Description

The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its second season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, S3, and S4). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Scandium Alloy hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3, S4). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The S3 is BBCOR Certified and approved for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: AMAZING! the bat is really balanced and the bat has awesome pop. It even has that PING sound whenever you hit it. I would much recommend this bat over the XL series. Even for the big power hitters, they will crush it. Also it's awesome because it is a one-piece. The BALL JUST JUMPS OFF THE BAT!

Cons: NONE!

Pros: Balanced.

Cons: Not as good as the previous S3. I have both this one and last years S3. I can hit the ball further with the previous S3. So to save money I would go with the previous S3. I hope this helped.

Pros: Average bat.

Cons: A lot these reviews were probably written within a week of the person getting their bat when they are still stuck on that new bat feeling. But I've had this bat for 9 months and it's not as good as those top reviews say it is. It has absolutely no pop.

Easton S3 bat review. Mike L player

Pros: I bought this bat because I am a contact hitter with not a lot of power. Last year I swung a 25 ounce reflex and wanted a bigger bat this year. I bought a 32 29 and swing it as fast as the reflex despite the 4 ounce difference. This bat has good pop about what I expected from a BBCOR and should be using this bat for a few more years. I would recommend this bat for anyone who wants to swing the bat a bit faster and hit the ball a bit further

Cons: The barrel isn't very big because the weight is mostly in the handle but a good contact hitter should still be able to put the bat head on the ball

Alloy bbcor bats BeastMode 2.0 player

Pros: Ok, so i have only had this bat for about 3 weeks. But for it's the best bbcor bat in terms of feel on the market. It is so evenly balanced unlike my 5150, and xl3. I am an incoming freshman not to strong but not weak and i needed to adjust to -3, in my first 5 games I was 7-11 and all of the hits were solid. This bat came broken in and is my by far prefered bat over the xl3 and rawlings 5150. Again, I have only had this bat forr about 3 weeks so i cant really rate the durability but i personally feel like it will be very durable. The vibration is solid as well you can feel it but you feel it a lot less than you would expect to feel a one piece bat.

Cons: This bat doesn't have amazing pop but, since it's so balanced you can make your own pop by how fast you can swing it. The rawlings 5150 and the xl3 have more pop than it but they will also take longer to get used to the top heavy swing. Other than that, there are no problems with this bat.

good bat bambino28 player

Pros: i really liked this bat right ofut of the wrapper. it has AMAZING pop and it obviously has a low swing weight. it feels like you are swinging a feather.

Cons: the durability of this bat was not amazing. although id been using this bat for 2 years and many teammates also used it, one day when i was taking bp, i hit the ball in a way that shattered the endcap of the bat. that was probably just because it was used so much. overall, i would buy this bat especially for about $100.

Good Pop but has cap issues IndyDad parent

Pros: My 13 year old son liked the feel and balance of the bat. He thought it had pretty good pop for a BBCOR, and being all alloy.

Cons: We have owned 2 of these bats. The end cap cracked on the first bat after about 1 month of use. We received a replacement bat from Just Bats (no hassle) but after about 4 months of use, the end cap cracked on this one too.

Underated Excellent Bat Coach coach

Pros: Using the -3 BBCOR. This Bat has been used for two years 13U (2013 & 14U 2014 travel), and Still no Dents, and still has pop. More than one kid uses this bat during the season. This bat is well balanced, allowing for the batter to get it through the zone faster. I will tell you this bat sends the ball as further and faster than any other bat I've seen on our team and others. I've seen kids use CF6, Easton Mako's , 5150's. Kids say this bat feels good in the hands. Not sure why this bat gets low scores. I've heard of No complaints about any vibrations either.

Cons: The team will want to use it.

What's the difference between the S3 and the S1 BBCOR bat? I was getting the S1 for my son but he needs at 30 inch that isn't available in the S1. The S1 was recommended, so what am I loosing if I get the S3? Confused Mom :)
The S1 is a two-piece full composite bat. The S3 is a one-piece full alloy bat. It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate.
Tyler
Which bat has a lighter swing weight? The 2013 Easton S3 or the 2013 Rawlings Velo? Which one has a bigger sweet spot? Joe
The 2013 Rawlings 5150 Velo will be slightly more balanced than the 2013 Easton S3 and the sweet spots on both bats are going to be almost identical.
Noah
What is the difference between the Easton BBCOR S3 BB13S3 and the Easton BBCOR S3 BB11S3? tom
The 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 is just the newer model. Easton did not make any changes to the bat except of the paint color.
Kara
Is this bat high school approved? jonas
Yes. The 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 is BBCOR certified and legal for High School play.
Tyler
Why does this model cost $199.99 and the Easton S1 costs $399.99? jj
The 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR is a one-piece alloy bat. The 2013 Easton S1 BBCOR is a two-piece fully composite bat. Composite materials are more advanced and more expensive than Alloy.
Chad M.
The 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR is a one-piece alloy bat. The 2013 Easton S1 BBCOR is a two-piece fully composite bat. Composite materials are more advanced and more expensive than Alloy.
Chad M.
Is it legal for college? xman
Yes. The 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 is BBCOR certified and legal at all collegiate levels.
Tyler
Which bat is more balanced, the Easton S3 or a Worth Copperhead BBCOR? Joshua
The 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult is slightly more balanced than the 2013 Worth Copperhead BBCOR
Kara
Which bat the S3 or S4 would be better for a 13 yr old 5'4" tall and weighs 80 lbs? This will be his first big barrel bat. Thanks John
Both the 2013 Easton S3 and 2013 Easton S4 BBCOR bats are well balanced with light swing weights. However, because the S4 has a smaller barrel at 2 1/2", it will have an even lighter swing weight than the S3. So, if he has well below average strength and swing speed, the S4 is recommended. If he has average strength and swing speed, the S3 is recommended.
Tyler
How long of a warranty do they give you on the bat? cool
The 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 comes with a full 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty.
Mac
What size is recommended for a 13 year old who weighs 125 lbs.? Jack
I'd recommend at 32" 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult bat.
Kevin
If the bat breaks and you use your warranty, could you get a more expensive bat? cool
The 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult comes with a Full 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty. If it were to break, it must be returned to Easton, who would replace it with the same, or most comparable, model.
Katie
Would the most comparable bat be an Easton S1? cool
The 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 will be balanced very similarly to the S1. However, the S3 is composed of the THT100 Scandium Alloy while the S1 is composite.
Mac
How much would I have to pay for an S1 or XL1 if the S3 were to break? obama
If the 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult bat were to break down the line and you went through Easton to get your replacement. I'm sure they would just make you pay the difference of the S3 to the S1 or XL1.
Brandon
Is the 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult better than the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult? Alexlm19
These are two completely different bats. The 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult is a balanced one-piece alloy bat. The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult is a two-piece bat that has a composite handle and alloy barrel that is going to feel slightly end loaded.
Marcus
Is there a big difference between the BB11S3 and the BB13S3? Is the BB11S3 a legal high school bat? Thank you. Jim
There is no difference between the 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult bat and the Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult bat. They are both BBCOR certified, and legal for high school play.
Aubrey
Do you know when Easton is coming out with the 2014 Power Brigade? Logan
We do not have an exact ETA on the release of a 2014 line of Power Brigade bats. The 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult bat and the other 2013 models were released about October of last year.
Mac
I am a 5' 4", 95 pounds, and 13 years old. What would the best bat and length of bat for me? J
The 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult would be a great choice to go with in the 31" length.
Noah
Which bat is better for a kid who wants more power through bat speed, the Easton S3 or the DeMarini Vexxum? FOX
The Easton S3 is probably going to be the better bat to go with for yourself. It is going to be a little more balanced, but being a one-piece bat it will offer a stiffer feel for more power.
Noah
I am 5' 4" and weigh about 115 lbs. I am a full on quick, contact hitter. Which bat out of Easton will be best for me at the BBCOR stage? santi
The Easton S1, S2, and S3 are Easton's balanced models. These are the models you would want if you are a contact hitter.
Damon
I'm 14 and 5'1" 110 lbs. What would be the right size bat for me to purchase? Vinsanity
The size that would be recommended for you would be a 30" 27 oz. 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult.
Brandon
Why is the S3 alot cheaper than the rest of the Speed Series? baserunning king
The 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult is a one-piece alloy bat. It is less expensive to manufacture than a two-piece bat like the Easton S1 or Easton S2. Fully composite bats are the most expensive to manufacture. However, the 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult uses top of the line alloy and has great pop?
Kara
I'm a little bit over 125 pounds and about 5'6 and I'm wondering what size I should get? I want a 33'' just for the bigger sweet spot. Would this be fine? jj
Based on your height and weight the largest size we recommend is a 32".
Kara
I am 5' 6", and I weigh about 115 pounds. What size bat do I need? y
We would recommend a 30" model of the 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult. For additional bat sizing information, feel free to check out our Bat Coach tool: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Mac
My son is 5' 9", 215 lbs, and 15 years old. Should I use an S3 or what model bat do you recommend? Coach Gator
The 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult is going to be best for a contact hitter, but if you are more of a power hitter the Easton XL3 would be a better bat for you.
Noah
Which bat do you recommend the XL3 or the S3 Easton bats? I like the bat to be not too heavy but have a pretty big barrel. The bigger the barrel the better, but I heard the XL-Series bats are a bit more heavier and unbalanced. What should I do? Also, I am 5'6" and a half, and around 155/160 lbs. What bat would you suggest I buy? peter
The 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult bat would be my choice. It will have the same barrel diameter as the XL-Series. It will feel much more balanced than the XL-Series as well. At your height and weight the 32" bat size is recommended.
Brandon
What is the difference between the 2013 Easton S3 and the 2012 Easton S2? andy
The Easton S3 is going to be a one-piece all alloy design. The Easton S2 is going to be a two-piece design that has a composite handle and an alloy barrel.
John
I'm turning 13 and I have to use a BBCOR bat next year. I'm 125 lbs and 5 feet 4 inches. I'm not sure if this a good bat for me? saliar

Both bats are very comparable in design and are balanced options. The Comp-Lite end cap makes the VELO slightly more balanced. But if you've used both before, your own experience will be a better determining factor in the selection. Based on your height and weight, the 32" model of either is the recommendation.

I am a relatively strong hitter, but sometimes i have trouble getting my hands through the zone quickly. I am 6'0 and I weigh 190 lbs. Is this a good bat for me, and what size should I get? kfree
The Easton S3 would be a very good bat for someone who is wanting to achieve their maximum bat speed. As part of Easton's Power Brigade Speed Series, this bat is designed with bat speed in mind, coming with a very balanced swing weight. For someone of your height and weight, we would recommend a 33"/30 oz bat, although you could use a 34" or 32" bat as well, if those are more comfortable for you to swing.
Kyle J.
What is better: a two-piece or a one-piece bat? Bradattude
The Easton S3 BBCOR (BB13S3) Adult is a one-piece all alloy design. Typically, one-piece designs have a stiffer feel and are better for power hitters. Two-piece designs are typically better for contact hitters. Two-piece bats and one-piece bats both perform at high levels though.
Jason
I'm a contact hitter which is best for me, a Easton Reflex or a S3? And what is the pop difference? riley 46
I would recommend the Easton S3 (BB13S3) for you because it has a low M.O.I. for a faster swing speed. The Easton S3 (BB13S3) will have some more pop compared to the Easton Reflex (BB13RX).
Zach

Based on your height and weight, we would suggest the 33 inch length of the Easton S3 BBCOR (BB13S3) Adult bat.

The main difference between the Easton S3 (BB13S3) and the Easton S4 is the barrel size. The Easton S3 will have a 2 5/8" barrel and the Easton S4 will have a smaller 2 1/2" barrel.
Kelby

Zach
I'm an 8th grader and I am about 5 foot 10 and weigh 175 pounds. I usually hit in the four spot. I hit a lot of deep line drives but not too many home runs. Is this the Easton bat you recommend or should I buy something else? And should I go with the S3 or XL3? raiders5
Both the Easton S3 BBCOR (BB13S3) and the Easton XL3 BBCOR (BB11X3) would be good options. The stiff flex of both bats helps players who generate good swing speed to control the bat and to pull the ball if possible. The XL3 may be a bit better for a power hitter because it is slightly end-loaded. If you are able to swing an end-loaded bat with the same speed and form, you could possibly generate more power because the weight of the bat will be focused in the hitting zone. Either option would be a great choice.
Patrick
I am 13 and I am going in to Junior division in Little League, 14-15 age division. Is this bat legal for that? mike
Yes. The Easton S3 BBCOR (BB13S3) features BBCOR certification which is the strictest certification for these bats so it would be legal for the majority of leagues that allow a 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter.

Zach
Would the S3 have more home run potential than the S2? Due to the one-piece design. branster98
The Easton S3 BBCOR (BB13S3) will have more of a stiffer feel compared to the two-piece feel of the S2. Power hitters do typically like the stiffness of a one-piece design over the two-piece.
Brandon
Would recommend the S3 over a S1 or a XL for a 5'11 195 power hitter? and how does the Speed series compare to the XL stags22
For a power hitter I would recommend the XL series over the Speed series because power hitters do tend it prefer more of an end loaded feel which the XL series is.
