Description

Easton believes that every player should have the opportunity to hit for power, no matter what age or skill level. That's why they've brought back their groundbreaking Power Brigade line of bats for a second season. The concept behind the Power Brigade is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series and the Speed Series. This junior big barrel bat is part of the XL Series and focuses on building power by increasing the mass behind each swing. This is accomplished by creating a bat with a slightly heavier length to weight ratio, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot. This one-piece design is made from Easton's game-changing THT100 Scandium Alloy for unrivaled durability and an expanded sweet spot. If you want to generate more power with every swing, it's time to join the POWER BRIGADE! Easton: Personalize Your Power! The XL3 features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shpping!

Pros: This bat has pop, no sting, and it puts distance on the ball. When I hit grounders to my dad he couldn't even stop it. You could probably check swing and still put it in the outfield.

Cons: None.

Pros: Its got real good pop to it. The ball jumps off. My son loves it. And so do his teammates! It was delivered a day ahead of schedule. And i used next day air

Cons: It scratches easy. We used it for one tournament (3 games ) and top of bat has paint chipped. Wish they made it in around 28 in 17 ounce.

Pros: Bat has great pop. Does not sting the hands when you hit off the end or when jammed.

Cons: Not durable enough for travel ball players, bat will not make half a season. Multiple dents in first bp session with 8 year old swinging 28"/18 oz. Not near as durable as last years white XL3 model.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton XL3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: JBB13X3? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Can this bat be used for kidpitch ? hitman
No. All Junior Big Barrel bats are designed for coach pitch or machine pitch. If used in kid pitch, versus higher pitching velocities, the 2013 Easton XL3: JBB13X3 will be significantly less durable.
Tyler
What is the difference from last seasons XL3? Walkman
The 2013 Easton XL3 is going to use the same materials and same aluminum as the 2012 model. The difference is the color scheme and design.
Nick
What is the difference between this bat and the new Easton S3? Both are the same drop weight, and made from the same one piece alloy. James
The 2013 Easton XL3 is an end loaded bat and is better suited for power hitters. The 2013 Easton S3 has a balanced swing weight for faster bat speed and is usually preferred by contact hitters.
John
What's the difference between the 2013 XL3 vs last years bat? Kevin
There is not a difference in technology between the 2013 Easton XL3: JBB13X3 and the 2012 XL3.
Kara
Should this bat hold up in 10U kid pitch baseball or should I get the Easton S3? bigbacon
The 2013 Easton XL3: JBB13X3 Junior Big Barrel Bat is designed for players 8 and under. Junior Big Barrel bats are designed for coach pitch or machine pitch. The bat will not be as durable when used in kid pitch.
Aubrey
Does this bat come in -8? chad
Unfortunately, the Easton XL3 is not produced in a -8 model.
Tyler
Can you use this bat for machine pitch? Chandler
The 2013 Easton XL3: JBB13X3 Junior Big Barrel should not be used in machine pitch. It is designed for coach pitch. We recommend the Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League for machine pitch.
Kara
My son has both tbe xl3 and tbe s1 from last year. The white and black one. This yellow bat is same as last years white bat? Also iam looking for a compareable 27 inch bat that isnt a big barrel. I need some suggestions please. He is 7 and plays on an 8u usssa travel travel team. They play both coach and some player pitch. Please help me make up my mind... Almie
The 2012 Easton XL3 Junior Big Barrel and 2013 Easton XL3 Junior Big Barrel are constructed the same and there are no major changes. The most comparable youth small barrel bats available in a 27" model are the 2013 Easton Reflex: YB13RX, 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha: YB136 and Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior: YB12W.
Tyler
Is it a legal bat? Aaron
That's a difficult question to answer without knowing what league or association you are referring to...
Tyler
My son plays in an 8 and under machine pitch league that allows big barrel bats. The description says it's good for coach pitch. Will this hold up to machine pitch? marc
The 2013 Easton XL3: JBB13X3 Junior Big Barrel is good to use in coach pitch as well as machine pitch.
Marcus
My son is in coach pitch, is 7 years old, 54" tall, and weighs 90 lbs. What size bat would be good for him? KJK
I would recommend a 28" 2013 Easton XL3: JBB13X3 Junior Big Barrel.
Kevin
My son is in Coach Pitch. He is 7 years old, about 68 lbs. and 48" tall. I am trying to find out which bat would be perfect for him. I am looking for a bat that would supply him with good distance plus durability. I see this bat has good reviews. Please help! Lady
At his height and age he should be swinging a bat length of 28". There is a 28" in the 2013 Easton XL3: JBB13X3 Junior Big Barrel. Another good one to checkout would be this one: 2013 Easton S1: JBB13S1 Junior Big Barrel. It will actually swing lighter than the XL3. Both are great choices though.
Brandon
My 9 year old plays in a Kid Pitch league. He is 4' 6" and weighs 64 lbs. He is not allowed to use his Worth big barrel bat this year because it does not have the 1.15 stamp. Would this be a good choice? What size is right for him? Baseball Mom
The 2013 Easton XL3: JBB13X3 Junior Big Barrel is intended for Coach Pitch only, and the thinner walls will dent in a Kid Pitch League. We recommend a 29" for your son in a Youth Big Barrel bat, such as the 2013 Marucci Team: MSBT10 Black Senior League.
Katie
What is the difference between this bat and the SL13S310B? wsl
The 2013 Easton XL3: JBB13X3 Junior Big Barrel bat is designed for Coach Pitch leagues and has an extended barrel. The Easton S3 Senior League: SL13S310B bat has a balanced swing weight and is designed for older Youth leagues.
Mac
My son is 7 years old and is 49" tall and weighs 50 lbs. Is this a good bat for him and if so, what size? jojo
The 2013 Easton XL3: JBB13X3 Junior Big Barrel bat would be a good choice for a player his age. Our Bat Coach system suggests he use a 28" bat, but he could go up or down one inch if it is more comfortable.
Robert
My son is 7, 42 inches tall, and 50 lbs. He is a starter on his 9u travel team, which is kid pitch. Did I read this right that this bat should not be used? He used an Easton composite big barrel and liked it. Dan
The 2013 Easton XL3: JBB13X3 Junior Big Barrel is going to be for coach pitch only. You will need to get your son a youth big barrel bat to withstand kid pitches..
Noah
Are this 2013 Easton XL3: JBB13X3 Junior Big Barrel and the Easton V12 Junior Big Barrel the exact same bat with different paint schemes? Johnny Baseball
No. The Easton XL3 Junior Big Barrel will have a longer barrel and the Eastn V12 Junior Big Barrel will be more balanced.
Damon
Can this bat be used in Tee Ball? lynde
The 2013 Easton XL3: JBB13X3 has a 2 3/4" barrel diameter and is designed for Coach Pitch league. For questions concerning the legality of a bat, it is always best to contact a league director or coach. There are many variations to Tee Ball rules, so your particular league may, or may not, allow a bat with this 2 3/4" barrel diameter.
Mac
Is this bat legal in the Shetland division for Pony Baseball? JayPee619
The 2013 Easton XL3: JBB13X3 Junior Big Barrel bat is recommended for coach pitch leagues. I would check with your coach or league official to see if the bat is legal in your area.
Brandon
Is this a USSAA approved bat with their logo on it? BallMom
The 2013 Easton XL3: JBB13X3 Junior Big Barrel is has the USSSA 1.15 BPF on the bat.
Kara
I always see people complaining that these bats aren't durable. None of these bats are really designed for a ton of hits. I was wondering why there isn't something stated to separate game bats from BP bats. My son uses wood and an old t-ball bat for BP (same size as game bat), game bat for games. Keith B.
The 2013 Easton XL3: JBB13X3 Junior Big Barrel is just a coach pitch bat. It is not designed for kid pitch or many years of use. This bat will give the coach pitch hitter 1-2 solid years of performance.
Brandon
What size barrel is this bat? coach Sal
The Easton XL3 (JBB13X3) has a 2 3/4" barrel.
Kara
My son just made All Stars in 7-8 machine pitch. He has been using bats out of Wal-Mart and Dicks. I was wanting to get a good bat. He hits good now with a lot of power, but I just don't think he has the right bat. He is 52" tall and weighs about 65 lbs. What is a good and legal bat for him. He plays Dixie Youth ball. Thanks. JJ
The Easton XL3 (JBB13X3 Junior Big Barrel) will be made for Coach Pitch. If you need a bat certified for Dixie Youth play I would go with this model: 2014 Easton MAKO (YB14MK Youth).
Brandon
Difference between this bat and the COMBAT (PORSL210)? Is one better for coach pitch? Mike
The biggest difference between these two models is going to be the materials that are used in their construction. The 2014 COMBAT Portent XL Senior League Baseball Bat: (PORSL210) will incorporate 100% composite. This type of material does require a break-in, however, composite material does tend to continually expand during its lifetime. The THT100 Scandium Alloy used in the Easton XL3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: (JBB13X3) will be hot right out of the wrapper. This model will also incorporate an extended barrel. Both models are designed for coach pitch, and would work extremely well. Ultimately, it will come down to player preference as to which material is preferred.
Merritt
My son is moving up from tee ball to modified coach pitch. I want to get him a big barrel bat, which bat would you recommend for him. He is 5 playing 6U. Kade
The Easton XL3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (JBB13X3) is a great design for that style of play and age. If you can provide his height and weight we could suggest a more specific size for him.
Patrick
My son is 5 years old. He is 3'11" and 49 lbs. He plays in the Dizzy Dean League. What size bat does he need? Susie
For his size we would recommend a 27" bat. It looks like we no longer have the Easton XL3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (JBB13X3) in a 27" but we do have the Easton XL3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (JBB14X3).
Allison
My son is 3'10", 49 lbs. and almost 7 years old. He is an inexperienced player and has to play machine pitch due to new Little League rules. What size would you recommend for him? Lisa
For a player of that size, our bat coach would recommend the Easton XL3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (JBB13X3) in a 27" 17 oz. model. You could also consider the 2015 Louisville Slugger Omaha 515 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (YBO515X) in the 27" model which comes with a 30 day trial period.
Joe
My son is 3'6" 40 lbs. He is 5 years old. This is his second season playing coach pitch. He is using a 25" 15 oz. Easton. Any suggestions on a big barrel bat? jaysbat
The Easton XL3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (JBB13X3) or the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: (MJBBC6) are very popular bats for coach pitch. They are both fully alloy and will require no break-in period. Both would hit the ball exceptionally well in his sizing.
Brandon
My son is 7 years old 3'11" and 46 lbs. He plays 7U coach pitch baseball. I'm trying to decide between the XL3, the S3 and the Vexxum? boymom
For a player of his size, our bat coach would recommend the Easton XL3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (JBB13X3) in a 27" model. The DeMarini Vexxum Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVXY) will feature a two piece hybrid design that will help him have a little faster bat speed. The XL3 features a one piece alloy design with an end loaded swing weight. The 2015 Easton S3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (JBB15S3B) features a balanced one piece full alloy design. We would probably recommend the Vexxum or the S3.
Joe
My son is 7 years old, 4'1" and 55 pounds. He plays Shetland Coach Pitch. What bat would you recommend? He has a pretty aggressive swing. mike
The Easton XL3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (JBB13X3) would be a good option for your son. This bat is slightly end-loaded, which would be preferred by a power hitter.
Chinyere
My son is 6 years old, 3 foot 5 inches and is 45 pounds. What size bat would you recommend for him? Baller
Based on your sons height and weight we would recommend getting the Easton XL3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (JBB13X3) in a 26 inch.
Frankie
Do you have any other sizes? Ryan
Unfortunately, we currently only have the Easton XL3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (JBB13X3) in a 25" 15 oz. model.
Joe
Could this bat be used for machine pitch? connor
The Easton XL3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (JBB13X3) could be used for machine pitch with under 40 miles per hour pitch speeds.
Patrick
Will there be a 2016 XL3? emily
Easton changed from the Easton XL3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (JBB13X3) to the 2016 Easton S3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (JBB16S310B) but the design features are very similar.
