Description

The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its second season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, and S3). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Scandium Alloy hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The XL2 features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: this bat has a lot of pop. i went from a one piece bat to this bat and you can really feel the whip effect of the two piece structure. also you cant get jammed with this bat.

Cons: it comes mostly game ready but i would recommend breaking it in a little to get used to it.

Stinky

Pros: Less vibration than the Rival. Large sweet spot. Miss hits seems seem to go a little further than Rival. Bat feels balanced. Not extreme end loaded.

Cons: Drop 8. Would have been nice to have drop 9 or 10 in the XL2 model.

POWER HITTER KID

Pros: Has a lot of pop, really good bat and hits really far. Thought the XL1 was better, but ended up liking this one more for the big barrel. If you are AAU and just starting, and a power hitter, this is the bat for you.

Cons: Chips easily.

Pros: Great pop and durability. Had about 12 over the fence in around 15-20 games. I switched from the omen to the xl2 and could feel the difference right away. Much more pop then the omen.

Cons: End loaded and more for a power hitter

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton XL2 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL13X28? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Would this bat be legal in Little League Juniors division for the 2013 season? batter
Yes, the 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 would be legal for play in the Little League Juniors division.
Tom
I am interested in PRE BOOK for this bat. I have ordered bats from you before but never a PRE BOOK. How does that work? Ed
The Pre Book 2013 Easton's will ship out on November 14th with free 2nd day air. The process of placing the order for a Pre Book item is the exact same as any regular order except that your card will not be charged until we ship your item out.
Tom
My grandson is 5'1"-95 lbs-he used the S2 series last yr-I was wondering if he could move to the XL 2 (-8drop) 0r XL 3 (-9 drop)- he used a 30-20 ratio last year but has grown 7" & gained 15 pounds snapper
If he has good swing speed and strength, then the XL Series would be a good option. I recommend sticking with a two-piece hybrid degsign and going with the XL2 over the XL3.
Tyler
My son used the 2012 last year but I want to progress him up to a -5. Is this bat going to be available in a -5 and if not what would be a comparable bat to this one? Swing weight, sweet spot, etc. He hit with it very well last and liked it. Chris
Unfortunately, the XL2 will not be produced in a -5. Only the XL1 and XL3 will be available with that length to weight ratio. Other comparable bats are: Marucci Black: MSB115, DeMarini Vexxum: DXVX5, and DeMarini Voodoo: DXVD5.
Tyler
Are there going to be any 2013 Speed series eastons available in a -8? Not sure my son would be able to handle the xl series. He just turned 13 is 5'5" 110 lbs.Consistent line drive/gap hitter with some power. Also considering CF5 or B4 Portent.Probably 31/23 regardless of which bat we choose. Any advice would be appreciated Matt
There will not be any Easton S Series bats produced in a -8. Recommendations always depends on what bat your son has used previously with the most success. You are more than welcome to call (1-866-321-2287) or email (support@justbats.com) with what bats your son has used previously with success, and we would be happy to offer the best recommendations.
John
Is there ever gonna be a solid 32/24? papabear
We will have the 32" 24 oz. model of the 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 in stock by 11/15/2012.
Tyler
Is this bat bbcor? Lernix
No. The 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 is not BBCOR certified. Only Adult bats are eligible for BBCOR certification.
Tyler
Do you have a 32" 24 oz. model? doodle
We are currently out of stock on the 32" 24 oz. model in the 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 Senior League bat. They will be listed on the website when they are back in stock.
Aubrey
will this come in a 28/20? Dnice
Unfortunately the smallest size the 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 Senior League baseball bat will come in is a 29" 21 oz.
Jeff
Does this bat have composite in it? Baseball fever
The 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 features a alloy barrel with a composite handle.
Tyler
Which bat do you recommend? 11 year old, fast hands, choosing between the XL2 -8 (29/19) and the SL3 -9 (30/21). Which bat is going to give him more power? Will both of these bats provide more power than the S3? cfb
I'm not sure what SL3 bat you are referring to, but if he has good power and good swing speed, he will benefit from the endloaded design of the XL2 and will generate more pop with it compared to the S3.
Tyler
What has more power the XL2 -11, or XL2 -8? E-bobm
Both the -11 and -8 size 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 Senior League bats will have the two-piece composite handle and alloy barrel. If you are a strong enough hitter I would say that the -8 will get you more power. The heaviness of the bat will get you more swing velocity through the hitting zone. Just make sure the -8 is not too heavy for you.
Brandon
Which bat has more pop, the XL1 or XL2? Iceman10
Both the XL1 and the XL2 are USSSA approved and will perform within the parameters that the USSSA certification allows. The XL1 because it has a composite barrel will need to be broken in and will achieve it's peak performance after it has been broken in. The XL2 has an alloy barrel and will be at peak performance level from the very beginning.
Jeff
How does this bat differ from the 2012 version? Alan
The 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 Senior League bat has updated composite in the handle called SIC Black Carbon Composite. This composite will be more durable than the IMX composite in the 2012 model.
Aubrey
What's the difference between the Easton XL2 (-8) and the Easton XL3 (-9)? Is this bat approved for Little League's Junior Division? Bryan
The 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 Senior League bat is a one-piece fully alloy bat. The 2013 Easton XL3: SL13X39 Senior League is a two-piece hybrid bat featuring a composite handle with an alloy barrel. Both bats have extended barrels which are slightly end-loaded for added power. Both of these bats are approved for most Little League divisions.
Robert
Would you recommend getting the XL2 or the XL1? cbennet1
I recommend going to with the Easton XL1, because it will keep its pop longer than the Easton XL2 will.
Noah
Since this bat has composite material in it, can it be used in early spring with the temperature sometimes below 50 degrees? dkglas
As with all composite bats, I advise not using the 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 Senior League in temperatures less than 50 degrees.
Kevin S.
Would this bat in size 31 in / 23 oz be a good fit for a boy playing 12u? He is 5 ft 3 in and weighs 110 lbs. Last year he used a Eason Rival XXL 31/22 with 2 5/8 barrel. He is pull hitter that hit mostly doubles and several home runs last year. I just want to make sure the composite handle will work for someone who is a pull hitter. dkglas
It's always recommended a player move up at least 1-3 ounces with each new bat. Since he's been using a 22 oz. Rival with what sounds like good swing speed and power, he should be just fine moving to a 31" 23 oz. XL2. The XL2 is a great bat for any power hitter or pull hitter.
Tyler
I am 4' 11" and I am a contact hitter that can get the bat through the zone pretty fast. Would you recommend the XL2 or the XL3? 30" or a 31"? Bryan
If you have good bat speed, I would recommend the 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 Senior League. It will be better suited for a contact hitter. Here is a link to our Bat Coach that can help you choose the right length. http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
John H
Is the barrel length of the XL1 and XL2 the same or is the XL1 slightly longer? BMH
Both the 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 Senior League and the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League will have the same barrel length.
John H
What bat wins? COMbat Grifter vs Easton XL2? T. Benavides
The 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 Senior League bat and the COMBAT Grifter are both great bat options. The 2013 XL2 is the more popular model. It will have a composite handle and an alloy barrel. It will require no period of break-in. It will have an end loaded, barrel heavy swing weight that power hitters tend to love.
Brandon
5'0, 105 lbs. Used Easton S2 (30/20) last year. Would 31" be the right length now and if so is jumping from a 20 to a 23 oz. bat to big of a jump? David
Based on your size, a 30" or 31" bat is recommended. It's common and completely natural for a player to move up 1-3 oz. with each new bat. If you had good swing speed with your 20 oz. bat, you should be just fine moving up to a 23 oz. bat.
Tyler
5'2" 90 lbs and Babe Ruth doesn't allow composite barrels in my area. What bat between the XL2 and XL3 should I get? Dirtbag44
The 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 and the 2013 Easton XL3: SL13X39 are excellent bats. If you are more of a contact hitter we recommend the 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28.
Kara
Son swings a 32" 20 oz. bat now with great bat speed and power. He's almost 6' and 130 lbs and needs to move up. What is your suggestion? Jakesdad
Given his size, I suggest going with the 32" 24 oz. model of the 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 Senior League bat.
Marcus
What is the difference in performance between the Easton XL2 and the DeMarini Voodoo? E
The 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 Senior League and the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR and DXVD5 will both perform at the same level. The biggest difference between the two is the XL2 is a -8, and the Voodoo comes in a -9 (DXVDR) and a -5 (DXVD5).
Katie
Is this bat legal in 13U Babe Ruth, since bat is composite and alloy, not 100% composite? The rules state that if the barrel is composite, it has to have BBCOR stamp. That's all it states though, it doesn't clarify anything else. Any thoughts? Thank you. S. Juarez
The 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 Senior League is legal in the 13-15 Babe Ruth Division. Only bats with a composite barrel must be BBCOR certified. If it is all alloy or has a composite handle and alloy barrel it is legal in the 13-15 Babe Ruth Division.
Kara
Is this bat legal in Junior Little League? monster

Kara
I bought a 2013 Easton XL2 and played one game with it. Now I feel something wiggling inside it when you shake it. It feels normal besides that. Is this normal for a two piece Easton XL2 or is something wrong with it? Tb
Typically, this doesn't happen on the 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 Senior League bat. I can assure you it will not affect your overall performance. Here is Easton's number if you'd like to call their warranty department. 888-259-1297.

Which bat would have a larger sweet spot and more pop, this one ore the Combat Wanted -8 WANSL108? UA39
Both the Easton XL2 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL13X28) and the 2014 COMBAT Wanted Senior League Baseball Bat (WANSL108) would have similar peak performance levels or "pop" due to safety ratings on the bats. However, the XL2 will have a more extended barrel for a larger sweet spot and will feature an end-loaded feel which can lead to more power if the player is able to swing it well.
Patrick
Do you have any other of these in stock? Can you check to see if you have a 31/23 in this model? Cougar
Unfortunately, we are completely sold out of the Easton XL2 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL13X28). This model has been discontinued by Easton so we do not anticipate getting any additional sizes in stock. We apologize for the inconvenience.
