Pros: FEELS GOOD LOOKS GOOD. I BOUGHT THIS BAT FOR MY SON HES A SMALL 9YR.OLD. NOT ALOT OF POWER BUT A NICE SWING LINE DRIVE HITTER STILL WAITING TO SEE SOME REAL RESULTS.I HAVE NOTICED THE BALL COMES OFF THE BAT A LOT FASTER THAN WITH ANY OTHER BAT. HOPEFULLY WITH MORE PRACTICE AND AFTER THE BREAK IN PERIOD HE WILL START SEEING THE FULL EFFECT OF WHAT THIS BAT CAN DO
Cons: THE SOUND. I MISS THE SOUND OF ALUMINUM. THAT PING WHEN YOU KNOW YOU GOT A HOLD OF ONE. MY SON DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT THAT THOUGH. IF YOU DON'T HIT THE BALL ON SWEET SPOT NOT MUCH MORE THAN GROUNDERS WILL BE HIT
Walshy

Mr. Rocket Arm
Pros: Awesome sweet spot, really sends a lot of big flies. 5 out of our teams 6 home runs have come with this bat. And if you hit grounders, they are rocket grounders!
Cons: the only bad thing is if you don't really hit it on the sweet spot, the hits will be sort of weak. But i think you should get this bat, its well worth the price. The first time i used it i got a double. Buy it!
hobbsey13
Pros: Free shipping.
Cons: I used this bat once in the cages and it was great! But then I used it in a real games and I hit a weak grounder right back to the pitcher twice and then struck out. This bat died after one use in the cages. TERRIBLE.
Larry
Pros: My son is 10 years old and has been swinging a Easton S2 for the past two years. Wanted a new bat for All Stars and wanted the S1. This bat has a lot of pop. He hit several to the fence that when they left the bat I thought they where going to be Home Runs. Great Bat!

Pros: great bat. awesome pop and quick to get thru the zone. got the 2012 model and easton definitely thrilled me again with this top of the line bat

sick bats
Pros: so sick nasty beast and boss
Cons: it made me sick because its so sick
Great Bat Shooter parent
Pros: I bought this for my son after his 2013 S2 broke. My son is a stocky 8 year old and was around 65 lbs when we bought this bat last summer. We went with the 29 inch model and he is able to get around quickly with it. The S1 broke in nicely and has help up well during little league and travel ball play. It's got over 2500 reps on it at this point and still delivers great pop. It's proved to be very durable, little to no sting when he gets one in around his hands or off the end.
Cons: Nothing after 6 months of heavy use. It held up to roughly 20 games last fall in addition to the weekly winter hitting instructions.
1 1 player
Pros: Amazing pop, Very good feel, No vibration, Just overall amazing bat
Cons: nothing

My son (9 years old, 4' 5", 75 lbs) has been demoing a 2013 S1 (30" -12). The bat is a bit big for him as he struggles with faster pitches. His current bat is Easton Reflex (29" -13.) which he hits well but it has a ton of sting. He loves the feel and performance of the S1 so I am close to getting him the 29" -12 which he should be able to swing well. My fear is that he'll out grow it before the summer and I'll need to get him a size larger. What do you think about getting him a 30" -12 and added a choke up piece to the lower handle which may give him better control with it now and extend the usable lifespan of of the bat? adman

What is the difference between the CXN technology of the Easton S1 and Easton S2? sfbball
How does the Easton S1 YB13S1 Youth compare to the 2012 Rawlings Machine YBMACH? Which one is faster swinging and which has more pop? One obvious difference is that the Easton S1 has a two-piece and the Rawlings Machine has an one-piece fully composite design, but what does that mean for the performance? Rob
My son just turned 8 and is 53" and about 90 lbs. He currently uses an Easton Reflex (2.25 barrel 29/16). He plays machine pitch this spring and starts kid pitch this fall. I was wanting to buy him a better bat. He is the most consistent hitter on the team. I was looking at the S1 (both big and small barrel). Is the small barrel better (it costs more) so I don't understand the difference. If not the S1 which would you recommend? The S1 doesn't have a drop -13 so I was thinking of moving him to the 28/16 but some bat charts show that he should maybe be at a 30" however, I here coaches say that the bat seems to long (but it could be because their kids are so short). captionmemo
My son is 10 and 5'1" about 105 lbs. He was using and Easton Stealth CNT 28" -12 bat. He had had that bat for a couple years and he was much smaller when I got it for him. I was thinking about getting the YB13S1 31"19 oz. Will that be too much of a jump in size and as far as the break in time goes, he's not a real consistent hitter at the moment but we are working on it. What happens if the bat isn't broken in properly? Service Tech
Which do you recommend, the Easton S1 or the Easton XL1? My son is 5 foot tall, 105 lbs and 9 years old. He is a very strong kid. He has been using a 31" 19 oz. Rival. stever
My son tried a bat last which must be the same or close to the YB13S1 (very similar to this bat). It was an Easton except it was a YB11S1. He really liked it. Is it still available or is this the replacement and what might be the difference if the YB11S1 isn't available? Sam
I cannot seem to get my son's 29/17 YB13S1 to break in, done every thing from soft toss to live pitching and hit of a tee, well over 200 balls. Even an opposing coach commented on how dead the bat sounds. Purchased in mid march, Any suggestions? He has resorted to using a teammates hybrid Voodoo and a composite TPX that both yield much better results. Ed
How does this compare to the new Voodoo? Which one would you recommend for a stronger 9 year old? Dave
My son uses a 2012 Vexxum 29" 18 oz. achieving quick bat speed. He is a line drive contact hitter playing 12U. We are considering the Easton S1, but do not want to overlook the XL1. How does the 2012 Vexxum compare to the S1 and XL1 (balanced v. end loaded, etc)? Neil
Would the Easton S1 or the Miken REV- EX be more suitable for a player that has a good swing and makes contact but doesn't have much power? amy
My son is 10, and about 5' tall. He weighs around 86 lbs. He has a 2012 XL1 30" 20 oz. He finds it too heavy. He uses his friend's 2013 XL3 30" 19 oz. during games and likes it. He is more of contact hitter (line drives/hard ground balls). Would the S1 be a good option for him or would another bat? Marley
I'm trying to see what would be the best bat for my son. He's a little guy but can hit it to the outfield almost everytime. He's swinging a 28" 16 oz. Louisville Slugger composite but doesnt like it. He's almost nine and is 50 inches and 58 pounds. What size bat is good for him? I'm looking for one he can use next year too. Also is the Easton XL or Speed Series better for him? Thanks mom
My son is 54" tall & weighs 72 lbs. He is 8 years old. He makes solid contact but we are looking for something to give him more power. Would you recommend the Easton XL-Series or the S-Series. He is swinging a 29" 16 oz. Easton Rival now. greg
Are you going to make a new bat in the Power Brigade Series in 2013? dubbondubbs
Just got my son an S1. Do you have a recommendation for a bat to use in the cages? Some around town have the "yellow" balls and i know we should not use this bat with them. Would any bat the same length and weight work? Looking for something less costly that may swing similar or have same balanced feel. abatz
I want to order a new bat for my 10 year old grandson, but have a few questions. He has very quick hands but has been hitting a lot of grounders lately. Last year he was hitting far more doubles and triples. He is 72 lbs. and 56" tall. His current bat is a Combat B4 29" 19 oz. (-10 drop). He went to a store and was swinging an Easton XL1, but feels it might be a bit heavy. I know the XL1 is end loaded and for power hitters. I'm considering ordering him the Easton S1, 30" 18 oz. (-11 drop). The S1 is a lighter and more balanced bat than the XL1. I'm thinking about going with the 30" S1 it might make the weight seem a little more like his -10 Combat, yet give him a little more balanced bat. Feedback please. John
