Pros: It is a great bat! Hits very well. Sounds awesome!
Cons: None so far.
Line Drive
Pros: First hit off of the bat was a laser line drive. Way better than the 2011 and 2012 Demarini White Steel, the weight is balanced very good.
Cons: Nothing, it is perfect so far.
BIG-D
Pros: Hot right out of the wrapper..much better then the 2012 version. Loved the sound..ball comes off the bat FAST!!!
Cons: Broke after 30 swings...
My Girl
Pros: It has great pop right out of the wrapper.
Cons: Unfortunately, I had to send it back because just after using it in 3 1/2 games it BROKE!! It cracked about 5" from the top. I hope I can get in exchange the same bat ASAP. I don't know what happened. :(
Pistol peter
Pros: Great bat!! Has serious pop and hits well right out of the wrapper. Balls fly off this bat.
Cons: None
Sporty357
Pros: GOOD POP
Cons: BAT CRACKED THRU MID-SEASON
Anonymous
Pros: Zero.
Cons: Purchased bat, after 3 batters used the bat of the first game, bat split. Sent it back for another. Received bat, got 5 batters into it, again split.
buck50
Pros: Good balance, nice weight distribution for an end-loaded bat. Larger sweet spot that the 2011 and 2012 White Steel.
Cons: Cracked after about 10 at-bats. After reading other reviews, I hope this is not going to be an ongoing problem.
Gil
Pros: great pop!!!!
Cons: 3 SWINGS AND CRACKED!!! THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN FOR THIS $$$!!
ricmac
Pros: I hit the odd home run, but first swing with this bat was a home run. And out of 6 pitches, 3 were home runs. Nice pop.
Cons: I hit one off of the end of the bat and it broke. I wish it was more durable.
TAG
Pros: Good pop even brand new. Smokes the ball until it breaks.
Cons: Bat is heavily dented and cracked after only ONE game and ONE practice. I'm hoping to be able to return it because I definitely don't want another if this is the durability of a $200 bat.
Anonymous
Pros: Bat hit well right out of the wrapper, nice pop, good distance. Loved the heavy end weighted feel.
Cons: Durability is really bad. Dented/cracked 2 bats, with minimal use. A step down in durability from previous models
Kyle
Pros: Bat had good pop out of the wrapper, great sound as well.
Cons: Dented heavily with normal use.
contactguy
Pros: Hot out the wrapper and still hitting bombs with it.
Cons: None.
Johnnyd
Pros: Definately adds distance. Our power hitter added at least 30-50' when going from Demarini single wall all-aluminum to this one.
Cons: First bat I received had barrel split after about 6 hits. Not heavy hitter either. Second bat (Softballbats.com did a superb job of replacing since the bat was 1 day old) weathered a tough game with a lot of power hitters flawlessly. I suggest you put the bat through its paces as soon as you get it.
Cleo
Pros: Nice sweet spot
Cons: Cap popped off after 5 or 6 hits.
jayy24_
Pros: Like others, bat is hot out of the wrapper.
Cons: SPLIT/Cracked after only 4 Swings READ REVIEWS BEFORE BUYING maybe it's just the batch that Justbats receives my friends is just perfect with 100+ hits he didn't buy it from here.
Dan
Pros: Decent pop. Sleek design.
Cons: Cracked after about 30 swings. I chalked that up to the temperature (was using it in approx. 60 degree weather). DeMarini replaced it. The second Steel cracked after about 100 swings. The DeMarini customer service team is great (they're trying to accommodate my request for a 2011 Steel); this bat, however, is not.
roby
Pros: Good pop
Cons: To the guy that said what's the different between the 2012 and 2013 nothing much its a luck of the draw if urs will dent or not.
craig62185
Pros: batt would be great if it lasted more than a game
Cons: got 6 of these batts 5 out of 6 broke including the return ones when they came back.10 broke all together. this bats only good for 85 degree and higher
Bella Ballgirl
Pros: Same story...hits great out of the wrapper...first time out...grand slam and never felt the contact. About half the team played with it with no issue
Cons: I will be curious to see how long it makes it...

Pros: The bat hit lasers from the start. has a great feel.
Cons: first bat started to dent after one game. second bat cracked after playing with it for two games.
Great bat! While it lasts... CapcityAdam player
Pros: Short break in period, huge pop, giant sweet spot. Great bat for all skill levels. The Mil-Spec matte black on black finish looks great.
Cons: I've broken 2 within 6 months. Split length-wise down the barrel on the sweet spot. No funny business, temperatures were within suggested range. The first one was replaced immediately by DeMarini. The second one is questionable right now. I love this series of bats, this is my 4th generation Steel...but I won't be purchasing again.
Amazing bat Poor durability Ryan Perez player
Pros: Great bad, great price, and have already replaced 4 of them. DeMarini will replace a cracked or failed ring tested (dented) one with no questions asked and return to you in less than 3 days.
Cons: Poor durability, but what do you expect out of a great pop-single-wall-aluminum bat.
Best bat we are aloud to use in ouf league!! Mike Callihan player
Pros: Out hits all others bats in our league by 20 yards! We are a semi.fast pitch league and we had to change the ball for lower compression to help from hurting our pitchers. So that restrict the balls flight.
Cons: If the weather is cold, use a bat warmer, this help the life and the distance.
Great bat....while it lasts... disappointed in RIC player
Pros: Great grip, great graphic, fantastic pop out of the wrapper. Until it breaks.
Cons: Durability is terrible. I went through 2 bats in one season. First bat cracked in the first game. Replacement bat cracked a few months later. Hands down my favorites bat series... until they break. High reward on borrowed time.
Love Hate Relationship Mayor HRC player
Pros: I love using this bat. I love the way it looks, I love the way it feels in my hands and I love the way it swings. This is a perfectly end loaded bat with A LOT of pop. The ball jumps off this bat.
Cons: Durability!!! After half a season with multiple teammates borrowing my bat, it became heavily dented. This is understandable considering the use. However, my replacement bat, which I solely used, lasted 10 games and cracked about 5 inches in the sweet spot of the bat. I hope DeMarini can solve this problem in newer models.

Pros: Had good pop out the wrapper.Broke in at about 150 hits. Balances is awesome! Love this bat
Cons: Dented very easily. Can not use for Winter ball
DeMarini Steel Ray Dawson player
Pros: Love this bat. I'm hitting ropes in the gaps. Very happy with the quality of the bat and ,so far, its durability. DeMarini discontinued this model much to my dismay. I bought the 2013 model year and it will be quite some time before I find a better bat.
Cons: None have surfaced to date.
1 1 player
Pros: It was a great bat . Hit like crazy . Then got a dent in it and now won't hit anything
Cons: Dented about 6 games in to the season. Sending it back now. If you have this bat get a back up
DO NOT BUY!!!!! Jake player
Pros: Bat hit well right out of the wrapper, nice pop. Good feel.
Cons: DO NOT BUY!!!!! Made terrible. First one dented beyond use and had it replaced within one season. Now the replacement has cracked in 6 months and DeMarini refuses to replace it. I have never had an issue with any of my other single wall bats just this one. Multiple people in my league have had the same issue so its not just me, and we are in So. Cal so its not the temperature. Its to bad it is designed so poorly because it would have been a good bat. Terrible customer service as well!!

About the Brand
In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."
In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.
Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.
To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.
In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.
Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.
With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).
In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.
Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.
In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.
More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
