Description

Easton truly believes that every player should have the opportunity to hit for power. However, the road to power hitting is different for every player. Some players need extra bat speed to reach their full power potential, while others need more weight and a bigger barrel. That's why Easton is changing the game this season and taking an approach to bats that no other manufacturer has ever tried before. Introducing the POWER Brigade; Two series, one distinct result. Whether you prefer the fast swinging Speed Series or the heavier extended barrel XL Series, POWER will be your outcome. Forget flashy designs and gimmicky names, these bats produce RESULTS. The Speed Series (S1, S2, S3) features the lowest Moment of Inertia (M.O.I.) on the market to create light swing weights and generate more power. On the other side of the spectrum, the XL Series (XL1, XL2, XL3) features extra long barrels designed to give players expanded hitting zones and more mass in the barrel, generating more power in every swing. Easton really does strive to fulfill the preferences of any type of player as both series come in two-piece IMX Composite designs (S1 and XL1), two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Aluminum hybrid designs (S2 and XL2), and one-piece THT100 Aluminum designs (S3 and XL3). As for the materials, Easton's patented IMX Composite has proven to be one of the highest performing materials in the game year after year, while THT100 Aluminum provides superior dent and crack resistance. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology and you have a new line of bats that is second to none. Easton: We Believe In Power! This bat features the USSSA 1.15 stamp and is approved for play in and beyond. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: 7 y/o Son loves the look. Hard to find a 27" 17. Glad we found it. Son had a 26" 15 easton stealth last year. He likes the ping sound when he connects much better than the composit of the stealth. Had it about 2 weeks. We hit a 6 gallon bucket a balls every night getting ready for the spring season and no dents yet. Hasnt had the chance to use it in a game yet.

Cons: White scuff marks from the balls mess up the cool black and yellow look; but thats baseball baby!

Pros: Bought this for my 10 yr old son 1 month ago. He has been using it at practice 3 times/week. He has never been a "power hitter" more up the middle type of hitter. My son, his coach and I have noticed the ball traveling a lot further when he hits. At practice the other day (cool, damp day) he actually hit the fence consistently. His hits up the middle also seem to have more power/speed. 2 months ago he was using a Worth and not hitting as hard, so I don't think its a "kid is older" issue. No dents. Good grip. I never was one to believe that a bat could "improve" a hitter but in my sons case it has.

Cons: My concern is with the end cap. Another coache's kid was using the same type of bat and after two practices the end cap popped off. His dad mentioned that he saw another end cap pop off from another bat. I don't know if it was a bad batch (These two coaches odered at the same time from another supplier)or is there an issue with the glue. Keeping my fingers crossed it was just a bad batch.

Pros: My son's team swings nothing but Easton S Series this season. Last weekend, due to the cold weather (high 40s to low 50s), everyone hit S3s. In 4 games, our team hit 7 home runs. Before last weekend, our team's previous high was 2 home runs in a weekend. I didn't see any other teams hitting the S Series bats exclusively-- and, interestingly enough, no other teams had near the home run output that our team had. Coincidence?

Cons: Hope our rivals don't figure out our secret.

Pros: Like many of the Easton bats it's easy to swing. Has good pop. AND unlike the Rival has proven to quite durable. No dents thus far. Nice bat.

Pros: My son loves the look of the bat! It is balanced well and easy to swing.

Cons: He has played one 8 year old coach pitch tournament and the bat is already dented and stings his hands really bad. He doesn't want to use the bat anymore because of the sting. I had several of the boys try the bat at practice and they all threw it down and said it stung. I have sent the bat back and waiting to see how the new one does. Was told I couldn't sent it back again that the next bat was not warranted. Sure is early in the season for a bat that is this expensive to be broke and then no warranty? I would not purchase this bat again.

Pros: Great bat when it wasnt dented, comparable to the old Rival

Cons: Bat first dented after 1 1/2 months. Tried to RMA online w/ Easton like they suggest and was ignored. Called to get RMA after a week of waiting only to be told that the bat is on backorder till the end of June (currently 3/15/2012). Was told I could get the 2 5/8" but it was still on backorder till end of April. Wouldnt upgrade or give me a refund, was told I just had to wait. Pretty unacceptable in my opinion. This is my sons 5th Easton (2 rivals, stealth, and 2 1/4" S1) and will be his last.

Pros: Got the 29'/19 for my 8 yr old son. 1st season using Big Barrel. He's hitting "Lasers" with this bat. I'm a big Easton fan, used the brand in college and have always loved product. Pros: Great pop right out of the box. My 11yr old 115lb kid DID well with it. We picked this bat as it was the closest thing to a 5150 (that he loved). New team can only swing Easton bats.

Cons: End cap keeps coming out about 1/8-1/4 of an inch after making good contact. Had an umpire tell us he has seen that with many Easton bats this year. I don't mind paying good money for a product as long as I get a good product. I also can't send it back and get another (we play every weekend). It is now his "practice" bat. Hey Easton you have a quality control problem !

Pros: I keep reading reviews whinning about denting. These bats are made for optimal performance, they are going to dent. If they didn't, then the ball would not jump off the barrel like it does. Easton does an excellent job honoring their warranty and replacing bats in an expeditious manner. If you want a bat that doesn't dent, then buy a more durable BUT lower performance bat, but don't expect the same pop. Either way, quit whinning, you can't have superior performance and complete durability, they don't coexist. This bat by far does the best job of combining those aspects.

Cons: Looks like a bumble bee.

Pros: Right size; good looking bat; worked well until it became dented from normal use (10-year-old batter; 45-55 mph pitches)

Cons: Dented on second day of use after minimal amount of batting practice and a few at-bats in an 11U baseball game. Will be sending it to Easton as soon as I can get return authorization.

Pros: If you get a hold of a ball with this bat, it goes a mile. Last year I hit more triples than I did doubles just by the fact that the ball travels farther than hits with other bats. Also very good for small ball.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL11S310B? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

How does this bat compare to Rival 28 /18 big barrel 2011 when will 2012 Rival come out with USSSA stamp? george t
The S3 is replacing the Rival. There will not be a 2012 Rival. The 2011 Rival does have the USSSA stamp.
Kara
What does the "B" stand for in the model # (SL11S310B) and what is the difference in this bat and the bats without the B? MO Coach
The model number denotes that it is a bigger barrel size, the 2 3/4" barrel, the other is a 2 5/8" barrel.
Linda
What is the difference between this bat and the new Easton XL3? They seem to be very similar. vizslahunter
The S3 is going to have a shorter barrel and more of a balanced feel, the XL3 has a slightly longer barrel but there is going to be more weight at the barrel of the bat.
Sean
From the reviews the 2 3/4" Rival dented easily. Will this bat have the same problems? Chili
This bat will not dent as easily as the Rival did. This bat is more durable but still has the great pop.
Sean
If the S3/XL3 are replacing the Rival and the S1/XL1 are replacing Omen, then what is the S2/XL2 replacing? Dodgerblue
The S2 and XL2 are replacing the Surge of last year.
Kris
How does this Easton compare with the Miken RZR? dcoach
They both are one piece all alloys. Both are 2 3/4" barrels, both have huge sweet spots. The biggest difference is the S3 has lower M.O.I. for faster bat speed, and the connexion for vibration reduction. The S2 has a bit more of the technology.
Linda
I may get this bat, but I'm kind of nervous because I got the Marucci Cat 5 squared and I didnt like the performance of the 1 piece all alloy design. Would this bat be better, and if not how would it compare? Dbat
If you don't like a one piece alloy like the Cat 5, you might look into the Easton S2: SL11S210. The SL11S210 has a little less vibration due to the two piece design.
Linda
Do you recommend the S1, S2, or S3 Easton for a small frame 65 pound youth player playing 10u kid pitch? LT
I would lean toward the S1. The S1 has a lighter feel, more pop, and a bigger sweet spot then the S2 or S3.
Linda
What would you recommend for a 9U 70lb kid, S1,S2 or S3? David
Picking between the three options will depend on the kind of batter he is, which one will be best for him. The S1 is an all composite bat which will have a lighter feel than the S2 or S3. You may also want to check out the JBB11S1.
Linda
Just bought this bat and it's dented. Is the 2 5/8" barrel more durable? iceray
They are going to use THT100 alloy, so one is not going to be more durable than the other. They are covered under a one year manufacturer's warranty. Here is Easton's number 1-888-259-1297.
Bill
My son is a contact hitter he has the black prodigy now. it has been a great bat its about wore out. what would you suggest,go back to the worth or this one blues coach
Both bats are great options and are going to be very similar in construction. If he is comfortable with the Worth then I wouldn't recommend changing it.
Gil
My 9U (75 lbs) has good bat speed, but tends to lag the bat head a little bit. He does better with a well balanced bat vs. an end loaded or barrel heavy bat. So which is the best option S1, S2, S3. Sounds like the new XL's wouldn't be the best option. 1811nTX
If you want a more blanced feel. The "S" series would definitely be the way to go.
Linda
If the majority of the Senior League bats now have the 1.15 BPF rating, is there really that much difference in performance? Leroy
You will still be able to see the differences between the top quality composite and alloy bats compared to the lower end bats.
Gary
Is there a 2 5/8 version that is alloy? aj
Yes. The model number is SL11S310.
Kara
Why do you say the S3 or the XL3 is better suited for power hitters and not contact hitters? What is the difference in the SL3 and XL3? dirtbag
Generally, power hitters prefer one piece bats, and the S1 and S2 are two piece. The XL3 has an extended barrel and a more end loaded feel than the S3.
Linda
In a lot of questions, you respond that power hitters tend to prefer one piece bats and that contact hitters prefer the double wall style-- what's the reasoning? jdrb
Yes, it is true. The reasoning is with a one piece there is no flex when the ball makes contact, so they get more of their power hitting abilities behind the hit. With the 2 piece bats (not all but most) are designed to have a bit of flex, so when the ball hits the bat, the bat bends giving the batter an extra push.
Linda
My son is an 11u player and has hit the TPX EXO SL12EX2. The TPX has held up extremely well. My son likes the feel of this bat in the store but how does it compare? pc
The EXO is made differently. It is a one piece alloy with the composite inserts. The S3 is an all alloy bat and will have a little more balanced feel.
Linda
What would you recommend for a 105lb 5/3" 12 year old with power and good bat speed XL or S series? nighthawk13
The Speed series will give you a faster swing speed as the XL series has a more end loaded feel and may slow your speed down. Both bats will have very good pop and a nice size sweet spot. Choosing between the two is based more on what he can swing comfortably.
Kris
Is this bat usable for 9-10U USSSA travel or is it for older kids? Stan
This bat is allowed in the USSSA youth baseball, it has the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp on it.
Linda
Is this bat similar to the 2 3/4 Rival? BatKing99
The S3 replaced the Rival. The S3 has a slightly bigger sweet spot than the Rival.
K.B.
Which bat has the lower MOI (or is more balanced v. end-loaded), the S1 or S3? Thanks needinfo
All of the bats in the Speed Series will have similar MOIs. If you want a more end-loaded bat, look at the XL Series.
TJ
Please let me know which 2012 kid pitch Easton model bat is a the closest match to the 2011 Easton coach pitch V12? baseball coach
The SL11S310B is the closest to the V12. The SL11S310B is a 2 3/4" all alloy bat similar to the V12.
Linda
What advantages/disadvantages does a 2 3/4 bat have over a 2 5/8 bat? The 2 3/4 is allowed in my sons league as long as it is a -10. Looking strongly at the S3 B. Capp35
If your son can use a 2 3/4" barrel then get that size. The probelm with a bigger barrel is that some leagues do not allow that size. The bigger barrel will give him more contact with the ball and better pop.
Kris
Is this bat BPF 1.15 certified? riot
Yes this bat features the USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp on the bat.
John
Is there any difference between this bat in pop, bat speed or barrell surface area/length and the 2 5/8 dia S3? Which one would you recommend for a 10 yr old. He has been using another brand 2 3/4 for past yr. and thought the 2 5/8 S3 might be quicker to swing. Joseph
The difference is the SL11S310B will have a bigger barrel which will give you more surface area to make contact with the ball. Both bats are evenly balanced and have good pop.
Kris
Can the SL11S310B be used in cold temperatures? Brent
Yes, you can use this bat in cold temperatures. This bat is an all alloy bat and does not have any weather restrictions.
Sean
I'm more of a contact hitter, is this bat or the Surge better for me? citadel15
Does your league allow the 2 3/4" barrel? If not, the SL11S310 Senior League (without the B behind it) is the 2 5/8" barrel that is most commonly used. And yes, either would be perfect for a contact hitter.
Linda
My son has been using an Easton Stealth Composite 28/17 and is above average hitter at 7-yrs old. Would a 28/18 or 29/19 big barrel be more suitable? Tim
A 28/18 would be better suited for his age. Moving up an ounce each year is recommended from year to year.
Kara
Can I get this bat in a drop 8? jason
Easton only makes this model in a -10. Check out the SL11X28. http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-xl2--sl11x28-senior-league/14527/
Kara
I noticed that this bat comes in both 2-5/8" barrel and 2-3/4" barrel....what is the real world difference in these bats? Thanks Jeff
The only difference is the barrel size. The 2 3/4 will have a little better sweet spot.
K.B.
What do the S1, S2 and S3 compare to in last years model. My son used a surge last season and I see that is an S3. Is there a way to compare these? He is a 9u, 105lb travel player but looking for good balance. Recommend? Storm21
The Easton S1 replaced last years Omen, the S2 replaced the Surge, and the S3 replaced the Easton Rival. The Easton S2 is what you would want to be looking for.
Ryan
My son plays 11u select. He's always swung a -10 composite bat and I've been debating on giving this alloy bat a try. Any thoughts/concerns about moving from a composite to alloy? Are there any potential issues my son might have due to the material differences? Baseball Mom
Alloy barrel bats will not require a break in period unlike composite barrel bats. Composite barrel bats require 150-200 swings off the tee or soft toss to help fully break in the composite fibers. A composite barrel bat will give him the most pop with more usage.
John
There are many alloy bats out there that are very high performing. The difference between alloy and composite is that alloy is going to be at its highest performance level out of the wrapper, compostie material is going to take a break-in period and get hotter with time and use. This SL11S310B is a great choice.
Ryan
My son is a contact hitter moving out of wood bats. He's 14 and swings a 32. Should he stick with a -3 or move to -10 and two piece or one piece? dino
A -3 bat will be much heavier than a -10. If he does not have to swing a -3 yet there is no reason to get that size. Most contact hitters like a two piece feel but this will be more of a personal preference picking between one piece and two piece.
Kris
Can I get that bat with 30L 21oz? n_o1952
The SL11S310B only comes in a -10. You would want to look at the Easton XL3 (SL11X39).
John
My son is swinging the SV12 29/19 now and swinging it well, however it is not USSSA stamped. I cant decided on a series... coach of a coach
Easton will have two different series, the Speed series and the XL series. The Speed series is more designed for contact hitters and players needing to increase their bat speed. The XL series is designed for more of the power hitters and will feature a little larger sweet spot. The S1 and XL1 is the replacement for the Omen, which is going to be a two piece composite. The S2 and XL2 is going to be the replacement for the Surge, this bat would have an alloy barrel and composite handle. The S3 and XL3 is going to be a one piece all alloy and this is the model that is replacing the Rival.
John
Is it top heavy, and is it a good bat like they say? skedter
This will be weighted more towards the handle of the bat, giving a hitter more control than with a end loaded bat. This bat is awesome!
Shelbe
Be honest do you think its a good choice to by this bat or do you think there's a better option nick
The Easton S3 is going to be Easton's top of the line bat. The step up from this is going to be the S2 and the S1.
Ryan
What is the difference between THT100 and the Scandium 100? bombs away
The THT100 is going to be more durable alloy.
Ryan
What is the difference between the 3 levels of this bat? NCBearcat
The difference between the S1, S2, and S3 will be a difference in materials used in each bat. The S1 is an all composite bat, the S2 has an alloy barrel, composite handle, and the S3 is all alloy.
Kris
MY son is an 11u 65lb, contact hitter. Should he get the S1 or S3? jtslugger15
The difference is the S1 is an all composite bat and the S3 is an all alloy bat. The S1 has a slightly lighter feel then the S3 all alloy bat. Choosing between the two will be more on what he likes and feels better swinging.
Kris
Which is the better bat between the Easton S3 Sl11S310B and the TPX Omaha SL126XL? mike
Both bats are great choices. They are both going to be a one piece alloy design, be pretty balanced and perform very similarly. You really you can't go wrong with either one.
Jennifer
Is there any kind of weight difference from the 2 5/8 S3 and the 2 3/4 S3? Will both bats swing the same? sdor4
The SL11S310 and the SL11S310B will swing the same, other than the barrel size these bat are identical. For more additional information please contact us at 1-866-321-2287.
Shelbe
My son has a 29" 20oz Voodoo big barrel. It is a little heavy for him. He likes the weight of his 18oz Omen (regular barrel) but I would like to get him a 2 3/4 but I do not want a bat that is going to dent up. What should I get him - I was thinking about this in a 29"?? Calvin
The S3 is going to be one of the best 2 3/4 inch bats out there. This would be an excellent choice.
Kara
Which bat replaces the old orange Rival BV14XL (-10)? Is it S3 or XL3? banchy04
The S3 replaced the Rival. The XL3 is simply an end loaded version of the old Rival.
KB
I'm looking for a single walled bat that is not composite. Can you help me? Whitey
The Easton S3 is the right bat to look into because it is a single walled, one piece, and alloy bat.
Brad
My son has a 2010 Rival -10. Was this bat end loaded or balanced? Which would be closest the S3 or XL3? Stephen
The Rival was a balanced bat. The S3 will have similar feel to the Rival. The XL series has a slightly end loaded feel.
Kris
Can this bat be used in USSSA ball by my 11 year old son even though it's called a "Senior League" bat? batgirl
The words "Senior League" just mean bigger barrel. The Sl11S310B is approved for USSSA and is a great bat for your son.For more information on USSSA certified bats contact our customer service, 1-866-321-2287.

My son is 11yrs old and is a solid double and triple hitter. He hit well with the orange/white Rival 2010. Due to rule changes for the second straight year we have to buy a new bat. As an expert would you recommend the Easton S3, S2, Louisville Exogrid2, Black, Vertex, or Worth Prodigy? He swings a 31" 21Oz. Thanks! I would suggest that bat companies give more demo bats out to let players hit like the golf companies do!!! Thanks Baseball Dad Baseball Dad
If he hit well with the Rival, I would lean toward the S3 since it was made to replace the Rival. So much of hitting is psychological, especially for younger players and it's good to stick with what has been successful for him in the past. This is especially true for younger players. The next closest options in my opinion would be the Vertex and Worth Prodigy.
Tyler
Which is the best bat out of this series? Matt
The Easton S3 is a one piece all alloy, the Easton S2 is a two piece with a alloy barrel and composite handle, and the S1 is a two piece full composite. The S1 has more pop, lighter feel and a bigger sweet spot of the three.
Brad
My son can swing a 28in 19.5oz, will this Easton bat be to heavy if I get it 29in 19oz? david
Nope. You'll actually be moving down a half ounce and it shouldn't be too heavy for him.
Tyler
Could I use this under USSSA and BBCOR rules? jackmandoo
This does have the new USSSA stamp and is legal in that regard. Only Adult baseball bats have to be BBCOR certified and this is not an Adult baseball bat.
Tyler
Which bat S series should I get. I am a contact hitter and need a light balanced bat with great pop, large sweet spot, absorbs sting, and needs no break in period. d pain
Two piece bats like the S2, are usually better suited for contact hitters. The S3 is a one piece alloy. It is stiffer and usually preferred by power hitters.
Kara
What is the biggest difference between the S2 and the S3? Gman
The S2 is made of a two-piece hybrid design meaning it has a composite handle to decrease vibration and an alloy barrel. The S3 is a one-piece alloy design and has great pop right out of the box!
Kole
Can this bat be used in Dixie Youth Ozone baseball? Dudes
With the information that we have here, this bat will not be legal for use in the Ozone division. Bats with a barrel diameter larger than 2 3/4 are not allowed to be used in this league. Since rules can change from league to league I would suggest checking with your league official to make sure though.
Jennifer
My son is 7, 4'5", & low 50's weight. Right now he swings a 28" 18.5 oz LS TPX. Does a 30" (-10) sound like too much bat for him? Also, would an S or XL series be better? toal97
As a general rule of thumb, you want to move up an ounce or two in weight every time you purchase a new bat. A 30 inch -10 should be good for him. I would lean towards the S Series as they will be more evenly balanced.
Tyler
Even after looking on Little League site I can't determine if this bat is legal for Little League Junior level ( 13 & 14) ? John
This bat is not legal for use in the Junior Little League. This particular bat has a barrel diameter of 2 3/4 inches, which is not allowed in this league. The S3: SL11S310 has a barrel diameter of 2 5/8 and is legal for play in the Junior Little League division.
Jennifer
My son is still 5 yo (6 in Jun) but playing up in coach pitch - big for his age, tall and 60 lbs, and strong. Been using a 15 oz but at last practice tried a 17 oz big barrell and was crushing drives into the OF. Trying to decide b/t this and the XL3 (only negatives of which I have read are the dents). Which of these 2 bats would you recommend for him, assuming he could grow into and use for couple seasons? George
The main difference between the two bats is the weight distribution. The Easton S3 is a more balanced bat and the XL3 has more of an end loaded feel to it. If your son is pretty strong and has a strong swing, he could probably use the XL3 without a problem. However, if he doesn't have a strong swing I would probably suggest going with a balanced bat, like the S3.
Jennifer
Is this bat BBCOR approved? Doogie
The Easton S3 is not BBCOR approved. Only adult -3 bats will have the BBCOR certification. The S3 model that is BBCOR certified can be found here: http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-s3-bbcor--bb11s3-adult/14437/

Tyler
Easton makes S1, S2, S3 & XL1, XL2, XL3. "XL" or "S"? What goes into decision? Rasquire
The "S" and "XL" lines are part of Easton's new Power Brigade series. The S-series is a balanced bat designed for line drive and gap hitters. The XL-series is end loaded and features an extended barrel and larger sweet spot. Here is the link to the Power Brigade series and everything we offer. http://www.justbats.com/products/?s=brigade+series

My son needs a 33" - 9 bat for USSSA league play. I cannot find one on your site. He'd prefer an Easton. Is there a bat available under this criteria? Thanks. ~Ann Ann Chmelar
Unfortunately, the only bats that come in that size are Fastpitch Softball bats. We have plenty of options for a 32" -9 bat though. Those can be found here: http://www.justbats.com/products/length~32%20inch/length%20to%20weight%20ratio~-%209/baseball%20bats~youth%20big%20barrel/

Kara
Will this bat dent up? cj

My grandson has been using the Easton bat from a teammate. 30in 20 oz. Does it come in 18 or 19oz? 10 year-old. super sport
If your looking for an Easton S3 that weighs less, his only other option would be the 30" 17oz. Other than that, he would have to swing the 30" 20oz S3. Here is the link to view the youth S3. http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-s3--yb11s3-youth/14532/
Derek
Do you have a 31 inch bat? Your list goes from 30 then 32. sweetie

Is this bat available in 30 -11? Double Play
No, the Easton S3 SL11S310B comes in a 30" -10 size but not a -11 size.
Sean
I have 12 yr old. What is the difference between alloy and composite besides price comparing Easton S1 to the S3 travel ball player? John
Composite materials tend to have more pop than alloy because the composite material acts as a trampoline. The more the composite is used the farther the ball bounces. However, composite does take longer to break in. The Easton S3 has excellent pop for an alloy bat and does not require a break in period. Alloy is less expensive to manufacture and therefore, costs less. The Easton S3 is a stiffer bat, better for a player with some power.
Kara
Does this bat come in a 29 in, 17 or 18 oz? Chris
No. The Easton S3 SL11S310B is a drop 10 bat. It does not come in those sizes.
Tyler
What is better Easton XL3 or Easton S3? alex
The Easton S3 and the Easton XL3 are the same bat with the one exception. The Easton XL3 is an end loaded bat with an extended barel, better for a hitter with power.

TJ
My son is 8. He is 4'7" and 80lbs he currently swings a small barreled Easton Omen and we are needing a big barrel bat for tournaments. I need some suggestions Fochar
If he liked the Omen, I recommend the Easton S1 as it was made to replace the Omen. Based on his height and weight, a 29" model is recommended.
Tyler

The Easton S3 is a one-piece all alloy bat. It has a lot of pop and would be a great choice.

Kara

Tyler
Is this bat legal in babe ruth league for drop 3 bats? Alex
If you need to use a -3 bat, the Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League bat will not be legal. The Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult bat is the -3 model of the S3.
Tyler
Is 2 3/8 legal in little league? Jaden
The Easton S3: SL11S310B has a 2 3/4" barrel. Little League requires 2 1/4" barrel that is stamped approved for Little League play, which this model of the S3 is not. Here is a link to the version that is approved for Little League. http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-s3--yb11s3-youth/14532/
Tom

The Easton S3: SL11S310B is a 2 3/4" barrel bat, so if CYO allows 2 3/4" bats then this will be legal. If they do not then there is also an Easton S3 with a 2 5/8" barrel.

Interested in purchasing the new Easton S series. Is there problems with the end caps coming off? I have seen some of the cons in the blogs about end caps coming off. Has this been fixed? coach
There were issues with the end caps becoming defective but we have not heard too many reports of that recently. All of Easton's bats come with a full 12 month manufacturer's warranty in the event that this were to happen.

I need a bat for my son. He is 11yrs old 88lbs and 4'9 tall. He hits the ball regularly however his bat speed is not there yet. He is left handed and hits most of his balls to short and left field. The bats he has used don't seem to have pop. They feel like toys. His league does not allow composite bats. What do you suggest? bo
The Easton S3 would be a great choice for your son. It is very balanced, perfect for a player who needs some bat speed.
Kara
Is the S3 going to be legal for USSSA play in 2013? Don't want to purchase and have USSSA say can't use. Rob
The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League features the USSSA 1.15 stamp and is legal for play in 2012. We have not been made aware of any rule changes that would ban this bat in 2013.
John
What would you do to break-in this bat? Tazz
The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League bat is a one-piece alloy design. The alloy materials allows this bat to be hot right out of the wrapper and does not require a break-in period.
Doug F.
Is the Easton S3 Senior League top heavy? sam
No. The Easton S3 is a balanced bat.
Damon
What is the difference between the Easton S3: SL11S310B and the Easton S3: SL11S310? JIM
The Easton S3: SL11S310B has a 2 3/4" barrel diameter and the Easton S3: SL11S310 has a 2 5/8" barrel diameter.

Is this bat good for high school use? saul99865
No, the Easton S3: SL11S310B is a Senior League bat and not legal at the high school level. You want the S3 BBCOR: http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-s3-bbcor--bb11s3-adult/14437/. This bat will be a one-piece all alloy design. It will require no period of break-in. It will be as hot as it will ever be right out of the wrapper. This one-piece model may have a stiffer feel that power hitters tend to love.
Brandon
My son is 5'6", and 135 lbs. He is a power hitter. He is looking for a baseball bat, which bat would you recommend for him? baseballMom
I used our Bat Coach Feature on JustBats.com. I was able to find out that with his size he should be using a 32" bat. The most popular bat in his size was the Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League bat. The Marucci CAT 5, and the Marucci Black were next in line.
Brandon
Can someone tell me what the difference is between the SL11S310B vs SL13S310B? Jim

Kara
I looked this bat up and found it is not able to be used in high school, is this true? awesome??
The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League will not be legal for high school play. High school bats must be BBCOR certified and have a -3 length to weight ratio. However, the S3 does have a BBCOR version: http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-s3-bbcor--bb11s3-adult/14437/

Kara

Aubrey
Are there any major differences between the 2012 S3 and the 2013 S3? Also, is it true that metal bats are better when the temperature is below 50 degrees? Mike in Rochester
The 2012 Easton S3: SL11S310B and the 2013 S3 are the same bat. Easton did not make any changes in technology. Alloy bats would be better to use under 50 degrees.
Kara
Can you let me know the differences between the Four SL models..thanks? highenuff89
S1=Two-piece, full composite, 2 5/8" barrel. S2=Two-piece, alloy barrel/composite handle, 2 5/8" barrel.. S3=One-piece, full alloy, 2 5/8" barrel. S4=One-piece, full alloy, 2 1/2" barrel.

The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League is legal in USSSA for 2013. It can be used by an 8 year old.
Kara
Can this be used for Pony League baseball? 12-15? daniel
Yes, the Easton S3 is approved for Pony League baseball in the 12-15 year age group.
Sean
I coach a 8 yr old coach pitch team. I'm looking for two new team bats. I was wondering what I should get. The Easton SL11S310B or 2013 Easton S1JBB13S1 or 2013 Miken Rev-Ex JREV11. Out these three bats which two would recommend for my team bats? I'm looking for durability and distance. Thanks. Stumpers
The 2013 Easton S1: JBB13S1 Junior Big Barrel and the 2013 Miken REV-EX: JREV11 Junior Big Barrel are one piece composite bats that will require a slight break in period. They are both are specifically for coach pitch because of the thinner walls and they are best for younger players because of the drops. The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League is a very high performing bat that will not require a break-in period. It is a great option for players who will only play one season of coach pitch so they may use this in machine or kid pitch the following season. The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League has a very balanced feel as well.
Kara
Considering this bat for my son, he will be in machine pitch for the Spring season (Pony League). He's about 51" tall and 57 lbs. He did great with his 28"15oz last Fall season, but he needs a new bat and everyone seems to have this type of bat. Also, can he still use this bat if he advances to kid pitch? Jet
The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League is a very popular bat for young players. It features a balanced lightweight swing to increase swing speed and add power. This bat is available in a drop ten (-10) and will be slightly heavier than your previous bat, but it can be used in the kid pitch leagues also.
Robert
What's the difference between an Easton S3 with Model No. SL13S310 and another with Model Number YB13S3? Ben
The Easton S3 SL13S310 Youth Big Barrel model has a barrel diameter of 2 5/8" and a -10 length-to-weight ratio. The S3 YB13S3 Youth model has a barrel diameter of 2 1/4" and a -13 length-to-weight ratio.
Mac
What about all the bad reviews about the bat denting easily. Has Easton addressed this issue? Jason
These are 2012 model bats so Easton has not done anything to fix these bats. These bats do have some problems denting, but they have still been great bats.
Noah
What is a better bat a -10 or -12? Tuh
A -10 Easton S3 is not going to be any better than a -12 bat it will just be 2 ounces lighter.
Noah
My son uses a Worth Prodigy 29" 19oz (1 year old), the bat is heavily dented and he is in need of new bat. He does like the balance of this bat, does not like sting. He likes the Easton S series bats, I am not sure which one is right for him (S1, S2, S3). He did try a RIP IT 30" 20oz big barrel and did not like it. He has an Omen, 30" 18oz, does not like because of 2 1/4 barrel. His coaches say he has great speed and explosion. He is 10 years old 4'10 1/2" tall weighing 89 pounds (absolutely no fat). I do not like how the Prodigy dented as he used it, but I do understand that might be normal wear for him. I am really torn between going with another aluminum or switching to the S1. I appreciate your help. Kevin
It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. If he had success with the Prodigy, then I would absolutely recommend the Easton S3 over the S2 or S1. If he did not have success with the Prodigy, then it may be a good idea to switch it up and go with the S1 or S2.
Tyler
Is it okay to use the S3 Model SL11S310B if it is below 40 degrees F? Chuck
The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League, or any alloy bat, can be used in temperatures under 40 degrees.
Katie
My son just moved to the intermediate 50-70 league. He was swinging an Easton Reflex 30" 19 oz. Looking at the Easton S3 vs the Marucci Black (last year's model). What's the difference? Al
The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League is a one-piece, 100% alloy bat. The Marucci Black is a two-piece bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel.
Marcus
I got this bat in September and just found out the barrel is to big for my league. I got the bat from wwwjustbat.com can I still get a refund? RaiderHawk
I would call Easton to see if they will replace it. There number is 888-259-1297.

My son will be 10 in July. He is 4' 6" and weighs 80 lbs. I want to get him the Easton S3 and I am not sure whether to get him a 30" or a 29". Can you recommend which one you feel is best for his size. John
I would recommend a 29" Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League for your son.
Kevin
My son is 4' 8" and 70 lbs. Would he need a 30" or 29" bat? He's not a power hitter and is a little weaker with his swing, but he has good mechanics. Mike
We recommend the Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League in a 29" for a player your son's size.
Katie
Is 2 3/4" bigger than 2 5/8"? SoloHR777
A 2 3/4" barrel is bigger than a 2 5/8" barrel.
Marcus
My son is 5'2'' and he wants to know what size bat he will need. nate

Tyler
I'm really confused. Whats the difference between the S1, S2 and S3? Jay
The Easton S1 is a two-piece full composite bat. The Easton S2 is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The Easton S3 is a one-piece full alloy bat. One is not proven to outperform the others and it's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate.
Tyler
I want the Easton S3 Senior League, I want to know if its made for power and what bat is the known as the greatest? SWARM#2
The Easton S3 Senior League is a great bat but it is more for a contact hitter. The Easton XL1 would be the greatest for a power hitter.
Chad M.
Is a 2 piece bat (S2 and XL2) have the same concerns about cracking in cold weather as the composite barrel bats do, or is the S3 and XL3 better for temps over 70? Will
The Easton S3, S2, XL2, and XL3 are fine in colder temperatures. It is only bats with a composite barrel that you cannot use in temperatures under 55 degrees.
Noah
Is it a big barrel bat? b-dob
The Easton S3: SL11S310B has a 2 3/4" barrel and is considered a Youth Big Barrel bat.
Mac
What is the main difference between the Senior League and Junior Big Barrel models by Easton? Is a 27/17 Senior League going to perform the same as a 27/17 Junior Big Barrel? Is the weight distribution different? Coach Dad
The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League is intended for Kid Pitch and Machine Pitch leagues, whereas the 2013 Easton S1: JBB13S1 Junior Big Barrel is designed for Coach Pitch only. The Junior Big Barrel bats will be higher performing, but they have thinner walls that will dent in higher velocity pitching. The S-Series from Easton are balanced models, whereas the XL-Series are end loaded.
Katie
Is this a 2013 model? Jonny P
The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League is a previous year's model. It is not a 2013 bat.
Brandon
I know the difference between the S1 and S3 but I was wondering if my 10 year old son will get the same swing speed and pop from the S3 as he would the S1? Also being 4'9" and 70lbs would the 29" be ok? b
This bat (the Easton S3: SL11S310B) has a 2 3/4" barrel. The Easton S1 big barrel bat has a 2 5/8" barrel. Because of the slight difference in barrel size, the S1 will have a slightly lighter swing weight compared to the 2 3/4" S3. According to Easton, the S1 is the better performing bat as well. Based on his height and weight, a 30" model is actually recommended.
Tyler
My son is 8.5 years old, 52" tall, and weighs 57 pounds. What size do you recommend in a big barrel bat? What Size
We recommend a 28" model of the Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League bat for your son. For future sizing information, check out our Bat Coach tool: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/.
Mac
My son is 5'4" and 100 lbs and more of a line drive hitter. Which would you say is a better bat for him, the Easton S1 or The Easton S3. Harrison
Both are good balanced bats. The Easton S1 will be higher performing as it is a two-piece composite bat, whereas the Easton S3 is a one-piece alloy.
Damon
My son is 9 years old, 53" and 72 lbs. He is starting kid pitch travel this year. Is this the right bat? Hoping for the bat to survive 3 practices/week + games. There are no bat restrictions. Is 29" 18 oz. correct? Pete
The Easton S3: SL11S310B is a high performing bat with average durability. It should work well for a 9 year old ball player. The Easton S3: SL11S310B is not produced in a 29" 18 oz. model, but based on his size, he should be just fine with a 29" of the Easton S3.
Tyler
Is this bat Little League approved? caden
Check with your league to see what barrel diameter is allowed. The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League has a 2 3/4" barrel, usually Little League will only allow 2 1/4". That would mean that you would have to go with the 2013 Easton S3: YB13S3 Youth.
Chad M.
Is the 2 3/4" barrel larger than the 2 5/8" barrel? cj
Yes, the 2 3/4" barrel is slightly larger than the 2 5/8" barrel on the Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League.
Kevin
Is this bat approved for Babe Ruth baseball? Buzz
The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League features a 2 3/4" barrel diameter. The 2 3/4" barrel diameter is not currently approved in any division of Babe Ruth baseball.
Mac
Will it hit a ball over the fence every time I swing as hard as I can? Or will it be like a DeMarini and swing as hard as I can and barely get it to the outfield? basnll
The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League is a great one-piece bat. But it will not hit the ball over the fence every time. It will have a very balanced swing weight also.
Brandon
My son is a good contact hitter but I am looking for him to get more pop from his bat. He is 48" and about 50 lbs. He currently has a 26" 16 oz. TPX Omaha now. Would he be better off going to an Easton XL3 or Easton S3 or something else? He will be playing coach pitch tournaments this summer but kid pitch in the fall. Do you recommend a Senior League bat or Junior Big Barrel bat? gak
The 2013 Easton XL3 is an end loaded bat, better suited for a power hitter. The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League is a more balanced bat. We recommend using a Senior League bat that can be used in coach pitch and kid pitch.
Kara
Do you have a Easton 26" long and 2 1/4 barrel? cha
The only Easton 2 1/4" bat available in a 26" is the 2013 Easton Magnum: YB13MG Youth. The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League is currently unavailable in a 26" 16 oz.
Kara
My son is 8 years old and in a kid pitch league. The league rules are age appropriate. I am wanting to get a big barrel bat for him. I was wondering if he should get a drop 12 or 10? Cb
The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League is a very balanced bat. A drop 10 would be appropriate for his age.
Kara
How does the 2013 model differ from last years model? What improvements have been made? matt
The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League and the 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310B Senior League bats are nearly identical bats. There were no major improvements between these models. They use the same alloy material.
Robert
Can the S3 be used in a cage with dimple balls? Bridger
The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League bat is not recommended to use against the dimpled balls as they can cause damage. Try and stick with regular baseballs.
Brandon
Could you please compare this bat to the Worth Lithium Edge Prodigy SLP102? sassy
The Worth Lithium Edge Prodigy and the Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League will be very similar in performance, but the Easton S3 will be slightly more durable.
Noah
My son is 11, 5' 5", weighs and 140 lbs. He is trying to decide between the Easton S1, S3, or the Rawlings VELO. He borrowed the VELO and hit the ball very hard with it. He currently uses the TPX 30" 20 oz. What would you recommend? Mark
The Easton S1, S2, and Rawlings VELO are all very balanced bats. The S1 is Eastons top of the line bat and will perform just as high as the Rawlings VELO. The S1 is a two-piece bat and the VELO is a one-piece design, so it will come down to personal preference.
Noah
My son normally swings an XL1. He is playing in some cold weather tournaments. Would this bat be a good cold weather alternative for him? jeff
The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League would be a great alternative for him to use in colder weather.
