Description

New for The Half and Half bat that put DeMarini on the map returns this season and it's as mean as ever! Players have been crushing the ball for years with their DeMarini Vexxum due to its heavy-hitting, high-quality design. The Vexxum's power starts with the C6 Composite handle that has a wider weave and stiff feel for the powerful feel you desire while still maintaining a light swing weight. Joined to the C6 handle is an aluminum barrel constructed from DeMarini's new X10 Alloy. X10 features a proprietary blend of alloy agents and is finely tuned to give the Vexxum the thinnest, lightest, and strongest barrel walls possible. Its Longbarrel design gives the Vexxum the largest possible hitting surface so that players can do the maximum amount of damage swinging the bat. The sweetspot on the X10 Alloy Longbarrel is enhanced through the use of Half and Half technology that provides a burst of ball-launching energy every time contact is made. The end result of this design is MAD POP. The Vexxum is topped off with an N2M End Cap that is scientifically tuned to absorb vibration so that players can swing away and never be slowed down. DeMarini: Born Hardcore! The Vexxum is approved for play in Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie, Pony, AABC, and USSSA. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

What is the difference between the X10 alloy in this year's and the SC4 in the 2012. Also what is the difference between the C6 composite handle in the Vexxum and the TR3 handle in the VooDoo? WyomaPat
The SC4 Alloy is constructed using Demarini's proprietary aluminum extrusion that provides a thickness tuned wall that reaches down the entire length of the barrel. This creates a wicked sweetspot that can withstand every single crushing blow you put on it! X10 Alloy features a proprietary blend of alloy agents and is finely tuned to give the Vexxum the thinnest, lightest, and strongest barrel walls possible. With TR3, DeMarini seeks to replicate the triangular structure of a crystal, as that is what helps make crystals one of the toughest and most stable compounds on earth. TR3 Composite is strong, stable, and predictable - without any unnecessary weight. The C6 Composite is DeMarini's exclusive, high quality aircraft-grade composite material. The C6 Composite has a wider weave that's specifically designed for single wall bats, providing optimum springboard effect!

Is the barrel big or small? Y U DONT KNOW
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVNL Youth is a small 2 1/4" barrel bat.
Damon
Does one come in (-13). Ora
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVNL is not offered in a -13 model, but the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL is also a two-piece hybrid design and is offered in a -13 length to weight ratio.
Tom
my son is 9 and is 58 inches and is 96 lbs. He is asking for this bat was wondering if it would be good for him. His bat is currently 30 inches with a -13 drop. Bill
The Vexxum is definitely a great bat for a player of your son's age. Based on his height, weight, and current bat, a 30" 19 oz model would be recommended.
Tyler
Is this a big barrel bat? yoyo
No, the DeMarini Vexxum "Youth" is a small 2 1/4 barrel.
Damon
is there a version of this bat thats big barrel? yoyo
Yes. The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League model is the big barrel version.
Tyler
5 foot 5 Inches Power and contact hitter. like a very balanced bat. should i get a vexxum or a m2m (was leaning vexxum)? AJD
Both the youth Vexxum and M2M are well balanced bats. However, I would give a slight edge to the Vexxum.
Tyler
Hello, My 8 year old had a tough time with the Voodoo 32"-19oz. drop 13 and I learned that the weight on that bat is end loaded, which effected his bat speed. I'm now looking for another two-piece bat. I Wondered if the Vexxum bat has the same weight distribution characteristics as the Voodoo? Thanks in advance for responding to my question. KyleNC
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVNL Youth bat comes in a -11. This bat will have a two-piece design. The Barrel will be Alloy material while the handle will be made up of composite material. This bat will be very balanced. It will not have an end-loaded feel. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth bat will be made up exactly the same as the Vexxum. It will be a two-piece design with alloy barrel and composite handle. But this model will be end-loaded at the barrel for a heavier feel.
Brandon
How does the longer barrel on this bat compare to the Easton XL bats? jake
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVNL Youth bat will be comparable to an Easton XL2 youth bat. Composite handle, alloy barrel, and the extended barrel design. The Easton XL would feel slightly heavier in swing weight.
Brandon
As far as the extended barrel goes which is bigger this bat or Easton's XL2? jake
Both have extended barrels with large sweetspots, but the Easton XL2 barrel will be just slightly more extended than the DeMarini Vexxum.
Tyler
I am trying to decide which bat to get, the 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVNL youth or the 2013 DeMarini CF5 DXCFL youth. I weigh around 85 pounds at 5 feet, I am 12 years old. I was wondering if you could point out the differences between the two and which might be better for me? Thank you in advance Peter G.
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVNL Youth is a two-piece, alloy barrel bat with a composite handle. The 2013 DeMarini CF5 DXCFl Youth is a two-piece full composite bat. Composite materials are an upgrade from alloy and are more expensive. The DeMarini CF5 is top of line in the industry for being on of the most balanced bats around.
Chad M.
I want to buy a DeMarini Vexxum -11. The 2012 Vexxum is $100 cheaper than the 2013 Vexxum. What does the 2013 Vexxum have that the 2012 model does not? Peter G.
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVNL Youth has the same C6 composite in the handle as the 2012 model, but the alloy has been upgraded from the SC4 to the X10 Alloy between years.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
