR bat for Middle School. He currently uses a 30" USA bat for his rec league. Should we move him up to a 31" or stick with a 30"? His USA bat is 20 oz. What are your thoughts on a 31" and 28 oz? Mary
Per the player's height, weight and age, as well as factoring in the weight of their most recent bat, it would be best to get the Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in a 30 inch model.
Cameron
My son is 13 yo, about 125 lbs, and is 5’4. What length bat should I get for him? DJ
With the player specs listed, the Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in a 30" option would be recommended.
Daveron
How does the Cat 6 2nd Gen compare to the Cat 7? Braxton
The Cat 6 Gen 2 is the same bat as the regular Cat 6 with the exception being the cosmetic look of the 2 bats. Because of that, the Cat 7 will technically have upgraded AZ4X alloy material and it will also have the optimized barrel design that is supposed to create a bigger sweet spot on the Cat 7 when compared to the Cat 6.
Ben
What is the difference between the CAT 7 and the CAT 6? Richard
The difference between the Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 and the CAT 6 models can be found in the alloy that was used. The CAT 7, with the use of the AZ4X alloy, will feature a more balanced swing weight design.
Cameron
What year is this? Brandon
The Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 was first released in 2016 so it would be a 2017 model.
Cameron
For a contact hitter which of these would you recommend getting, a Rawlings 2018 VELO or the Marucci CAT 7? What would be the biggest difference in performance between them? Allie
Honestly, you can't really go wrong with either model. Both bats are some of the best reviewed and best performing one-piece alloy models. Both will have a balanced swing weight. The Marucci Cat 7 should provide slightly better vibration dampening with its AV2 performance knob, while the Rawlings VELO should have a slightly lighter feeling swing to it, but those are the only real differences.
Kyle
What is the difference between this white Cat 7 and the Black Cat 7? Are they the same just different look? Daniel Hayden
The Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is the same bat as the Black CAT 7 minus the colorway design.
Cameron
Is there any difference between this and the black CAT 7 besides color? Mike
There is no difference between the Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 and the Marucci Cat 7 Black BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7CB, other than the cosmetic design.
Cameron
Is this bat regulation for high school in Missouri? Jason
Yes, the Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is approved for high school play in Missouri.
Tori
How bad is the sing of the bat? Would you recommend for a 7th grader just getting acclimated to using BBCOR bats? Kyle
The Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 will do a much better job than most one-piece bats in cutting down on vibration/stinging of the hands when the ball is not squared up correctly. This is accomplished due to the AV2 knob design. Thus, this bat would be an excellent option for a middle school player transitioning to BBCOR bats.

At Marucci, they make their products the same way you play baseball: Hard work, determination, and attention to detail. This product is handcrafted. We are committed to never releasing a product before it meets the standard set forth by our wood bat. Our process is proven. The only way to achieve perfection is to accept nothing else. We first have gloves to Big Leaguers in our inner circle to break in and critique - knowing the extreme situations they would be put in. Players like Chase Utley allowed us to comprehend what a player needs and looks for in an ideal fielding glove. The Marucci player advisory board was integral in testing, tweaking, and ulitmatley perfecting the glove line to have the feel and features that matter to players. Understanding this professional standard of perfection has allowed us to handcraft a performance product that will last consistently maximize your game. Handcrafted, one by one, with the highest quality materials, for superior quality and feel, these gloves will require a gradual break-in period which provides a longer lasting form and shape. Professionally Inspired. Precision Crafted. Marucci: Honor the Game.
