Description

The DXVXR features the USSSA 1.15 stamp and is legal for use in Torment opposing teams with the all-new DeMarini Vexxum! For the past several years, this design has been one of the top weapons in the DeMarini arsenal. The performance of the two-piece hybrid Vexxum is truly a force to be reckoned with. The SC4 Alloy barrel of the Vexxum is constructed using Demarini's proprietary aluminum extrusion that provides a thickness tuned wall that reaches down the entire length of the barrel. This creates a wicked sweetspot that can withstand every single crushing blow you put on it! The handle is made from C6 Composite that is designed with a wider weave than most composites in order to optimize swing flex. This handle works as a powerful one, two punch with the SC4 Alloy barrel, creating one of the highest performing big barrel bats on the market! DeMarini's classic Half & Half Technology redistributes weight for optimal balance, allowing players to swing faster with less effort. For the player, this means more power! The Vexxum features a Hybrid C-Grip that gives players the tack they need to be in control and confident at the plate. DeMarini: Insane Dedication to Performance! The Vexxum is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Fantastic bat. My son just recently made a traveling team which allows senior league bats. They had their first practice in the cages, and their coach wasn't holding off on the speed of the pitching machine, as he wanted them to try to hit speeds they will see in the game. My son was getting around well with this bat, and was making good contact, driving the ball hard! Don't let the fact that this is a discontinued bat sway your descision. It is a very high quality bat, and I think the best bang for the buck in senior league bats out there! Buy one for your son. You will not be dissapointed!

Cons: None.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the DeMarini Vexxum -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXVXR? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Does this bat have the long barrel technology as well? TheBatBoy
According to DeMarini, the 2012 DeMarini Vexxum bat does not have the same Long Barrel technology that was featured in the 2011 Vexxum. The difference will be very slim though.
John
Is this bat bbcor certified? bill
The 2012 DeMarini Vexxum DXVXR Senior League bat is not BBCOR certified. All BBCOR bats will be a -3 and will have BBCOR in the name of the bat. Follow this link for the BBCOR Vexxum: http://www.justbats.com/product/2012-demarini-vexxum-bbcor--dxvnc-adult/13527/
Brett
Is this bat a -10, and what size is the barrel? I am a 10 year old looking for more bat speed. drew
Yes, this bat is a -10 bat. The barrel size of this bat is 2 5/8 inches. This is a senior league bat. It is a two-piece bat that has an alloy barrel and composite handle that will provide you with good bat speed..
Brett
Does this bat have the USSSA stamp? puddin
Yes, the 2012 DeMarini Vexxum has the USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp on the barrel.
JH
What is the main difference between the Vexxum and the Voodoo besides the drop? metsfan
The difference is going to be the composite that is used in the handle of both bats. The 2012 DeMarini Vexxum uses C6 Composite Handle and the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo uses TR3 Strut Composite Handle. The Voodoo is going to have a little more pop and a little more durability.
Todd
Can a 10 yr old height 58 inches or 4'10" and 96 lbs good for this bat and what length would be good 30-31? Jay
Yes, the 2012 DeMarini Vexxum would be a great fit for a child of those dimensions. I would recommend using a 30" because it will be lighter than the 31".
Kris
Is a "senior" league bat legal for play in Pony baseball? Dan
Each league is going to be different. Senior league bats have a 2 5/8" barrel, which some leagues will not allow. I would check with a coach or league offical before buying a bat.
Kris
I was wondering if it comes in -5 drop dad
Yes, the 2012 DeMarini Vexxum comes in a -5. The model number is DXVX5 and here is the link: http://www.justbats.com/product/2012-demarini-vexxum--dxvx5-senior-league/13530/
Kris
Will this bat be legal in 2012 in Little League Juniors division? Steve
If the league allows the bats to have a 2 5/8" barrel then the Demarini Vexxum should be legal in Little League Juniors
Sean
What is the endcap made of? G0RILLA5
The endcap on the 2012 DeMarini Vexxum is made of plastic
Sean

Linda
My son is 7 1/2. 51" tall, 55 lbs. He has a good swing. Is this bat too big/heavy for him? jeff
It depends on what kind of league your son is playing in. If he is playing coach pitch, I recommend you look at Jr. Big Barrel bats. If he is playing in a kid pitch or pitching machine league, the 2012 DeMarini Vexxum is appropriate.
Linda
Is this considered a Hybrid bat and approved by NJBL 12U (ie - not a composit bat that is illegal). Pete
Yes, the 2012 DeMarini Vexxum is a hybrid bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel. The Vexxum DXVXR is legal for NJBL 12U. 13-year-old NJBL teams using hybrid bats have to use a -3 BBCOR bat.
Linda
Is there a difference in the quality of this bat? It is much cheaper than the other demarini's, such as the voodoo and CF5. hgdh
The 2012 DeMarini Vexxum is a very good quality bat, however, the material will not be as high of grade as the DeMarini CF5 and DeMarini Voodoo.
Sean
Is this bat legal for play in 2012 USSSA? PayDay's PaPa
Yes, the 2012 DeMarini Vexxum features the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp and is legal for 2012 USSSA play.
Linda
How long will this bat last? Because of the composite handle? Eight
The 2012 DeMarini Vexxum is a durable bat but there is no set lifetime for a bat. The amount of use and how they are cared for goes a long way in determining a bats lifespan.
Sean
Having a difficult time deciding what size to get for my 9 y/o. He is playing 10U travel ball, but he is a little guy, approx 55-56" and approx 61 lbs. Not sure which would be better 29 or 30 inch? He has the CF4 30/29 and swings it well. Shell
Typical progression for any hitter will be to upgrade one inch or ounce, sometimes both, per season. But if your son is comfortable with what he is swinging now then you may not want to increase at all. Check out our Bat Coach tool for more help: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/

John

Yes, two-piece bats like the 2012 DeMarini Vexxum are great for contact hitters.

The 2012 DeMarini Vexxum is a balanced bat.
Shelbe
How does this compare to full composites like the 52 caliber and the catylist? Anonymous

Derek

Tyler
Vexxum or S2? What does the composite handle do versus the S3? Will the 2 3/4 barrel have more pop than the 2 5/8? trumanthetiger
The composite handle of the 2012 DeMarini Vexxum provides more flex and helps reduce vibration. A 2 3/4" barrel won't have more pop, but will give the player more surface area to make contact.
Tyler
My son loved the Vexxum 2011. Will there be much of a difference in the 2012? Mccovey
There will not be any performance differences between the two DeMarini Vexxum models.
KB
My 7 y/o son has been swinging a 27/17. I'm looking at using this bat for two years. Would a 28/18 be too heavy for him? Trouble finding 28/17 or 28/17.5 bats. He can't use composite in his Pony League. Cruss 11
As a general rule of thumb, you'll want to move up an ounce or two every year or two. I think he'll be just fine with an 18 ounce bat.
Tyler
Vexxum vs. S2. Both two piece, both alloy barrell, both about the same price and same drop. Any difference or preference you can comment on? solo
The 2012 DeMarini Vexxum will be slightly more end loaded than the Easton S2 which is a very balanced bat.
Kara
Is this bat a big barrel? marshmellow

The 2012 DeMarini Vexxum is legal in the 13-15 Babe Ruth league according to the Babe Ruth website; http://www.baberuthleague.org/side-indexes/latest-rule-changes.html. The 2012 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR is not BBCOR certified. Only composite bats have to be BBCOR certified.

Does the demo bat have the same quality as a regular bat sold in stores? andy
A demo bat is a bat that has been previously used. It is not a brand new bat, but it is carefully inspected and there is nothing wrong with it that will affect the performance of the bat.
Jennifer
What is the barrel size on it? BigE
The barrel size on the 2012 DeMarini Vexxum DXVDR is 2 5/8".

Hello. I'm 5'3 130 pounds and 13 years old. My problem is I want a bat I can use this year and next year. I would like to get a 32 inch bat but I don't know what weight. A -5 a -8 or a -9. I don't know which is best for me. Panda
The drop really depends on what size you are using now and how strong you are. The 2012 DeMarini Vexxum is slightly end loaded, so we would suggest a -8 if you have a lot of power.
Kara
Is it legal in 11u baseball? maximan#3
It all depends on the league or tournaments you are playing in. We recommend talking to a coach or league official first. The 2012 DeMarini Vexxum does feature the USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp featured on the bat.

My 16 year-old wants me to fungo 300 foot fly balls to him. I can't get used to the length and narrow barrel of a fungo. So, I've been using a 31 (28. oz.), but I tire out pretty quickly. (I'm old). Will this work for me instead of a fungo and give me the distance I need? Jim
A regular baseball bat like the 2012 DeMarini Vexxum DXVXR will still work and give you the distance you need, however, you'll probably expend more energy using a regular baseball bat compared to a fungo. Fungo bats are designed for repetitive use and help to decrease the energy output from the user.

My son is currently using a -10 Vexxum that needs to be upgraded. I was trying to decide on staying with a -10 or moving up to a -8 CF5. Given the Vexxum is more end loaded and the CF5 is more balanced, do you think there will be a noticeable difference in "swing weight"? I don't want to increase the drops too quickly as he is only 11 but also want him to start getting used to a heavier bat. Thurman
Since the DeMarini CF5 is more balanced, there shouldn't be much of a difference in the swing weight. It will feel pretty similar to the end loaded -10. Moving him up to a -8 sounds about right. It is recommended to move up an ounce or two when you purchase a new bat.

Son is playing 8u travel ball and will soon turn 9 and will be playing on 9u travel team. He is currently using an Easton Surge bat 30", 19 oz. want him to step up in barrel size to 2 5/8", preferably a Demarini Vexxum. What length and oz bat do you reccomend him to use? bruce
If he used a 30" 19 oz bat previously, I would recommend at least a 30" 20 oz model in the DeMarini Vexxum. A lot depends on his height and weight as well. I recommend trying our Bat Coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tyler
Son plays 8u travel ball, coach pitch and kid pitch. Which is better to buy, Senior or Junior Big Barrel? swings 28" 16oz. in reg bat. nick
If he plays some kid pitch, he needs a Senior League (aka Youth Big Barrel) bat like the 2012 DeMarini Vexxum. Junior Big Barrel bats are for coach pitch only.
Tyler
What is the difference between the 2012 and 2013 models? dankor
The 2012 and 2013 DeMarini Vexxum have the same bat features in both models, but the 2013 model has upgraded materials for improved performance and durability.
Nick
I am looking at getting my 10 year old a new Big Barrel Bat for USSSA tournaments. I am looking at this bat or the 2012 Louisville Triton II. Besides the weight difference, are there any other features to keep in mind? KennethG
The 2012 DeMarini Vexxum is a two-piece bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel, whereas the Triton II is a one-piece composite.

Yes. The Vexxum DXVXR has an alloy barrel making it approved for Junior division. Only composite barreled bats need to be BBCOR certified to be legal.
Kris
Is it better than the Voodoo? me
The 2012 DeMarini Vexxum is very comparable to the DeMarini Voodoo. The Voodoo uses upgraded materials for increased performance and durability.
Nick K.
Is the 31" 21 oz. size bat a BBCOR? Can this bat with a barrel diameter of 2 5/8 be used in 11 year old Cal Ripken play? Kristin
The 2012 DeMarini Vexxum Senior League is NOT a BBCOR bat. BBCOR bats must be drop 3. For Cal Ripken Twelve and under the bat may not exceed 33'in length, and the bat barrel may not exceed 2 ¼' in diameter.
Damon
Is it BBCOR? jz
No the 2012 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR has a -10 length to weight ratio. Only bats with a -3 length to weight ratio will be BBCOR certified. Here is a link to the Vexxum that is BBCOR certified. http://www.justbats.com/product/2012-demarini-vexxum-bbcor--dxvnc-adult/13527/?pa_source=justbats&pa_medium=was&pa_campaign=badges&pa_content=13527

Tyler
Is this bat BBCOR? Perkey
The 2012 DeMarini Vexxum is not BBCOR certified. Only adult bats have a BBCOR stamp.
Kara
Which is a better bat, the DeMarini Vexxum or the Voodoo? brohaha
Both are good two-piece bats with composite handles and alloy barrels. The DeMarini Voodoo is higher on the pecking order than the Vexxum so will have higher quality materials.
Damon
Are there any 30/20's left or are they discontinued? Raleigh dad
The 2012 DeMarini Vexxum is discontinued. However, we do have a 30" 20 oz. in the 2013 DeMarini Vexxum.
Kara
What does the cap do? loc
The endcaps used on bats is to help the barrel of the bat maintain it's integrity and strength. Without an endcap, a bat probably wouldn't last more than a few hits.
Tyler
Does this bat have as much pop as the 2012 CF5? hahadd
The DeMarini Vexxum and Demarini CF5 both have excellent pop. The main difference is that the DeMarini Vexxum is a two-piece hybrid design with a composite handle and aluminum barrel, whereas the DeMarini CF5 is a two-piece fully composite bat.
Tom
Do you have any -9 Vexxums left? Steve
Unfortunately, the DeMarini Vexxum is not produced in a -9. The only youth big barrel Vexxums are -10 and -5.
Tyler
Is this bat BBCOR certified and allowed in the Pony division for Pony baseball? Bob
The 2012 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League is not BBCOR certified. Although it is legal for use in the Pony leagues.
Alexis
What -3 bat is most like this bat? rebels32
The Demarini Voodoo is going to be very similar to the Demarini Vexxum.
Noah
how does it compare to the demarini cf5? My son is 10 years old 5-1 and a 90 lbs. He currently uses a 29-20 voodoo. Romo
The DeMarini Vexxum is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The DeMarini CF5 is a two-piece, full composite bat.
Tyler
Would this bat be legal in Dixie Youth play? CheapSeats
The 2012 DeMarini Vexxum is only legal in the "O" Zone Division of Dixie Youth. All other divisions require a 2 1/4 inch barrel.
Kara
My son just made the roster on his first travel team. He will be allowed to swing a senior league bat this season. He is currently swinging a vexxum standard barrel. Would this be a good bat for him to jump up to? I like the fact that it is a half and half, and he will be able to use it in middle school and babe ruth. Mike
It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. Thus, the 2012 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR would be a great option that will be legal in Babe Ruth and Middle School. However, Middle Schools abide by different rules across the nation and it is always recommended you check with your coach or league director prior to purchasing a bat.
Tyler
Is this bat approved for juniors little league, Glendale CA, Section 16? Joe
The 2012 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League bat will have the updated USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp on the barrel. That stamp is what makes it legal. I would talk to a coach or league official from your area just to make sure.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
