Description

For the past several years, the CF4 has dominated discussions about the hottest bats on the market. This year, DeMarini raises the stakes by introducing a completely revamped successor, aptly named the CF5. The CF5 is built on the principle of geometric perfection. DeMarini has unveiled a new composite material, called TR3 Strut Composite, that imitates the structure of crystals which are one of the strongest and most stable compounds on Earth. The triangle formation inside the barrel provides a fixed ratio of sides and angles so it's strong, stable and predictable - without any unnecessary weight! The molecular structure of the TR3 Strut handle is designed to efficiently transition power from the hands to the barrel to give players balance and consistency with every swing. This two-piece design is engineered durable with a very high strength to weight ratio, and light enough to be worthy of Stacked Composite walls. This bat is loaded with technology, end to end. The Clutch 2 Endcap is a dual density cap designed to maintain the stiffness of the barrel while dampening impact vibration to give players an amazing feel, hit after hit! The CF5 also features Half and Half Technology that redistributes weight to give the bat optimal balance. This gives players the ability to swing faster with less effort; ultimately resulting in more power! DeMarini: Insane Dedication to Performance! The CF5 is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Grand daughter loves this new bat. She had been hot and cold with her Rocketech. First time she used the CF5 was at nationals. She batted over 450 and #1 hitter on the team. Thanks to DeMarini.

Pros: This bat is AWESOME! Highly reccomend it. It's great for all ages, a bit heavy, but that's the way I like it. It's beautiful. After having the CF4 Insane I really like them both and decided that DeMarini is just an all around great company! I was in a slump and this bat helped me get out because of the confidence it gave me.

Cons: NONE!

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the DeMarini CF5 Fastpitch Softball Bat: DXCFF? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

My daughter got the CF3 when it first came out and hated the feel of the bat. If she missed a small sweet spot she felt alot of vibration. If she hit the sweet spot it was ususally a hard shot. She only hit with this bats in five tournaments. It was replaced with a Rocketech. How is the new CF5 compared to the old CF3? Slick
The CF5 is going to have more pop then the CF3 and is going to be a more durable bat. The technology in the CF4 and the CF5 is going to be better then the CF3. The CF5 has come a long ways since the CF3.
Brett
Other than color, what makes the CF5 different than the CF4? Are they pretty much the same bat? Scott
DeMarini did upgrade the composite material used in the CF5. It may not be the most noticeable difference, but their new TR3 composite material is supposed to be stronger and just as high performing.
John
My DD uses the PHENIX -10 but we can not find a bat similar to that. Does anyone know if any of the new bats are similar in makeup? BATCONFUSION
The FP12Z, the Zephyr is similar.

is this bat enloaded? softball24
No. DeMarini makes an endloaded bat called the Insane.
KG
Hi, I was just wondering if this bat should be okay for 2013? It has the USSSA stamp BPF 1.20? KAT
The 2012 DeMarini CF5 will be legal until September 1, 2013. After that date, all bats must have the new USSSA stamp.
Kara
What is the difference between the DXCFF and the DXCFP? hittersdad
The Demarini DXCFF has a length to weight ratio of -9, and DXCFP has a length to weight ratio of -10, so the -10 will swing lighter. For additional information feel free to contact our customer service at 1-866-321-2287.
Shelbe
How 'hot' is it right out of the wrapper? kidgil
The DeMarini CF5 DXCFF will have a decent amount of pop out of the wrapper although it will need to be broken in to get more pop off of the bat.
Sean
How does this bat compare to the 2012 Easton Stealth Speed: FP11ST9? PigPen27
Both the CF5 and Stealth Speed are two piece composites and balanced to increase swing speed.
Damon
What's the difference between a CF5 -8 and a CF5 -9? cara
The only difference is the drop. One is a -8 and one is a -9. The material is the same in both bats.
Kara
What does the two-piece composite do? cara
Two-piece bats help to reduce vibration upon contact with the ball and will have a flex feel at contact.
Tom
I'm confused about the certification. My daughter plays Division I college fastpitch. If I buy her this bat, is it approved for her to use? I didn't understand the comment about this bat being approved until Sept. What happens after Sept? Ann
The 2012 DeMarini CF5: DXCFF Fastpitch does not have the new USSSA stamp and will only be legal until September 1, 2013. Beyond that, all bats must have the new USSSA stamp.
John
I am trying to beside on whether to get the 2013 Easton FS3 or 2012 DeMarini CF5: DXCFF. I am on the high school team and was wondering which bat would be better for me i am a power hitter. pearls711
That's a difficult question to answer without knowing what bat you've used successfully in the past. It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate.
Tyler
When did this bat come out? rachel
The 2012 DeMarini CF5: DXCFF Fastpitch bat came out late in 2011.
Brandon
We're interested in the 31" 20 oz. Do you have that size? DB
The 2012 DeMarini CF5: DXCFF Fastpitch has been discontinued and we will not be getting anymore of those in.
Chad M.
Why has the Demarini CF5: DXCFF been discontinued? Roxae
The DeMarini CF5: DXCFF Fastpitch bat was discontinued because it is a 2012 model. DeMarini has recently released much newer models.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
