Description

Last season, Easton took the diamond by storm when they released the inaugural Power Brigade Series. Easton is now gearing up the Power Brigade for its debut on the fastpitch softball field allowing players to personalize their power. The fact is, that players draw power from different sources. Stronger players may want a bit more weight and endload to their bat, while smaller players want a little less weight and a balanced feel. Easton solves this problem by offering Power Brigade bats in two categories: The Speed Series and The XL Series. Speed Series bats (FS1, FS2, and FS3) are characterized by lighter length to weight ratios and balanced swing weights to produce faster swing speeds and more power as a result. XL Series bats (FX1 and FX2) are going to be a little heavier and have a enloaded feel, giving stronger players extra momentum through the zone and more power behind each swing. This bat, the FS1, is a two-piece fully composite design that features a barrel made from Easton's IMX Composite that uses ConneXion Technology to connect to an ultra-thin handle made from their SIC Black Carbon Composite. If you're looking for extra swing speed this season, there's only one logical choice - the bat that's built for SPEED to give YOU more POWER! Easton: Personalize Your Power! The FS1 is approved for play in ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Just bought for my daughter. One day delivery, unwrapped and took to practice. 20 swings-All to Left/Center either out of to the fence. This is a great bat, all the parents except one KU guy want to buy one now. Had the Zeno and it exploded along with 2 other Zenos within a week of each other on the team.

Cons: None yet. Tournament this week end in KC, If anything changes I will update.

Pros: Daughters LOVE this bat. They broke their Xeno after a week, but this one has held up great. Great feel, great pop, gets hotter and hotter. Everyone in high school is still using the Xeno, but mine hit better than they did with the bat.

Cons: Price, but good isn't cheap and cheap isn't good!

Pros: My daughter loves this bat...she outgrew her 30/20 Stealth, and we got this as a replacement in a 32/22 back in March. She is hitting just as good with this bat as she did with the Stealth.

Pros: The Name Easton

Cons: As a few other people have noted the bat to my surprise and disappointment was dead. Numerous girls on our team bought this bat and only 1 out 4 thought the bat was responsive. As a coach while hitting out field drills I had to swing with more power and energy than with the Purple Sleath which we loved. The newer bat was not the same quality I have come to expect from Easton. The bat does not perform anywhere near it previous generations. Hope they fix it soon.

Not Impressed Mitchell parent

Pros: Great bat, daughter loves hitting with it. We purchased the FP13S1 which started coming apart in the middle in 4 months. We sent it back to Easton and they sent us out a new FP14S1 which was awesome and I was very satisfied with the service Easton provided. This past weekend at a showcase tournament in VA Beach the new bat started splitting in the middle again and we have only had the new bat since April 2014. Called and was told that they would not honor any warranty and did not even offer for me to pay to have it repaired.

Cons: Bats are expensive and I understand that the warranty is only for 1 year from original purchase but if your not getting 6 months out of a $360 bat then something is wrong. Easton should do something for you especially if it seems like it could be a defective bat. 2 bats broken in the same spot and same manner. bat is not abused or used for batting practice on pitching machines. Ok, I got that off my chest anyone want to recommend a good bat that will last at least a year????

Great out of the wrapper T6 Miner parent

Pros: My daughter is a small girl, 12 yr old and 4'11" maybe 70lbs. First time she used the bat she laid down two nice bunts. Third time, the best hit she's had in a while, a hot line drive to the fence for an inside the park HR. The ball few off the bat and had that beautiful sound you hear from a great swing. She is hooked. Bat is a 31, -10

Unfortunately, the 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch bat is not produced in any other colors.
Tyler
What is the difference between the fs1 and the fs2? Coach Hill 79
The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 is a two-piece composite bat. The 2013 Easton FS2: FP13S2 is a one-piece composite bat.
Tyler
I see that the differnce between the FS1 and FS2 is a one piece bat versus a two piece? How does this effect performance, power of bat? mab
The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch two-piece construction allows for more flex, better for a contact hitter. The 2013 FS2: FP13S2 is a one-piece bat, better designed for a power hitter. Both have composite barrels, giving them both great distance and pop.
Kara
Is Easton no longer making the Stealth? Grammy
Easton will not be producing the Stealth this year and they have replaced it with the Easton FS1 and FX1.
Tyler
Is there any where that you can try the different bats in the Easton Power Braggade to see which bat works best for the batter ? AB
Unfortunately, JustBats.com does not have any testing facilities for Easton's new bats, or any other bats for that matter. I would recommend contacting Easton at 1-888-259-1297.
Tyler
Is there any difference between the stealth and this bat? Is it basically just a newer version of the stealth but with a new name? Rona
The only noticable difference is the new SIC composite handle featured on the FS1. This will give the FS1 better vibration reduction for a more forgiving bat.
Tyler
Will a 31" 21 oz. be available? mab
Yes, the **PRE-BOOK** 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch bat does come in a 31" 21oz. It looks like we are currently out of stock on that item. If you would like us to add you to an out of stock list, where we can alert you when we receive that product, we can. Please let us know, 866-321-2287. Thank you.
Brandon
Is this like the LSS4 XL? If it's not what would be the closest to it? ee
The Easton Power Brigade bats replaced the Easton Stealths, but the 2013 Easton FX1 is going to be closest, because the Extra long sweet spot, and the end loaded feel.
Noah
Is the Easton FS1 the replacement for the Easton Synergy or the Easton Stealth? Laura
The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 is a two-piece composite bat that replaced the Stealth.
Tyler
Easton typically offers a 400 day bat return policy. I saw that your ad mentions a 12 month return policy. Is that for 1 bat or 2 bats in that time frame? Sober0014
Most manufactures only offer a 12 month warranty. However, the 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 comes with a 400 day warranty. The warranty offers a one time replacement for any defective bat.
Kara
How does this bat compare with the 2012 Easton Stealth? Jon
The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch bat features a new SIC Black Carbon Composite handle.
Aubrey
my freind has a 2012 Easton Stealth and it has the USSSA 1.20 BPF stamp, can that be? Meg
Yes, it's possible. The latter batches of the 2012 Easton Stealth Speed Fastpitch bat all had the new USSSA stamp.
Tyler
My daughter is a big power hitter, what is the difference between the FS1 and the FS2? Which one do you recommend? Joe
The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch bat is a two-piece bat that is better suited for a contact hitter since it has more flex. The 2013 Easton FS2: FP13S2 is a one-piece bat and will be better for a power hitter.
Aubrey
How does the FS1 compare to the 2013 TPS oneX? Kat
The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch and the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS oneX will be similar in performance and quality. They are both two-piece composite bats. They are very balanced and will provide a lot of flex. Perfect for a contact hitter. The oneX does use T2 technology to reduce vibration.
Kara
Why exactly is one (FS1) better for a contact hitter, and the other (FS2) better for a power hitter? Don't all players want more power? sj
Both bats will produce power in different ways. The FS1 is a two-piece bat that will use its flex to produce power, while the FS2 is preferred by power hitters because of its stiff, one-piece design.
Patrick
Im thinking about buying this bat, but there is no reviews. Do you know if any exist? Don't want to drop $300 on a bat without knowing about it. Michael
As of 1/3/2013 at 6:00pm CST, we have not received any customer reviews for the 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch bat. The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 replaced the Easton Stealth Speed and will be very similar in terms of performance.
Tyler
My Daughter is a Slap Hitter, which bat would be better for this, FS1 or FS2? KC
Both the Easton FS1 and Easton FS2 are well balanced bats great for slap hitters. The FS1 is two-piece full composite. the FS2 is one-piece full composite. It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate.
Tyler
Last two bat purchases have been the Easton Synergy. My daughter is power hitter, and loves that bat. Which is most comparable to the Synergy? Kalik
The Easton Synergy is going to be most comparable to the Easton FX1. The FX1 is perfect for power hitters, because it is end loaded.
Noah
Will the 2013 Easton FS1 have a peak performance? Could the bat just be consistent in performance throughout its bat life or even get better in time? I've heard the Demarini CF5 peaks between 150 and 200 hits. I'm just curious if that would be expected with the Easton FS1 bat? PC
The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch is a full-composite bat, so it will require a break-in period of roughly 150-200 practice hits. One you break in the composite materials, the FS1 will be at peak performance.
Marcus
I was looking at this bat the oneX and 454. Which one or any bat would have the least amount of sting? steve
With the 2013 Worth 454 Legit: FPL410 Fastpitch being a one-piece design, it will have a little more vibration than the FS1 or oneX. Both the 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch and the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS oneX: FP136 Fastpitch bats will be two-piece all composite designs. I would stick with the oneX for the LS-2X Composite and the T2 Technology.
Brandon
How you decide if your daughter needs an endload or not? She is hitting with a DeMarini CF5 29in 18oz. I was looking into other bats. She is 11 and this is her second season fastpitch. Steven
If she has above average swing speed and above average power, an endloaded bat is recommended. If she has average or below average strength and swing speed, a balanced bat is recommended.
Tyler
What is the difference between the FS1 Speed and the Stealth Speed? KKMAR
The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch features a SIC Carbon Composite handle that helps reduce vibration more than the previous model.
Aubrey
My daughter is a slapper and we are looking for a new bat. With our limited knowledge, we are interested in the 2013 Easton FS1:FP13S1 and also the DeMarini CF5: DXCFP. Which bat would make more sense? Also, is she better off with a one piece or two piece bat if she is not a power hitter? She.runs.fast
I would suggest both these bats for sure. I also would suggest a two-piece bat. It will cut down the stinging and it will add flex through the zone that is helpful to a contact hitter.
Chad M.
My daughter plays high school and travel ball 16 U. She typically pulls the ball to left field when hitting. She swing early and has a fast swing. Would this be an ideal bat for her? Patricia
That is a difficult question for us to answer as much of the decision comes down to the personal preference of the player and what bat type of bat they have used previously with the most success. It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. However, if she has above average strength and swing speed, a more endloaded bat like the 2013 Easton FX1: FP13X1.
Tyler
What is the differance between the FS series and the FX? And do the FX only come in a -9? jstew2009
The Easton FS Series bats are evenly balanced models, while the Easton FX Series are end loaded models. The FX Series bats only come in -9.
Marcus
Is this the newer version/replacement of the 2012 Easton Stealth SSR3B? Scott
The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 has replaced the 2012 Easton Stealth Speed: FP11ST10.
Damon
We are looking to get the Easton FS1. How does it compare to the 2012 or 2013 Xeno? Curious Dad
The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch is a two-piece composite design just like the Xeno and will perform very similar. The Easton FS1 requires a break-in period, but the Xeno does not require a break-in.
Frank
My daughter is a mix between power hitter and contact hitter. She needs to be able to get the bat through the zone pretty quick. She's 18 yrs old and going to college in the fall where all they use is the FS series. What bat would you recommend FS1, FS2 or FS3? Curious Dad
Two piece bats like the 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch and the 2013 Easton FS2: FP13S2 Fastpitch are best suited for a contact hitter. They are both very balanced bats. The 2013 Easton FS2: FP13S2 will be game ready. The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 will require a break-in period.
Kara
My daughter is 14 and a power hitter. She thinks the Easton Synergy 32" 22oz. is a little light. I am thinking about the FS1 33" 23oz. or is the FX1 a better fit? kc
The 2013 Easton FX1 is going to be the bat that will be best for her. The FX1 is going to be best for a power hitter because of the end loaded feel.
Noah
We've used the Synergy SCX24B 34" 24 oz. up until now and looking to upgrade to a similar bat. Which Easton model is the closest to this? Mel
The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch would be the closet to the Easton Synergy SCX24B.
Chad M.
My daughter is 13 and is a excellent contact hitter with power. She loves the 2012 Stealth Speed. She likes the feel of the FS1 over the FX1. Will she lose distance on balls hit with the FS1? Chuck
The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch would be a great fit for a contact hitter. The FS1 will swing lighter, due to the balanced weight distribution, and it has has a larger drop than the 2013 Easton FX1: FP13X1 Fastpitch. The increased bat speed from the FS1 may help her generate more power.
Katie
Does the FS1 have to be broken in? If so, what's the quickest way? JuneBug
Yes, the 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch will need to be broken in. I would recommend 150-200 soft toss hits, giving the bat a 1/4 turn rotation with each hit.
Kevin
How does the 2013 Easton FS1: FSP13S1 compare to the 2014 DeMarini CF6 bat? big lefty
The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch would be very similar to the 2014 DeMarini CF6. The DeMarini CF6 will have the new Paradox Composite for a bigger, more responsive sweet spot. It will feel even lighter swinging then the Easton FS1.
Chad M.
My daughter is 95 lbs. and 5', what size composite bat should I buy? Runo
Based on her height and weight, we recommend a 31" model in the 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch bat. For further information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
Does this bat come in a 34" 26 oz. -8? I'm a mens fastpitch player and I would love to have it! Gonzo
The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch does not come in a -8. The 2014 DeMarini CF6: DXCF8 Fastpitch is a two-piece composite -8 that is of comparable quality to the FS1. We also have the 2013 Easton S1: SP13S1 Slow Pitch in a 34" 26 oz., that is designed and certified for play in ASA slow pitch softball.
Katie
I'm 5' 3" 108 lbs. What size bat should I get? Adri
The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch in a 32" would be a good size for you, based on your size.
Katie
My daughter is 5'5", 198 lbs. What size bat should she get, and which Easton bat? Quitta
Our Bat Coach suggests a 33" or 34" bat for your daughter. The weight on a bat would depend on what your daughter feels most comfortable with. The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch bat and Easton FX1 would be good options.
Robert
Is this bat legal to use in high school fastpitch softball? HORNET

Kara

Mac
My daughter is 13yrs old, 5' 3" or 5' 4", and 180 lbs. She has a bat that is 32" 20 oz. We are looking at this Easton and want to know what size would work for her. Sharon
Based off of your daughters height and weight I would put her at a 33" 23 oz. 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch, but if she has trouble getting it around she may want to just stick with a 32" 22 oz. bat to avoid such a big jump.
Noah
My daughter is almost 14 and is a left handed power hitter but also bunts a lot because of her speed. She is just under 5' 11" and is about 140 lbs which bat/ size would you recommend we get her? Sara
The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch is best suited for a contact hitter who needs to increase their bat speed. We recommend an end loaded bat 33" 24 oz. 2013 Easton FX2: FP13X2 Fastpitch.
Kara
When will the Mako bat be in? w

The 2012 Easton Stealth will not be legal next year. The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch is legal in ASA and USSSA.
Kara
My daughter is about 5'2", 15 years old and very fast. Her high school coach is turning her into a slap hitter and we are debating between the FP13S1 and FP13S2. Which one would you recommend for her since she will be a contact hitting? Brett
A two-piece bats such as the 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch is best suited for a contact hitter.
Kara
My daughter is 5'8" and 121 lbs., hits for in the line up. What bat do you suggest? Andy

Aubrey
What is the difference between the MAKO bat and the Power Brigade bats (like FS1). TT
The new composite material used in the 2014 Easton MAKO: FP14MK Fastpitch allows the bat to be balanced like the 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch and has an extended barrel like the 2013 Easton FX1: FP13X1 Fastpitch.

The two piece design of the 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch is best suited for contact hitters. The 2013 Easton FS2: FP13S2 Fastpitch is designed best for power hitters. Both will help increase bat speed
Jason
My daughter is 11 years old and 5'1", 100 lbs. What bat would you suggest? gagirl
Based on her height and weight, we recommend a 32" model in the 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch bat. For further information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
Do these bats break a lot in cold weather? I know some Xenos that have broken. Lou
We do not recommend using the 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch below 55 degrees.
Tori
We hear it has been discontinued. She is 5'8" 150 lb, left handed power hitter. What do you recommend we replace it with? Em's mom
If she is more of a power hitter, I would recommend going with Easton's FX1 or FX2. The new 2014 Eastons will be available 11/1/2013.

Does this bat need to be broken-in manually before hitting hard with it? Once it is warmed, can it be used in 50 degree weather or is that not recommended? What is the best way to break the bat in? Mara
The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch does require a break-in period. we recommend 150-200 hits off a batting tee or soft toss. It"s best to start off at about 40% power, and gradually increase. Also, be sure to rotate the bat a quarter of turn in your hands after every hit. It is not recommended to use a composite bat in temperatures below 60 degrees. Lower temperatures will decrease the bats performance and increase the potential of cracking.

What bat length would you recommend for somebody who is 5'0 and weighs 117 pounds? Also, does the 2013 Easton FS1 bat sound like a good option for this body type, and is it good for power hitters? Kelsey
Based on her height and weight we would suggest a 31" 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch. However a power hitter is going to prefer a one-piece bat like the 2014 Easton FS3: FP14S3 Fastpitch.
Jason
In your opinion, what would be the better bat for a contact/slap hitter, the FS1 2013 or Xeno 2014? Is the price difference worth it? Thanks! area7c
Both the 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch and the 2014 Louisville Slugger Xeno: FPXN14-RR Fastpitch are balanced two-piece fully composite bats. The FS1 and the Xeno are very comparable bats.
Jason
My daughter has an Easton Stealth that's purple. I think it's from 2011. Great bat. What is the closest bat to replace it with? The FS1 or the new MAKO? Brian
The 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch was the line that replaced the Stealth Series. The MAKO is a brand-new design for Easton, but it does have a very balanced two-piece composite design like the FS1 and Stealth models. The MAKO's extended barrel and upgraded composite material would be the two largest improvements over a Stealth or the FS1.
Mac
whats the diff. between FS1and FS2 Bobcatsdad
Sean
My daughter just got a 2013 FS1. Is it okay to hit dimpled pitching machine balls with the bat? Dave
We do not recommend using any non-wood bat, including the 2013 Easton FS1: FP13S1 Fastpitch, in commercial batting cages that use yellow "dimple" balls. These balls are more dense than the game balls that the bats are designed to hit. Also, many manufacturers list in their warranty details that hitting these balls will void your warranty against defects.
Mac
Does this 2013 bat have the new USSSA fingerprint stamp required for playing in 2014? 23sDad
The 2013 Easton FS1 (FP13S1) has the new USSSA stamp. It is legal in 2014.
Kara
My daughter is 5'3" & 115 pounds. She slap hits 60% of the time and hits for power the rest. What bat would work for both? lee10
The Easton FS1 (FP13S1) is typically better for a contact hitter. We recommend a balanced, one-piece bat such as the 2014 Easton FS2 (FP14S2) for slap and power hitter.
Kara
what would be a good bat for college ball (softball)? arieldfigueroa
The Easton FS1 Fastpitch (FP13S1) model is an excellent choice for all levels of adult competition. The two-piece composite design offers a balanced swing weight and flex through the zone to help maximize bat head speed. This Speed Series bat features an IMX Composite barrel that, once broken in, will provide the high performance that people have come to expect from Easton.
Patrick
My daughter is 5'6",130 lbs and in the 8th grade. Is this a good bat for her? sgood2
The Easton FS1 (FP13S1) is a great choice. It is a high performing, two-piece composite bat. It is very balanced, great for a contact hitter.
Kara
My daughter has used the the last couple generations of the Easton CV12 and had great success with them. Which FS-Series bat (1 or 2) would be good for her to consider? She is a strong power hitter, no slaps, bunts only when she is forced. browman
The Easton FS1 (FP13S1 Fastpitch) will have a two-piece design. The 2014 Easton FS2 (FP14S2 Fastpitch) will be a single system, one-piece composite design. It would more relate to the older model CV12.
Brandon
My daughter in 5'6 125 1lbs. She can hit for power but slaps as well. What size bat do you recommend? Also, one piece or two. She had the FS1 and it didnt have any pop. Currently is using a Miken Triad 32/22 but needs a new bat. What would you suggest? Kay
I would recommend the 2014 Easton Mako (FP14MK). The Mako is one of our most popular bats right now, and it should work well for a dual threat hitter like your daughter.
Jackson
My daughter will soon be 9 years old and just starting to learn softball. What is the best bat for her? FS1, FS2 or FS3? Tess
The Easton FS2: (FP13S2) Fastpitch will feature a one-piece composite design and will be extremely balanced making it very easy to swing. It will also use single system technology for increased control and will be light weight. I think this bat would be very good to start out with it based off of its features.
Merritt
My daughter is 16, 5'8" and 145 lbs. She's a power hitter that currently uses a 33" -10 Stealth. What do you recommend for a replacement bat? Tom
The Easton FS1 (FP13S1) replaced the Easton Stealth. It will be similar in performance and feel. If she is a power hitter we recommend an end loaded bat such as the 2014 Easton FX1 (FP14X1).
Kara
Are there any technical changes in the FS1 between the 2013 and 2014 models? carousel71
The Easton FS1 (FP13S1) and the 2014 Easton FS1 (FP14S1) use the same high quality composite materials. They only change is the graphics.
Kara
What is the difference between FS1 and the MAKO? David
The Easton FS1 (FP13S1) and the 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) are both balanced, two-piece composite bats. The main difference is the MAKO has an extended barrel compared to the FS1.
Kara
My daughter is interested in the Mako. She currently uses a -9. Do these bats come in a -9? Jaime
No, the Easton FS1 (FP13S1) and the new MAKO only come in a -10. The FX1 is Easton's -9 model.
Justin R.
What is the effects of cleat marks on the barrel of a bat? mike
Metal cleats can cause significant damage to the barrel integrity of composite barrel bats like the Easton FS1 Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP13S1). If a cleat punctures or cracks the composite material, it can continue to cause damage at that break point when you hit with it.
Patrick
My daughter is 5"7 and plays adult softball. She has always used Demarini CF end loaded bats. Which of the 2014 Easton's would suit her? She is a power hitter very very fast hands. Ron
The Easton FS1 Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP13S1) is going to be a balanced design. An end loaded option in the 2014 Easton line would have been the Easton FX1 Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14X1).
John
I want this bat. Where do I get one even though they are discontinued? ray
The best location to search for this Easton FS1 Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP13S1) would be on a secondary seller website like Craigslist or EBAY since it has been a number of years it was actually produced by Easton. I don't believe any retailers will be carrying this bat.
