Description

There are 3 constants when it comes to slow pitch players and their bats. They want a bat that's hot out of the wrapper, they're always looking for the next best thing, and they prefer either a balanced or end-loaded design. Raw Power is Easton's answer. The Raw Power line features the B-Series that offers evenly balanced designs for controlled power, and the L-Series that offers end-loaded designs for absolute maximum power. Part of the L-Series, the L9.0 has a specific end-load weight called out at the end of its 12 inch barrel: 26oz = 1oz load, 27oz = 2oz load, 28oz = 3oz load. The L9.0 features Easton's THT100 Scandium Alloy in a traditional one-piece design. THT100 Alloy is designed for greater durability and expanded sweet spots compared to what you would normally find in an alloy bat. The handle of the L9.0 is wrapped with an ultra-thin gauze grip that is perfect for players that like tack without the bulkiness of many modern grips. The time is now to bring Raw Power to YOUR game. Easton: Engineered for Glory! The L9.0 features the new ASA stamp and is approved for play in USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Pros: Had 2012 version of this bat. Had good, consistent power out of the wrapper for full season of lots of use.

Cons: Bat became dented later in season as weather got colder. Easton honored warranty and replaced with this one. Hope it holds up this time around!

Nice bat Tom player

Pros: Huge pop. This is the first time if used this bat. Used it in our fall league. My spring team only buys cheap bats so it's been Ultimate Weapons and Reflex's for me. In comparison, this bat is awesome. Even guys on my team who didn't have power we're hitting the ball further.

Cons: We used the bat for about 12 games and then the ump noticed it was a squared and told us to chuck it. Used the warrantee and got our new one in in time for playoffs. Used it for 2 games and it was destroyed. It was pretty cold out that night. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. I still will be buying one for spring next year. I don't always wear batting gloves. The wrap on the handle just isn't comfortable at all. Feels like thin strips of sticky gauze wrapped around it. If you wear gloves that won't be a problem for you

Easton L 9.0 Gino C. player

Pros: None. Poor excuse for a 200 dollar bat.

Cons: I literally hit the ball 10 times in practice then looked down because I thought it felt odd. The bat had 3 big dents and the paint was peeling all over. Don't waste your money, buy the Miken 750x, I think its ten dollars more and its a much better quality.

Great 1pc Bat Team Hitmen coach

Pros: It definitely has Pop I normally play in a composite bat league but this year I joined a single wall bat league. I did my research and looked at the Demarini Steel and some others. There is not that much info out there for single wall bats since composites dominate the softball world. Anyway this feels and hits well I can still hit bombs and I have it with the Steel before and I wasnt impressed.

Cons: Based on other reviews nobody else is using this bat on my teams because I everytime I hit with it Im scared its going to bend or break it sounds like true alluminum. I hope this scandium technology holds up on the field.

Pros: Had this bat for two years now and have not had any problems. Has a slight end load. The grip feels great. Love it. I'm not a power hitter but the ball comes off the bat nicely. Line drives are smoked. Great bat for for single wall alloy only leagues.

Cons: none

Is this bat the new model of 2013 SP12SV98? rh1510
Due to the change in ASA regulations, there is not going to be a direct corollary to the 2013 Salvo.
Kevin
My league uses a restricted flight ball. Is the 2014 L9.0 a good choice or would the 2013 S2 be a better way to go? I have decent power but mainly hit line drives. Mark
The 2014 Easton L9.0: SP13L9 Slow Pitch is slightly end loaded. It is typically preferred by a power hitter. However, the thinner walls in the 2014 Easton L9.0: SP13L9 Slow Pitch will perform better with the softer balls.
Kara
Is this a good bat for a 12" clincher ball league? Rusty
Being a one-piece alloy design with the new ASA stamp, the 2014 Easton L9.0: SP13L9 Slow Pitch bat would work well with Clincher softballs.
Tyler
What's the difference between this bat and the Easton Reflex SX72? Chubbs
The 2014 Easton L9.0: SP13L9 Slow Pitch bat is a one-piece alloy bat with a slightly end loaded swing weight like the Reflex, but it features the upgraded THT100 Scandium alloy for extra durability and the new ASA stamp.
Mac
Does this bat contain any composite material? I'm in an ASA league that allows only 1 piece single wall bats. We cannot have any composite whatsoever, including in the barrel. Josh
The 2014 Easton L9.0: SP13L9 Slow Pitch has a one-piece alloy design and will have absolutely no composite in the bat what so ever.
Chad M.
Is this bat have a 98mph swing or under? bbarbs
With the new ASA bat restrictions, they no longer test the MPH ratings on bats. Because they no longer use the MPH testing, it's hard to say what the exact MPH rating is for the 2014 Easton L9.0: SP13L9 Slow Pitch.
Tyler
Is this a good bat for 44/375 softballs? Also, I'm concerned with durability/denting....not just with this bat, but other similar bats. Why do so many people complain of this and shall I assume I will probably be replacing my bat after one season? Sammy
The 2014 Easton L9.0: SP13L9 Slow Pitch bat features the new ASA certification mark. Bats with this mark are designed to hit the newer, .52 CORE softballs. Using these bats with the .44 or .47 CORE softballs will cause them to be more susceptible to cracking or denting. This model also features the USSSA certification, so it should hold up to the .44 CORE softballs slightly better than bats that only bear the new ASA certification. Unfortunately, it's impossible to predict the exact life of any bat; even when used with the correct CORE softballs.
Mac
We use a 44 core ball. Which bat would perform best? ASA only. ed
Any bat with a 2004 ASA stamp is designed to hit the lower COR, higher compression ASA softballs; like the .44 COR 375 Comp. balls. The 2014 Easton L9.0: SP13L9 Slow Pitch carries the newer ASA stamp, so it would be more susceptible to denting.
Mac
Early spring/fall have some cooler days. What is the lowest temperature before a danger of cracking/denting? Dan
The recommended lowest temperature for use on the 2014 Easton L9.0: SP13L9 Slow Pitch will be 60 degrees. That is information directly from the manufacturer.
Brandon
In cooler weather, what is the lowest temperature this bat can used before the danger of cracking/denting? Dan
The 2014 Easton L9.0: SP13L9 Slow Pitch does not have a composite barrel, so it can be used in colder temperatures. However, it is the ball that becomes harder and can damage an alloy or composite bat. An alloy bat is usually preferred in temperatures below 55 degrees.
Kara
Is there a balanced version of this bat? JJ
Unfortunately, there is not a balanced version of the 2014 Easton L9.0: SP13L9 Slow Pitch. All of the B Series slow pitch bats from Easton are made of composite materials.
Mac
What is the difference between the L6.0 and the L9.0? Hunter
The 2014 Easton L9.0: SP13L9 Slow Pitch bat is a one-piece alloy design where the Easton L6.0 is a one-piece composite design. They both feature end-loaded swing weights. The following is a link for further comparison http://www.justbats.com/compare/
