Pros: The Catalyst is a team favorite for my son's 9U travel team. Last year he used the 2013 29" bat, this year he got the 2014 30" bat. According to him, the new bat has significantly reduced vibration through the handle - and after break in, this bat appears to have all the pop that the 2013 had. This bat is more than a cosmetic upgrade from the 2013 from what we've seen so far. Can't wait for spring ball to start!!!
Cons: None so far!
Pros: Good Pop, for awhile.
Cons: IT WILL ABSOLUTELY BREAK, GUARANTEED. Same bat, I'm told, as last year's, with fresh paint. Bat is extremely endloaded. An inside pitch from a 9 y/o destroys this bat like a Mariano Rivera cutter. My son's broke twice and guess what, "[Replacement] bats fulfill the remainder of the original warranty." So you only get one. If you're looking to spend $200 a month on bats, then this is the one you want.
Pros: pretty good needs some work the 2014 demirian was the best
Cons: ss
Pros: Nice pop after break-in. Little to no Vibration. Balance point ideal for contact hitter needing speed through the zone. Used for 10U regular season and AllStars. Louisville Slugger warranty and replacement HUGE PLUS.
Cons: Bat will snap at transition from handle to barrel. Broke 2 within a 5 week period. Proper break-in was used and only used by 1 player.
Pros: Looks great
Cons: No durability! cracked within 90 days of receiving this bat which was a replacement for last years model which cracked also.
Pros: used a 28/16 for the taller kids on my team. about 5 different players used this bat for 16 games and it held up fine. great pop and light weight.
Cons: a little vibration.
Pros: pop is good, the bat did not brake and used 30/18. however the sound and pop did change 3/4 thru the season. the barrel got spongy and sound got muffeled. it did not brake however performance was reduced after 5000 plus hits if not more , tons of BP and games.
Cons: paint design not the best looking bat
Pros: Design and pop...helped my pint sized 9 yr old put the ball out there. I like the unique design and colors....stands out from others.
Cons: Price in 2014
Pros: Hot bat right out of package. Good balanced bat. Durable.
Cons: Seems to have lost some pop after one season. Kids complain of vibration as the bat has gotten older .
Pros: has great pop good for a 10u team
Cons: broke in 8 weeks i suggest you get this bat if you love apending money

About the Brand
In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.
After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.
The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.
The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.
Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
