Description

Easton truly believes that every player should have the opportunity to hit for power. However, the road to power hitting is different for every player. Some players need extra bat speed to reach their full power potential, while others need more weight and a bigger barrel. That's why Easton is changing the game this season and taking an approach to bats that no other manufacturer has ever tried before. Introducing the POWER Brigade; Two series, one distinct result. Whether you prefer the fast swinging Speed Series or the heavier extended barrel XL Series, POWER will be your outcome. Forget flashy designs and gimmicky names, these bats produce RESULTS. The Speed Series (S1, S2, S3) features the lowest Moment of Inertia (M.O.I.) on the market to create light swing weights and generate more power. On the other side of the spectrum, the XL Series (XL1, XL2, XL3) features extra long barrels designed to give players expanded hitting zones and more mass in the barrel, generating more power in every swing. Easton really does strive to fulfill the preferences of any type of player as both series come in two-piece IMX Composite designs (S1 and XL1), two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Aluminum hybrid designs (S2 and XL2), and one-piece THT100 Aluminum designs (S3 and XL3). As for the materials, Easton's patented IMX Composite has proven to be one of the highest performing materials in the game year after year, while THT100 Aluminum provides superior dent and crack resistance. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology and you have a new line of bats that is second to none. Easton: We Believe In Power! This bat is BBCOR Certified and approved for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: For a BBCOR it's the best out there. I like it better than the speed version because of the more mass behind it. It seems like it has more pop

Cons: It's a BBCOR

Pros: Decent pop, large barrel, better than the speed. If you weight more than 150 or so get the Xl2..the speed series is too light and barel is small.

Cons: Wish it had a little more weight towards the end, I'm 148 pounds and got the 33 and it feels too light. I seriously wish I got the 34

Cons: since it has more mass, its pretty top heavy, so it would be a good idea to get this bat one size smaller.

Pros: Just started using this bat for my JV season and I cannot tell the difference between this and BESR. Great Pop, the ball jumps off the bat extremely well, definite sweetspot. Today I hit a line shot Triple over the CF the hardest ball I ever hit, it travaeled about a good 380. My buddy also used it and he hit a monster shot down the line. Great bat.

Cons: It is white and therefore stains easily.

Pros: my 13 year son likes the swing weight and the fact it is end loaded for power hitters. He has hit the ball very well. he has used the bat in 12 practices and two tourneys and today the bat sounded dead. I noticed the handle was loose and was turning inside the barrel. Calling warranty dept. tomorrow. I will post how the experience goes and how fast he gets a replacement.

Cons: the bat failed in 4 weeks. My sons takes very good care of his equipment. only hitting real baseballs. this is his personal bat and not a team bat.

Pros: Im sick of everyone saying how bad BBCOR is. Honestly its making the sport safer and it makes us better as players becuase now you don't have people swinging the bat halfheartedly and still hitting the ball over the fence. Now you have to actually swing it and now if you do go pro the transition is not so drastic. This bat though is great. Caters to my type, i thought i would need a speed series one but this is great cause i must already generate a lot of bat speed and the extended sweet spot helps me a lot. So if you swing the bat fast, but need more sweet spot then get this bat, but i would suggest feeling the other bats Easton has released.

Pros: This bat is awesome! For a bat that is supposed to be more endloaded, its still very balanced. I have no trouble getting my hands and the bat through the zone very quickly. The aluminum barrel is very responsive and gives great pop. It also has a sweet sound. And the composite handle provides optimal flex. I also love the grip. I hope this review helped!

Pros: This bat is great. It is like the Stealth of BBCOR's. Felt great from the first time I put it in my hands. I've used the XL3, z1000, Nike MC2, and Easton Typhoon, This one is no doubt the best. Looks great, and the price is good. It feels awesome when you hit the ball. Huge sweet spot, it's overall a great bat.

Cons: It's white, so it gets marked easily. but that's no problem.

JRE

Pros: It has awesome pop for BBCOR. I've used the Vexxum, Voodoo, Omaha, CF5, and the Exogrid. This bat tops them all. First off, I'm a mix between a power hitter and a contact hitter so it works out great for both as long as you have bat speed (It's a little end-loaded. I'm 5'9" at 145 pounds but fairly strong). The pop of this thing is incredible. The ball comes off it so smoothly and wherever it connects it feels like you hit it off the sweetspot (which by the way goes from the top and halfway to the A). I haven't felt any sting from it at all. I've been hitting lasers in practice and can easily hit bombs with it. Also, it looks pretty sweet. Also, many of the Easton's seem to have a tendency to break, I haven't had a problem with it so far so just keep good care of it and you should be fine. Oh and not really a pro but since it's white you can see where you hit the ball and check out where your missing or if you hit it spot on.

Cons: Grip is grippy when you get it but looses grip fast. I'd suggest wearing batting gloves just for the grip. It's quite comfortable otherwise. Also gets dirty quickly, but who cares?

Pros: Great sweet spot and a great sound. It has just the right amount of end load. I'm 5'7" and 140 lbs. and I swing it great. I'm hitting line drives and a few bombs and noticed the sweet spot is huge. I had a CF5 that broke and I am much happier with this.

Cons: My entire team is always wanting to use it.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton XL2 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB11X2? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

When they say these bats are heavier, do they mean they are more top heavy bats or just heavier overall? sean
That just means they will have more weight towards the end of the barrel making it more top heavy.
TJ
What would you recommend for a power hitter the Nike mc2 dermarini voodoo 2012 the Easton surge or the Easton xl2 Mike
The BB11X2 is going to be a great bat for a power hitter. This bat is made for power hitters with some of the weight distributed towards the end of the bat. This is also a 2 piece bat that is going to be a little more stiff more power hitters.
Todd
Whats the difference between this bat and the Easton S2? Go Bells
The XL2 has an extra long barrel design for massive sweet spot and expanded hitting zone. The S2 is a speed design which gives the player faster swing speeds for increased power.
Kris
Would you recommend this bat for a contact hitter? Is this bat end loaded with weight or is it more evenly weight distributed? Eric
This bat is going to be more for a power hitter. It is going to be a stiffer bat geared more towards a power hitter. This bat is going to be more end loaded then balanced.
Todd
what is the advantage of the tht100 aluminum ? Panda
It is a very high performing alloy put out by Easton. The ball travels a greater distance off the bat.
Mark
I have a quick swing but often hit for power which would you reccomend the xl2 or the s2 CF
look at your past season if u find yourself hitting predominantly singles then go with the s2 if you find that you are hitting more extra base hits then you're looking at the xl2
alex
Is this bat approved for High School play in Indiana? Marty
Yes, this bat would be legal for High School play.
John
Between the Easton xl2 bbcor and the voodoo 2011 bbcor which would your recommend and why? Triple B
You sure didn't make this question easy. Both have awesome traits. Both are similar in design, 2 piece, composite handle, alloy barrel. The Easton has the Extended barrel design, and personally, I love a bigger sweet spot.
Utripflip
what is the difference between the XL2 and the XL3 jherring44
The XL2 has an alloy barrel with a composite handle. The XL3 has a composite barrel and alloy handle. Both bats will be very high preforming adult bats. Composite bats require a break in period while alloy bats do not. Alloy bats are game ready right out of the wrapper.
Kris
Which would be better for a power hitter the Easton XL2 Or Easton S2 Nick
The XL2 is more designed for a power hitter, with it extended barrel more mass equals more power.
Shelbe
Which has more pop , this one or XL1? or other BESR Easton bat? YOUTH-K
Any old BESR bat will perform better than a BBCOR. The BBCOR standard was put in place to limit the performance of bats. That was because most BESR bats out there were exceeding teh performance limits that had been set in place.
Mark
What the difference between balanced bats and end loaded bats? deeboy
A balanced bat has the weight even distributed throughout the bat. An endloaded bat will have more weight at the end of the barrel. These are usually used for power hitters. The BB11X2 is an end loaded bat.
Kara
what is the difference between the xl2 and the xl3 billie
That main difference between the two bats is that the XL2 is going to be a two piece composite handle and alloy barrel, it will have slightly more flex than the XL3, the XL3 is going to be a full alloy design, this will make it a stiffer feeling bat.
Sean
Does the hybrid design have an advantage? What is the reasoning behind a composite handle and alloy barrel? Is the full composite or full alloy better than the hybrid? Thanks Jk
Using a composite handle and alloy barrel will give the player some flex unlike an all allooy barrel which will be much stiffer. The all alloy bats are normally used by power hitters.
K.B.
My son swung the Stealth Speed. He has yet to get comfortable with a BBCOR.Which of these power brigade would you reccommend that would swing most like the Stealth Speed? Baseball Dad
The new Easton S1 BBCOR: BB11S1 Adult bat will be the most similar to the old Stealth Speed in terms of balance, swing weight and construction. Currently, we do not have any BB11S1 bats in stock, but we expect to receive some mid-October.
Tyler
This one, the XL2 would have a similar feel to the Stealth Speed.
mason
What is the advantage of an all composite bat? Is it worth an extra $100? Mils
Composite bats tend to have more pop because they get hotter the more you use them. An alloy bat is going perform the same through the life span of the bat.
K.B.
Are two piece bats better than one piece bats if so what would you recommend for a power hitter the xl2 or xl3 dee
The XL3 is going to be more for power hitters because it has a stiffer handle than the XL2. Two piece bats have more flex than a one piec bat.
K.B.
Will this bat be appproved for usssa in the spring? heath
A BBCOR bat is not USSSA approved. Senior League bats are USSSA approved.
Kara
What would be better for a person who hits line drives and has quick hands s2 or xl2 BBCOR King
The S2 would be a little better for a line drive hitter.
Mark
I am 15 years old 5'10 150 pounds. I have average to above average swing speed, but fairly strong. Is this the bat for me? Kevin
Yes. It is a great bat for stonger hitters with good bat speed. It is end-loaded with a slightly bigger sweet spot.
K.B.
What type of bat is better for power hitters 2 piece or 1 piece. Im deciding on the xl3 and xl3 dee
Generally, power hitters tend to prefer 1 piece bats.
Linda
What are the differences between the xl's and the speed's. is one more top heavy or something or what? Daygos
The XL's will have a slightly larger sweet spot with a slight endloaded feel to them. The Speed series will be a very well balanced bat which will make it feel a little lighter than listed.
John
Do the XL and S series bats have a stiff or regular flex handle? ScottC44
They both will have a regular flex handle. The XL3 and S3 will have a stiff handle.
Kara
Ok, so im 15, about 220 and 5'10, what bat would be better the xl2 or xl3? Speed series? Cbris
That comes down to your preference. The XL3 is a one-piece bat that will be a little stiffer than the XL2 which is a two-piece bat. Power hitter traditionally lean towards a stiffer bat (like the XL3). If you're a strong, power hitter with good bat speed the XL3 may be more beneficial.
John
I use a easton sv12 now, which bbcor power brigade bat swings most like the sv12? the xl or s. thanks joe
The SV12 has a lighter MOI and will be more like the Speed (S) Series from Easton. It will be most similar to the BB11S2.
Brett
Does the xl2 have a stiff flex handle? dee
No. It will be a little more flexible.
K.B.
Which is the difference betweenthe XL1 and the XL2? In testing which Bat hit the ball farther? Dennis
The XL1 is a two piece fully composite bat. The XL2 is a two piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle.
Kara
Would you recommend the S2 for contact hitters rather than this bat? Wes
The S2 is a good model for people who are trying to generate more bat speed. The XL2 is going to be a good model if you are trying to get more pop off of the bat.
Sean
I'm not necessarily tha biggest and strongest player on my team but I have the fastest bat on the team. Should I go with a XL or Speed bat? AJ
The Speed series may be easier for you to swing based on your style of play. The XL will be more end-loaded and may slow your swing speed down a little.
Derek
I'm 5'7" and about 190 lbs and i consider my self to be a power hitter. Where I live it is very cold during my season would this be a good bat for me? Hammett35
This bat will have an end-loaded feel which makes it a good choice for stronger hitters. Try not to use it too much when it's below 55 or 60 degrees.
Derek
is this bat like the easton stealth speed (but probably with less pop) multarguy
This is a very good bat with tons of POP. This is 100% composite just like the Stealth was.
KG
Out of all the new easton bats, which one hits the ball the farthest? joe
That just depends on what the player prefers, the way easton made the three models was to get one that fits different types of hitters.
Sean
My son is 5'9" and weighs 125 lbs. at age 12. He is a power hitter and has used all DeMarini CF4 bats to date. We have to invest into a BBCOR bat for him and I'm interested in looking at this bat versus the Demarini CF5. Mike
I lean a little more to the BB11S1 for him. With him being just 12 and jumping from a youth big barrel to a BBCOR that is a big jump and the S1 is specifically designed to swing lighter.
Linda
I'm deciding between the XL2 and the S2. I'm a smaller guy, but I swing for power more often than not. Swung a 34 Omaha BESR last year but will be switching to a 33, which is why I was leaning towards the XL2 for the extra mass, but I wouldn't want it to be too heavy. Also, do you think two piece and single piece make that much of a difference? (S3, XL3) Thanks Francis
I would probably go with the XL2, it will give you increased pop without slowing down your bat speed. There is not a huge difference between the one piece and the two piece design from the easton models.
Sean
is there going to be a difference in swing speed between the xl2 and the xl3? anonymous
If you want a quicker bat speed, look into the Easton S2.
Linda
Considering that the XL2 is a two piece bat, is it still geared for a power hitter? LuvinIt
Two piece bats are usually geared toward contact hitters. The XL3 is more for power hitters.
Kara
I'm a fifteen year old 6'5", 240 power hitter, and I'm considering buying either the XL1 or XL2. I have swung stealths with alloy barrels and stealths with composite barrels and got a lot more pop and durability out of the alloys. Will this translate to these new "power brigade" bats or will the XL1 really produce considerably power and durability? Thanks. wnhs_swag
If you prefer alloy bats and you are a power hitter I would recommend the XL3. It is a one piece all alloy, that is end loaded. The XL2 is more for contact hitters.
K.B.
Will a composite barrel or an aluminum barrel bbcor have more pop? bartender
Typically composite bats have more pop.
Kara
If the XL2 is a bat for contact hitter then why is it in the XL series? BDawg
It has the extended barrel for a bigger hitting surface. With the slight end weighting as you come around the weight at the end transfers the power.
Linda
What are the pros and cons of an all composite bat vs something different? Yaboy
Composite bats tend to have more pop because composite materials are like trampolines. The more you use them the farther the bat bounces off the bat. An all alloy bat will perform the same way throughout the lifetime of the bat.
K.B.
How do I know if I should get a composite bbcor or a hybrid bbcor? JustBats24/7
What preferences do you have? Do you like end weighted or balanced bats. What type hitter are you, power hitter? The Easton XL2 is an awesome bat! It is a two piece and slightly end weighted. Mass=Power.
Linda
Im deciding between the XL1 and the XL2. What will help me make my final decision? Helpme
The XL1 is a two piece composite while the XL2 is considered a "hybrid" since it has a composite handle and alloy barrel. Generally, composite barrels out perform alloy barrel bats after they are broken in.
John
Is the composite material used in the XL1 the best material out there? ??????
It is an awesome new material that is really proving to have great pop!
Linda
Hi i'm 5'4" and 146lbs. I'm afreshman in high school. I hit alot of doubles, but not very many homeruns. Should i get the S2 or the XL2? spencer
The Xl2 would be a good one for you.
Linda
Would u recommend xl2 for my son he 5'5 & 145lb & which sizes 14yrs old. Jew
The XL series is going to be more for a power hitter. The S series is going to be more for a contact hitter. Based off your sons height and weight, I would suggest a 31 inch bat.
Todd
looking for a stiff handle bbcor bat. what is better the new rawlings (2012) 5150 or this easton bat, for a power hitter? Do not like the flex handle bats. Gary
I would do the XL3 if you want a stiff handle.
Linda
I'm torn between this bat and the S2 because I hit line drives but I also hit for power but when I hit for power I hit a line drive that carries, not a towering fly ball. Which bat would be best for me or would the black marucci be an even better choice? Also I used to use the surge before these new rules and I liked the way it was weighted. Matt
I would go with the XL2, it is geared to get more distance behind the bat even if it is line drives. The S2 is mainly for players to get more bat speed
Sean
What type of flex does this bat have...regular or stiff..which do you recommend for a contact ( singles, occasional double) hitter Hawg
This bat will have a stiff flex, it is really a personal preference between the two. You might want to try a regular flex to get more whip through the zone
Sean
Is this bat similiar to the red handle 33/30 v12 series or is the s2 more similiar? Thanks jksu1
The S2 would be the closest to it.
Linda
How much heavier does this bat feel compared to the S2 Batsmen
This will have a slight difference compared to the S2. The XL2 has a little end-loaded feel which makes the bat feel top heavy. The Xl2 is designed more for power hitters and the S2 will be for contact hitters.
KG
What bat is better? the easton xl2 or the TPX exogrid for 2012? ryan.crum4
I personally like the feel of the XL2, it is not as stiff of a bat compared to the exogrid, they both hane a good amount of pop to them
Sean
I have a H2 right now and i need to change to bbcor next year would this bat have a simular feel to it? Kyle
This would be similar model in construction. If you liked the H2 this would be a good option for BBCOR.
Terry
What do you recommend for a 5' 8 guy who is 150 lbs., the S2 or XL2? Alex
Size wise I would recommend a 33-30. Between the S2 and the XL2, that depends more on the type of batter he is. Give our reps a call and they can ask a few questions to help determine which one would be best for his batting style.
Linda
Does this bat have much flex to it? Or is the handle stiff? Jake
The XL2 will have flex and isn't stiff.
K.B.
what bat would be better for performance. The Voodoo Black from 2011 or the easton xl? SHortstop
The XL2 is an awesome bat, great pop, huge sweet spot!
Linda
whats the difference between the XL2 and the XL3? dillan
The XL2 is a 2 piece hybrid, composite handle, alloy barrel. The XL3 is a one piece all THT aluminum.
Linda
Which easton bat would be best for contact hitter with some power? dugout dude
I would look at any of the Easton XL series bats, they are going to be slightly end loaded to give the batter more pop
Sean
i have seen many Q&A on here about being a line drive hitter and asking which one to get. but responses have gone both ways saying to get the s2 if your linje drive hitter but get xL2 if ur line drive hitter with GOOD bat speed already. i dont know which to get im 5"10' 145 and hit many line drives for doubles or singles. which is better xL2 or s2?? fsubaseball12
Both are 2 piece bats. And generally speaking contact hitters and line drive hitters like 2 piece bats. The S2 has the lower MOI for faster bat speed, the XL2 has the extended barrel for more mass.
Linda
Which bat is better, the XL2 Powerbrigade or the 5150 bbcor? jake
Both are great bats. It will really depend on what kind of bat you are looking for. The 5150 is going to be more balanced and a one piece alloy bat. The XL2 is a two piece bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel and is slightly end loaded.
Kara
Would the XL3 have the same ping sound like the XL2 or would it have more a thud or a wooden bat sound?? Big D
Yes, the XL2 will have a similar sound compared to the XL3
Sean
What should it sound like when the bat is broken in? Does it make a rattle noise by the connection part? MINIMATT
Because the XL2 has an alloy barrel it does not need to be broken in
John
How does this compare to the xl1? I like the aluminum barrel idea but the xl1 costs more so is it better? Price is no issue. jobro
The XL1 is going to be a Two-Piece full composite barrel and handle. The XL2 is a comopsite handle and aluminum alloy barrel. Over time, composite will out perform aluminum.
Ryan
Is this bat legal for play in Nebraska? Trever
Yes, this bat is approved for High School and college play in Nebraska.
John
I am 5'9" and 200 lbs and have little swing speed but can still muscle up on a ball would I be better off with the S2 or the XL2? and i am a freshman in highschool lonewolf
The s2 is s good fit for players looking for quicker swing speed and control.
Shelbe
I'm 14, 175 lbs, and 5'9,strong but with very quick hands and my problem is that i drop my hands as i swing through the zone, what bat would u recommend? thanks Chris
You would probably want to look at the Easton S2 instead. The XL2 is going to be weighted in the barrel, which have an effect on your swing if you are already dropping your hands. The S2 is going to help drive the ball and develop better swing speed.
Ryan
Is this the same bat as the Red Easton SV12? If not which power brigade is? BHEAGLE
Yes, this model would be closest in comparison to the SV12
John
Since its more top heavy, does it feel more like a wood bat when you swing it? TheRealDeal
It will feel similar to a wood bat that has a high turn model;Easton Pro Stix Maple Wood Bat: PSM271 Adult
KB
Can a contact hitter use this bat? (6ft 155) TheRealDeal
Two piece bats are ideal for contact hitters. The XL2 is end loaded, for power power.
KB
Hey, I am a freshman in high school. I am 6'2 156lbs. I hit a lot of deep pos to the gaps but i cant seem to get the ball over. which bat would you recomend? THEREALDEAL
The XL2 is end loaded so it will be harder to get around. I would suggest the Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 Adult.
Kara
Hey, Im looking for a new BBCOR bat that has great power and durability. Which would you recommend, the Easton XL2 or the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo? metsfan22
Both the Easton XL2 and the DeMarini Voodoo are going to be great bats and are very comparable. The Easton XL2 is going to have an expanded hitting zone and more mass in the barrel, which will generate more power in every swing. The DeMarini Voodoo is going to feature DeMarini's newest technology known as the Taper ring, which will put weight closer to the taper rather than in the barrel and help keep your swing speed at it's fastest. I don't think you could really go wrong with either bat.
Jennifer
I am 5'3" and 95 pounds, make very good contact, but don't swing all that hard. Would you still recommend this bat for me? baseball4life
The Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB11X2 is going to be an endloaded bat designed more for power hitters. Since you are more of a contact hitter, I would suggest the Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2. It is going to be a more balanced bat and suited more for a contact hitter.
Nick
Is this bat approved for Middle School ball in NY Mark
This bat would be approved for Middle School play. As long as the bat is approved for BBCOR certification then it will be approved for play.
John
I'm more of a power hitter, which line would better suit me XL or Speed? elf
I would lean toward the XL if you are a strong hitter with above average swing speed.
Tyler
Would this have a similar feel to the old omaha? joe7
The XL2 will have more of an end-loaded feel than the Omaha. The XL2 is also a two-piece bat, where the Omaha is one-piece.
Tyler
Which bat is the most like the SV12? My son had great luck with that bat. It was a 33-31 so if getting an XL would you get that size or go up a size since he's a year older? cg
The biggest difference between the two bats is the XL2 is end loaded. The SV12 is more balanced. If your son is strong, then the XL2 would be a great fit. Otherwise, we would suggest the Easton S2 BBCOR: BB11S2 Adult
Kara
Used 33/30 Stealth Speed -BBSS1 in 2011 (9th gr). Great bat! Added 25 lbs of muscle since last season (185 now). Thinking XL instead of S, but want similar swing weight to Stealth. Which one? GHowe
The XL2 is end loaded and would be great for a power hitter. It has a longer barrel for a bigger sweet spot.
KB
What is the main difference between the XL1 and the XL2? thunder 23
The Easton XL1 is a two piece full composite bat. This bat will require a break in and will perform better over time the more you use it. The Easton XL2 is a two piece bat as well, but it has an alloy barrel and a composite handle. This bat will not require a break in and will perform best right out of the wrapper.
Jennifer
Which bat is better for a contact hitter with some power, XL2 or TPX Z1000? Wes
If you are looking for more power, the TPX Z-1000 might generate a little more, since it is a stiff one piece design. One piece bats are usually preferred by power hitters. However, the Easton XL2 would be a great bat for a contact hitter since it is a two piece design. The endloaded feel of the XL2 would help generate more power as well. Both are great bats and you can't really go wrong with either!
Jennifer
My son is 5 feet 10 inches, 160lbs, 13 years old and will be playing for 14 and under. Would the Easton XL2 BBCOR 33 inches 30 ounces (-3) be ok for him and also meet the new bat requirements? Fred
Based on your son's height and weight, I would suggest going with a 32 inch bat. This bat is BBCOR certified and is legal for use in high school and collegiate levels.
Jennifer
Will the use of the "Tuff Sleeve" on my son's new XL2 protect it enough to use it in a batting cage with the dimpled balls? SMiller
Even with a bat sleeve, we still recommend you stay away from those dimpled pitching machine balls. Bat sleeves may help a little bit, but after repeated use in the cage, those balls can still be detrimental.
Tyler
I weigh 110 pounds and im 5-2" would this be a good bat to get for playing modified baseball? If so what size? 31" to 28 Oz BaseballKing
If you have above average swing speed and good strength, the XL2 would be a great bat for you. Based on your height and weight, a 30 inch 27 ounce model would be recommended.
Tyler
What is more top heavy the XL1 or the XL2? nicholas
Both will be slightly end-loaded, but the XL2 may feel just a little more top heavy
Tyler
I am 5-9 194 pounds. I have a quick bat, and I hit for a high average and a lot of power. Would you recommend the XL1 or XL3? Sky
Based on your power and quick bat speed we recommend the XL3.
KB
Why is the XL3 better for power hitters than the XL1 if the XL1 is a two piece composite bat, and the XL3 is a single piece bat? Katz
There is not rule that says power hitters have to use a one piece bat. However, most power hitters don't need the flex that a two piece bat provides.
KB
My son just turned 16YO and is 6'0", weighs about 170LBS, he is tall and lanky with some meat on him vs. totally buff. Would you recommend he stay with a 33 -3 or go up to 34-3 on the XL 1 or 2 Baseballnut
Based on his height and weight, I would suggest staying with the 33 inch. However, if he feels comfortable swinging a 34 inch bat he can certainly go that route too. You will also have to keep in mind that the XL series does have a slight end loaded feel so that will make it feel a little heavier too.
Jennifer
Whats the difference between the bb11x2 and the bb11x3? Just price or what? Batman
The difference between the XL2 and the XL3 is that the XL2 is going to have a composite handle with an alloy barrel and the XL3 is a full alloy bat
Sean
How would you break in this bat for the most pop? money ball
This bat has an alloy barrel and does not require a break in. Only bats with composite barrels will typically require a break in. This bat should be hot right out of the wrapper!
Jennifer
Is there a cold weather restriction on the easton XL2? If so what temperature is recommended before use? redsox
There are no cold weather restrictions for the XL2.
Kara
Right now I'm in between this bat and the Marucci Black. I am the lead off hitter on my freshman high school team with great bat speed. I am 5'8", 130 LBS, any recommendations? Jack
Both of these are going to perform very similarly and are great bats. The choice comes down to whether or not you would like a balanced or an end loaded bat. The Marucci Black is a pretty balanced bat, while the XL2 has an end loaded feel to it. Depending on what kind of bat you like to hit with, both are great options and you can't really do wrong with either!
Jennifer
I am considering the XL2 and the Rawlings Machine. I am a 5'10" 145 pound freshman on my highschool team and hit leadoff and I am pretty well rounded between contact and power. What would you recommend? AJ
I would probably suggest going with the XL2. This bat is great for contact hitters and power hitters. The two piece design will help you on the contact/gap hitter side, while the end loaded feel will help you generate more power as well. The Rawlings Machine is a good bat, but is more geared towards just power hitters.
Jennifer
What is better for a power hitter thats 5ft 8 185 pounds this bat or the Easton Omen??? mikey
If you are looking for a power hitter that has a good swing, I would probably go with the XL2. This bat has a little bit of an end loaded feel that most power hitters prefer. However, if you are not used to an end loaded bat, or prefer a more balanced bat, then the Omen is the way to go. You can't really go wrong with either bat.
Jennifer
If I hear a little rattling noise in my XL2 does it mean it is broken? This is only after about 70 swings. Carter
Typically the rattling you are hearing is from a piece of glue or epoxy that was used to secure the end cap onto the bat that has broken off and is trapped inside the bat. This rattling is not something that will affect the life or performance of the bat.
Jennifer
I'm a sophomore batting fourth and I want the best bat out there. I tried this in practice feels good and a lot of pop. Which is the best bat for power hitters? Gribbs
Bats that are end loaded like the Easton XL2 BBCOR are great for power hitters. Some power hitters prefer one piece bats like the Easton XL3 BBCOR.
Kara
I got the XL2 back in the fall, but have struggled with the end loading and now it has a rattle. Can I send it back for a S1? Girth
Easton offers a one year manufacture's warranty for the Easton XL2 BBCOR. They provide a one time replacement of the same bat. Please contact Easton at 1-888-259-1297 for warranty information.
Kara
is the XL2 any better than the XL3 based on performance? And which of these two bats is most like the original Stealth? pigpen27
The XL2 and XL3 are very close to each other in terms of performance. Based on Easton's bat hierarchy, the XL2 is a bit better. The XL1 will be most similar to the original Stealth
Tyler
Is the center rubber piece that connects the 2 pieces a problem if it has come loose and is not connected at all? bcmvp25
No, that will not hinder the performance of the bat.
Zach
Is the feel of this bat similar to the Easton Surge? I bought an S2 and it broke, so I am wondering if I should stick with the S2? I hit well with a Surge. Swingman4
Your Easton S2 should be covered under Easton's manufacturer's warranty and Easton can be reached at 1-888-259-1297. The Easton S2 and the Easton XL2 bats are very similar to the Surge as they are all two-piece hybrid designs. The Easton XL2 has a longer barrel than the S2, so it has a heavier swing weight than the S2 but it will have a similar feel to the Easton Surge.
Austin
I'm 15 years old (turning 15 on the 11th of May) and weigh about 151 pounds. I have a 33 inch Easton XL2 and my coach says I should use a 32 inch bat. But I don't want to spend 300 dollars on another bat. Do you think that I should switch to a 32 inch bat or keep swinging a 33 inch bat? RedSox 1912
If you are comfortable swinging a 33" Easton XL2 BBCOR and you have good bat speed, there really isn't a reason to change. If you need to increase your bat speed the 32" would be a better choice.
Kara
What bat is better for powere hitters looking to get doubles and triples, the XL2 or XL3? robinson
The Easton XL3 would be a great bat for a power hitter. The XL2 is a great bat as well, but the two-piece design of this bat is more preferred by contact hitters.
Jennifer
This bat has a composite handle and an aluminum barrel, right? Nicknamer
This is a half and half constructed bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel. Here is the link to view more details about the XL2 BBCOR. http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-xl2-bbcor--bb11x2-adult/14435/
Derek
What is the difference between the Easton XL2 and XL3? sam
Thank you for your question. The difference between the Easton XL2 BBCOR and the Easton XL3 BBCOR is the XL2 is a two piece composite handle and alloy barrel and the XL3 is a one piece full alloy design.
Nick
I'm 15 years old(turning 16 on 2 of November)I weigh 150 pounds and I've swung the speed series 2 already ,and i felt like it was super light. so i was wondering if i should swing the xl2 series???? BLANCO
If you have already swung the Speed Series and felt like it was really light and you were able to keep high swing speed, the the XL Series would be a great option.
Tyler
Is the XL2 as top heavy as the 2012 Voodoo? LW
Compared to the 2012 Voodoo the XL2 will feel just a little more endloaded.
Tyler
For a contact hitter, would the Easton XL2, XL3, or the Easton S2 or S3 be better. I'm 14 going into highschool and I'm 5'4" 115 pounds. K DOG
The Easton S-series is more balanced for contact hitters, whereas the XL series is more end loaded for power hitters. The Easton S3 is a one piece alloy and the S2 is a two piece with a composite handle and an alloy barrel, which will give you more flex in the swing.
Damon
Which would be better in a 33" model, the Easton XL2 BBCOR or the Easton S2 BBCOR? jay
It depends on what kind of hitter you are. The Easton XL2 BBCOR is an end loaded bat designed for more of a power hitter, whereas the Easton S2 BBCOR is designed more for a line drive hitter.
Damon
Is the XL2 most like the BESR Easton Surge? jeff
Yes, the Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB11X2 Adult is the same design as far as material, but has a slightly more end loaded feel.
Zach
Is it lighter then the Easton XL1? brr26
No, the Easton XL1 and XL2 are the same weight. The difference is the XL2 has an alloy barrel compared the the composite barrel on the XL1.
Damon
I'm 14, 120 pounds and I'm going to be a freshman next year. Of the XL series which one should I get? I have well above average bat speed and I hit in the number one spot. Baseballkid1227
The Easton XL2 BBCOR is two-piece bat, perfect for a player with power in the lead off spot.
Kara
Is this bat or the Easton S2 hit better for a power hitter? lfree
I would recommend the Easton XL2 for a power type hitter. It will be slightly end loaded.
Nick
The rubber piece in between the barrel and handle has come loose on my XL2. Does this affect how the bat performs? noznedem
Yes, it could affect how the Easton XL2 performs. If the XL2 is still within the one year manufacturer's warranty, then it would be replaced through Easton. You will need a copy of our receipt and you will also need to contact Easton at 1-888-259-1297. They will get you set up to ship them the bat for the warranty replacement. We can email you a copy of the receipt, if needed.
Nick
is this bat a good bat for a power hitter or would the x1 be better...2 hitter in the lineup baseballswag1003
The Easton XL1, XL2 and XL3 are all great bats for power hitters. Not one is proven to be better than the other as it all comes down to your personal preference.
Tyler
which is more top heavy the xl2 or the demarini cf4 silver? ale
The Easton XL2 will be a little more endloaded compared to the DeMarini CF4.
Tyler
I'm now 5'10 and weigh 150 pounds and I'm a contact/power hitter, what bat is right for me a Speed series bat or an XL Series bat and what size a 32 inch or a 33 inch? Red Sox 1912
The Easton XL2 is an end loaded bat, perfect choice for a contact hitter with power. We recommend a 32" 29 oz.
Kara
I'm about 6' 160lbs and mostly a contact hitter. Would you suggest the Easton XL2 or S2? and 32 or 33? lattimore
The suggested size for you would be a 33" 30oz. bat. The Easton S2 and XL2 are both two-piece hybrid designs with composite handles and aluminum barrels. The Easton XL2 will be more end loaded with a longer barrel, whereas the S2 has a balanced weight distribution which is more preferred by contact hitters.
Tom
What is the difference between the Easton XL1 and the Easton XL2? I am starting senior league and want a big barrel bat. Ryno
The Easton BB11X1 is a two-piece fully composite design. The Easton BB11X2 is a two-piece hybrid design with an aluminum barrel and composite handle.
Aubrey
What's the difference between the XL2 and the XL1? Dirtbag33
The Easton XL1 is a two-piece bat that is fully composite and the Easton XL2 is a two-piece bat that has a composite handle and alloy barrel.
Nick
What does it sound like when it is broken? Wevin
The Easton XL2 will sound more quiet when the ball comes off of it, and wont give you that ping sound anymore.
Noah
How can you test if it is broken? bigdawg
If you feel your bat is broken, we recommend contacting Easton at 1-888-259-1297. They will have more information about their warranty process as well as information on how to determine if your bat is defective.
Tyler
What is the difference between an alloy barrell and a composite barrell? Wally
Alloy refers to a combination of one or more metals. Composite is made from a combination of carbon fibers and resins.
Tyler
I hear a lot of people saying their bat is broken after a month or so. Is that true? Knuckleballer
We have not heard of an issue like this with the Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB11X2 Adult. This bat does come with Easton's 12month manufacturer's warranty.
Brandon
Which is better for a power hitter, this or the Rawlings 5150 VELO? gamecock4life
The XL2 is recommended for a power hitter with above average bat speed due to it's endloaded design.
Tyler
What is the difference between this bat and the BB11X1 version of the bat? SportsForever
The Easton XL1 is going to be a two-piece composite bat, while the the Easton XL2 is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel, and a composite handle.
Noah
Is the grip of the XL 1, 2 and 3 the same? Why would I want a two piece? One piece bat? momma osbourne
The Easton X2 BBCOR is an end loaded bat, better for a contact hitter with some power. The two-piece will allow for more flex. A one-piece bat like the Easton S3 is stiffer, preferred by power hitters.
Kara
How long before high school disallows it for play? Ric
We have heard nothing about the BBCOR requirements changing, so this bat will be legal for 2013.
Noah
What is the barrel size on this bat? Nick
The Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB11X2 Adult bat will have a 2 5/8 barrel diameter.
Noah
Which will have a longer sweet spot and barrel size, this or the S2? tb

Noah
I'm 13 years old and about to go into high school; I weigh 120-130lbs. Which Power Brigade do you think I should have in XL series? Mark
Most players your age that are making the transition to BBCOR bats use a balanced bat like the Easton S2 BBCOR. However, if you want an end loaded bat, the Easton XL2 BBCOR would be a good choice for a contact hitter.
Kara
Does the warranty on this Easton XL2 BBCOR include sound. For example I had a DeMarini Voodoo it sounded dead, and they didn't let me replace it, if I get the XL2 BBCOR and there is no ping or loud sound will they give me a new bat? a2000

Noah
Is the easton XL2 and XL1 USSSA certified? Mark
The Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB11X2 Adult bat is BBCOR Certified not USSSA. There are some Youth, and Senior League models of these bats that will be USSSA Certified.
Brandon
Ok, my son is about to be 15. He is 140lbs and 5'11". He has hit with a few BBCOR bats but he says the XL2 feels lighter than the Voodoo, TPX Slugger. he also hits really good with it. He is a power hitter. What would be the batter bat for him, the S series or the XL, we have considered the Surge and we have a DeMarini Vengeance but it is a 33 but he swings faster with the 32. Baseball22
It's always recommend that a player stick with what they are comfortable with or what they have used with success in the past. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. Thus, the Easton XL2 is recommended as you said he's hit really well with it before.
Tyler
Is the XL2 a balanced bat or is it end heavy? Broden
The Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB11X2 is endloaded.
Tyler
I am buying this bat for my brother. He is 5'11" 170 lbs senior. He has been using a 33" in this bat. Should I get a 32" or a 33"? ricky robbie
I recommend the Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB11X2 Adult in the 33". If he has used a 33" in the past, he should continue to use that size.
Frank
I am buying a bat for my 13-year-old son for Junior High baseball. He is a power hitter, but has not used a BBCOR bat before. He is 5' 6" and 163 pounds. I am wondering if this would be a good fit for his build. Ryan
The Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB11X2 would be a great option for a power hitter. The end load feel and extended barrel are both characteristics that power hitters tend to prefer.
Mac
What bat would be better for a 5'2" 105 pounded hitter who bats either 1, 2, or 3 depending on the game? curtis
The Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB11X2 Adult bat features an extended barrel with an end loaded swing weight which is generally preferred by a power hitter. Based on your height and weight, we recommend 29" 26 oz. model.
Aubrey
I'm 5'7" and 150 lbs. I am currently playing for my freshman baseball team, and I am wondering if I should use this bat. I'm a number 3, 4, and 5 hitter. I have the Easton S1 and I do great with it, but i wanted to start hitting 15 plus home runs a season now. V
The Easton XL2 BBCOR would be perfect for you since you are a power hitter. The XL Series is slightly end loaded for added power.
Chad M.
Would you recommend this bat for a contact hitter? jake26
The Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB11X2 will have an extended barrel and slightly end loaded swing weight. Typically, power hitters prefer this technology, but it depends on your own preference.

Since the Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB11X2 Adult is end loaded, it is going to have more of the bat's weight shifted toward the end of the barrel.
Marcus
Is this bat any different than the 2013 model? Joshua
Other than the color scheme, the Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB11X2 Adult bat will not be much different than the 2013 version.
