Elite 24x7x365 Baseball parent

Pros: The most balanced 2015 BBCOR bat we've tried on the market. Because of the balance of the S1, minimal bat drag using a drop 3 for the first time -- my 12 year old loves how he stays through zone controlled and quick. Paint job is cool, with a matte finish.

Cons: Like any BBCOR bat, expect an adjustment period when using for the first time -- but the learning curve isn't as steep as we expected with the S1.

S1 Kohl player

Pros: Sometimes you would get some good pop. The paint job is pretty sweet. Big barrel with a good handle.

Cons: Not good pop consistently. I felt like the 2013 S1 had way more pop than this one. The bat was more top heavy than what I was expecting.

impressed so far stephen parent

Pros: recieved bat in 3 days from ordering. looks looks and feels great. i waited until temp was 60 degrees before i let my son use it and i was shocked at the pop it had on its first day of use. if it only gets better with a breaking in period this bat will be outstanding.

Cons: none yet

Best BBCOR I've Ever Hit MCD3 player

Pros: Amazing pop with a lighter feel for the small guys. Almost no vibration at all and just has a great feel. Demarini and Easton have always my favorite brands because rawlings, rip it, and marucci didn't really impress me, but this bat doesn't disappoint. It actually rivals the mako in my opinion.

Cons: When you hit one on the inside of the bat it sounds like you absolutely destroyed the ball, but really you didn't hit it nearly as hard as hitting one in the sweet spot. Also, the bat does get dirty easily, but a few alcohol wipes will get everything except paint chips out, and i have had the bat for 4 months now and havent had the first little chip. Lastly, there could be a little more money put into the grip, but it still works.

Nice Bat Bat Man player

Pros: Good bat from Easton. Normally I wouldn't buy from Easton because of the price they charge you, but i couldn't resist this time! My first time hitting with this bat in a game a hit a triple all the way to the left field fence. Get this bat.

Cons: Ugly sound. But everything else in exceptional!

pretty good bat Chase player

Pros: Nice grip but when you wear it to long time without batting gloves you get blisters. It's a balanced bat with a nice light swing. More of a power bat then a contact bat.

Cons: Pop is the huge con in this bat when you get it broke in like a month later it's gone

Dead bat Mary parent

Pros: None

Cons: My power hitter son ordered this bat after a solid season with the '14 Mako. From the beginning the ball would do a weird dip before accelerating into the field. He rotated the bat with his swings to break it in properly. The bat never performed close to what we expected. After six weeks my son switched back to his Mako and his hitting was back to where it was before the S1. We just shipped the S1 back to Easton for inspection to see if it is a dead bat. I spent $239 for a useless bat! Very dissapointed.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S1? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Any difference between the 2015 and the 2014 models? Brian
The 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) will be similar to 2014 model because they feature the same balanced, two-piece fully composite design. The main difference is that the 2015 S1 features an upgraded composite material called the IMX Advanced composite. This advanced composite material will allow for an even lighter feeling swing weight. It also optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance.
Tessa
When will this bat be out? Isaiah Prince
The 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) is expected to be released the week of October 1st.
Patrick
Will this bat be available in a 31/28? Can we pre-order? Best
The 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) will be available in the 31" 28 oz. size, but we do not currently offer the Pre-Book option for this bat. We may offer this as a Pre-Book closer to the first of October.
Mac
How much is the bat going to be? JK
The 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) will retail for $399.99, which was the same price that the 2014 model originally sold for.
Mac
What is the difference between the 2015 S1 and the regular 2015 MAKO? Bauer
The 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) has an IMX Advanced Composite barrel and a SIC Black Carbon Composite handle. The Easton MAKO has a TCT Thermo composite handle and barrel. This TCT Thermo compsoite provides the MAKO with a more balanced swing weight and a longer barrel The longer barrel provides the MAKO with a bigger sweet spot.
Jason
Which bat is better for a singles type of hitter: the DeMarini CF7 or 2015 Easton S1? Glen Beck
The 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (B15S1) and the DeMarini CF7 are both equally good bats for contact hitters. They both have two-piece designs with balanced swing weights. These two features are great for contact hitters.
Jason
What color is this bat? puddin
The 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) is black with orange graphics and white writing.
Patrick
Is this bat end loaded? lil kk
The 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) will be very balanced. It will not be end loaded at all.
Brandon
What are the differences between this 2015 S1 and the 2014 S1? Also, which is better for a singles hitter 2014 S1, 2015 S1, 2014 MAKO or the 2015 MAKO? Nicholas
All the options that you mentioned will be good for a contact style hitter as they are lightweight, balanced designs that help the player maximize bat speed. The differences between the 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) and the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S1), and the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) and the 2015 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15MK) would be mostly cosmetic in nature. The 2014 models should perform up to the same standards of the 2015 overall. The S1 will have a slightly more balanced feel for a lighter swing weight and the MAKO will have a more extended barrel for a bigger sweet spot. The preference between the two would be based on which feature you would value more.
Patrick
I am 5'5" and weigh 115 lbs. Do you recommend the 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) or the 2015 Easton S2Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S2Z)? Mitch
Both the 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) and the 2015 Easton S2Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S2Z) are well balanced bats. The S1 will be higher performing because it is a two-piece full composite bat, whereas the S2 is a two-piece bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel.
Damon
Is hitting dimpled batting cage balls bad for this bat? sfbball
The yellow dimpled cage balls used in some batting cages can cause durability issues for all bats including the 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1). Those cage balls are structured differently than a regular baseball and react differently than a regular ball does which can lead to problems.
Patrick
My son will be a freshman this year and he is only 5' 6" and 115 pounds. I want a balanced bat. Do you think the Easton S1 BBCOR BB15S1 or LOUISVILLE SLUGGER PRIME 915 is a better choice? JIMMY
Since your son is new to BBCOR bats, I would suggest going with the more balanced 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1). The S1 is a part of Easton's Speed Series which is a line designed for players so that they can get their bat through the zone at the fastest speeds possible!
Ben
We live in Michigan and this is my son's second year with BBCOR. He is 5 feet tall and weighs 100 pounds. I was wondering which bat would be good for him between the Easton S1 or the Rip It AIR Elite. Woodrow
Both the 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) and the 2015 RIP-IT AIR Elite BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503E) are both nice options. They will both be balanced, high performance models. The major difference will be in the barrel material. The S1 has a composite barrel and the AIR Elite has an alloy barrel. If he will be playing in cold weather, the alloy barreled AIR Elite may stand up a bit better but if not, the composite S1 would have better durability over time. Both are great options.
Patrick
Which bat would be better overall for a contact hitter: the regular MAKO or the S1? Johhny
Typically, contact hitters prefer a balanced bat; whereas, power hitters prefer an end-loaded bat. Both bats are very similar, with the MAKO having a slightly longer barrel than the S1. Due to that factor, I would suggest going with the 2015 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15MK) over the 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1).
Liz
What is the difference between the S1 bat and the XL1? They are both made out of the same materials. So since the S1 is the speed series, I'm assuming the weight is more in the handle instead of in the barrel like the XL1? Also, the XL1 is supposed to have the largest sweetspot/barrel in the game. Does the S1 have the same sweetspot/barrel length? Lefty4Life
You are correct that the weight of the 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) is more balanced along the entire bat and more in the handle than on the end-loaded 2015 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15X1). The XL1 has a longer barrel and slightly bigger sweetspot than the S1 does which allows the S1 to maintain the well balanced feel.
Patrick
My son is 5'6", 115 pounds, and is a freshman this year. What bat length and weight do you suggest? Jimmy
Based on his height and weight, our Bat Coach recommends a 30" 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1).
Tessa
Does this bat require a break in period? Chris
Yes, the 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) will require a break in period. The break in process is pretty simple. Here is a link to a great video on how we recommend getting a composite bat broken in: http://goo.gl/aZRJLH
Tessa
I am 6' 0" & 160 lbs. What length bat do I need? johnny baseball
I would suggest a 33" 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1).
Jake
Is there a BBCOR composite bat that does not need breaking in? If so, which ones? donnierufe
Many of the newer BBCOR models from the last couple of years like the 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) do not necessarily require a break-in period but most of them would see an added benefit from a brief break-in period of around 50-100 hits of soft toss or tee work using about 50% power to start and working your way up. It is best to rotate the barrel a quarter turn every few hits during this process.
Patrick
Is this bat end loaded? GOTBrays
The 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) will feature a two piece full composite design with an extremely balanced swing weight.
Joe
I'm 5'9" and 175 pounds. What size of bat would you recommend? Sox's fan
For your size we would recommend a 32" in the 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1).

Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 32" 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1).
Tessa
I am 5 foot 4 and weigh 100 pounds. I need a 31 inch right? cam
Based on your height and weight, the 31 inch length of the 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) would be the best available fit for you but you may want to look into a model that is available in a 30 inch design which would be a bit better fit.
Patrick
I'm 5 foot 5 inches and 160 pounds, what size bat would you recommend? cvfrcghr
I would recommend getting the 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) in a 31 inch.
Frankie
Which newer Easton bat is the most similar to the 2012 S1 model? Nate Jay
The 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) would be the model of the newest Easton bats that would be most similar to the 2012 Easton S1 model. It will feature the same IMX Composite barrel and SIC Composite handle as well. This bat will also feature a balanced swing weight too.
Tessa
I am 14 years old. I am 5 foot 2 and weigh 100 pounds. Should I get the Easton S1 or XL1? I am a contact hitter. beast
Both the 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) and the 2015 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15X1) would be nice options. The preference would come down to whether you like a more balanced bat like the S1 or a more end-loaded heavier feeling bat like the XL1.
Patrick
How does this bat compare to the Louisville Slugger Prime 915 in, say, swing weight, pop, and durability? G
The 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) and the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) would be very similar within those categories. The preference would really come down to your brand or style preference.
Patrick
I'm 5'7 and about 130 pounds, what size bat would you recommend? G
I recommend getting a 31 inch in the 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) based on your height and weight.
Frankie
How does this bat compare to the Louisville Prime 915 in balance, and durability? Ash
The 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) and the Louisville Slugger Prime 915 are both very similar. Thay are both two piece composite designs with balanced swing weights.
Frankie
Does this bat have a faster swing speed than the MAKO? johnny bae ball
The 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) is much more balanced than the 2015 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15MK). Players are able to get balanced two piece models through the zone much more quickly than an end loaded model.
Joe
Is this a good bat for a 5'10" 125 lb. player? bossome
The 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) in a 32" 29 oz. model would be an excellent bat for a player of your size, especially if you are more of a contact or base hitter. If you are a power hitter, you would likely want to look at a single piece model.
Joe
I am 14 years old. I am 6 foot tall and weigh 210 pounds. Would this bat be good for me? boomer
The 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) would be a great option for a player of your age and size. We would recommend the 33 inch length.
Patrick
How long is the guarantee? Rat kid
The 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S1 has a one year warranty directly through Easton. If the bat were to break within that one year you would send them the bat and they would replace it for you.
Cooper
My son is going to high school and he is looking for a good bat (BBCOR). He is strong and a good hitter. He is 5 foot 4 and 150 pounds. Any recommendations? Eddie
The 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) would be a great option for your player. The balance and flex of the bat allow for increased bat speed and comfort of swing. Based on height and weight, I would suggest a 31 inch size.
Patrick
Which bat is going to have a balanced swing weight: Easton S1, Easton Mako, or DeMarini CF7? jack
The 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) and the Easton Mako and the DeMarini CF7 are all going to have balanced swing weights.
Frankie
How would you compare this to the Rip-It Helium, Velo, and 5150? sean34567
The 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) is tough to compare to the 2015 RIP-IT Helium BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503H), 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRVB), and the 2015 Rawlings 5150 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB5150) because they are completely different styles. At their best, due to BBCOR restrictions, the bats will all perform to around the same level. The Helium would compare the closest to the S1 because it is a two piece design but given that the models besides the S1 are alloy, they have a different feel and feedback.
Patrick
Does this have a balanced feel similar to a Baum Bat? jeffrey
The 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) will have a balanced feel that could be compared to the Baum Bat Composite Wood Baseball Bat (AAA Pro).

For Easton's 2016 release of bats, the S1 model was not included in its offerings.
