Description

New for The queen of diamonds returns to rule softball fields everywhere again this season! The DeMarini CF5 was born hardcore and built for damsels that CAUSE distress! The CF5 Hope features a two-piece composite design with a balanced swing weight and a touch of pink to promote breast cancer awareness! The new CF5 uses all new technology to produce a finished product that can do some serious destruction! By constructing the CF5 using their new TR3 F.L.O. Composite, DeMarini has successfully created their lightest swinging bat yet. TR3 F.L.O. (which stands for Fused Layer Optimized) is a cutting edge material that is the result of the random and naturally chaotic fusing of carbon fibers. This creates a more compact carbon that enables DeMarini to make the new CF5 lighter and stronger than ever before. DeMarini's Half and Half two-piece technology makes YOU stronger by silencing feedback on off-center hits and creating the largest, most responsive sweetspot by flexing before impact and recoiling with a burst of ball-launching energy! The CF5 also features a Geo End Cap that's focus is on keeping the barrel stiff and not letting energy escape through the end of the bat. This gives each and every hit an extra blast of energy. DeMarini: Born Hardcore! The CF5 Hope is approved for play in ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: This bat is great. My daughter has the 31 - 21 and it feels a lot lighter. She was able to generate great bat speed and in her first tournament she hit the ball very hard and deep.

Pros: I got this bat a few weeks ago, I ordered it on a Saturday and got it that Tuesday (with free shipping). The bat has a nice pop, I've only used it on the machine (with softball balls not the dimpled ones) and is GREAT! I highly recommend this bat anyone looking for a composite bat and it doesn't feel that heavy. My next bat will definitely be ordered on this site and Demarini is great just as well! Can't wait to use it in my tournements and games!

Cons: Nothing so far.

Does this bat have the new USSSA stamp? marble
Yes. The 2013 DeMarini CF5 Hope: DXCFH Fastpitch bat has the new USSSA stamp.
Tyler
what is the difference between the clutch two end cap and the cup cap on a demarini cf5? And what do you think is better and why? thanks adrianna
The CF5 Insane bats are the only fastpitch bats in DeMarini's line that use their Geo End Cap. The rest of Demarini's fastpitch bats use their Clutch 2 End Cap. The Geo End Cap is an internal end cap that is loaded with load balancing triangles to maintain stiffness of barrel and provide smooth feel. The Clutch 2 End Cap is a dual density cap that returns impact energy to the barrel after contact. Due to the CF5 Insane's endloaded design, increased barrel stiffness is beneficial, which the Geo End Cap provides. The rest of DeMarini's CF5 line is not endloaded, and perform best with their Clutch 2 End Cap. Neither is better than the other, but each is perfectly suited for the type of bat they each are used on.
Tyler
what size bat is good for a 14 year old, 5'5", and 105 lb. girl? Steve
A 32" bat would be recommended with a weight between 20 and 23 ounces.
Tyler
If the geo end cap is only used on the insane (endloaded), is it safe to assume the 2013 cf5 hope is endloaded? Worm
No. The 2013 DeMarini CF5 Hope: DXCFH Fastpitch bat has a balanced swing weight.
Tyler
I was checking out some of the DeMarini bats in a local sports store. Had my daughter swing a few different weighted bats. The sales person said you should NOT hit a batting cage softball, the ones that are softer than a real softball. Is this true? Sparky
The only batting cage balls you should steer clear of are those rubber pitching machine balls as they are a lot more dense than a regular softball and can cause damage to your bat. If the batting cage uses lite flight balls or lighter foam balls, it will be okay to use your bat.
Tyler
What is the difference between a end loaded and a balanced softball bat? Sparky
An endloaded bat has a top-heavy feel making it a great option for a stronger hitter with high swing speeds. A balanced bat is evenly balanced and a great choice for most all-around hitters.
Tyler
whats the difference between hope and insane cf5? lima
The DeMarini CF5 Hope is a balanced bat. The CF5 Insane is an endloaded bat.
Tyler
Is there any difference between the 2012 CF5 Hope (DXCFH) and the 2013 CF5 -10(DXCFP)as far as performance? Neil
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 features new TR3 F.L.O. composite whereas the 2012 DeMarini CF5 Hope will use the TR3 Strut composite but the performance will be very similar.
Tom
My daughter is 13 5'3" and weights 110 lbs. last year she started slapping with a metal Easton bat. Her batting average was .700 in tournament ball and I was wondering if this bat would be good for a slapper? Pete
Yes. The 2013 DeMarini CF5 Hope: DXCFH Fastpitch bat is a good option for a slapper.
Tyler
What's the difference between the end caps? Jessica
The Clutch 2 End Cap is a stiffness designed end cap to hold energy in the barrel of composite bats, while other end caps like the Geo Cap End Cap are used to give the bat an end loaded feel and dampen vibration in the bat.
Noah
My daughter is a freshman playing varsity softball. She is currently 5'4" about 113 lbs, and has been using her 2011 DeMarini Insane 32" 22 for the last 2 yrs. She is due for a new bat and we're debating whether or not to switch to a balanced vs the end loaded as well 33" vs a 34" and should we consider a different drop if we go 34"? Do not underestimate her power and strength because of her petite stature, everyone does at first, until she makes girls, even coaches cringe at the power and speed of her throws. Outfielders watch and chase balls that are hit over their heads or fence. Leaning towards the 33", however I used a 34" since the age of 12 at 5'2" with no problem and great success. This my reasoning for feeling she can also handle it as well. Help... Very unsure. Thank you in advance for all your help! Sandy
Using the Bat Coach Feature on justbats.com I was able to enter in your daughter's height and weight and came up with a suggested bat length of 32". She is very close to the 33" recommendation. If she has already been using a 32" bat with great success she should have no problem going up one inch and one ounce. The 2013 DeMarini CF5 Hope: DXCFH Fastpitch bat does come in a 33" 23oz. It will be a Two-Piece fully Composite design. It will also be a very balanced model. If you are increasing the weight of the bat I would recommend she try out a balanced version before jumping straight to an end loaded bat that is longer and heavier. This bat will require a period of break-in of about 100-200 swings. Soft toss or hitting off of a tee will work fine. Just rotate the barrel .25" in the hands while swinging to work over the entire barrel. This bat will have the updated USSSA stamp and come with a Full 12 month warranty through DeMarini.
Brandon
After comparing the CF5 and CF5 hope edition I notice that the barrell and grip are longer on the Hope edition. Can you explain why this is the case? Still trying to decide on which to buy. Btenberge
According to DeMarini's website the 2013 DeMarini CF5 Hope: DXCFH and the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFP are the same bat. The only difference is the color.
Kara
Is it to long for a 14u team? softball<3
Most organizations allow all fastpitch bats that are 34" in length and below. For clarification, please contact your coach or league director.
Tyler
Is this bat BBCOR approved? Need To Know
No, the 2013 DeMarini CF5 Hope: DXCFH Fastpitch will not be BBCOR certified. BBCOR bats are going to be for high school, and collegiate baseball.
Noah
The numbers at the end of the barrell of the bat that go all the way around it, what are they for? Shelli
This is call a Rotation Index. To remind players to rotate their bat every time when breaking-in the bat.
Tyler
How do you know if a bat is end loaded or balanced? I currently use a 33-23 Easton Stealth Speed. I am thinking of upgrading to a DeMarini, would you happen to know if this bat is balanced or end loaded? Which bat would you recommend for me, the 2013 CF5 Hope or the 2013 CF5 Insane? softballgirl3093
Both bats will be high performing bats with the biggest difference being the 2013 DeMarini CF5 Hope: DXCFH Fastpitch has a balanced swing weight and the 2013 DeMarini CF5 INSANE: DXCFI Fastpitch has a end loaded swing weight. All DeMarini INSANE models feature an end-loaded swing weight.
John H
I play for a high school team, will I be able to play with this bat? What's the difference between a USSSA stamp and a BBCOR stamp? Kodi
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 Hope: DXCFH Fastpitch is legal for play in girl's fastpitch softball. USSSA and BBCOR stamps indicate that a bat meets the ratings standard of their respective organization. Only high school and college baseball require BBCOR certification.
Kevin
The DeMarini CF7 Hope has a balanced swing weight, and the DeMarini CF7 Insane is end loaded. Whats the difference and which is better? mamachilla
Both of these bats are great options. The DeMarini CF5 Hope Fastpitch Softball Bat (DXCFH) and 2015 DeMarini CF7 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat (DXCFI) are both two piece composite bats. The main difference is the D fusion handle to reduce vibrations on the CF7 Insane, and the swing weights. If you are a contact hitter a balanced bat will be easier for you to get around, but if you are a power hitter an end loaded bat will give you more power. It just comes down to your preference.
Allison
All of last season I borrowed my friends DeMarini CF5 at every at bat. I absolutely loved it and decided to buy myself one only to find out it's been discontinued. Can you please help me by telling me which DeMarini bat is MOST like the CF5 Hope? Greta
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Hope Fastpitch Softball Bat (DXCFH) is going to be most comparable to the DeMarini CF5 Hope Fastpitch Softball Bat (DXCFH). They are both two piece balanced models.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
