Description

Easton truly believes that every player should have the opportunity to hit for power. However, the road to power hitting is different for every player. Some players need extra bat speed to reach their full power potential, while others need more weight and a bigger barrel. That's why Easton is changing the game this season and taking an approach to bats that no other manufacturer has ever tried before. Introducing the POWER Brigade; Two series, one distinct result. Whether you prefer the fast swinging Speed Series or the heavier extended barrel XL Series, POWER will be your outcome. Forget flashy designs and gimmicky names, these bats produce RESULTS. The Speed Series (S1, S2, S3) features the lowest Moment of Inertia (M.O.I.) on the market to create light swing weights and generate more power. On the other side of the spectrum, the XL Series (XL1, XL2, XL3) features extra long barrels designed to give players expanded hitting zones and more mass in the barrel, generating more power in every swing. Easton really does strive to fulfill the preferences of any type of player as both series come in two-piece IMX Composite designs (S1 and XL1), two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Aluminum hybrid designs (S2 and XL2), and one-piece THT100 Aluminum designs (S3 and XL3). As for the materials, Easton's patented IMX Composite has proven to be one of the highest performing materials in the game year after year, while THT100 Aluminum provides superior dent and crack resistance. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology and you have a new line of bats that is second to none. Easton: We Believe In Power! This bat features the USSSA 1.15 stamp and is approved for play in and beyond. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Good Grip, Good looking bat

Cons: This bat has no pop what so ever. We had the Orange and black Rival proir to the new S2. To say the Rival out hit the S2 is a huge understatement. My 11yr old actually hits further with his wood bat than with the S2. I would not recommend this bat at all. Over half of the kids on his team had one and have since started buying different brands. Very disapointed in the bats that Easton came out with this past year.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton S2 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL11S210? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Will the S2 come in 2 3/4ths size like the S3? A Coach
The ones we are waiting on to arrive are the 2 5/8" barrels.
Linda
Is this replacing the surge? dc blues
Yes. The S2 replaced the surge.
Kara
Any idea when the 32 inch S2s are going to be in stock? chuck
We will not be getting any more S2's until after the holiday season.
Shelbe
I'm not sure what CNT is. Is there any carbon material in the barrel of the bat? Will it comply with 2012 LL bat rules for junior league? Afsfire901
This bat meets all youth baseball requirements, even the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp required. There is no composite in the barrel, only the handle.
Linda
Is the S2 single or double walled? e
Single walled.
Linda
My son plays spring ball in Michigan, how warm does it need to be for use without damage for the S2? kg
The S2 has an alloy barrel, so the temperature is not a factor.
Kara
I'm torn between the Easton S2 big barrel and the Loisville Slugger Vertex 2-1/4 barrel...can you help with comparing these two? Wallrus
It is really going to depend on the size and age of the player. The S2 is going to be heavier because it is a 2 5/8 inch barrel with a -10 drop. And the Vertex is a 2 1/4 inch barrel with a drop -13.
K.B.
i just bought a rival 30 21 love that bat now if it dents and i turn it in for warranty will i get the xl3 or can i get this model? rivalshouldstay
You would have to check with Louisville Slugger directly at 1-800-282-2287
Sean
What is the difference between the S2 and S3? m
The S2 is a two piece bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel. The S3 is a one piece all alloy bat.
Kara
My son is playing 9U and is small..55 lbs. He is not a power hitter, but puts the ball in play consistently...which bat is best for him. mom2boys
The S2 would be a great choice for a contact hitter.
Kara
Is the barrel composite or just the handle is composite. NC baseball
Just the handle on this one is composite.
Linda
Two questions: (1) I know this is replacing the Surge, but wanted to confirm there no truly no difference, other than paint? Specs seem to indicate they are the same bat and should perform the same. (2) Unless player had strong preference for feel of two-piece hybrid over all-alloy, would S3 with 2 3/4" barrel be better option in league where 2 3/4" barrels are allowed? With same weight and same alloy barrels, seems like the 2 3/4 size would be an advantage (but only available in one piece alloys). Thanks. MM
The S2 will have a lower MOI than the Surge. MOI refers to the amount of energy it takes to swing a bat, so the S2 will have a lighter swing weight than the Surge. Other than that there really isn't a ton of differences. I always say if you can use a 2 3/4" bat, then go for it. It will provide more surface area for the player to make contact. The S3 will still feel great to swing and if the player doesn't have a strong preference for the construction of the bat, I strongly consider the 2 3/4" bat.
TJ
How does this bat compare with the senior league Omen, my son likes both bats, he is 13 , contact hitter. Slats
this bat is going to feel quite a bit different than the omen because of the different material, both will have a good amount of pop to them, the S2 will be more balanced than the Omen
Sean
My son hits for both average and power. He has been swinging a Combat B2 but also has an old Easton SV12 he likes a lot. We are looking for a USSSA legal bat for 2012. Would the S2 be comparable to the SV12? Are we better off with the Combat B3 if he did well with the B2? cowboyscoach
Personally, I would stay with the B3, if he was doing really well with it.
Linda
Is there a break-in period on the S2 ? If so how long ? TJ
No, there is no break in period since the S2 is an alloy barrel bat.
John
Which bat should I buy? The EXOGRID 2 or the S2? I really don't know what to choose since they're both comp/alloy bats. Eduardo
They have both been really popular this year. I would say they differ in that the Exogrid is stiffer than the S2. But either of these would be good choices.
Shelbe
Debating whether to purchase S3 vs S2. Does the S2 have an advantage over the S3 besides the difference in price? vs
The S2 is going to be a two-piece bat. This will allow for more flex in the bat.
Ryan
At what point to does it make sense to up a bat size? (as in if your swing speed decreases by only 4mph, does it make sense to go up a bat size?) Rome Home
There are a couple of factors that determine if a player should increase the size of the bat. If they already have good bat speed that is one reason to go up a size. The size will also depend on the height and weight of the player.
Kara
i just bought a s1 31/21 kinda dissapointed in long balls,my son is 10,very big at 5ft 5 130lbs,gets alot of singles but not much power,he was hitting ball a ton with demarini voodoo, should i buy a 32/22 s2 or buy the marichi 32/24 for power and hitting long balls bill
All three bats are two piece bats and are going to peform similar to each other. The S2 is going be the lightest and best for a quick bat speed.
KB
My last bat was a Rival 32/22. I loved the pop but dented way to easy. Now that it is illegal this year, I am debating on whether to buy the S2 or S3. Besides prices, are there any key things I should know? I'm 5'6, 130 pounds, usally bat third or fourth. Seminoles13
The Easton S3 is the model that is replacing the Rival. The S3 is a one piece alloy like the Rival, whereas the S2 is a two piece bat with a composite handle and an alloy barrel. The S3 is going to be pretty durable and will perform very similarly to the Rival.
Jennifer
Should you take batting practice with dimpled balls and does this hurt the bat? little man
The dimpled cage balls can be very destructive to composite and aluminum bats. Some players keep an extra bat on hand to only use in the cages, an older bat or one that you do not mind damaging.
Shelbe
I AM COMPARING THE S2 AND THE DEMARINI VEXXUM. WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES?? REBEL 13
The S2 will have a slightly lower MOI than the Vexxum. A lower MOI means a ligher swing weight for the player.
Tyler
Which one of the s-series is better I'm looking at the S2? beto3
The S1 is their top of the line as it is all composite. The S2 is just behind the S1 and has an alloy barrel with a composite handle. The S3 is just behind the S2 and is one-piece all alloy.
Tyler
The S1 is a two piece full composite, the S2 is a two piece with an alloy barrel and composite handle, and the S3 is a one piece full alloy bat.
Brad
Why does the s2 have a composite handle what does that do for the bat if the barrel is alloy? SeanEcll
The composite handle will give the bat flex. An alloy bat is going to be much stiffer.
KB
I can't decide between the s2 and the s3 which one do you think is the better choice? ScottyD
This depends on what kind of hitter you are. The S2 is a two piece bat, which is a great choice for contact hitters. Contact hitters prefer two piece bats, because of the whip-like effect the two piece design gives the ball is hit. The S3 is a one piece alloy bat, which is great for power hitters. Power hitters tend to prefer one piece designs since they are very stiff and help generate power.
Jennifer
Is the s2 very good for a power hitter or not? ScottD
The S2 is a good bat for any player looking to increase their bat speed.
Tyler
Is this bat legal for pony league? Ace
Yes, the S2 is legal in Pony League for 2012.
Kara
Between the s2 and the s3 which one has a longer barrel and sweet spot? d pain
The S2 and S3 are very similar, they share the same barrels. The difference between these two bats is in handles. The S2 is a two piece bat with a composite handle and the S3 is a one piece all alloy bat.
Kris
does the bat get messed up if it is used in the cold 12345
This bat is a half and half contruction, with the barrel being alloy. The composite material is what you would need to worry about in the lower temperatures, because they do have issues with cracking when you begin playing in 50 degree and under temperatures. The alloy barrel is what you would want to be using. Here is the link to the SL11S210 to view more features on this bat. http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-s2--sl11s210-senior-league/14522/
Derek
The other day I was at All Out Baseball and I asked the guy about the S2 and he showed me a BBCOR S2 and the barrel was able to spin around. Is this one any better? dpain
The barrel on this bat is not supposed to spin or move. The bats that we have here do not do that. It will come with a 12 month manufacturers warranty, so if something like that were to happen, it would be covered under that warranty.
Jennifer
Does the S2 Easton -10 bat have a break in period? Brian
This bat will not require a break in period because it has an alloy barrel. This bat will be hot right out of the wrapper!
John
Is this bat legal for babe ruth/cal ripken 13-15 years old? Eel River
This bat is legal for use in a 13-15 year old Babe Ruth Division. It does not exceed the barrel diameter limit and has an alloy barrel, so it does not need to be BBCOR certified. Since rules do change from league to league, I would suggest to check with your coach or leagues official just to make sure though.
Jennifer
This bat is legal in the 13-15 year old division within Babe Ruth baseball. It is not legal in the Cal Ripken Division though. The Cal Ripken Division is for younger players and they have a barrel size limit of 2 1/4 inches
Tyler
My 11y/o son is swinging a DeMarini CF5 31"21oz. He's a strong kids but a little slower bat speed. would the S2 help with quicker bat speed compared to the CF5? Also is it worth it? Stimpy
The S1, S2 or S3 would all have lighter swing weights, great for players looking to improve swing speed. The S1 is most comparable to the CF5 as it is also a two-piece composite bat. I think any of those bats would benefit your son.
Tyler
I'm thinking of getting either the S2 or S3. Which Is better? He is a power hitter but he needs bat speed so I'm thinking which bat is better. BallBusters Mom 24
Power hitters normally prefer a one piece bat like the S3. The Easton Speed Series is excellent for players who need bat speed.
Kara
My Son is 11 he is currently swinging the Easton Rival, How does the Easton S2 compare to the Rival? Jabo12
The main difference between the Easton Rival and the Easton S2 is the Easton Rival is a one-piece fully aluminum design, whereas the Easton S2 is a two-piece hybrid design (composite handle/aluminum barrel).
Tom
would you recommend this bat to a contact hitter if not what bat would you recommend? hello
The S2 is a two piece bat with a light swing weight that is a great option for a contact hitters. I would absolutely recommend it.
Tyler
I'm thinking of getting either the Easton S1 or the Easton S2 for my son who is 8(last year of CP). Which Is better? He is a contact hitter and needs bat speed so I'm thinking which bat is better. Randy
The Easton S1 and the Easton S2 have the same balanced weight distribution which allows for increased bat speed. The main difference is that the Easton S1 has a composite barrel and the Easton S2 has a aluminum barrel. Here is a link to take a closer look at the two bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
Is it a bbcor bat? packman
No. Only Adult -3 bats are eligible for BBCOR certification.
Tyler
Is this bat approved for Pony in 2013? packman
The Easton SL11S210 is currently approved for play in Pony ball. Pony has not released their 2013 rules, but the S2 should remain legal.
Tyler
Hey does this bat compare to the Easton Stealth? Tman
The Easton S2 is the new model of the Easton Surge . Both have a composite handle and an aluminum barrel. Here is a link to compare those two bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
What drop weight is better for a 5'4 120lb player , -8 or -10? batman
That depends on the weight of the bat you're currently using. You don't want to move down in weight, and I wouldn't recommend moving up more than 2 or 3 ounces from what you're using now.
Tyler
Son is 10, 58" and 105#, he has loved and refused to leave behind an old Reflex small barrel but have to get a usssa legal big barrel for fall - he's a power hitter best at line drives straight up the middle - want a bat from this series but wondering if the S2 would be too big a diff in bat feel compared to S3 and also what size you'd recommend, thanks! thatmom
If your son loved the Reflex and had a lot of success with it, my top recommendation would be the Easton S3. Like the Reflex, the S3 is a one piece, full alloy bat. Players are known to have more success when they stick with the same type of bat or same model they have used previously with success. Based on his height and weight, a 30" model would be recommended.
Tyler
Would this bat be legal in junior league? Damien
Yes. The Easton S2 has an alloy barrel and is approved in the Junior Division of Little League.
Tyler
I need a bat with a lot of pop. Should I get the S2 or the S1? ljd
The Easton S2 and the Eaton S1 have great pop. Typically composite barrel bats like the Easton S1 perform better because the composite material acts as a trampoline. The more the bat is used, the farther it goes. However, for an alloy bat, the Easton S2 is very high performing.
Kara
My son is 12 and moving up from majors to juniors. He is a contact hitter. He was using a CF4 -11 31/20. Would the Easton S2 be a good bat to use for junior league? Nana
Yes, the Easton S3 is a great model to use for Little League Juniors. It is a very high performing two piece hybrid model. It has a high performing alloy barrel and a light weight but stiff composite handle.
John
what is the diffrence from the s2 and s1 what upgrades do they have and which one is overal better for a contact hitter? nate
The S1 is a two piece, full composite bat. The S2 is a two piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The S1 is Easton's top of the line bat, but both are excellent choices for a contact hitter.
Tyler
I have the S2 - the CXN brace between the handle and the barrell seems to be slipping off/separating from the barrell a little bit - is that normal for a newer bat? Steve
This is not common. It sounds like your bat may have become defective. If you call Easton at 1-888-259-1297, they will set you up with a replacement.
Tyler
Will this bat be legal in 2013? KIng
Yes, the Easton S2 Senior League bat has the USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp legal for play in 2013.
Damon
When will a 31 inch be back in stock? Batter
The Easton S2 is discontinued. We will not receive more inventory.
Kara
What is the difference between the S1, S2, and S3 bats? Caper
The Easton S1 is a two-piece all composite bat. The Easton S2 is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and a composite handle. The Easton S3 is a one-piece all alloy.
Kara
When will the new line of Easton bats come out? Nick
Easton will release their new line of bats in November.
Tom
Can you compare this with the 2013 CF5 please. And which one has more pop. Im also 5'3 and 94 pounds. please help. 19tigers68
The Easton S2 is a two-piece hybrid design so it has a composite handle and aluminum barrel, whereas the 2013 DeMarini CF5 is a two-piece fully composite bat. Both bats will have an even weight distribution. Here is a link to further compare the two bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
My son is 10, 4'9 70lbs. During Rec ball he used a Easton XL 2 29-18, and hit well with it. Also, playing travel ball using a Easton Surge XXL 28-18, and hitting very well with it. He is a contact hitter with good bat speed, and hitting shots with the Surge. Not known for being a power hitter cause of his size, but has been doing well with the bigger barrel. I was wondering when do I need to get a bigger/longer bat when he's doing well with the 28"? coachg
That's a difficult question for us to answer without being able to see and analyze his swing. I recommend our Bat Coach. It's a great tool for determining what length of bat is best for your player: http://www.batwarehouse.com/bat-coach/
Tyler
Will this bat be legal in 2013 for USSSA play? Mike
Yes. The Easton S2: SL11S210 has the new USSSA stamp and will be legal in USSSA in 2013.
Tyler
will they make this bat for a drop 5 ? King
Unfortunately, Easton will not be producing the S2 in a -5.
Tyler
My son has the S1 28/18. We play year round, but I noticed it doesn't perform well in lower temperatures. Does temperature also affect the S2? Super Jake
The lower temperatures will not affect the Easton S2. The Easton S1 can be used in temperatures above 45 degrees.
Kara
Can you use this bat for Babe Ruth? None
Yes, the Easton S2 Senior League bat can be used in Babe Ruth baseball.
Noah
Is it for power hitters? nick
The Easton S2: SL11S210 is a balanced bat with a light swing weight that is often preferred by hitters with average strength and swing speed.
Tyler
Will the 2013 bat of this be the same colors and when do they come out? Gghh
The new 2013 Easton line will be released mid November. The Easton Speed line will still keep the same look cosmetically while the XL series will be switching over to a yellow base color with black being the secondary color.
John
Which bat will have the most pop? The Easton S2 or the DeMarini Vexxum? mace
Both the Easton S2 and the DeMarini Vexxum will perform very similar since they are two-piece hybrid bats.
Aubrey
Do you have an exact date when the new bat of this comes out? Gtery
November 15th, 2012.
Tyler
My son is smaller than other kids in the league, and I want to get him a bat to maximize his pop. Which is the better choice, the S1 or the S2? Matt
The Easton S1 has a composite barrel so it will get hotter out of the box than the Easton S2 which is an alloy barrel.
Damon
I am 5 foot 8 125 pounds 12 years old I need a -8 bat. I am a well balanced hitter with good power, which bat do you recommend the Easton S2, Easton S1 or Eason XL1. BOMBER
With your size for being a 12 year old you would be better of with the Easton XL1, because it is more for power hitters.
Noah
What's the difference between the 2012 and 2013 Easton S2 Models? Jak
The 2013 Easton S2 has SIC Black Carbon Composite Handle. This is an upgrade from the 2012 model.
Zach
My son is 12 and is more of a contact hitter than a power hitter. I'm trying to decide between the Easton S2 and the Easton S3. Which will give him more power and pop? Jak
The Easton S2 is going to work better for your son, because it is more balanced, and it has a two-piece design which is great for any contact hitter. Both bats will perform the same though, making them both have an equal amount of pop
Noah

Is the Easton S2: SL11S210 (2-5/8") bat legal for the Pony Baseball League? Pony Rules says it needs to have the USSSA 1.15 BPF print (which it does) and "pony baseball approved" stamped on it. This bat does not have the pony baseball approved stamp on it. meister
The Easton S2: SL11S210 Senior League bat does have the USSSA 1.15 bpf markings on the barrel. That should be all you need. It looks like currently we only have a 28" 18 oz. 2012 Easton S2 in stock. I would still check with your coach or league official to make sure that this bat is OK for you.
