Description

New for The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its second season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, and S3). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Scandium Alloy hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The XL2 is BBCOR Certified and approved for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Cons: After a lot of hitting the end has a cap and at the beginning it didn't move but now after a lot of hitting it is starting to wiggle.

Pros: Amazing pop and huge sweet spot. It's just as good as the XL1, just an alloy barrel.

Cons: It's really top heavy, which isn't really good for me since I'm only 105 lbs.

Baseballbeast29574

Pros: This is a good bat. It has a big sweet spot and great pop. The price is better than the XL1 if you're looking for a cheap bat.

Cons: This bat is too endloaded. Yes, I know its supposed to be, but this bat could be endloaded with more balance. This bat also drops in quality compared to the S1, despite the price. The sweet spot is smaller, the pop isn't quite the same, and the design isn't as vibrant.

Pros: Great bat and stuff blah blah blah...

Cons: After the first couple of swings with it off a tee and some front toss I noticed that the end of the barrel by the bat cap was warped looking more like an oval than a circle.

One-piece bats like the 2013 Easton XL3 BBCOR are best suited for a power hitter.
Kara
What is the difference between this 2013 model and the 2012 one? 14
The handle on the 2013 Easton S2 is made with a new SIC composite that will have the same performance as last year but will offer better protection against vibration and sting.
Tyler
Which XL series has the biggest barrel? D.L
All of the Easton XL Series BBCOR bats have a 2 5/8 Inch barrel diameter which is the approved size for all BBCOR Certified baseball bats.
Jeff
Why is this bat more expensive compared to other Xl series? And why does it only come in one size Eastonlover
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR will be more expensive than the older 2012 models and the 2013 Easton XL3 BBCOR. Bats that are made of composite material will be more expensive than bats made of all alloy. We will be receiving more sizes of the Easton XL2 BBCOR in the next two weeks.
Kara
Is the endload on this bat somewhat similar to the Demarini Voodoo? Pirates baseball
Yes the Easton XL2 will have an enloaded feel like the Demarini Voodoo. They both will have a hybrid design with an endloaded feel.
John

Brandon
What is the biggest difference beside price on the S1 and XL2 thxs RB
The Easton S1 is going to be a two-piece full composite bat with a balanced swing weight. The Easton XL2 is going to be a two-piece bat with a composite handle and an alloy barrel. The swing weight on the XL2 will be endloaded.
Sean
I currently own a 2012 XL3 32" but now becoming a sophomore and getting bigger I realIze I need a 33". Should I stay with the XL3 or move up to the XL2(both 2013 edition). Note I hit 5th in my lineup but also need to hit for average because of quick speed. Nick
It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate.
Tyler
Would you recommend an Easton XL3 or an XL2 for a power hitter that is 5'8" and weighs 175 pounds? Ted
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult bat is a two-piece bat featuring a composite handle with an alloy barrel. The 2013 Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB13X3 Adult bat is a one-piece bat with a full alloy barrel. Both models have an extended barrel and are end loaded. Either bat would be ideal for a power hitter.
Robert
Can this bat be used in cold weather? wig845
Yes, due to the 2013 Easton XL2: BB13X2 having an alloy barrel there will be no weather restrictions.
Kevin
How does the 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 compare to the 2012 model? Byrnesie
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 has upgraded SIC Black Carbon Composite and also upgraded alloy compared to the 2012 Easton XL2. Performance between the two will be similar as they are both BBCOR certified.
Mac
Is the Easton 2013 XL2 available in a -5 (32" 27oz.)? Q
The 2013 Easton XL2 only comes in -3, -8, and -11.
Marcus
This is probably a stupid question, but this bat can be used for high school right? B
Yes, the 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult bat is certified for high school and college play.
Brandon
Can it be used for USSSA tournaments? jordan
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult is legal in USSSA.
Kara
Will this bat break easily? And just how end loaded is it? Chip
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR has a slight end load to it and is not known to break easily. Easton gives you a full 400 day warranty on that bat.
Chad M.
I'm not a power hitter, I can sometimes launch the ball but I'm mostly a contact hitter. Would this bat be good for me? If not then what bat would be good for me? victor
That all depends... If you have above average bat speed, then the 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 would be an excellent choice due to its endloaded design. If you have average or below average bat speed, the Easton S2 would be a better choice.
Tyler
I'm 5'10" 173 lbs. I'm the RBI guy too. what bat should I be swinging, the XL2 or S2 ? And size? ralph
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 is end loaded and recommended if you have above average swing speed. The 2013 Easton S1 BBCOR: BB13S1 is well balanced and recommended is you have average swing speed. Based on your size, a 33" model is recommended.
Tyler
Are they really for power hitter? I don't think there is any bat just for power hitters. IDK
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult bat is going to be best for a stronger batter because the weight of the bat is distributed more towards the end of the barrel. It will take a more powerful batter to swing this properly with good bat speed.
Robert
I am trying to determine how similar the 2013 XL2 would feel in comparison to the 2012 DeMarini M2M with regard to "swing weight" to use a golf term? The reason I ask is, my son who is growing like a weed has been using 32" bats (He's 5'7" 145 lbs). We have determined that we want a Easton XL2. The other day he was hitting my 2012 33" DeMarini M2M and really liked the extra length, it allowed him to be off the plate a bit more to better handle inside pitches, etc. I want to know if the XL2 will be more or less end loaded than the M2M in comparative length? Tim
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult is more end loaded than the 2012 DeMarini M2M.
Kara
I am a double and power hitter. Should I get the XL2 or the 2014 Voodoo? Baseballboy15
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult are both two-piece end loaded bats with an alloy barrel and composite barrel. Both bats are very well-suited for power hitters.
Marcus
I'm 13 and about 5' 8" and 175 lbs. What size bat should I use a 32/29 or 33/30? Brett
We recommend the 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult in a 32" 29 oz. based on your size and age.
Katie
Is the 2012 Easton XL2 BBCOR about the same as the 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR? Is the pop and sweet spot the same size? Basball24
The only difference between the 2012 and 2013 Easton XL2 is the composite used in the handle. The 2013 used a new composite to reduce vibration, but the performance will be the exact same.
Noah
My son uses a Easton XL1 32" 22 oz. this year in Little League. He is 5'8" 195 lbs. Looking for Big Barrel for fall ball and Junior High ball next year. Should he stick with the XL on the big field or switch to a more balanced bat. He's a left handed power hitter in Little Leagyue, but that doesn't mean much on the big field next year. Looking at the Rip- It Prototype AIR along with the Easton XL2. RKUCH34
Since your son is a power hitter I would stick with the Easton XL1. It's end load will help him in both leagues.
Chad M.
I am a power hitter. How would you compare the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo and this bat? Which has more pop? jp
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult and 2014 DeMarini Voodoo will have the same amount of "pop". The Easton XL2 and the Voodoo will also have a very similar feel.
Noah
Since this is not a full composite bat, what is the life span for this XL2 and how about the XL3? Can you also use both model below 55 degrees since XL2 has composite handle and aluminum barrel and XL3 is full aluminum? RS
There is not a time frame for how long any bat will last. The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult and the 2013 Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB13X3 use top of the line alloy and composite materials for great durability and performance. Both can be used below 55 degrees.
Kara
Is this a double barrel? I'm about 5 ft 7 in, 130 lbs and I'm a power hitter. Is this a good bat for me? What do you recommend? My friends think this is a great bat for me but I'm not sure yet. drew 22
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult is not a double barrel bat. It is an end loaded bat, perfect for a power hitter.
Kara
Would you recommend this bat to a power hitter that has quick hands, but also hits for average. I hit 3rd on my high school team and i'm about 6' 1'' 170-175 lbs. Jimbo
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult will be great for a power hitter. You may struggle at making contact at first with this bat at first, but when you do it will fly off the bat.
Noah
When will the new line of Easton be releasing? imahhbeast03
11/1/2013 should be the release date of the new Easton line of bats. So you can look for the 2014 Easton XL2 BBCOR at that time.
Brandon
I am 5' 9", 155 lbs, and I hit 4th on my team. I am thinking about getting the 2013 Voodoo or the XL2, which one do you recommend and which length. NoUsername
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult and the DeMarini Voodoo will both be two-piece end loaded bats. You will not see one out perform the other, but you should be using a 33" 30 oz. bat.
Noah
Will there be any more 32" 29 oz. Easton XL2s? imahhbeast03
Unfortunately, we are all out of stock of the 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult and will not be getting any more back in stock in the 32" 29 oz.
Katie
Right now I am swinging a 31" 26 oz. voodoo, but I am looking to make the transition to BBCOR. I am a line drive and doubles guy. Would the Easton XL2 or S2 be better for me? kmac
The Easton S2 would be a better fit for you as it is a balanced bat designed for contact hitters, whereas the Easton XL2 is more end loaded for a power hitter.
Damon
What does the composite handle do for the bat? How is it different than the XL3? johnny
The composite handle in the 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult will provide more flex or whipping action. A two-piece bat is typically designed for a contact hitter. A one-piece bat like the Easton XL3 is stiffer and is preferred by power hitters.
Kara
Why isn't there a 33 inch option? Wicksey78
Our web site is real-time and reflects our current inventory. The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult bat is a discontinued model, and we no longer have any 33" models in stock.
Mac
Another question, I'm 5'10", 200 lbs. going to be in freshman ball next year. Should I get a XL2, or XL3, the deal breaker is sting, which one would sting more? Should I get a 33" or 34"? Wicksey78
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 34" model in the 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult because it will reduce vibration more as a two-piece design.
Aubrey
I'm 5'6" 130 lbs and I have really good swing speed. I used the Easton Surge in the past and really liked it. I heard this is very similar. Would this be a good bat for me? timjim
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult is the replacement for the Easton Surge. It will be similar in feel and performance.
Kara
I loved the Voodoo, but everyone on my team has one, kinda old. Would this perform just like the Voodoo? Adam
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult is a two-piece bat that is end loaded. The DeMarini Voodoo is also a two-piece bat that is end loaded. They will be similar in feel and performance.
Kara
I'm looking for a bat that will last at least two years, out of XL Series. Which do you recommend for lasting time? SportsBroAllDay
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult bat has an alloy barrel so it is hot right out of the wrapper. With use, the bat will slowly decline in performance over time. The XL1, with its composite barrel, requires a break-in period but should continue to perform at a high level for a longer period of time. Unfortunately, there is no way to exactly predict the amount of use you can get out of any bat.
Mac
I am 6' and about 160 lbs. going to be a freshman. I mostly got singles last year. What bat out of the XL or S series would you prefer? I can produce power though. Tvells1449
A two-piece bat like the 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult are best for a contact type of hitter. The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult is also end loaded and would be great for a contact hitter with some power.
Kara
I'm 5'10 215, which length should I get? 33/30, or 34/31? watupbball
After taking a look at our Bat Coach feature the ideal size for you would be a 33" 30oz. To help determine sizing options always check out our Bat Coach. http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
John
I am age 11 and 120 pounds. I am a contact and a power hitter. Would it be good for me to get the adult XL2? B
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult is too heavy for your age. We recommend the youth big barrel bat: 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 Senior League.
Kara
I don't know what BBCOR bat to get but I'm interested in the XL series. I'm a power and contact hitter with a lot of bat speed which XLl bat should I get? Tc
The two-piece, end loaded design of the 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult is a perfect choice for a contact hitter with power.
Kara
I am age 14, 125 pounds, 5' 10", and mostly a contact hitter. What would be the best Easton bat for me? gig
The 2013 Easton S2 would be a great bat for you. It is balanced, two-piece model that is great for a contact hitter.
Noah
I am about 5' 5" and 105 pounds. Would the 2013 Easton XL2 or 2013 Easton S2 be better for me? I'm a contact hitter. tcline21
Deciding between the XL2 and S2 is more dependent on your strength and bat speed than height and weight. However, because you are a contact hitter, the balanced swing weight of the S2 would be more beneficial to you. The more balanced a bat is, the faster it can be swung, and the more control you have through the hitting zone. The XL2 has a slight end load which is designed for a power hitter.
Mac
Is the 2014 s3 better for me if im 5'5 and 105 pounds. Im mostly a contact hitter. tcline21
The Easton S3 is definitely designed for the swing of a contact hitter. It will allow you to achieve higher swing speeds and better control through the hitting zone. This XL2 has a slight end load which is typically best used by power hitters with high swing speeds.
Mac
I'm 13 about 5'11" and 165 lbs. I have the S2, and was wondering if the XL2 or the XL1 would be better? LewistonAllstar
If you like the construction of the S2, then the 2013 Easton XL2 would be for you. If you want to try a composite, the 2013 Easton XL1 will be the way to go.
Justin R.
Does this bat make more of a "ping" sound? Or a similar sound to to S1? Jack
We have audio available for the 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult. Please follow this link to listen to the sound: http://www.justbats.com/product/2013-easton-xl2-bbcor--bb13x2-adult/15978/
Kara
I was told by a friend who has swung both the XL2 and XL3 and that the XL2 felt very top heavy while the XL3 was fairly balanced for an end-loaded bat. I am aware that both bats are supposed to feature an end load, but to a JustBats representative, are they both balanced equally? I am a gap hitter and have used more balanced BBCOR bats previously, but am interested in trying something else out. js
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult and the 2013 Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB13X3 Adult have an end loaded design. However, two-piece bats that have an alloy barrel and a composite handle tend to feel heavier because the alloy weighs more than the composite.
Kara
When will the 2014 XL2 BBCOR bats be out? Dave
Unfortunately, the Easton XL2 BBCOR has been discontinued and will not be produced for the 2014 season.
Mac
What bat is going to replace the XL2? beast
At this time there is not a bat out yet to replace the 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult.
Brandon
Will there be a new model for the XL2 BBCOR bat? anthony
As of right now there are no plans for there to be a new model of the Easton XL2 BBCOR.
Tori
Is this bat good for a contact hitter? I'm 5'3'' and I would like to know if this bat is good for me. chase14
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult is going to be best designed for a power hitter because it is end loaded. Normally, balanced bats are better suited for contact hitters.
Tori
Would this bat suit me? I"m 5'11 and weigh 189 lbs. Which would feel better for me the XL2 or XL3? BOSS
Yes, the Easton XL2 would work well for a player your height and weight. Both the XL2 and XL3 are more designed for the power hitters that prefer a more of an end loaded design. Choosing between the two would come down to a personal preference of the one-piece (XL3) or a two-piece (XL2) design.
John
I'm 15 years old and I weigh 155 pounds. I was wondering if this bat is good for me? Dan
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult is a very high quality bat with lots of pop. The extended barrel and end loaded swing weight are ideal for power hitters. If you are a power hitter looking to get more out of your swing, the Easton XL2 would be a great choice.
Justin R.
How would the barrel size compare to the Easton Surge? A-a-ron
The most similar model to the Easton Surge is the S2. This 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult has a longer barrel that gives it a slightly end loaded swing weight. Most of the Surge models were designed to be more balanced. The Surge XXL model would have a barrel comparable to this XL2, and all of the bats mentioned are two-piece hybrids with alloy barrels and composite handles.
Mac
I'm 15 years old and 6' tall. What size bat should I use? Which bat would be a good fit for me? Nick
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult is a great fit for a power hitter, as it has an end loaded swing weight. For a contact hitter, I'd recommend a balanced model, such as the 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult. Based on your size and age, I'd recommend a 33".
Katie
Do you think XL1 or the XL2 is better? A-a-ron
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult has an alloy barrel, where as the XL3 has a composite barrel. Both will perform well. It will just be a personal preference of whether you prefer alloy or composite. Composite does tend to be a little more durable, but it also requires a break-in period.
Tori
My son is 14 around 5'6" and 130 lbs. He is contact hitter with some power. What Easton bat would you recommend? Fern
If his is more of a contact hitter I would recommend any of the Easton S Series bats (S1, S2, S3) as they are more balanced for contact hitters.
Damon
Is there any difference between the 2012 XL2 and 2013 XL2 besides the color? Lt Dan
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult features upgraded composite material in the handle for better durability.
Kara
What is the difference between the first XL2 and this XL2? And which would you recommend? noah
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult features new composite material in the handle for better durability. The alloy used in the 2012 and 2013 alloy is the same. They will both be high performing.

Does this bat have 1.15 approved stamp on it? In my league a bat has to have that. Johnny Baseball
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR (BB13X2) Adult does not feature the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp. The XL2 (BB13X2) has the BBCOR .50 certification stamp that makes it legal for high school and college play.

I was thinking about getting this bat. I swing a -9 Voodoo. If I were to make a switch to this bat, how hard would it be to adjust and how top heavy is it? Luke99
The Easton XL2 BBCOR (BB13X2) Adult bat is an end loaded design. While your DeMarini Voodoo (DXVDR) Senior League bat is also a slightly end loaded model, it will be less noticeable than the XL2. Also, anytime you move from a -9 bat to a BBCOR -3 bat there will be a significant adjustment in weight. The end loaded design of the XL2 will make it feel just that much heavier during that adjustment phase.
