Pros: I have had this bat for two weeks now and it is one of a kind. We used to swing coach pitch but decided to try this one due to the weight. It feels much more durable than coach pitch bats of the past, and appears to have similar pop. Price is fair compared to other Big Barrel bats. No complaints so far from my 10 year old.
Cons: None so far
azdad
Pros: Excellent bat for a smaller framed player. My 10 year old can really get this -12 bat around.
Cons: Little pricey, shouldn't use in most batting cages.
natecastro
Pros: Great bat. Very solid feel and excellent sounding pop. Great end dampening and no paint issues yet.
Cons: None
Anonymous
Pros: Light weight with great pop. Our team likes it so much we got it in 29/17, 30/18, 31/19 & 32/20. maximum length with minimum weight = bat speed
Cons: Every one wants to use it!
thundermom
Pros: this bat is AWESOME...my son & his team-mates love it...the sound is great as well as the feel. i got the 30/18 for my 9yr old who is a bit bigger than average & his smaller framed friends use it as well & adapted to it immediately
Cons: everyone in the team wants to use it instead of buying their own!!!!!
hot hitter
Pros: The bat is definitely designed for smaller and lighter hitters. Ball explodes off the bat.
Cons: My son is 9 years old and about 65 lbs. The bat cracked after only about 20 pitches. I give it a minus 2 for durability. Waiting to get the warranty replacement.
Anonymous
Pros: My son loves his bat. He plays Elite level 11u and is only 76 lbs and the drop 12 allows him to use longer bat while still create bat speed. With the new bat rules the Triton is the best -12 on the market.
Cons: Only con is that everyone on the team wants to use it.
Rob
Pros: None
Cons: Cracked in half after less than 20 swings.
Trav
Pros: Excellent contact on the ball and lasts.
Cons: Can't use it in batting cages or cold weather according to the pros.
Graysonaeros1
Pros: This bat has the largest drop weight allowed. It is solid and has a great feel to it. Perfect bat for the player that dosen't have the fastest bat speed. Ball flys off the bat and has a large sweet spot.
Cons: None so far.
BIG DOG
Pros: BEST BAT IN THE WORLD
Cons: NONE
Hater
Pros: NONE
Cons: It is light, but a terrible bat with no pop. DO NOT BUY THIS BAT!
Bearcat Dad
Pros: 6 year old coach pitch team loves this bat (27/15). Between this and it's more expensive brother it's all we use.
Cons: Only gave it 4 stars because a 6 yr. old doesn't have the power to see what the bat can do. If it was 25% less expensive I would've bought (2).
Doug
Pros: Light awing weight is great for smaller players. Bat has great bat too.
Cons: none
Legend
Pros: starting to get great pop after very little use. my son is 9, but only 4 feet tall and 56 lbs and he gets around pretty well with this bat. great looking bat as well. have the 28/16
Cons: pricey. black paint on small part of bat starting to chip. NO BIG DEAL
Ewa Thunder
Pros: I was surprised how hot it was out of the wrapper. Great pop. I recommend this bat for the smaller player.
Cons:
GrainValleyBandits
Pros: Sick bat. Moved my son from a TPX Omaha (which we loved) to the trition which is 1 in longer and 1 oz lighter. Batspeed is way up. Ball jumps (we have over 500 swings in with no problem with cracks)
Cons: None. I love it.
Okie
Pros: Keeps getting better and with the -12 even the smaller kids swing it.
Cons: None other than cost
rj'sdad
Pros: lightweight
Cons: Just purchased bat three weeks ago and the bat cracked in half while my son was batting with it in a game. Terrible bat for the price. Very disappointed. No pop either.
Coach Mac
Pros: 9 year can get this bat through the strike zone. Machine pitch 40 MPH. Great big sweet spot. It is the kid swinging the bat, but all things being equal, he really gets this bat around much better than his 27 17 Easton.
Cons: 250 bucks. Hard to teach my little guy the value of a buck when I drop this kind of cash on his bat.
Sooner
Pros: Looks nice
Cons: My 9 year old broke this bat in 3 weeks. For $249.00, i expected more.
Anonymous
Pros: Excellent bat for the younger players. The -12 allows the younger kids to use a longer bat without sacrificing bat speed.
Cons:
Coach BC
Pros:
Cons: My son used this bat during a hitting expo (indoors). He hit it very well. We purchased it and used it outside 60 degree weather for 2 months and now it sounds like a broken tree branch. For $250 we should get more value for our money. Dont buy this unless you are rich!
mississippi baseball
Pros: lightweight
Cons: no pop in bat. after 4 months of owning bat and everyone on team trying it bat never got hot. would not recommend.
batman
Pros: This bat has a huge sweetspot. Doesnt hurt your hands if you hit it off the handle or end of the bat. Hits are solid
Cons: I had one of the earlier tritons and it just broke after 2 years. Many of my teammates had tritons and they all broke within a year of buying it. It lost a lot of its pop pretty quick.Ive hit 3 home runs with it but i expected a lot more.
Dale
Pros: Great bat so far. Not many swings and already has a lot of pop. The -12 is great.
Cons:
Ftft
Pros: dude in one game I hit 100 home runs beast bat
Cons: none dude totally awsome
goneyard
Pros: awesome pop, increased bat speed. My boy loved this bat. Had to have 1000 or more solid hits off it before it snapped in two.
Cons: seeing my 9yr old son cry out on the field after hitting a ball on the end and snapped it in two.
lj
Pros: really good bat your kids
Cons:
Bdog
Pros: This bat has AMAZING pop easily hitting the ball out of the infield! The -12 length to weight ratio helps with great bat speed. With the price of the bat DROPING 100 DOLLARS this bat could easily be the best bat on the market!!!! !!!buy this bat for ur kids!!!
Cons: I used the the triton 1,three piece bat and had amazing pop. I was a little mad that they changed the model but makes no difference!!!!!!
Smooth
Pros: Light Weight for faster bat speed.
Cons: Needs The Bigger Barrel 2 3/4 like the older Tritons those were great bats!!!
Titan nation
Pros: great balance and feel perfect bat for my small 10 year old
Cons: none
G
Pros: Great bat.Lots of pop.
Cons: None
Aaron
Pros: Its nice to get the -12 in a Senior League bat. Pop is ok, hopefully gets better once it is broken in.
Cons: Doesn't seem to have the pop i was looking for, in the bats defense my boy has only hit couple hundred balls with it. If the pop comes around i would give it 5 stars.
Andy M
Pros: Just got this bat and it's very good. Everyone wants to use it has a just pop, sweat spot.
Cons: None

IowaCoach
Pros: Great bat for my 8 year old son, good pop and easy to swing!
Cons:
number16sdad
Pros: Great pop and weight distribution. He hasn't had it long enough to comment on the durability. The break-in was easy 300 balls off a tee from "number 16" and twice I hit infield to the boys.
Cons: I didn't buy it earlier in the season.
11U player
Pros: Im a power hitter that went from gettin fly outs in the outfield to smackin them over the fence in no time. This bat way better than my demarini voodoo.
Cons: None.
Dave
Pros: Worked great, then it cracked three games into use
Cons:
SilverSlugger
Pros: The bat looks nice and has an average pop
Cons: A Kid on my team used it three times, he hit a homerun and then another homerun, and after the 2nd homerun on the third at bat the bat split in half and went flying back to the pitcher
justa_mi_gal
Pros: So far my 10 year old using the 30/18 has hit a few singles but for the first time ever he hit a HOME RUN. He loves the bat. He said it feels good in his hands and when he is swinging he can easily bring it around. He plays on a 10U travel team.
Cons: The only con, he does not like the tape used for the grip says it feels funny. So the coach will be retaping.
bigp
Pros: great pop, nice sound, light
Cons: none
JP
Pros: Great pop! Not even 100 hits on the bat and my kid is crushing the ball. Put this bat up against anyother. Great price!
Cons: None.
Mr B.
Pros: Bat is light and after 100 hits (breaking in) seemed to have more pop...prior to 100 hits...disappointed in pop. Purchased 30" 18oz, 2 5/8. pReviously, owned 2 3/4, 28" 18oz and this had plently of pop. Maybe adding one more ounce to the 30", 18oz would add more pop. Overall son (10 years old) likes design and feel/pop and other kids on team use the bat.
Cons:
Mr hockey
Pros: Good pop ,great balance
Cons: Nothing great bat
Anonymous
Pros: Good pop ,great balance

SuperMario
Pros: Just got this bat and my son really likes it. Bat has good pop. Fly Balls are higher and further grounders are faster and stronger than previous 30 in. 17 oz Warrior my son was using.
Cons: Wont get to put it to use in live action until upcoming fall season.
808boyz
Pros: I like to use reviews for my choices in purchasing expensive bats. So I will be honest! I brought 2 of these bats for my son and step-son. My 8yr old is about 65lbs so I got him a 28-16oz. My step son is 9yrs old and 79lbs so I got him a 30-18oz. The bat has a really good pop if your kid can hit the ball. Good enough that almost all the kids on the team used it. I was worried about the durability because the whole team was using it. But it lasted the whole season from start to finish and is ready for next season. I can't wait to see the performance next season. Also this bat was $250 when I brought it.
Cons: None yet
Anonymous
Pros: Nice price
Cons: Cracked after about 2weeks
Jonesy
Pros: Light, no sting, easy to swing, and new USSSA stamp.
Cons: Everyone wants to use it.
Coach Dad
Pros: My son hit the ball well first time out. I threw about 150 pitches and the bat looked like it was already broken in right out of the wrapper. My son really likes the weight and feel of the bat. He just went up from a 30/18 Easton S1 to the 31/19 Triton 2. I was definitely impressed with what I saw from this bats performance
Cons: None so far.
mizunoboy4
Pros: Good sweet spot. Great for smaller players. Warranty exchange process is easy.
Cons: Broke in half third game of season.
Coach
Pros: This was for my 10 yr old and it has lots of pop right out of the box

Cons:
jeff
Pros: Great bat at first good pop;great weight to length. My kid loved it.
Cons: bat cracked after just 2 months of light use. And it cracked on the sweet spot.
Rob
Pros: My son used this bat an entire AAA Traveling season. No dents, cracks or other issues. He is a trim lad and could really gets some bat speed from this -12. Used it in the cages several times with no issues. I may upgrade to a larger -12, but may try to get another season out of it if he doesn't grow too much. Buy this bat!
Cons: Your sons teammates will want to use it!!!
Coach J
Pros: Best bat my son has ever used. Love the -12 bat speed plus amazing pop.
Cons: None so far.
RSDAD
Pros: First 3 hits on this bat were all home runs.

nzdad
Pros: My son plays on a 10u travel team and bought bat late in year and is approximately 80 lbs. Bat broke in around 200-300 hits. The -12 drop is nice for smaller players and has a great sweet spot. We bought the 30/18 version of the bat
Cons: Bat broke in half a few weeks ago at around 300 hits. Thought it would last longer. Luckily the bat has a 1 year warranty for the return.
Snake an
Pros: My son is small body wise so this bat is light enough and has a nice pop. My son is very happy with this bat. Big plus it's a big barrel
Cons: Cost..

my son has swung a Triton in the past. he currently swings a ComBAT B2 30-20. If I bought him a Triton II, should I stick with the length he is used to (30"), the weight (20 oz.), or split the difference (31-19)? thanks Jim
Is the weight balanced (i.e. is it top heavy or very balanced). I am trying to figure out the lenght -- he has trouble with a 30/20 big barrel where he drops the end. He does fine with his 30/18.5 little barrel. They want him to shorter bat. JC

I am considering a 28 (-12) composite bat for my 10 year old son. He is smaller size ball player, very good contact hitter, having used LS TPX Omaha and Easton Rival, both being 28 (-13) one piece alloy bats last year. The LS Omaha was much more end loaded compared to the more balanced Easton Rival (MOI 60). Question: How does the swing weight of the new LS Triton 2 5/8 in. barrel compare to the new Easton S1 2 1/4 in. barrel sized bat? Thanks. Tonto
How does this bat compare to the Easton S1. Which would you recommend for a 8 yr.vold with some power? coach
Since this is a drop 12, is the barrel length significantly smaller than similar bats that are a drop 10. Assume the weight has to be removed from somewhere in the bat and they would do it thru reduction of the barrel lenfgth. Dave
Does colder weather affect the performance of all composite bats and does it make them more susceptible to cracking? KJ

Here are the specs for our pony league: •2 1/4" bats are legal if they have the Pony Approved BPF 1.15 text or the new stamp that is going on bats. •All 2 5/8" bats (greater than -3) are legal and do not require a mark of any kind •All 2 5/8 -3 bats must be BBCOR certified Does this bat have all these requirements? Anderson99
My son is 11 and 5'6" 180lbs and a power hitter. He was using the 31/21 Triton last yr. I heard "the lighter the bat the faster the swing" so I was wondering if a 32/20 would be a good idea? Also, do they make endloaded bats in senior league? Dont know if I should let him stay with a -10 bat or if endloaded would be a good idea for him. parknbob

My son is playing 8U select and is smaller but a very good hitter. He's 51lbs and used the CF4 junior big barrel last year (27/15) and we are looking for a new bat this year. Can I use it in any batting cage. Trav
My son is playing on a 7U select team (yeah, they start that young now), after playing Little League and rec before. He has been using a 29/16.5 Warrior (can't remember manufacturer) 2 1/4 barrel. We just found out that this new league allows big barrel. He's big for his age, 4'2"-3", 85-90lbs. Would the Triton 2 be a good bat to transition to big barrels with, or should I try to go with something like the Catalyst or Worth Lithium? I've also looked at the 2012 Metalstorm models. He's a lefty and can really get some power when he gets the swing going. Kevin F.
Is there a break in period on the triton? Can it be rolled to quicken the break in period? Bear
My son who is now 12 had used a 29 inch 19oz Triton 2 5/8 from ages 8-11, the bat had great pop finally cracked last year. He went to a 30 inch 20oz Stealth Speed, okay bat but does not have the same pop at all. He started borrowing a team mates TPX Triton (Blue/yellow) in games and tournaments (much better than the stealth). I want to get a new bat, the Easton S1 has been recommended but I am afraid to go with another Easton Composite bat. Can you give a recommendation regarding the New -12 Triton, -11 Catalyst, or the -10 Easton S1. He plays year round, hits with wood bats during practice and in cages. Hits for high average and has good power. Is the technology between the Stealth Speed and S1 much different. Others with the Stealth Speed on his team had similar experiences. We would be looking for a 20-21oz bat. Thanks BE
Which bat is more balanced, more pop, and lowest m.o.i.? This triton? Or the Easton S1? Thanks 808boyz
My 8 year old son currently uses a 28" -10 Easton Surge, but I think it is too heavy as he bat speed is a little slow. For the TPX Triton II, what bat length and weight would you recommend? He is 56" tall and weighs 68lbs. bd

Son has 2011 Triton at 28" 18 oz. No problems with this. Thinking about the 30" 18oz Triton but concerned same weight with 2" longer barrel means same amount of material spread over 2 more inches....any problems with breaking or not enough pop as 28" 18oz. My son is playing 11U 50/70 this fall. But it is in Little League and I do not believe this bat is legal because it is composite. He is small and needs a -12 drop as -10 is too heavy for him. Are there any -12, 2 5/8 bats that are not composite and are legal in Little League? Howie K

My son is 8, 50" and 50 lbs playing in his first kid pitch season. In the past he's used the Worth Prodigy 27/17. With kid pitch I'd like a little more length and less weight, so I like the option of the Triton 28/16 and the Easton S1 28/16. I know the Easton is a Junior big barrel, but he's used a friends and hits it well. He hasn't used the Triton, nor have I seen anyone have it. With his size, he's not a power hitter, but a good contact/line drive hitter. Which would your recommend for him? The Kid
My son is 10 yrs. old 4'10 and 74lbs. He uses a Triton (2 1/4" barrel) 30/18 and likes it. His bat speed is in the high 50s with exit speed the same during underhand toss. How do I determine what bat would work best for his size? I was thinking of moving to a 31"/18 2 1/4" barrel for increased bat speed but the big barrel bat would be legal for his AAU play. I would like to see it hold up in cold weather in the spring as some game temperatures will be in the 40s-50s. line drive
I have the TPX Triton 1.15, 2 1/4 barrel, 29"/17, is it legal for girls 10U fastpitch softball, or is this not allowed for softball? If no, is it still a good bat for baseball so I can sell it? Amy

About the Brand
In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.
After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.
The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.
The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.
Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
