Description

Easton truly believes that every player should have the opportunity to hit for power. However, the road to power hitting is different for every player. Some players need extra bat speed to reach their full power potential, while others need more weight and a bigger barrel. That's why Easton is changing the game this season and taking an approach to bats that no other manufacturer has ever tried before. Introducing the POWER Brigade; Two series, one distinct result. Whether you prefer the fast swinging Speed Series or the heavier extended barrel XL Series, POWER will be your outcome. Forget flashy designs and gimmicky names, these bats produce RESULTS. The Speed Series (S1, S2, S3) features the lowest Moment of Inertia (M.O.I.) on the market to create light swing weights and generate more power. On the other side of the spectrum, the XL Series (XL1, XL2, XL3) features extra long barrels designed to give players expanded hitting zones and more mass in the barrel, generating more power in every swing. Easton really does strive to fulfill the preferences of any type of player as both series come in two-piece IMX Composite designs (S1 and XL1), two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Aluminum hybrid designs (S2 and XL2), and one-piece THT100 Aluminum designs (S3 and XL3). As for the materials, Easton's patented IMX Composite has proven to be one of the highest performing materials in the game year after year, while THT100 Aluminum provides superior dent and crack resistance. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology and you have a new line of bats that is second to none. Easton: We Believe In Power! This bat is BBCOR Certified and approved for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Great grip. Simple but cool bat graphic. Not top heavy at all, which makes it better for contact hitters like me. Get this bat, cheaper and gonna be a better bbcor

Cons: chips easy at barrel, but it won't change the pop

Pros: We had bat reps come out to our practice and let us hit with several top bats. I hit the ball farther and harder with this bat than any of the others. I have used it in five games and I am definitely hitting ball harder. Good bat!

Cons: Have not used the bat long enough to find any cons yet.

Pros: Had to get a new bat for high school. I am a smaller player and the balance on this bat is perfect. I feel better with my balance than I did with my Stealth composite bat that I used in Pony. The grip looks cool, but it felt slippery after using it in my first batting practice. I put a black tape grip on it and now everyone on my team wants to get this bat. Love it!

Cons: the original grip but that isn't why I bought the bat.

Pros: I have just tried this bat too. It is an excellent BBCOR bat. Very well balanced. I still like the XL3 better, but this on is great also. Why spend $100 to $200 dollars more for a BBCOR bat when either of these two will do just fine.

Pros: Very well balanced bat. Son tried several bats prior to purchasing this bat looking for good balance and a favorable swing weight. Weight distribution on this bat was most favorable to helping him reach his bat speed potential. Good pop but I think this has to do with the fact that his bat speed is maximized with this bat.

Pros: Nice grip and balance.

Cons: At the beginning of the season, my son and several of his teammates were excited to use the new S3. However, after about two weeks they realized that this bat has little or no pop. Nobody uses it anymore, which is tremendously frustrating. I recently purchased another bat (ugh!) from a different manufacturer and my son is now driving the ball all over the field.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton S3 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB11S3? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

How does this bat compare to other BBCOR bats on the market? AJ
The Easton S3 is one of the hottest selling BBCOR bats that have hit the market. The S3 is a well balanced one-piece aluminum design.
Todd
Should contact hitters stick with one piece alloy bats or is a 2 piece bat a good option as well? rikeni
Contact hitters typically prefer two-piece bats over one-piece designs as the two-piece construction provides more flex when swinging the bat. Power hitters typically prefer using one-piece designs.
Mark
Which Power Brigade bat would be best for a contact hitter with some power? S series or XL series? rikeni
If you are a contact hitter with some power, I would recommend either the S1, S2, or S3 from the Speed series. However, if you want to go with the XL series, I would suggest going with either the XL1 or XL2, but probably stay away from the XL3 as it is geared specifically towards a power hitter.
Mark
Will you be carrying the XL3 model? Bunt
Yes, we currently carry the Easton XL3. http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-xl3-bbcor--bb11x3-adult/14434/
Todd
Should I get this bat or the 5150 BBCOR? I like this bats cool graphics...... I am more of a contact hitter. Matt 15
The Easton S3 is a one-piece aluminum design that has a very well balanced feel to it. If you like the graphics on the S3, then I would probably go with the S3. If you like the graphics on the Rawlings 5150 better, then I would say go with the 5150. They are very comparable bats.
Todd
This is a one-piece bat. Therefore, is this bat for a power hittter? But there is also the XL3, which is advertised for power hitters? So is Speed Series for contact hitters and XL series for power hitters and disregard if it's a two-piece or one-piece bat? Easton fan
The Easton S3 is a one-piece bat, which is typically preferred more by power hitters. Because the S3 is so balanced, many contact hitters may use the S3 as well. The S1 and S2 will be better suited for a contact hitter. The XL series is the same way in the XL3 being more for a power hitter and the XL1 and XL2 being more of a contact hitters bat. However, the XL series has a slightly longer barrel leading to more of an end loaded feel.
Todd
Trying to decide between the S2 and the S3. Do both have regular flex handles? My son is mostly a contact hitter but does show some power at times. soxers
The Easton S3 is a one-piece, all aluminum design. The Easton S2 is a two-piece bat with a composite handle and aluminum barrel. The Easton S2 will have a bit more flex to it making it beneficial for contact or gap hitter looking to add more pop. The S3 would be more beneficial for natural power hitters as it does not have a flex handle like most two-piece designs.
John
This is a one-piece bat correct? Mitch
Yes, the Easton S3 is a one-piece aluminum design.
Tim
What BBCOR bat comes from the Easton Rival? hounddog
If you're looking for the Easton Rival BBCOR bat, check out model number BG2. The Easton S3 is a replacement for the Easton Rival as they are both one-piece aluminum designs. We have some Easton Rivals left at http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-rival-bbcor--bg2-adult/13061/
Sean
Which bat would you reccomend, this one or the Rawlings BBCOR 5150? aiden
I would actually recommend both. The Rawlings 5150 and the Easton S3 are both great BBCOR bats. They are very comparable in the fact that they are both one-piece alloy/aluminum bats.
Sean
How does the S3 compare to the S2? tine
The Easton S3 is a one-piece bat and the Easton S2 is a two-piece bat. The one-piece bat is more for power hitters and the two-piece bat is more for contact hitters. One-piece bats have less flex than two-piece bats.
Todd
Both bats are excellent bats. The Easton S3 is a one-piece aluminum bat while the Easton S2 is a two-piece bat with composite handle and an aluminum barrel. The S3 is designed for power hitters due to the one-piece design and the S2 is for contact hitters due to the two-piece design. A two-piece bat has more flex than a one-piece bat causing more of a whipping action when swung.
Travis
Does the end cap have occurrences of coming off if hit towards end of the bat? Also is this bat for contact or power hitters? LGinds14CHS
We have not heard of many issues with the end cap coming off. A one-piece bat like the Easton S3 is designed more for power hitters. Two-piece bats like the Easton S1 and Easton S2 are more for contact hitters. If the end cap does happen to come off, it will be covered under twelve month manufacturer's warranty through Easton.
Steve
I'm 6'1" 190lbs, and am currently swinging the Marucci Cat 5. I like it alot, except for the handle. I'm a power hitter and have fast bat speed. Would the easton S3 or XL3 be a bettter choice? or should I wait for the new Marucci to come out? bulldog4life
We do not have much information on the new Marucci bats, but the new Easton S3 and XL3 are very good options. The Easton S3 will help generate a quicker swing similar to the Marucci Cat 5. The Easton XL3 has a slight end loaded feel but has a slightly longer barrel than the Easton S3 and Marucci Cat 5.
Sean
I'm a 5-5 120 pound sophomore who's more of a defensive player who hits for contact. None of the pitchers in my league throw gas so should I go for this or the XL? Hollister
The Easton S3 is going to be more of a well balanced bat, so you will probably be able to generate more bat speed with the Easton S3. The Easton XL3 is going to have a slight end loaded feel, but also has a slightly longer barrel. The S3 will probably be a better fit for a contact hitter over the XL3. The XL1 and XL2 may be another option to look into.
K.B.
I was wondering if the S3 is a better bat than the Cat 5? Big B
The Easton S3 and the Marucci Cat 5 are very comparable bats as they are both balanced and one-piece alloy designs. The S3 and the Cat 5 are both high performing durable bats.
K.B.
Which Power Brigade bat would be best for a four hole hitter who wants to also have a quick swing speed? HHH
The Easton S3 is one of the best options for a clean up hitter who still wants quick bat speed. The Easton S3 is a one-piece bat which is perfect for a power hitter, but the S3 is also very well balanced.
K.B.
I am a 5'8" 130lb. junior. I have fast bat speed but am more of a contact hitter. Which Easton bat would be best for me? Spence
The Easton S3 is more for power hitters because it is a one-piece design. The Easton S3 may still be used by contact hitters as it does have a well balanced weight. However, the Easton S1 and the Easton S2 are two-piece designs that may be better suited for contact hitters.
K.B.
Which BBCOR bat on the market would be best for a power hitter? Tedwards
The Easton S3 is perfect for a power hitter unless you want a slightly end loaded bat. In that case, the Easton XL3 is another great option.
K.B.
Would you recommend this bat for a power hitter? This is my first year of high school ball and I'm looking for a BBCOR bat with great POP. What would be your suggestion? This Easton or another? bigfoot
The Easton S3 is a great bat for a power hitter. If you want a slightly end loaded bat, the Easton XL3 would be an excellent choice as well. More information on the Easton XL3 may be found at http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-xl3-bbcor--bb11x3-adult/14434/
K.B.
What is the difference between the S3 and the S2 Easton BBCOR bats? Will
The Easton S3 is a one-piece aluminum bat and the Easton S2 is a two-piece hybrid design, meaning that it has an aluminum barrel and a composite handle.
Kara
What series would you recomend if you have both power and swing speed? Cricket
I would recommend the Easton XL series which are slightly end loaded but they have a longer barrel than the S series. These are great for power hitters.
Kara
Is the Easton S3 a better bat than the 2 piece DeMarini Versus for a contact hitter? cameron
The Demarini Versus is more for contact hitters as it is a two-piece design. The Easton S3 is better suited for power hitters. The Easton S2 is also a two-piece bat that would be great for contact hitters.
K.B.
I am about 5'10", 170 pounds. I have some pull power at times and very fast hands.. Mostly a doubles and triples kinda guy though. Which one of these new Easton bats would fit me best? whitey
I would look at the XL series, the S series is going to help the player increase bat speed where as the xl series is going to help the player generate more pop off of the bat. The Easton S-Series has more of a well-balanced swing weight and the Easton XL-Series has more of an end loaded feel.
Sean
Should a contact hitter go with the S1, S2, or S3 baseball bat? MCP
The Easton S1 or Easton S2 would be the better option for a contact hitter since they are both two-piece bats with more flex. The Easton S1 is a two-piece full composite design and the Easton S2 is a two-piece hybrid design.
John
I'm a contact hitter and i'm looking at the S3 BBCOR and the XL3 alloy BBCOR. Which one should I go with? baseball123
The Easton S3 will be more evenly balanced. The Easton XL3 will be more end-loaded. Stronger power hitters would probably prefer the XL3. A contact hitter or power hitter with a slower bat speed would probably be better suited with the Easton S3.
Derek
Which bat out of the Speed Series and XL Series is not end heavy and has the most pop for a mostly contact hitter but can show a little pull power..I've seen where experts have said one-piece is for power hitters and some say one-piece is for contact, so im not sure what to go with. Thanks! nick123
The Speed Series will be evenly balanced and not end-loaded like the XL Series. The Easton S1 will be the highest performing and Easton's top of the line followed by the S2 and S3. The Easton S3 is a stiffer bat that stronger hitters often prefer.
Derek
Will this bat perform the way the 2011 Easton Speed did? bombdropper23456789
The Easton S3 is designed to perform as close to the Speeds of the past as much as the BBCOR certification allows.
Linda
What's the difference in the Easton S3 and the XL3? parker
The Easton XL3 has more of an end-loaded feel as the barrel is slight longer (better suited for stronger power hitters). The Easton S3 has a more balanced swing weight (better suited for contact hitters or power hitters looking to increase their swing speed).
TJ
What is the difference between the S1 and S3 other than the price? joey
If you check the features out you will see that the Easton S3 is a one-piece aluminum design and the Easton S1 is two-piece fully composite design. Composite bats and two-piece bats tend to be a little pricier as they have a high production cost.
KG
I have to find a bat for mt first year of high school ball and there are 2 bats that I am looking at. Easton S3 and Easton XL3. What would you suggest for a 5'9'' 210 power hitter? bulldog
The XL3 would be more tailored to the power hitting type framed athlete if you have a quick bat speed. The Easton S3 can also be used by a power hitter with a slower bat speed. The S3 is more balanced than the XL3, but the XL3 has a slightly longer barrel.
Derek
I'm a power hitter but I think my bat speed is a part of my game. My past bat has been the Rival. Which bat do you think will best suit me, the S3 or the XL3? Jay
If you are a power hitter, the Easton XL3 is going to be tailored more for you if you already have a great bat speed. If you have an average bat speed, but are a power hitter, I would say the S3 may be a good option. With the new design, these bats have been specifically manufactured for the power, and to integrate the speed with it as well.
Derek
My son is a power hitter and from what I read should be using a 1 piece bat. For 2012, which is best? Easton? Rawlings? etc, and which model? jeff
There are so many excellent one-piece BBCOR bats. This one, the Easton S3 is a good one, as is the Easton XL3. The Rawlings 5150 is another great one-piece alloy design. Louisville Slugger makes the TPX Omaha. There is also the COMBAT B3, Nike Aero, Marucci Cat 5, and many more. All would be great for a power hitter.
Linda
What is the difference of the sound of the S3 compared to the S1 when you hit the ball? Gene
The Easton S3 is an aluminum bat, so it is going to have a ping sound. The Easton S1 is a full composite bat, so it will have more of a thud sound coming off of the bat
Sean
What is difference between the S3, XL3 and Rival with the THT 100, the Demarini M2M SC4 alloy and Reflex 7050 alloy. Is there a preference or performance difference with each of these materials? MD
Every manufacturer has their patented alloy. The Easton S3 is designed more like the old Speed bat, with the low MOI for a faster bat speed. The Easton XL line is an extended barrel.
Linda
How does this bat compare to the 2012 TPX Warrior? win3
The Easton S3 and the Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior are both one-piece alloy designs. The metal used in the Easton S3 is a little more durable than the alloy used in the Warrior. If you are looking for a Louisville Slugger alloy bat that is more comparable to the Easton S3, I would say the TPX Omaha is a closer comparison than the TPX Warrior.
Linda
Do one-piece bats or two-piece bats generaly have more pop? joe
The answer to that lies with what type of hitter the player is. Most power hitters prefer and one-piece bat and most contact hitters prefer a two-piece bat. Two-piece bats provide more flex, giving the bat more of a whipping action when the player swings the bat.
Linda
Which Power Brigade would be best for a speedy leadoff hitter who hits for average? hit
The Easton S-Series is the best option out of the S-Series versus the XL-Series. Most contact hitters prefer to use a two-piece model like the S1 or the S2 and most power hitters prefer to use a one-piece model like the Easton S3. The XL series is going to have a slightly longer barrel, but the bat feels slightly more end heavy.
Derek
What's the difference between the S2 and S3? nick
The Easton S2 is a two-piece construction with the handle constructed out of composite material and the barrel being alloy. The Easton S3 is a one-piece full aluminum construction.
Derek
The Easton S2 is a two-piece hybrid design and the Easton S3 is a one-piece all alloy design.
Linda
Is this bat ok to use in 13 youth baseball and is it ok for high school baseball? c rad
Yes, the Easton S3 is BBCOR certified, so it is legal for play at almost every level that allows big barrel bats. The certification for high school and collegiate baseball is the BBCOR certification.
Sean
I'm an average hitter with some power and can make contact sometimes. Which its better for me, the S3 or the XL3? KTH
The Easton S3 had a more balanced swing weight to it. The XL3 is going to have a slightly longer barrel, but also feels more end loaded. If you have great bat speed, the XL3 may not be a bad option, but if you have average bat speed, the S3 may be the better fit for you.
Nick
Did this bat take the place of the Rival? JEFF
Yes, the Easton S3 bat did replace the Easton Rival. They are both one-piece aluminum bats.
Sean
Will this bat be legal to use at Babe Ruth in 2012 and longer? alexo
Yes, the Easton S3 is legal in Babe Ruth play for 2012. We are uncertain of what future rule changes may apply, but as of now, we have not heard of any rule changes in the near future.
Sean
Does this bat have a stiff or regular flex handle? wcrooks
The Easton S3 has a stiff handle. The Easton S1 and the Easton S2 are two-piece bats, so they have more flex in their handle.
Sean
What is the difference between the S3, S2 and S1? Pat
The Easton S3 is going to be the replacement for the Rival, so it will be a one-piece all alloy. The Easton S2 is going to be the replacement for the Surge, so it is a two-piece model having an alloy barrel and composite handle. While the Easton S1 is going to be the replacement for the Omen; it is going to be a two-piece fully composite design.
John
Which 30" BBCOR bat is the easiest to swing (most balanced and not end loaded)? The Easton S3 or the Rawlings Plasma? not too shaby
The Easton S3 and the Rawlings Plasma are both well balanced bats.
K.B.
What is the difference between the Easton S3 BBCOR and the Easton XL3 BBCOR bats? big bomber5
The Easton S3 is part of the Speed series and is going to have a more balanced feel to it. The Easton XL3 is going to have a slightly longer barrel and has a slight end load feel to it. The S3 and the XL3 are both one-piece fully aluminum bats.
Kara
Am getting kinda confused. People are saying different things. Which is for contact hitters one-piece or two-piece? Jr
Two-piece bats are better suited for contact hitters. They create more flex through the zone and should give contact hitters or hitters with below average swing speed more pop. One-piece bats are typically better suited for power hitters as they provide more stiffness and not as much flex when swung.
TJ
What's the difference between the S3, S2, or S1? Josh
The Easton S1 is a two-piece bat with a composite barrel and composite handle. The Easton S2 is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The S3 is a one-piece bat that is all aluminum. All of the bats from the Easton S-Series are great high performing bats.
TJ
I'm a freshmen in high school. I have some upper body strength and I was wondering which bat would be better the Easton S3, the Easton Surge, or the Easton XL3? Sheep
The Easton S3 and the Easton XL3 are going to be newer models and have more up to date technology in the design of the bats. The S3 and the XL3 are both one-piece designs, which are typically preferred by many power hitters. The Easton Surge is a two-piece bat which are preferred by a lot of contact hitters.
K.B.
If you could pick out of the Easton S3, the Marucci Cat 5, and the Rawlings 5150 BBCOR bat, which would you choose? Justin
WOW. All three of those bats are great BBCOR bats. I'd put all three in a hat and draw one out. They are very solid bats and have great pop off the barrel. If you go with the Easton S3, the Marucci Cat 5, or the Rawlings 5150, you won't be disappointed with whatever bat you choose.
KG
How does this compare to the Marucci Cat 5 squared? mjbaseball
The Marucci Cat 5 and the Easton S3 are going to be very good and have a lot of pop. They are both one-piece aluminum/alloy designs that have a balanced swing weight.
Sean
What you reccomond this bat even if im a power hitter? AA
Yes, the Easton S3 is a one-piece bat that works great for a power hitter who is looking for optimal control.
Shelbe
Is the S3 like the Easton Surge? Rooster
The Easton S3 is very similar to the Easton Rival. The Easton S3 is a one-piece aluminum bat that is very high performing and durable.
Sean
My 13 year old son used a DeMarini Distance model DSR11 (31 inch -8) last summer with great success. He has a quick swing with strong line drives with occasional power (he batted 1st in lineup). I am looking for a BBCOR bat now for this summer. Looking at Eastons S or XL series or DeMarini Voodoo. Which would be the BBCOR equivalent (feel and build) to what he used to? TIA. Don
The Distance is a one-piece all aluminum bat. The only BBCOR bat from Demarini that we have in stock that is like that is the Versus. However, of the bats that you mention, the S3 or Rival would be most similar to the Distance. The Voodoo is a two-piece bat that has a composite handle, and alumium barrel.
Bodie
What is the difference between the S1, S2, and S3? Which one has the most pop? dave
The Easton S1 is a two-piece all composite bat. The Easton S2 is a two-piece bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel. The Easton S3 is a one-piece all aluminum bat. They are all high performing bats. If you prefer a one-piece design, the S3 is the way to go. If you prefer a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel, the S2 will be your best option and if you prefer a two-piece design with a composite barrel, the S1 will be your best option.
KB
I need a BBCOR bat and I tried out my friends S2 and loved it, but it's out of my price range. What's the difference between the S2 and S3? chase
The Easton S2 and the Easton S3 have the same barrel composition as they are both aluminum barrels. The Easton S3 is a one-piece aluminum design and the Easton S2 is a two-piece hybrid design.
Shelbe
Is this bat a USSSA bat? beau
No, this Easton S3 model is not a USSSA bat. It is certified for adult baseball with a BBCOR certification. This bat is legal for play in some USSSA senior leagues or tourneys that allow big barrel bats to be used. The Easton S3 SL11S310B and the Easton S3 SL11S310 Senior League bats are USSSA bats.
Shelbe
How does this bat differ from Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB11X3 Adult? Which one would you recommend and which type of hitter is each of the two for? logank87
The Easton S3 has a more balanced weight to it and the Easton XL3 has a more end-loaded feel and a little longer barrel. The Easton S3 and the Easton XL3 are very comparable bats, it simply comes down to personal preference as to which bat you prefer to swing.
KG
How does this bat compare to the S1 and S2? Chris
The Easton S1 is a two-piece fully composite design. The Easton S2 is a two-piece hybrid design with a composite handle and aluminum barrel. The Easton S3 is a one-piece aluminum design.
Ryan
Does the bat require breaking in? ColPat
No, the Easton S3 is a one-piece alloy bat which will not require any break-in period. Bats that have barrels that are constructed of composite material require a break-in period.
John
Was told that the 29/26 version of this doesn't have the BBCOR stamp on it. Is this true? jason
I have personally checked the 29/26 bat and it has the BBCOR stamp.
Kara
Compare the balance and "lightness" of the S3 versus the Marucci Cat 5. Dobie
The Easton S3 and the Marucci Cat 5 are very similar. Both models are designed to have a lighter swing weight and more stiffness as they will not flex as much as a two-piece bat during your swinging motion.
John
How does this bat compare to the others in it's series? lk25
The Easton S3 is a one-piece alloy design. The Easton S2 is a two-piece hybrid design and the Easton S1 is a two-piece fully composite design.
Ryan
is there a reason why the S3 is cheaper than the S2? I understand the S2 is half composite therefore it bends more at contact but is that really that big a deal? Should I get the S2 or S3? austin
All alloy bats are the cheapest to manufacture, and therefore cheaper in price, but the Easton S3 is very high performing. If you are a power hitter, I would go with the S3 since it is stiffer. However, if you are a contact hitter, the S2 may be a better option.
Kara
My son is 14 years old 5 ft 11" and 135 lbs. Would the Easton S3 be a good bat? He has very fast bat speed and we had a problem with light bats. Is the S3 balanced or end loaded? bassmaster
The Easton S3 is a very balanced bat. If your son already has great bat speed, I would recommend the Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB11X3 Adult, which is end loaded.
Kara
What is the difference between this bat and the XL3? Which one would feel lighter and more balanced? Sam
The Easton XL3 is going to have a slightly larger barrel but have a more end loaded feel. The Easton S3 is designed more for your contact hitters who prefer the balanced swing weight.
John
Is this USSSA certified? fondo
The Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult bat is not USSSA certified. Instead, it is BBCOR certified, which makes it legal for high school and collegiate play. The BBCOR certification is the strongest certification there is and because of this, BBCOR bats are legal for play in USSSA sanctioned events. The models that are specifically USSSA certified are the YB11S3, SL11S310, or SL11S310B models by Easton.
Jennifer
I'm 5' 7" 130 lbs...I am more of a line drive and contact hitter than a power hitter. Would the S3 be a good bat to use? Superman
Contact hitters usually prefer a two-piece bat like the Easton S1 or Easton S2 because they have more flex. The Easton S3 is a great bat and can be used by a contact hitter, however, it is a one-piece design, which is typically preferred more by power hitters. The Easton S3 still has a well balanced swing weight, which is beneficial to many contact hitters.
KB
Is this bat legal for the 2012 high school baseball year? lk25
The Easton S3 BBCOR is legal for high school play for the 2012 season as it is BBCOR certified.
Brad
Im confused, sometimes you say the Easton S3 is for contact hitters but sometimes you say it is for power hitters? Which one is it? I am a contact hitter so which bat would be best for me out of all bats? Quipmejia
The Easton S3 is a one-piece bat. With that being said, more power hitters prefer a one-piece bat because it is going to be pretty stiff and that stiffness helps generate more power. More contact hitters prefer two-piece bats because they offer more flex than a one-piece, which helps their swing by providing a whipping action. If you are looking for a good bat for a contact hitter in Easton's Speed series, I would suggest checking out the S2 or S1.
Jennifer
Should I get this or the DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR? Why? Ram
Much of it comes down to your personal preference. The Easton S3 is a one-piece bat that won't offer as much flex as the two-piece Voodoo. If you are looking to increase your bat speed, the S3 may be a better option. The Voodoo will offer a little more whipping action through the zone due to it's two-piece design and may help put a little more pop behind your hits. With that being said, the Voodoo and the S3 are both great bats.
Tyler
Is there any difference in technology between this bat and the Easton Rival? If so, what are the differences? cbreazey14
The S3 will have a slightly lower MOI than the Rival. A lower MOI means the bat will have a lighter swing speed. Other than that, there aren't a ton of differences besides the most up to date research and development with the newer models.
Tyler
What is the difference between the S1 abd S3? Alec96
The S1 is a two-piece bat with a composite barrel and composite handle. The Easton S3 is a one-piece bat that is all alloy. Both will have similar balance and feel, but I would give an edge to the S1 in terms of performance if you are a contact hitter. If you are a power hitter, I would say the S3 may be a better fit.
Tyler
How much of a difference in the S3 then the Reflex BX81? Son is 13 and needs a new bat, likes both. 100 dollars more for S3 is it worth it? seasonal
Based on customer feedback and personal experience, I would say the Easton S3 is a better performing bat. However, the Reflex still performs good and has excellent durability. In my opinion, it's worth it but comes down to personal preference on what you want to spend.
Jay
Is this bat made for contact hitters? Ant
This is a one-piece bat, which is usually preferred by power hitters. Contact hitters can definitely use it too if they have a quick bat speed. Most contact hitters prefer two-piece bats because they aren't going to be as stiff and the two-piece design offers a little bit of flex, which helps create a whipping action with their swing.
Jennifer
The Easton S3 has a lower MOI which equals a lighter swing weight, making it a good choice for contact hitters looking to increase bat speed.
Tyler
What is the diffrence between the S1, the S2, and the S3? If I have a more powerful swing should I use this bat or the Easton XL2? Big BArrell Boy
The Easton S1 is two-piece all composite bat. The Easton S2 is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The Easton S3 is a one-piece bat that's all alloy. Strong players with good swing speed may benefit from the XL Series as it has a little longer barrel but will have a heavier swing weight than the S Series.
Tyler
My sons league requires bats that are all aluminum/alloy barrel and all composite handle only aluminum/alloy barrels. Only composite barrel bats certified and marked BBCOR .50 are allowed. Does this bat meet the requirements? Also, if you can let me know, what others will meet this criteria? Thanks ganbaliga
This bat does meet those requirements. The Easton S3 is an all alloy bat and BBCOR certified. All BBCOR bats will be -3 Adult bats and either be all composite, all alloy or half and half. Please give us a call at 866-321-2287 and we can help show you more options.
Kris
Will this bat comply with the new regulations for several years or is it expected to change again soon? Jake
The Easton S3 BBCOR bat is BBCOR certified and will be legal this year and to the best of our knowledge for at least a few more years to come. As of date, we haven't heard of any major rule changes at the NCAA and high school level.
Tyler
Is this bat good for a contact, line drive hitter? rezsty
Yes. The Easton S3 BBCOR bat has a light swing weight making it a good choice for contact hitters, but also provides the stiffness and one-piece construction making it an option for power hitters as well.
Tyler
I'm 15 and I'm 5'1" and 98 pounds and in high school. What is the best weight and length I should use? I was thinking 31ich 28oz or 32inch 29oz. but I'm not even close to done growing yet, so I don't want to spend money and then out grow the bat, so I was going more toward 32" 29oz. Rezsty
Based on your height and weight, the recommended size for you is about 29 inches. If you are worried about outgrowing the bat, I would probably go with a 30 or 31 inch bat. A 32 inch might be too big for you. If you need any further help in trying to select the right size for yourself, feel free to use our bat coach feature located at the top of the webpage or give us a call at 1-866-321-2287!
Jennifer
What is the difference between this and the Surge? jeff
The Surge is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The Easton S3 is a one-piece bat that is all alloy. The Easton Surge is an older model and the Easton S Series and XL series are the new models that Easton has to offer.
Tyler
My son is 14 and is 5' 6" and about 105-110 lbs. Great hand speed and mainly a line drive hitter. What size bat would you recommend and is the Easton S3 a good choice? nicky
We recommend a 30" to a 31" bat based on his height and weight. The Easton S3 BBCOR is one of our hottest selling BBCOR bats that will provide high performance and durability.

Kris
Is this S3 or the XL3 bat all aluminum or is it half and half? dman
The Easton S3 and the Easton XL3 are one-piece aluminum constructions. The half and half bat manufactured by Easton this year is the S2 or XL2. The S1 and the XL1 are two-piece fully composite designs.
Shelbe
Will the pop and feel be similar to the XL3? I have only swung the XL3 and I like its feel... I just want a more balanced bat. SvRaiders11
The Easton S3 BBCOR BB11S3 is a more balanced bat than the Easton XL3. The S3 has great pop, large sweet spot, and has been a very popular bat.
Kris

Okay, I'm looking to buy a 32" -3 BBCOR and I like the easton s3 a lot, but as I've been reading, there really isn't a big difference between the S3 and the BG2 Rival BBCOR. I would like to know the main differences and which is better. The Hunter
The Easton S3 BBCOR took the place of the discontinued Easton Rival and there is not a big difference design wise.
Derek H.
I'm a small player 5'6 105 pounds and I'm a contact hitter. What do you recommend? Baseball15
The BB11S3 Easton is a very good balanced bat and be a great choice for a player of your size. This bat has great pop and a large sweet spot as well.
Kris
I'm 5'6 1/2 and about 125 lbs. Which bat of the Easton bats would fit me best(include length)? redsfan
We suggest a 31" 28 oz bat. If you are a power hitter the Easton S3 BBCOR would be the best choice. The Easton S1 and S2 will provide the most flex.
Kara
I was considerng buying an Easton Surge but the lowest length I could find was 31". I'm 5'4" and about 117 lbs and I was looking at this and it comes in 29". But I have a 31" Rival, what should I do? SEAHAWK$WAGG
The Easton Surge has been discontinued so we won't be receiving any more in the 29" length. You should take a look at the Easton S2, it is the replacement of the Surge.
Ryan
Is the handle stiff or is it more flexible? Will
The Easton S3 BBCOR is a one-piece bat so the handle will be stiff.
Kara
My 13 year old son is shopping for a bat for Babe Ruth. He is about 5' tall and weighs about 100 and is a lead off hitter and hits line drives. Is this Easton S3 BBCOR bat right for him and would you recommend a 32/29? Thanks! CZboys
Based on your son's height and weight, the recommended size for him is about a 29"-30" bat. The Easton S3 is legal for Babe Ruth play and would be a great bat for your son!
Jennifer
which has a more balanced swing the s3 easton or the marucci team bat? sarge
Both the Easton S3 and the Marucci team bat are balanced swing weights.
Ryan
what bat is good for my 12 year old son that is 5 8 and 125 pounds, the s3 or the xl3? he bats 3,4,or 5 in the lineup ctbjet27
It sounds like the XL3 would be more suitable for your son. Seems like they are placing him in the power hitter slots in the lineup as well, so he would gain more power with the XL3. Here is the link to view more features of the Easton XL3. http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-xl3-bbcor--bb11x3-adult/14434/
Derek
Is the Easton S3 bat top heavy at all? Sean
The Easton S3 is not an end loaded bat. It has a pretty balanced feel to it.
Jennifer
My son is 14, 5'2", 100 pounds. Not a big kid, so he needs a little help in pop and getting around on the bat. I'm looking at the Surge XXL and S3, any suggestions which might be better? Thanks. Mish
If your son needs bat speed, the Easton S3 BBCOR would be the better choice. It is more balanced than the Easton Surge and has great pop.
Kara
MY SON IS 13,5'6" AND 120LBS CAN HE USE THE EASTON S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 WHAT LENGHT WHAT WEIGHT SHOULD HE BE USING THANK YOU ! ERICH

My son had great success with the Easton Omen last year. Which Easton BBCOR bat is the most similar to last year's Omen? I'm looking in the $199 price range. mj
Well, the Easton S1 would be most comparable as it was made to replace the Omen. If you're looking around $199, then the S3 would be my top choice.
Tyler
My son will be trying out for 7th grade and they have to use -3 BBCOR. He is 11 and about 5' 90 pounds. What size bat shoud he use? He is only in 6th but they let them try out for 7th. salts
Based on your son's height and weight, I would recommend going with a 29 inch bat. If you need more assistance in trying to find the right size of bat for your son, feel free to use our bat coach feature located on our website.

My son is 12 years old, 5 ft./105lb and currently using the Easton S1: YB11S1 Youth bat for his travel team. He will be 13 in August and playing fall ball which means he must use a BBCOR bat. Would you recommend this bat and what size bat? Yogi
The Easton S3 BBCOR is a very balanced bat, perfect for a player making the transition to BBCOR bats. Based on his height and weight we recommend a 29" 26 oz..
Kara
My son is 15 years old and about 6'2 and weighs 160. What bat would you recommend for him? I like the Easton bats but I am trying to figure out what will be best for him. Kelly
The Easton S3 BBCOR would be a great choice. The S3 has a lot of pop and great durability. Our Bat Coach program suggests a 33 in. 30 oz. bat.
Nick
What is a better bat this or the Exogrid 2? The Hitter
Both the Easton S3 and the Louisville Slugger TPX EXOGRID2 are high quality bats. They are going to be very comparable with their pop and durability. The S3 is going to be a little more balanced than the EXOGRID2.
Nick K
What would be better for someone who is just getting their first BBCOR, a Stealth or an S3? slugger
For someone who is getting their first BBCOR, I would suggest the Easton S3. The S3 has a lot of pop and is a very balanced bat.
Nick K.
My son is about to turn 9, he will be playing in coach pitch tournaments over the summer and then moving to kid pitch in the fall. Would you recommend the Easton XL3 Jr or the Easton XL3 alloy? BP3
The Easton XL3 Junior Big Barrel is designed for coach pitch only. We recommend the Easton S3: SL11S310. The Easton XL3 will be end loaded, better for a power hitter. We do not recommend the Easton S3 BBCOR as it is an adult bat.
Kara
What is a better BBCOR bat the Demarini Voodoo or the Easton S3? 2K3WL4U
Both are good bats. The DeMarini Voodoo is a two piece bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel, whereas the Easton S3 is a one piece alloy. Depending on what kind of a hitter you are the Easton will be a more balanced bat.
Damon
What is the difference between the easton s1 bbcor and the easton s3 bbbcor? slugger
The Easton S1 BBCOR, BB11S1 is a two piece a full composite design. The Easton S3 BBCOR, BB11S3 is a one piece with a full aluminum construction.
Shelbe

The Easton S3 and the Rawlings 5150 VELO are both great one-piece aluminum bats designed for increased bat speed. The Easton S3 uses THT100 Aluminum and the Rawlings 5150 VELO uses 5150 Aluminum. Here is a link to further compare the two bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
Im 5"6 120lbs i bat 2nd or 5th in the lineup im and contact and power hitter im playing middle school this year and we have to swing -3 what bat and size would be best for me and xl1 xl2 xl3 s1 s2 or and s3 Cardinals37
I would recommend a 31" bat for a hitter of your height and weight. If you are more of a power hitter, I would recommend one of the XL series because they are endloaded. If you tend to hit more line drives, the S series would be a better fit because they have a balanced swing weight.
Nick D
My son is 5'7" and about 125 pounds. He bats 1st or 2 in the lineup, and has good bat speed. I'm wondering if i should get him the S3 or XL3? Seabass01
If your son has above average bat speed and above average strength, the XL3 would be the best option for him. If he has average or below average strength and swing speed, I would recommend the S3 for it's lighter swing weight.
Tyler
I'm going into 7th grade and I am able to play school ball now and it requires BBCOR. Would you recommend this bat for me? jdog
If you are a contact/line drive hitter the and prefer a one-piece alloy the Easton S3 is very balanced and would be a great bat for you.
Damon
Is this the most even weight out of all of the S series jdog
The Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 will have the same balanced swing weight that the S1 and S2 have. The major difference is that the S3 is one-piece alloy bat.
Nick D
I want a BBCOR bat for 8th grade and I hit a lot of gap shots and hard grounders with my TPX Exogrid2, but I want one of the Easton XL's or Easton S series bats for 8th grade. What bat would be good for line drives but still goes a long way when you get a hold of one? jefron
If you are a line drive hitter the Easton S series is the more balanced bat. The Easton XL series is more end loaded for a power hitter, so I would go with one of the Easton S series models.
Damon
My son is going into the 7th grade. He is a contact hitter and can put the ball to the fence on good hits. He is 5'3" and approx 85 pounds. Moving up from 70 to 90 foot bases is a big jump. he currently hits the Easton Omen. What bat do you think would be best for him? cameron
If your son has had success using the Easton Omen, I would recommend looking at the Easton S1. This is the bat that has replaced the Omen and is very similar to that bat.
Jennifer
I'm a power hitter and in my league I have to have a -3 BBCOR Bat. Which Easton Bat would be best? Cam
One-piece bats like the Easton S3 BBCOR are best for a power hitter.
Kara
I am a high school baseball player and I need a bat. I am a decently sized kid but I am not that strong but I am expecting to grow soon. Would you recomend the S3 or the XL3? Alex
The Easton S3 BBCOR is more balanced, better for a player who needs quicker bat speed. The Easton XL3 BBCOR will be slightly end loaded, better suited for a player with power.
Kara
Is his bat the most balanced BBCOR on the market? If not, which bat is the most balanced? Mr. Doubles
The Easton S3 is one of the most balanced BBCOR bats.
Kara
Is the handle on the S3 suppose to feel like something is loose inside the bat? If you turn it upside down, feels like somethin is moving near the handle. bball
No, most likely a piece of the adhesive that holds the bat together has come loose. If you contact Easton with this problem they will help you with getting a warranty replacement.
Zach
I used the rival last year and hit for a lot of power with it. Would the S3 be a good fit for me? nickel
Yes the Easton S3 is Easton's new bat that replaced the Rival and would be a great option for you.
Tom
I am going into the babe ruth league next year and need a new bat... I am a bigger kid on the team and am wondering if the XL3 or the S3 would be a better fit? mjman28
If you have well above average strength and swing speed, the XL3 would be recommended. If you have average to just slightly above average strength and swing speed, the S3 would be recommended.
Tyler
I'm 5'5" 130 pounds. What size should I get? p
Based on your height and weight, a 31"-32" bat is recommended.
Nick K.
I'm rather small, I'm 13 5'1 100 pounds, but I need a bbcor bat for the league I'm going to. What size bat should I use? luke
Based on your height and weight, a 29" Adult BBCOR model would be recommended.
Tyler
Is the Easton S1 or S3 better for a smaller line drive hitter? willes
Both the Easton S1 and S3 are good balanced bats for a contact hitter. The S1 will have more flex because it is a two-piece bat which will help with bat speed.
Damon
I'm 5'4 125 pounds. I'm mostly a contact hitter. Which bat it better for me the S3, Vexxum, or Surge? samson2llive
Two-piece bats like the Easton Surge and DeMarini Vexxum are best suited for a contact hitter.

I am 5'1 and 95 pounds. What size should I get? jj
Based on your height and weight, I would suggest a 29" 26 oz. bat.
Nick
Which bat is better the Easton S3 or the Easton Surge? jj
Both the Easton S3 and the Easton Surge use THT100 aluminum which gives them great pop. The S3 is a one-piece aluminum bat and the Surge is a two-piece with a composite handle and aluminum barrel. Here is a link to further compare the two bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
is the s3 the newer version of the rival? dg
Yes. The Easton S3 was made to replace the Rival.
Tyler
How do I break this bat in because it has no pop and I have been in the cage for like 3 weeks and still has little to no pop ? I need help please because I'm sure its a great bat but not getting any pop out of it. djking
Alloy bats like the Easton S3 do not require a break-period. Only composite bats require a break-in period.
Kara
I have a question. I am about 5'5, weigh about 125 pounds, and wanted to know about what size bat should I get? Jonn
Based on your height and weight, a 31" model would be recommended.
Tyler
Well I am a contact hitter, what bat do you recommend I get? Spencer
The Easton S3 would be a great choice for a contact hitter. I would also recommend the S1, which is a two-piece bat that is fully composite. The S2 is another great choice, which is a two-piece bat that has a composite handle and alloy barrel.
Nick
Does the S3 come in a 30"? David
Yes. The Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult bat is made in a 30" model, but it is currently out of stock. We don't have a firm ETA as to when we will receive more, but it will be at least another 3-4 weeks.
Tyler

The Easton S3 BBCOR has a 2 5/8 inch barrel.
Kara

The Easton S3 is one of the most balanced Adult bats on the market. If you're a hitter who prefers one piece bats, the Easton S3 is a great option.
Tyler
Does the barrel crack easy? Gy
The Easton S3 BBCOR is uses top of the line alloy for great durability and performance. The Easton S3 BBCOR does come with a one year warranty through Easton if the bat is damaged.
Kara
Is this a better bat than the Demarini CF5? TD#3
The Easton S3 is a great one-piece fully aluminum bat, whereas the 2013 DeMarini CF5 will be a two-piece fully composite bat. Both will be balanced and very high performing.
Tom
Why do S1 and S2 cost so much more than this bat? sekibag
The Easton S1 is fully composite and the Easton S2 has a composite handle and aluminum barrel, whereas the Easton S3 is fully aluminum.
Tom
I am 6'1 220lbs. and a lefty dead pull hitter, I think I have enough power so whats the advantages of the S1, S2, S3, or should I use the XL series? Nick
The Easton S Series are going to be balanced, and the Easton X series are going to be end loaded, so you should stick with the X series.
Noah
I'm 5'7 135 pounds what size should I get? Paul
The suggested bat size in the Easton S3 BBCOR for you would be a 31" 28oz. bat. If you wanted to try to swing a 32" bat that could also be an option.
Brandon
My son is now forced to use a -3 bat in 7th grade and he is little. The transition from a -12 to a -3, weight wise, is a lot. I am looking at this bat 30-27. Any thoughts? Any other lighter bats that are quality? Katzy
The Easton S3 BBCOR is one of the lightest bats on the market. We recommend the 30" 27 oz.
Kara

Tyler
My 5'10" 14 year old weighs 130 lbs and doesn't have a lot of arm strength. Would the Easton S3 be a good choice for him? If so, what size? Becky
The Easton S3 would definitely be a good choice. Another good model is the Easton S1, a two-piece fully composite bat. Also, the Easton S2 is a good choice with a composite handle and alloy barrel. We would recommend a 31" model for the given height and weight.
Aubrey
I am 6'1" and 185 pounds. What size bat do you recommend? jp
I would suggest a 32" 29 oz. or 33" 30 oz. Easton S3 BBCOR.

Aubrey
My son is going into school ball(7th and 8th graders). I need a bat with a super low swing weight. I am looking at the DeMarini CF5 or the Easton S3. Which has a lower swing weight? Dad
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 will be more balanced than the 2012 model. The 2013 DeMarini CF5 and Easton S3 will be two of the most balanced bats on the market.
Tom
hey i am 105 pounds and 5'1 what size bbcor should i use and speed or XL franks42
Considering your height and weight, I would recommend the 30" S3. The XL model is for more your power hitters, but I think the S3 may be better suited for you. The S3 would transition your bat speed into power creating more distance on your hits.
Derek
Is there a difference in performance in 2 piece and 1 piece bats? Jikk
One-piece bats are typically stiffer and don't offer as much bat head "whipping" action as a two-piece bats. Two-piece bats offer more flex during the players swing and often offer less sting and vibration at contact.
Tyler
I am 5'7" and weigh 135 pounds. Should I get the S1 or the XL1? brandr43
Based on your height and weight, I would suggest a 31" bat. The Easton S3 BBCOR is a balanced model that is designed for contact hitters and the Easton XL3 BBCOR is an end loaded model designed more for power hitters.
Nick
what would you prefer a S1 or S3 for a contact hitter? which bat is more popular? Jordan
The Easton S1 is going to be better for a contact hitter because of the bats two-piece balanced design. Power hitter generally like a one-piece bat better. The Easton S1 is one of the most popular bats out there.
Noah
How does the S3 compare to the Z-1000? Hunter
The Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult bat will be a One-Piece design. It will be a very Balanced bat and will be made up of all Alloy. The Louisville Slugger TPX Z-1000 BBCOR: BB12Z Adult bat will also be a One-Piece design. This bat will be made of 100% all Composite material. Usually, on Composite barrel bats their must be a period of break-in. But this bat will NOT require one. The LS-2X Composite along with the SWING 1 inner Disc (S1 iD) Technology means there is no break-in period required. This bat will have thinner walls and also be Balanced in swing weight. Both bats will be fine selections. It just depends if you want to swing an all Alloy bat or an all Composite bat.
Brandon
What would you recommend the 2012 Easton S3, S2, S1, or 2012 XL3, XL2, XL1, or 2012 DeMarini CF5? I'm 5'6" and weigh 135lbs. I'm going to high school next season. Got baseball
The Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult bat would be a great choice. It will be One-Piece all Alloy. There will be no break-in period required. It will be very balanced and not feel barrel heavy. Also, it comes with a Full 12 Month Warranty through Easton.
Brandon
How is the durability on this bat? Is it better than the S1? Savvy
Compared to other one-piece alloy bats, the Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 has average to slightly above average durability. The Easton S1 BBCOR is known to be a durable bat that has above average durability.
Tyler
My son is currently using a Marucci 2011 Cat 5, 31" 26 oz. He wants the Easton S3. He's 14, 5'1", 105 lbs; is the 32" too big for him? John
Based on his height and weight, a 32" Easton S3 would be too large for him. For more information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
I'm 14 5'5" and 110 pounds. What kind of bat should I be swinging? (weight and length) 134427alex
Based on your size, a 30" 27 oz. Adult BBCOR bat is recommended.
Tyler
Is this bat better for contact hitters or power hitters? Alex2713
The Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 has a light swing weight for hitters with average or below average swing speed. Therefore, it would be better suited for contact hitters. If you are a power hitter, you might consider the XL series from Easton.
Derek H.
Because of the lighter swing weight will I get less power out of my swing? And does this bat have good pop? Jon2
The Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult bat is a one-piece all alloy design. It has a very balanced swing weight. This will help the player achieve more bat speed, which will help the player add power. Typically, the power hitters that can generate their own bat speed go for the XL Series. The XL Series has a slightly end loaded feel.
Brandon
My son is 15, 5'8" and weigh 190lbs - what bat size should he be using (high school freshmen)? Jeff
Our Bat Coach is a great tool to help determine proper sizing: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tyler
I am 5' 5", about 125 lbs. and normally bat leadoff with good bat speed. Which Easton bat and size would you recommend? Soup
Batting lead off with good bat speed, I would recommend a 30" 27 oz. Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult bat. With this bat being hot right out of the wrapper, it will be a perfect fit.
Doug F.
Which bat should I get: XL3 or S3 BBCOR? I am a freshman in high school, 5' 8", 135 pounds, and strong for my weight. I can generate a lot of bat speed by myself and can hit for power despite my speed and size. I just bought a 33' 30 oz XL3 (the new model) and my dad says that he thinks that it might be a little long. I have not taken it out of the wrapper so I can return it. Should I return it because even though I have good bat speed, the good pitchers in my league can reach 80 mph. I am looking for an aluminum bat because of the feel but if you think I shouldn't get an aluminum bat please say why. PatrickMcDonough
If pitchers in your league are throwing in the 80's it may be a good choice to stick with the Easton S3 because of its balanced swing weight will help you generate bat speed. It sounds like the XL3 would be a good bat for you, but it is end loaded and could cause your swing to slow down and cause you to be behind the faster pitchers. I would train for one more year with a wood bat and use the Easton S3 in games for now.
Noah
If I'm 13-years-old, what size and weight should I get? Deezy
We recommend the 32" model Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 bat for a 13-year-old player. For more sizing information, check out our Bat Coach tool: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/.
Mac
My son is in 8th grade, he is 5'10" 150 lbs and he has good power and a good swing. He used the Easton S3 BB11S3 last year. What's good this year? What is the difference between the S3 and S4? What is difference between the BB11S3 and the BB13S3? tom
The Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult bat and the 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult bat both use the same THT100 alloy. The only difference with those and the Easton S4 is that the 2013 Easton S4 BBCOR: BB13S4 Adult bat features a 2 1/2 inch barrel diameter. I would recommend staying with the bat the player had the most success with in the past.
Aubrey
In your opinion, which bat is overall a better bat in terms of pop, durability, and balance, the 2012 S4 BBCOR or the 2012 S3 BBCOR? tommy
Both the Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult bat and the Easton S4 BBCOR: BB11S4 Adult bat use the same THT100 alloy materials. The only difference is the barrel diameter. The S3 features a 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter and the S4 features a 2 1/2 inch barrel diameter.
Aubrey
How is the pop on the Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3? Does the lighter swing weight take away from the pop? Anthony
The Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult bat will have a more balanced swing weight than an end loaded bat. It will not take away from the pop or overall performance of the bat.
Brandon
What bat should I buy and, what size? I am 6'0" 150 lbs. I have average bat speed (Sophomore). Ryan
I would recommend going with the 33" 30 oz. model of the Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult.
Marcus
Is the S3 barrel or handle composite? trev
No, the Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult bat is a one-piece alloy model.
Aubrey

Kevin
I am 14 years old about 110 lbs and a freshman in high school. Which series would be better for me and which bat out of the series? I am mostly a contact hitter. Centerfielder#5
I would recommend going with a bat from the Easton S series, either the Easton S1 or Easton S2. They're both two-piece bats, which are preferred by many contact hitters. Given your size, I'd go with a 31" model.
Marcus
What's the difference between the S2 and S3? bradyd83
The Easton S2 is going to be a two-piece bat with a composite handle and an alloy barrel and the Easton S3 is a one-piece alloy bat.
Noah
Can I use a S3 bat at the batting cages? sean
Yes, you can use the Easton S3 BBCOR in the batting cages, but I would not use it for a game bat if it is a cage bat.
Noah
I am 13 5'5 and 120 lbs. I am a contact hitter. What series,length,weight,and size should I get? J Ro
Typically a two-piece bat like the Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 Adult is best suited for a contact hitter. Based on your height and weight we recommend a 30" to a 31" bat.
Kara
My 11 year old plays select ball. He is 4'8" and 78 lbs. He is small for his age. He has been a singles and doubles hitter but is now developing more power. He bats with the Easton S3, 28"-10. Would you recommend he stay with that or would a kid that size benefit from a composite bat like an Easton S1? TX
It looks like the suggested bat length for him would be a 29". The 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 Senior League, and 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League both come in a 29" 19 oz. The S1 would provide you a higher performance for a longer period of time. The S3 will not require a break-in period and be ready right out of the wrapper. Both would be great for the age and size of your player.
Brandon
My son is 13, 125 lbs and 5'7''. I have always bought him the longest bat he could handle with the biggest drop. I bought him the 2012 Voodoo, but would this be a better bat for him because it is balanced? crazymom
It depends on what type of hitter your son is. The Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult is more balanced, which is preferred by many contact hitters. The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is slightly end loaded, which is preferred by many power hitters.
Marcus
I'm 15, 5'11", 150 pounds, and get the occasional home run. Would this be a good bat for a hitter like me or should I choose something else? What weight should I get? Chase
The Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult will be great for a contact hitter who occasionally hits home runs. The balanced feel of the bat will feel light, but it also has the stiff one-piece feel that you will be able to hit for power with.
Noah
What is the difference between the S1, S2, S3 and S4, other than the price? hosh
The Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult is a one-piece fully alloy bat, as is the S4. The S1 is a two-piece fully composite and the S2 is a two-piece with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The S4 is made from a lower grade alloy than what is used in the S2 and S3.
Katie

If you have above average swing speed, the Easton XL3 would be recommended. If you have average swing speed, the Easton S3 would be recommended. There are no differences between the Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 and the 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3.
Tyler
Is it better the 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR? xman
The Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult and the 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR are the same bat with the exception of the graphics.
Kara

Brandon

How would Easton's Power Brigade Speed and XL Series compare to Rawling's line of bats? I'm trying to find the best one-piece bat I can get my hands on. Boone
The Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult is a one-piece alloy that is very balanced. The 2013 Rawlings 5150 Alloy BBCOR: BBCA2 Adult and 2013 Rawlings VELO BBCOR: BBVELO Adult are very comparable performance-wise, with the VELO being the most balanced of the three. The Easton XL3 from the Power Brigade Series is end loaded, unlike the S3 and Rawlings bats.

I am 15 and 5'5". I am a contact hitter. I need a bat that is well-balanced. Would the 2013 Easton S3 be better for me, or the 2013 Easton S1? dj
The Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult bat and the Easton S1 BBCOR Adult bat will have the same swing feel. They both will be very balanced. The S3 will be a one-piece all alloy model, while the S1 will be a two-piece fully composite bat. If you like a stiffer bat feel go with the S3.

Have you guys just recently ran out of some sizes in this bat? nk
Our web sites are real-time, so they reflect our current inventory of size options. This Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult is the 2012 model, so our inventory is low, and we have likely sold out of some sizes recently.
Mac
Does it have the same handle as the s1 Johnny
The Easton S3 BBCOR (BB11S3) does not have the same handle as the Easton S1. The Easton S3 is a one-piece fully alloy design, so it has an alloy handle. The Easton S1 features a two-piece fully composite design, so it will feature a composite handle.
Tessa L.
Does this bat need a break in period? Clody
Since the Easton S3 (BB11S3) is a one-piece alloy, we do not suggest a break-in. The Easton S3 (BB11S3) should come pretty hot out of the wrapper.
Zach
Hi. I'm a 6'5" 195 lb Senior in high school. I've always used wood. Which Easton BBCOR do you recommend? Raul
If you have used a balanced wood bat, the Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 is a good option. If you use an end loaded wood bat, the 2014 Easton XL3 BBCOR (BB14X3) is a better choice.
Kara
I recently purchased this bat. It is a good bat except for one thing. After the first use of this bat (light batting practice) I noticed that there was a crack in the handle. It split from the knob to the beginning of where the black part of the tape starts and the yellow ends (about 4 inches). I used it again today, and there was a performance decrease in the bat (more vibration, less pop/power). I was wondering if this was something normal, or it was a defect in the bat. Robert
From the way you've described the situation, I believe the crack is really just the seam between the two plastic pieces that create the taper into the knob. Under the grip tape of this Easton S3 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB11S3), there are two plastic pieces that create that flare from the handle into the knob (which spans the length of the yellow grip tape). In regards to the performance, there may be a defect in the bat. But Easton would be able to provide more insight into a possible defect in their product, and could set you up for a return under the warranty; if applicable. You can reach them directly at: (888) 259-1297.
