Description

The Gen-X2 is no exception to Louisville Slugger's long and storied history of producing incredible bats. Made from Louisville's X-1 Composite, the Gen-X2 will take a player's game to the next level. The X-1 Composite features multiple layers of aerospace grade graphite and S-glass fibers. These materials are embedded in a specially designed toughened epoxy resin that gives the Gen-X2 superior durability. Each layer is precisely positioned at an angle determined by Louisville Slugger's computer-designed pattern. This results in a bat with the optimum combination of performance and durability. This high performance is even further enhanced by the MONSTER 2 3/4 inch barrel on the Gen-X2. The size of the barrel is impressive, but when players experience the size of the sweetspot, it'll be clear that this is a whole new ball game! Everything from the bat design to the equipment used to manufacture the bat was developed by the Louisville Slugger Composites R&D Lab. Controlling every aspect of design and manufacturing ensures that every bat is consistently produced to Louisville Slugger's high quality standards. The Gen-X2 is backed by a Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: I've never seen a barrel this big before . We bought a 29 19 oz . My son is 9 and he said is it to big to play with , LOL. Hit off of T last night with due to being dark . Going to practice tonight and let everyone know how it hits.

Cons: Hopefully it is what you pay for .

Pros: Barrel size is unreal. Hard to miss with this baby. Pop is good, grip is standard Louisville, pretty decent balance. My son has been hitting very well with this monster. Great bat for the price if you need a 2 3/4 inch barrel!

Cons: Colors aren't all that flattering, however we haven't seen any chips yet so at least it's quality.

Pros: I just wanted to add to my earlier comments. The more my son swings this bat the better he and I both like it. After about 300 hits, good ball contact sounds like a rifle shot. It also cleans up great with warm water and a soft cloth.

Cons:

Pros: This bat has a lot of pop right out of the wrapper, I know a lot of people say that about other bats but this one really does. My son just used it last weekend at a tourney and was banging them deep all weekend long. Buy it and you wont be sorry.

Cons: None

Pros: Excelente bate!

Cons: Ninguno.

Pros: BIG barrel, nice balance and a ton of pop. My 10 year old has no issues with the 30/20. Loves that bat and the distance.

Cons: Top tape (electric?) wrap starting to peel a little. Nothing that can't be fixed though. Other kids WILL want to use this bat :)

Pros: I purchased this on Thur, recieved on Sat. On Sun, my 11 year old hit his 1st HR ever...and the bat isn't even broke in yet. 31/21 perfect for him and his 11u travel league. 99.99 is a steal.

Cons: Typical Louisville Slugger grip tape that I don't like, but I knew that going into it.

Pros: Bought this bat for 12yr old boy. Love it! He just used in a tournament and the pop right away was excellent. Became team bat for the whole weekend, another team from our home town used the bat too and knocked a homer over the fence (11yr old girl). If you don't have it get it!!

Cons: None

Pros: Instantly started hitting with it after a slump. Balls that would be easy outs are finding the outfield. It has become a team favorite.

Cons: So far the four HR's it has produced were by other kids. It will come though!

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
