Description

The new CV12 showcases Easton's industry leading innovation at it's finest. The CV12 is no ordinary aluminum or composite bat. It's both, all the way through. This one-piece design starts out with a lightweight IMX Composite inner tube. The IMX or Integrated Matrix Technology strengthens and optimizes the composite structure, giving you a bat with extraordinary performance and extreme durability. This composite inner tube is then fitted with an ultra thin high performance aluminum shell. The shell of the CV12 uses Easton's all new THT100 Alloy. This exclusive new alloy has 100ksi strength and extraordinary toughness for superior dent and crack resistence. The CV12 is constructed using Easton's SST Technology which utilizes a one-piece barrel design with increased balance and control while increasing the trampoline effect of the extended sweetspot. Make no mistake, this is a pure hitter's bat. Easton: Know-Feel-Be The Difference. The CV12 is backed by Easton's Exclusive 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: I use this bat for an adult coed softball league that requires men to use a 30" bat. For the money, it has alot of pop. May need a short time to be broken in.

Pros: This bat does have a lot of pop.

Cons: The outer shell started flaking after about 3 games. Now about an 1/8 of the shell is gone. Also, the bat now has more of a triangle shape from the dents. May be a good bat for very young kids, but not at a higher level.

Pros: I like the end heavy bat, it allows for better drive.

Cons: I can hear tiny broken pieces of the carbon fiber inside the bat; doesn't seem to effect performance.

Pros: Great price

Cons: I broke this bat in ha,f after 40some hits at 50% power. I was breaking it in and it snapped in two just above the handle. All the glue inside the bat was on one side...if that matters. It was 80degrees outside. I'm glad no one was on first base or they would have been taken out!

Grandpa

Pros: My grand daughter loves the grip and balance of the bat. She uses a different practice bat at the batting cage and prefers her Easton bat for hitting in games. She is a 12U player and adapted to the bat quickly. Nice to see her put it in her bag after each time at bat. The positive and negative reviews were a great help. Great bat.

Cons: It can chip. Just take care of it.

Pros: I bought this bat for my (now) 13 year old daughter who plays travel slow pitch softball. It's the best bat she's ever owned. We got a drop 10 (30" length, 20 oz.), and now 1/2 the team wants to use it! There's something magical about this bat...just a phenomenal piece of sports equipment. The price is right too.

Cons: Nothing. This bat rules.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton CV12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: SCG1B? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

is there a break- in period? softballchick
This has an alloy hitting surface with a composite inner tube. It won't require a very extensive break-in period, but I would recommend about 50 to 100 hits of a tee at about 50% power prior to facing live pitching.
Brett
what is the lowest temperature this bat can be used without cracking the inner composite tube? COACH SULLY
There isn't an absolute temperature that says the bat will crack if it is used in said temperature. Most manufacturers recommend that their bats (especially composite bats) not be used in temperatures under 55 or 60 degrees. The cold weather really effects the hardness of the core of the softball or baseball. If you make an effort to keep your softballs warm during games and practice you should decrease the probability of dented and cracked bats. This bat has an alloy outer wall, which will help with durability in colder temps.
Jeff
Does this bat have the 1.2 USSSA stamp that makes it legal for 2013? Steve
Unfortunately, the Easton CV12: SCG1B does not have the new USSSA stamp that they will require beginning 9/1/2013.
Tyler
My daughter plays high school fast pitch. Is this bat legal for her to play in 2013 season? She is a power hitter. Would you recommend this bat for that? Dave
Yes, the Easton CV12: SCG1B Fastpitch would be a great bat for a power hitter.
Zach
My daughter is U12 power hitter (ASA team). 5'9" -- usually uses a 33" bat-- I am upgrading her to a composite. Very strong girl (swimmer in her other life)-- what would be an appropriate bat weight? margaret
For a power hitter we would recommend an end loaded bat such as the 2013 Easton FX2: FP13X2 Fastpitch in a 33" 24oz.
Kara
If this bat is approved for USSSA then why doen't it have a stamp? Can you apply a sticker? al
The Easton CV12: SCG1B Fastpitch is approved in USSSA until September 1, 2013. After that date it will require the new USSSA stamp. A sticker cannot be applied to the bat.
Kara
My daughter is 15 next march and playing high school softball. She is the smallest on the team. Is this a good choice? Lenbo
The Easton CV12: SCG1B is a -10 bat with a slightly end-loaded feel designed for power hitters. If she is the smallest on the field, a better -10 option from Easton is the Alpha FP13AL. It will have a much more balanced feel for smaller players who may not be as strong.
Tyler
My daughter is 16, 5'2" and 130 lbs. She is a strong hitter. What size bat should she use? HJA
Based on her height and weight, we recommend a 32" 22 oz. model in the Easton CV12: SCG1B Fastpitch bat. For further sizing information, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
Do you get both bats in this pack? taylor
The Bat Pack Easton CV12: SCG1B Fastpitch 2-Pack for $169.99 will contain two of the Easton CV12 bats.
Noah
My daughter is 12 yrs old and 5'5 95 pounds she is all arms and legs not much strenth what weight of bat would you recommend and would this be a good bat or maybe the worth speed ccblaze16
Using the Bat Coach feature on JustBats.com, I would recommend an Easton CV12 with a length of 32" and 22oz. If the swing weight is too heavy, Easton also makes a model called the 2013 Easton Mystique which comes in a -12 swing weight. The Mystique model with a 32" length would weigh 20oz.
Justin R
My daughter is 16, 5'8", and a strong hitter. She now has a 33" 23oz. -10 DeMarini. Is it time to move her up to 34, 24oz? Linda
The -10 Easton CV12 my still work for her. If she swings ahead of the ball even a little bit it is time to go to a -9, but if she is right on still I would stay with a -10.
Noah
Hello, My daughter is 14 and is a heavy hitter she is currently using the 2011 Easton Stealth 32" 22 oz. Is this bat compatible? We need to move to a longer heavier bat. softballmom
The Easton CV12: SCG1B is one piece bat with a composite core and an alloy shell. The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 is a two-piece compoiste and it replaced the Easton Stealth. It uses a higher grade of composite in the handle for better durability.
Kara
I ordered this bat for my daughter today, she is playing league and select ball this year. But starting next year she will be playing high school ball. Will this bat be legal for high school play next year? GeorgeH
The Easton CV12: SCG1B Fastpitch will be legal in high school next year. However, it will not be legal in USSSA past September 1, 2014.
Kara
Why will that bat in previous question not be legal in 2014? Lisa
The Easton CV12 does not have the new USSSA stamp on the bat, so it will not be legal as of 9/1/13 in USSSA sanctioned events.
Chad M.
I am a 5'2" 110 lbs ex-player who is looking for a bat suitable for modified fastpitch. 10 years ago I swung a balanced bat, but now I lead off with my old 33/21 and foul line drive after line drive into the third base coach. I was never a power hitter so I am hesitant about an end loaded bat, but would a 32/22 in the slightly endloaded CV12 slow my timing down enough to eliminate the defensive shift, without sacrificing too much power? Or would it make more sense to look for a drop 9? Nina
If you currently have above average swing speed with your 33" 21 oz. bat, then a move up in weight, or a switch to and endloaded bat is recommended. A 22 oz. Easton CV12: SCG1B would be a good choice and it's not enough of an endload and not a big enough jump in weight to negatively impact your swing speed and bat control.
Tyler
Looking at possibly getting the CV12 for my 8 year old daughter. She currently swings a 19 oz. with good bat speed. Would the 30/20 work for her? jordan
If she has good swing speed and bat control with her 19 oz. bat, then a move up to a 20 oz. Easton CV12: SCG1B would be a natural progression in terms of bat size.
Tyler
If the CV12 is not going to be legal in USSSA sanctioned events, will it still be legal in ASA? terru
The Easton CV12: SCG1B Fastpitch bat features the 2004 ASA certification mark. As of now, fastpitch bats in ASA will not be affected by any rule changes, and new models are being produced with the same 2004 mark. Starting 1/1/14, all bats used in USSSA will require the new BPF 1.20 mark (or be made of wood).
Mac
Will any version of the CV12 have the new 1.20 logo required by USSSA as of 1/1/14? If so, which ones? Donna
The Easton CV12 (SCG1B) has been discontinued. The 2013 Easton FX2 ( FP13X2) would be most comparable to the CV12.
