Description

Marucci takes pride in turning top quality wooden baseball bats in the same tradition and precise technique of the earliest bat companies. Every Marucci bat is cut, calibrated, balanced, buffed and lacquered by hand. Marucci uses top grade Maple billets cut from selected, naturally grown trees in Pennsylvania forests. This selection process insures the highest possible grade of wood for each bat. Marucci bats are 100 percent handmade or turned in small batches from an original design, then finished and detailed by hand. Each model is made to exacting specifications maximizing balance and ease of handling. Marucci uses an Ultra Penetrating Stain that provides the best possible finish for your next Marucci Bat. Most impressive is the Bone Rubbing technique that they use. "Boning" bats began in the earliest days of baseball with players like Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. These Hall-of-Famers would spend hours in their dugouts rubbing their bats with old cow femur bones. Bone Rubbing closes the wood`s pores, compressing it and making it harder. Marucci uses the same technique on their bats, rubbing before the finish is applied to seal and harden the wood. Just another example of how Marucci takes the same pride in their bats as our baseball heroes once did. Experience the excellence of a Marucci Bat with the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat (AP5YB) today. Free Shipping! Pros: Excellent bat. My 10-yr old son loved the balance and feel of the bat. He couldn't wait to get into the cage, once he got in he was hitting some serious line drives.

Brian

Pros: The 29' is a couple ounces heavier than the 28' Chase Utley model, but my smaller 10 year old son can get it through the zone jut fine. The barrel has a bigger sweet spot so he gets more pop with it. Marucci makes great, durable bats for younger players to use to make the BBCOR transition much easier.

100% satisfied Dirt player

Pros: Great balance, the bat swung lighter than the actual weight. Hits were very solid and no vibration. The bat showed very little wear after one tournament.

Cons: The cupped end is vulnerable to damage on a mis hit.

AP5!!!!! Wood Bat Guy player

Pros: This bat has a very balanced swing weight added to the giant sweet spot that allows for loads of pop. The tapered knob really makes this bat very comfortable to swing. This bat does chip relatively easily, but not that much chipping. The paint finish is great I really like these colors more than the CU26. Over all this is the best youth wood bat you could get

Beautifully made, 30 inch Sam parent

Pros: My sons had the 28 inch model, which I found the handle to be a tad thin. So, when it was time to move up to a 29 inch, I bought him a JB model, because of the thicker handle, which he likes, but without the tapered knob, which he wished for. The 30 inch model had the best of both world, tapered knob, and surprisingly, thick handle like a JB. Not sure if this is by design, or just a variability in the bat making process. I ordered 2 bats, one was a minus 7, the other a minus 6. The -7 would be his game bat, and I am encouraging him to train with the -6. Five Stars in all categories, beautiful, hard bats, that produces a lovely contact that an MLB player would approve.

Cons: Wish no cup is an option

John P.
Do maple or ash bats have more "pop"? Will
I wouldn't say that a maple wood bat like this Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat (AP5YB) will inherently be higher performing than an ash wood bat. Most players make a preference on wood type based off the feel that they prefer at contact. This maple bat would produce more of a stiff feel at contact while an ash bat would produce more of a flex feel at contact. As well, ash bats generally feel lighter than maple bats. Based upon these factors, most players are able to make a determination for a material of wood that they prefer.
Ben
My son is 10 next month and currently swings a COMBAT MAXUM 30 inch -12. He's 4'5" and 85 lbs. What is a good size wood bat for him for bp? Ps1
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 29" model in the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat: AP5YB.
Jason
Are Marucci Wood Youth Baseball bats with a 2 1/4 barrel diameter legal for senior league play, ages 15-16? Matthew
One would need to check and make sure that the bat would need to be a drop 3 length to weight ratio. Since you would be using a smaller barrel and a wood bat one would think that a drop 5 wood youth bat would be allowed but we would strongly recommend checking first before purchasing a bat like the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat: AP5YB.
Cameron
Would it be good for my 11 year old son? Afam
The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat: AP5YB is a great youth wood baseball bat to consider. This bat features a 30 day warranty through Marucci which is great since most youth players will break numerous wood bats. This bat does feature a drop 5 length-to-weight ratio. With some youth players, this can make it difficult to find the correct fit.
Cameron
What is the weight of the 29" bat? Scott
The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat: AP5YB features an approximate -5 length to weight ratio and the 29" model will be about 24 oz.
Jason
What weight is the 30"? chris
The weight of the 30" Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat (AP5YB) is going to be approximately 25 ounces.

How does this bat compare in feel and weight distribution to the Cutch22 youth bat, also made by Marucci? Mac
The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat: AP5YB and the Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat: CUTCH22YB are going to feel very similar in swing weight design. The AP5YB will have a slightly more balanced swing weight to some due to the taper design of the bat.
