After a long wait, the B3 finally makes its debut as a -5 senior league bat! COMBAT has wowed crowds and players alike over the years with some of the HOTTEST composite bats to ever hit the market. Expect nothing different this time around. The B3 SL features COMBAT's classic one-piece fully composite design. The B3 is made with Blended Fiber Technology, where Arimid fibers (found in bullet proof vests) are combined with the highest quality carbon and glass fibers in varying proportions and precise angles to get more trampoline effect and absorb vibrations. The premium grade carbon fiber used on the B3 produces the highest barrel reactivity of any bat COMBAT makes. This results in more energy transfer to the ball and greater distance. More Kevlar in the handle of the B3 also produces a stiffer feel than is found on the 52 Caliber. Through the use of Anistrophic Composite Technology, COMBAT was able to create a composite weave that enhances key parts of the barrel to optimize performance and extend durability. The sweetspot of the B3 is enlarged through the use of Variable Stiffness Technology which lowers barrel wall stiffness on each side. This gives players mega pop on every hit! Durability and solid construction are key to this year's COMBAT line. That is why they have added Nanocomp Technology to the B3. No, the 2013 COMBAT B3 is not legal for Babe Ruth. You can only use BBCOR composite barrel bats.

The 2013 COMBAT B3: B3SL1 is a one-piece full composite bat. The Easton XL1 is a two-piece full composite bat. Both have great pop and above average durability.

Unfortunately, the 2013 COMBAT B3 does not come in a -8. COMBAT does have the COMBAT 52 Caliber, 2013 COMBAT B4 Portent and the 2013 COMBAT Pure in a -8 length to weight ratio.

My son is 4'10" and about 80 lbs., small for his age but a good contact hitter. Playing 14 year old ball this year as a 13 year old and need the -5 drop. Would this be a good choice for him and what others would you look at? Also, what length should I be looking for? Thanks Don
Based on his size, a 30" -5 bat would be ideal. The 2013 COMBAT B3: B3SL1 -5 is a popular bat with a good size sweetspot and above average pop. Other top options in a -5 are the Marucci Black 2, Louisville Slugger Exogrid 3 and Rawlings Velo.

No, the 2013 COMBAT B3: B3SL1 -5 Senior League baseball bat is not end-loaded, however; because it is has a composite barrel you will need to break it in by hitting it off of a tee or through soft toss.

The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX EXOGRID 3 is known to have a lighter, more balanced swing weight compared to the 2013 COMBAT B3. Neither is proven to have more pop than the other, but due to the Exogrid 3 more balanced design, a player with average or below average swing speed should see more success with that bat over the B3. A stronger hitter would be better suited with the B3.

Under "Choose a Length & Weight" we show all the sizes we currently have in stock. If you do not see the size you need, then that indicates it is out of stock. We do not have an ETA as to when we will be receiving more 31" models of the B3SL1. It will probably be at least another 2-4 weeks.

Middle School baseball typically operates under USSSA rules. The 2013 COMBAT B3: B3SL1 -5 Senior League bat would be a good bat for a player competing in Middle School.

We purchased a 30" 20oz. COMbat Pure last year from you for my son, who is turning 12. He is 5'1" and 95lbs, and he has had great success with it. Looking to go to a big barrel, but I'm torn between the COMbat B3 and the Louisville Exogrid 3. He tends to have a lazy upper hand, so the less end weighted would likely be best. Theta
I really believe in the 2013 COMBATs B3 it has amazing pop. It is one of the only composite bats that are hot right out of the wrapper. The Louisville Exogrid 3 has been picking up a lot of speed of late. If you order a bat from us leave the wrapper on and hit soft toss with tennis balls. That can help you with the feel of the bat. If you don't approve you can return it.

The Anderson NanoTek XT and the 2013 COMBAT B3 are going to be very similar in performance. Both of these bats are balanced pretty well, but if you like a composite barrel better the COMBAT B3 is going to be the way to go.

We do not have a specific release date for any of the 2014 COMBATs. Also, the 2013 COMBAT B3: B3SL1 -5 Senior League has great pop.

2013 COMBAT B3: B3SL1 -5 Senior League features the same composite as the 2014 COMBAT Portent. The performance will be about the same. The one-piece composite design is favored by power hitters.

The 2013 COMBAT B3: B3SL1 -5 Senior League bat will feature a one-piece fully composite design. The 2012 Easton XL1 is a two-piece composite bat. It has a barrel heavy end loaded swing weight. Both will be very durable and have great pop.
