You might get a good run when hitting the 375 compression softballs, but this 2016 Louisville Slugger Z-4000 Balanced ASA/USSSA Slow pitch Softball Bat (SBZ416A-B) is designed to hit 275 or 300 compression softballs. Any bat that features either the new ASA shield or the BPF 1.20 "thumbprint" stamp, like this model, will be designed to hit those lower compression balls.

It also features balanced swing weight, which is typically preferred by contact hitters. There are some major differences between this bat and the Stadium. The 2015 DeMarini Stadium CL22 USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat (DXST2) features one-piece design but it will have a composite barrel and alloy barrel. The one-piece design means that it will have a stiffer feel on contact. The three piece design of the Z-4000 allows for more flex on contact. The additional flex can create more of a whipping action for a player looking to gain more bat speed. If you already have great bat speed, the flex can cause loss of bat head contact and momentum for the speed you can put on the bat. That is why a power hitter will prefer a one-piece over a two-piece. The Stadium is also end loaded, which is also preferred by power hitters.

I would not recommend using your 2016 Louisville Slugger Z-4000 Balanced ASA/USSSA Slow pitch Softball Bat (SBZ416A-B) in temperatures below 55 degrees. At those temperatures the softballs become denser and harder and the barrels on bats are not designed to hit the harder softballs possibly causing premature damage to the bats.

Typically, you don't want to use the 2016 Louisville Slugger Z-4000 Balanced ASA/USSSA Slow pitch Softball Bat (SBZ416A-B) in temperatures less than 60 degrees. Also, you don't want to store your bat in extreme heat or extreme cold.

For .44 core balls with 375 compression I would recommend looking at a bat with only a ASA stamp, not a dual stamp. It will be damaging to the bat since they are designed for the new .52 core balls. Unless you are able to find an ASA bat with a 2004 ASA stamp or earlier it will not be designed for the .44 core balls.

The 2016 Miken DC-41 SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat (DEN41U) will have a 14.5 inch barrel length that would be larger than the 12 inch model on the 2016 Louisville Slugger Z-4000 Balanced ASA/USSSA Slow pitch Softball Bat (SBZ416A-B). However, the Z-4000 will be balanced while the DC-41 will be end-loaded. The Z-4000 also has both ASA and USSSA certification as well as NSA and ISA. While the DC-41 also has the NSA, ISA, and USSSA certification, it does not meet ASA requirements. Depending on the league or tournaments you play in, that may factor into your decision.

Either the 2015 Louisville Slugger Z-2000 End Load USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SBZ215U-E) or the 2015 Louisville Slugger Z-2000 End Load ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SBZ215A-E) would be the closest models we have depending on what type of league you play in.

The connection point between the handle and the barrel would be the main difference between the 2016 Louisville Slugger Z-4000 Balanced ASA/USSSA Slow pitch Softball Bat (SBZ416A-B) and the 2016 Louisville Slugger Super Z Balanced ASA/USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SBSZ16A-B). About the Brand
In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.
After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.
The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.
The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.
