Description

New for Many of the best teams in college and high school softball were swinging the Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno this past year! That's because they learned the old fashioned way which bat was the hottest: through thousands of hours of practice and play. The dedication that Louisville Slugger put in to create the Xeno design really shines through in this year's model, and it all starts with S1iD Technology. This technology actually allows the barrel to be tuned to exceed the legal ball exit speed ratio. The catch is that a governor is placed inside that allows the barrel to flex to its MAXIMUM allowable performance from SWING 1. The Xeno is made from Louisville Slugger's innovative new LS 2X Composite, yet due to the S1iD technology, it needs ABSOLUTELY ZERO BREAK-IN! The Xeno features an iST design that gives this bat a solid connection between the barrel and handle. iST provides players a bat with a solid feel and HUGE sweetspot, while absorbing vibrations from mis-hit balls before they reach the hands. With a tacky synthetic grip a 7/8 inch handle, the Xeno will give players absolute control at the plate. If you are a fastpitch player looking for THE top-of-the-line bat this season, look no furthur than the TPS Xeno! Louisville Slugger: In a Class Above Any Other! The Xeno is approved by ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA and ISF. This bat comes with a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Great Bat, we had the 2012 model in a 32" and decided we needed the 33", we received the bat the day after it was ordered! My daughter had a doubled header the day we received and hit her first highschool ball over the fence!!! Money well spent!

Pros: Bat has the same Xeno cracking sound as the previous years. I personally like it. The bat was hot right out of the wrapper. The ball flies off this thing. My daughter loves it and all the kids with the black Xenos are jealous now cause they love the new design.

Cons: I just bought this bat for my daughter and now I want to get her a OneX and my wife is gonna kill me if I do. I guess I'll wait till spring.. ;)

Pros: My daughter was playing a team and their 3rd batter had this bat. They have played this team before and this girl was not a big power hitter. She had this bat and the first pitch our pitcher threw, she smacked and got a homerun!

Pros: This bat has amazing pop and has a large sweet spot. The "breaking glass" sound the bat makes is sure to turn heads.

Cons: This is a warm weather bat, it loses some of its explosiveness in cool weather.

Pros: I researched composite bats for 3 months, before buying my daughters third bat since she was 13. By far this is the best bat she ever had. I have taken her to the bat wars events by the manufacturers, where she has tried 15-20 bats. This is by far the best bat she has ever swung. If your daughter is still playing rec ball, this is not the bat for her. The swing is the key to this bat, if the daughter is not taking lessons then you're wasting your money on this type of bat. To get the most out of this bat, the player must have a disciplined, consistent swing. The older and bigger your daughter is, the better this bat is for her. It is more suited for older, bigger players. The example is my daughter, who is 16 and 5' 9' tall weighing 129 lbs. She swings the biggest, heaviest bat Louisville makes for this model. Very pricey bat. Bless you parents who back your daughters with this type of equipment. I hope this helps in your decision.

Cons: None.

Pros: I purchased the 2013 -10 XENO due to my 8 Year Old daughters 2012 -11 CF5 busted. The XENO has great POP and the attention getting sound of a XENO.

Cons: Bat is not Nearly as balanced as a CF5, it has more of an End-Load Feel. This Bat is awesome, but will require some work to get back to a smooth Swing. Its all about Wrist Strength with the smaller girls with Bats that are not "Balanced".

Pros: Great bat! My daughter is 16. She's a power hitter and usually gets some good hits. The bat was good to go right out of the box. She loves the pop and hit three home runs the first weekend she used it!

Cons: The only thing I would change is the white grip. It was dirty and dingy after a couple uses.

Pros: Since we bought our first, the 2011 Xeno, we've been extremely pleased with the line. After a very successful year with the Xeno 2012, we moved up to the onex last year. My daughter hit a ball 40 feet further than her previous 220 ft shots. She got her first hit as varsity player with the 2013 replacement for the onex. She absolutely did not want to give up the onex. The bat endured repeated poundings by her and a friend without breaking. She's very happy with the 2013 Xeno. Her 34" 26oz bat swings much lighter and feels propely balanced. There's no vibration even when the temps drop near the low temp end for the bat. She loves the sound. She's looking forward to testing the 2014 Onex when she gets one this July 2013!!! We can't to see what inovations it will bring to the games. It will be her fifth bat.

Cons: None!!!

Pros: It hits almost as hard as the 201w

Cons: I had my bat for four weeks (about thirteen games including two tournaments, averaging three at bats a game so no more than thirty-nine at bats) and my bat broke in half hitting the pitcher at my first plate appearance so the durability of the bat is not as high as the old xeno from 2012 (which lasted me for a full season before cracking but never fully breaking in half

Pros: Hot out of the box, attractive graphics. My 13 year old had 2 of the 2012 models in 32" 22 oz. & 33" 23 oz. Lots of power, lots of bat speed, lots of batting practice, and lots of games on them. Love the product and results.

Cons: Bought a 2013 model on Saturday Feb. 23, broke in half on second at bat Sunday the 24th. Sent bat back on Feb 27 and got a receipt of delivery on March 1. On March 9, got a "denied" delivery notice. Never received packaging or bat back. Now no one wants to respond at all. Had bat for less than 24 hrs before it broke, going into the third month waiting for replacement.

Pros: This an update on the Xeno. I am purchasing a second bat for my daughter. This time around she is getting a -9 (34/25), at her request. She used her last one approximately 2 years and a couple odd months, before she broke it during a game. She will not use any other bat except the Xeno. I would like to again advise parents, do not purchase this bat unless your daughter is playing at high school/elite level. You'll be wasting your time and money doing this. My daughter has been using composites like this for 5 years now. I'll be the first one to tell you, I wasted my time and money going this route. It wasn't till she started getting lessons at 14 that things sunk in and she started understanding the benefits of the Xeno.

Pros: Got this bat after the OneX which I loved as much as my daughter, it was recalled. My daughter is 9. She is 5' tall but only about 80 lbs. Small frame. She hit the top of the 200' fence and almost went over. This bat is Hot but I believe the OneX would have been 20 yards over the fence. Pop Pop... Fizz MizzwhoMiss player

Pros: Nothing as hot as this right out of the wrapper. It is not, contrary to popular opinion, 100% composite. This bat has alloy discs which is why it doesnt take any break in time. It also has the most flex of any bat on the market period. Basically a one piece that's been cut in half and sealed together with rubber. I've never swung anything so responsive. This bat will give your girl confidence, those first at bats will blow your mind...

Cons: Most expensive half-a-season bat you'll ever buy. It breaks. It breaks it breaks. It also is not "balanced". Part of the key to the power of this bat is that the weight is not evenly distributed. Gives even girls like me, who are mostly just contact hitters, a lot of extra "umph". So, not balanced, super breakable, tends to rattle, and die.

Pros: I love the "pop" that this bat makes. It surly does turn heads. I swing a 25 ounce. It feels like I am swinging at nothing at all. There is no vibration when I hit the ball at the end of the bat.

Cons: In November of 2012 I got the 2012 version of the Xeno. In December I traded it in for a different weight, and because they didn't make the 2012 anymore they gave me a 2013. I used the bat for 2 games (about 8 at Bats) and it started to rattle. I got through the season with it. Then I sent it back to get replaced.I got it back in September. I got a new 2013 bat and didn't take it out of the wrapper till January of 2014. I went to an inside Softball practice and at my second practice the bat is now bent at close to a 45 degree angle, not broken, but bent. Time for a new bat…. again!

Pros: This is the best bat I ever had. I have had Demarini, Easton, Worth, and Boombah. I have it home runs with the Xeno bat but the other bats didn't have that good of pop to them as the Xeno has. After I got up to bat the first time I hit a home run, and after that at bat the coaches told the players in the outfield to back up. For being a older bat it is better than the new bats that I have seen.

Cons: They don't make this Xeno bat anymore, and it is the far best Xeno bat they have made so far.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP13X? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Other than color/graphics, what is the difference between the 2012 Xeno and 2013 fastpitch bats? SBDad
The only difference between the 2012 XENO and the 2013 XENO is the graphics and the color.
Kara
My daughter is looking for 33" drop 8. Will you be offering the FP13X in that size? Sluggerdaddy
The -8 version of the Xeno will be model number FP13X8. It will be available within the next few weeks.
Tyler
Does this bat have the new approval that is needed for 2013? Bob
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno has the new USSSA stamp for 2013.
Kara
Are the 2012 going to have the official stamps that are required on all bats for the upcoming year? All_around_sports_mom
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno that was just released has all the stamps required to make it legal for play and the newest USSSA stamp.
Tom
Is the 32" going to be available in any other weights than a drop 10? Nikki
Unfortunately, the 32" 2013 Xeno will only be available in a -10.
Tyler
I have the 2012 model. Did the bat actaully change any from last years model and if so what were the major changes? coach jeff
Both the 2012 and 2013 models of the Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno are two-piece designs and feature the S1 iD technology, so the pop off the bat will be very similar.
Tom
Is this bat considered endloaded? is it very comparable to the cf5 weight balance? which would be a better bat between the 2, for a smaller hitter, looking for the advantage of the technological "pop!" adam
Both the Xeno and CF5 (the Insane model not included) are balanced bats and comparable in swing weight. Both are great bats that offer tremendous pop. The biggest difference is the flex in the bats. The Xeno is stiffer, while the CF5 has just a little more flex. It comes down to the personal preference of player.
Tyler
Will the 2013 be offered in a 34" 25 oz.? Sixer

What is the differance between the FP12X and the FP13X? renegademb
The 2012 Louisville FP12X and 2013 Louisville FP13X are made from the same composite material and feature the same construction and technology. Really they're the same, just different paint jobs.
Tyler
Does this bat pass all of the new rules and regulations? Can it be used past 2013 season? softball 3
That all depends on what association or league you play in as not everybody abides by the same set of bat rules. I recommend contacting our customer support team at 1-866-321-2287.

When will the -9 be released. My 2012 -9 is dead and I am holding out for the 2013 but I am in the thick of high school season and do not know how much longer I can wait! softball8

My daughter is 5'6" and 135 pounds. I am not sure what bat to go with or what size. The 2013 Xeno, RIP-IT Prototype, or DeMarini CF5? What bat is going to get the best distance? JJ
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno, 2013 RIP-IT Prototype, and the DeMarini CF5 are all great bats that have a lot of pop and have very good durability. Their performance is going to be the same since they are all top of the line bats that are very high performing. The DeMarini CF5 and the TPS Xeno are both composite bats and the RIP-IT is an aluminum bat.
Nick
My daughter is 10 and plays select fast pitch, what size bat would she use? She is currently using a 32 inch length. Mad
In a 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno: FP13X Fastpitch she should be swinging a 30"-31" model.
Brandon
On August 27th a question was asked and answered regarding the differences between the FP12x and the FP13x in which only the paint job was different between the two. What about differences between the FP11x and the FP12x/FP13x? Is the technology the same but only the color scheme different? Daughter loves her FP11x and grew, so she needs to size up. Are these bats designed and perform the same with just the color schemes changing? TSR
The technology of the Xeno has not changed. The color scheme is the only change over the last two years.
Kara
What is the difference between the Xeno and the oneX? Brett
The main difference between the Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno and Louisville Slugger TPS oneX is the transition. The oneX uses the new T squared transition. Many players have said the new transition is more firm and feels stronger in the swing. They also felt like it gave them a little more power. If you can imagine the Xeno transition is more like a "ball-and-socket" connection, while the T squared transition is more of a straight "T" connection that makes it stiffer.

I am looking to order my 12 year old daughter this bat. She is 5'6" and weighs about 125 pounds. She is currently swinging a 32" 22 oz. 2012 Xeno and I am thinking I should go up to the 33" 23 oz. What would you suggest? Brittany

Doug F.
Many people have said this bat is ready to go right out of the wrapper. Is there still a break in time or is it truly ready to go? softballzoo
Composite bats do require a break-in period in order to ensure maximum performance and durability. A good break-in consists of approximately 150-200 hits off a tee or soft-toss rotating the barrel a quarter inch between each hit to ensure an even break-in.
John H
My 12-year-old used a team-mates bat this weekend during her tournament and laced a line drive into right center on just her second pitch... We wanna buy her one for Christmas. But first, can you please help us understand the differences between what weight-drops are ? Our daughter is 12 years old, 5 ft 3 inches, 110 LBS.... Can you help ? Mom and Dad
The drop, or length to weight ratio, is the numerical difference between the length and weight of the bat. For instance, a 32" -12 bat weighs 20 oz. A 32" -11 bat weighs 21 oz. A 32" -10 bat weighs 22 oz. etc...
Tyler

Most will say the oneX feels a little lighter with a more balanced swing weight compared to the Xeno. The CF5 is also a balanced bat similar to the oneX.
John

Based on her height and weight, we recommend a 30" 20 oz. 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno: FP13X.
Kara
My daughter is 11 years old , 5' and about 90 lbs. She swings the 2011 Xeno 31/21 right now. We bought her the 2012 Xeno 32/22 for Christmas. Is that size really too large for her? And should we wait until next year? What do you recommend? #3 mom
Based on her height and weight we recommend a 31" 21 oz. 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno: FP13X . A great way to determine the correct size for your daughter every year is our bat coach; http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/.
Kara
My daughter is 10 years old and is 4'8" tall and weighs 136 lbs. What size bat do you recommend? She currently swings a 31" 22 oz. Anderson RockeTech. The Anderson is end loaded so it is a little heavy feeling for her. NB

Aubrey
My daughter has this bat and it has cracked. She has only had it for 3 months, can it be replaced? What is the process, what is needed? Shelly
For all warranty inquiries, please contact our Customer Support Team at 1-866-321-2287.
Tyler
What temperature can this bat be used at? Fast
Typically you wouldn't want to play in weather any colder than 50 degrees. Anything colder than that, then the risk is much higher of cracking the bat.
Derek
What is the difference between the 2013 Xeno and the oneX? Which bat has more pop? alex
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno: FP13X features the iST Technology two-piece design while the 2013 TPS oneX features the upgraded T2 two-piece design. Performance for both bats will be very similar.

Chad M.
I bought the FP136-33 ONEX for my daughter in High School. She heard the bat may be banned since it cracks too easy and may be defective. Have you heard this? She understands Louisville Slugger may replace the bat. Chris
Yes we are aware of the issue with the 2013 Louisville Slugger OneX. What you can do is send it back to Louisville and they will replace it with the Xeno and your choice of: 1. A glove or bag with an $80 retail value. 2. A $50 stored value gift card that works just like cash. 3. A 2014 OneX or equivalent bat that will ship in August. You could also ship the bat back to us and we will send you a Xeno as well and credit the differences back, but we will not send you a 2014 OneX when it arrives.
Noah
Do you have this bat in stock? I am looking for a 34 inch and 24 oz weight. Having a hard time finding this bat. Larry
Yes, we have the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno: FP13X Fastpitch bat in stock in the 34" 24 oz. model. We run a live inventory, so what is listed on the website is what we have in stock.
Aubrey
My daughter is swinging a 33" drop -9 RockeTech (she likes it and moved up from a 31" drop -9 RT), but she needs an alternate, more balanced swing point. She hit the OneX and loved it, is the Xeno same balance point? Or is there another bat you would recommend? CasTed
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno: FP13X Fastpitch will have a very similar feel to the OneX and the balance is nearly identical. If your daughter loved the OneX, she should feel the same about the Xeno.
Kevin
Can you hit softies and weighted balls with the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno: FP13X Fastpitch? ringo
We recommend limiting the use of weighted training balls with any bat. They are much more dense than game softballs and could shorten the life of the bat.
Mac
What steps do I need to follow to return a defective Xeno bat that I purchased for Christmas 2012 Jennifer
You will need to have either the emailed receipt, or the one that came with the bat. If neither is available, just contact us at 1-866-321-2287 to email another copy. Then you would need to contact Louisville at 1-800-282-2287 for the return and replacement of your Xeno.
Derek

Kara
Are other color options of the Xeno available other than blue? Can the white grip be changed out to a different color? ice
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno: FP13X Fastpitch only comes in the blue color. We do not alter the bat in any way. If you would like a different grip color, you would have to do that yourself.
Marcus
Can you buy this in 33" or 34" -10? Also can it be made as an end weighted bat? I would purchase this now if it was a 34" -10 end weighted bat. Let me know. Jack

The materials and construction of the Xeno look very similar to the TPS M2 Pride. Besides the drop, are there any significant differences between the two bats? Frank
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno: FP13X and 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS M2 Pride: FP13M2 will both be two-piece, fully composite bats which feature the LS-2X composite. The Xeno features iST two-piece technology and the S1iD technology which eliminates a break in period.
Mac
Is the 2013 Xeno a good bat for a power hitter? Madison

Chad M.

The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno is what Louisville has been replacing the Louisville One X with.
Chad M.
Is the 2013 Xeno NSA and USSSA approved for 2013 year? Joey
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno: FP13X Fastpitch bat does possess the new NSA and USSSA approval stamps for the 2013 year.
Robert
Why can we not get the 33" 23 oz. Xeno? The Louisville website even says it is discontinued. Alvin
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno: FP13X Fastpitch bat is a discontinued model and is no longer being produced. The next model bat in that line will be the 2014 oneX which is scheduled to be released this fall.
Mac
Umpires would not allow daughter to use her 2013 XENO because it is cracked. She thought it had lost it's pop and was broken but loves it and still wanted to use it until it totally died. So, it is still under warranty for another month. I looked at your site and several others as well as Louisville site and it looks like they are out of stock and not being made. How will they honor this warranty and I wonder how long it will take to replace the broken bat? Daughter is disappointed because season is just gearing up. Number 03
The time it takes to replace a bat under warranty varies week by week and even day by day. I recommend contacting our Customer Support Team at 1-866-321-2287.
Tyler
I am confused here. The 2013 is now discontinued? J
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno: FP13X Fastpitch is discontinued. However, we will be receiving a limited supply in the next two weeks.
Kara
My granddaughter is 12 years old and has been using her friends Xeno 34/24. She's about 150 lbs. so she has some power. If she makes contact, the ball flies, if not strikes out. I'm trying to buy her a Xeno bat and would like your suggestion if the 34/24 is too heavy for her. Grandma
If she is stronger than average and has good swing speed with her friend's 34" 24 oz. Xeno, then she would be just fine sticking with a 34" 24 oz. 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno: FP13X.
Tyler
I got my Xeno two years ago. I love the bat, but a lot of people have been telling me that it is broken. It has a distinct sound but that's how all the Xeno bats sound. How can I tell whether or not my bat is dead? Morgan
There's no sure-fire way, but if you noticed the sound is not right or different from what it used to be, then it may be dead. You'll also see a significant drop in performance as a dead bat will not have the original pop. Also, I would look closely for hairline cracks and look and feel for small dents as well as the end cap to see if it is loose or cracked.
Tyler
My daughter has one of these 2013 Xeno bats. It's a demo and was given to her by a college team that uses it for batting practice. It has a bad rattle to it like a can of spray paint. It is a hot bat right now but is there anything I can do to it to stop the rattle in it? Like pop the end cap off and remove the rattling. Someone told me to stuff it with cotton balls and glue it back on. What do you think? dada
I would not mess with any part of the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno: FP13X Fastpitch bat. If you take the end cap off it will damage the bat. Just because there is a rattle does not mean the bat's performance will suffer. The manufacturer reps. have mentioned that to us many times here. I would leave it be.
Brandon
Do you have this bat in stock, XENO 33/23? d
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno: FP13X Fastpitch is available in a 33" 23 oz.
Kara
I have the 2012 Louisville Slugger Xeno, 33" 23 oz. and when I shake it, it makes a rattle sound inside. The Endcap seems tight. Should I start looking for a new bat? dawg
It seems like it has been damaged in some way. If it is still covered under the 12 month manufacture warranty I would call Louisville Slugger at 800-282-2287. If it has been longer then that then I would look into the new 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno: FP13X Fastpitch.
Chad M.
Do you have this bat in stock: Xeno 34/26? Madrid
This bat, the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno: FP13X Fastpitch bat, is a -10 model. We do currently have the -8 TPS Xeno: FP13X8 available in the 34" 26 oz. model: http://www.justbats.com/product/2013-louisville-slugger-tps-xeno--fp13x8-fastpitch/16485/

Kara

We don't have the specifications for the new LXT or Xeno yet, but the bats will be in stock in August.
Noah
My daughter is 15, 5' 4", and weighs 130 lbs. What size do you recommend? Will this bat have a good strong result even on a bad hit? SB4EVER
Based off of your daughters size she should be using a 32" bat, but we only have the 33" Xeno in stock. The bat is top of the line, so you will not find a bat that performs higher.
Noah
Will there be a 33" 24 oz. -9 in the 2014 Xeno? If so, why can I not find it when trying to pre order one? Peppers
There will be a -9 2014 Xeno. We don't have an exact release date on the bats yet, so we will not start prebooking them at this time.
Noah
I'm looking for a 2013 TPS Xeno. Do you have any 32" 22 oz.? Any idea when the 2014 Xeno bat will be released? tom
We are currently out of stock in the 2013 TPX Xeno in the 32" 22 oz. size. We will not be getting any more until the expected release date of the 2014 models on 11-1-2013.

The Xeno is also a -10 length to weight ratio, whereas the M2 Pride is lighter at a -12.
Katie
Is this bat legal for Misshsaa slow pitch? jj
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno: FP13X Fastpitch bat is made for women's fastpitch softball. I would check with your league official or coach to see if you can use fastpitch bats in your slow pitch league.
Brandon
What is the difference between a composite bat and an aluminum bat if their the same ounces? bri
Composite bats will require a break in period while alloy bats are hot right out of the wrapper. We recommend around 150 swings off the tee or soft toss and make sure you rotate the barrel a quarter of an inch every 15 swings. Composite bats once broken in will generally out perform the alloy barrel bats.
John
Why can't I find a 2013 30/20 blue Xeno bat? mike
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno: FP13X Fastpitch is a discontinued model and is no longer in production because the 2014 models are available. It will most likely be tough finding the 30" 20 oz. model of the 2013. Most retailers will have sold most of their stock of 2013 models, and we unfortunately only have the 33" left.
Mac
Is the 2013 TPS Xeno approved for the new 2014 USSSA rule? No one seems to be able to tell me. Nanette
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno (FP13X) is approved in USSSA for 2014.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
