Description

Marucci takes pride in turning top quality wooden baseball bats in the same tradition and precise technique of the earliest bat companies. Every Marucci bat is cut, calibrated, balanced, buffed and lacquered by hand. Marucci uses top grade Maple billets cut from selected, naturally grown trees in Pennsylvania forests. This selection process insures the highest possible grade of wood for each bat. Marucci bats are 100 percent handmade or turned in small batches from an original design, then finished and detailed by hand. Each model is made to exacting specifications maximizing balance and ease of handling. Marucci uses an Ultra Penetrating Stain that provides the best possible finish for your next Marucci Bat. Most impressive is the Bone Rubbing technique that they use. "Boning" bats began in the earliest days of baseball with players like Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. These Hall-of-Famers would spend hours in their dugouts rubbing their bats with old cow femur bones. Bone Rubbing closes the wood`s pores, compressing it and making it harder. Marucci uses the same technique on their bats, rubbing before the finish is applied to seal and harden the wood. Just another example of how Marucci takes the same pride in their bats as our baseball heroes once did. Experience the excellence of a Marucci Bat and try their newest custom wood bat designed for Andrew McCutchen. The Cutch 22 Pro Model allows hitters who prefer a balanced feel to swing a larger barrel. The tapered handle distributes the weight of the powerful barrel evenly throughout the bat so hitters have complete control of their swing from the load all the way through the zone. Best Wood Bat EVB49 player

Pros: This bat is pound for pound the best wood bat on the market. It is incredibly balanced and looks like a fine piece of furniture. It also has great sound and feel.

Cons: The bat chipped easily around the cup, no surpise but still dispointing for the first use.

A great buy RichG312 player

Pros: This bat is extremely well balanced due to the thicker handle and flare going into the knob. It is a truly beautiful piece of wood.

Cons: Although this bat has good pop its not made of as hard a wood as a Sam bat.

Great bat but... Bruce parent

Pros: My son is 5'10", 170 pounds. A good contact hitter with power. He loved the bat and had great results but at the end of one full summer/fall season it split in two pieces on an inside pitch. Despite that we ordered a second one. I guess that's the price of using wood.

Cons: It only lasted one season.

All three bats have a balanced swing weight.
Damon
How does this bat compare to the Marucci Carlos Beltran Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CB15) Adult? sweg baller
The Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CUTCH22C) Cherry Adult has a slightly longer taper on the barrel and a much larger taper on the handle than the Marucci Carlos Beltran Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CB15) Adult.
Damon
Does this bat come in a 33.5" length? Also, any other color? capdap
The Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CUTCH22C) Cherry Adult is regrettably not available in half sizes on our sites. Concerning the color, we did have a model that featured a Cherry Barrel and Natural Handle, but we no longer have that in inventory. However, you are able to create a custom CUTCH22 on Marucci's website. You are able to select half sizes and customize the colorscheme: http://goo.gl/N1q85z.
Mac
I am looking to purchase a wood bat for my 14 year old son. It will be his first wood bat. I am looking for something that is balanced, not end weighted. Would you recommend the Cutch22 or another bat? traveldad
The Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CUTCH22C) will be a great balanced option and will be a nice bat for players who are new to using wood bats.
Patrick
What is the most balanced bat of all of the Marucci wood bats? Hammer02
The Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CUTCH22C Cherry Adult) will have one of the most balanced swing weights that Marucci manufactures. Additionally, you could consider the Marucci Jose Bautista Maple Wood Baseball Bat (JB19 Adult) as well.
Joe
What is the turn model of this bat? rj
The Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CUTCH22C Cherry Adult) has a custom Cutch22 turn model. This bat is designed specifically to Andrew McCutchen's specifications, so there is no exact equivalent in standard turn models. The closest relation would probably be an I13 turn model or possibly a 110 with a thinner handle.
Joe
I'm looking for a Marucci with the most balance as possible, without sacrificing a large barrel. Which Pro Model is best for me? werd
The Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CUTCH22C Cherry Adult) would be a great way to go. Also, the Marucci Albert Pujols AP5 model. These bats will be very balanced in swing weight. They will also still get you the medium to large barrel sizing you are needing.
Brandon
What is is the length of the barrel? zoilo
The barrel length on the Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CUTCH22C) would vary based on the length of the bat. The reason we do not include that information is because there is much difference in opinion as to what is technically the barrel and where that would end.
Patrick
What is the handle width? krunk
Marucci does not publish the specific handle length on the Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CUTCH22C) but it will be close to a lot of models with a 7/8ths inch handle width.
Patrick
What color is this bat both the barrel and the color? Jelly
The Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CUTCH22C) is what is described as a cherry color which is a dark reddish brown wood color. The labeling on it will be gold.
Patrick
Does it have a flared knob? Also, is the taper at the knob fast or slow? xoriowgus
The Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CUTCH22C Cherry Adult) will have a semi-flared knob. The taper will be more fast then slow. The bat is very high performing and will have balanced swing weight.
Brandon
Would you recommend this or the youth version for a 13 year old in Babe Ruth? GK
Most 13 year old players would want to transition to the more adult model of the Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CUTCH22C). However, if the player is still used to using lighter 2 1/4 inch barrel bats, they could probably start with the youth model and gradually move up.
Patrick
I am looking for a 14 year old player. He is 5 foot 11 and 130 pounds. He is a contact hitter. Is this a good bat for this player? He just switched to BBCOR and is swinging a 32 inch Mako. Would you suggest 32 inch size in wood bats as well? MA
The Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CUTCH22C) would be a good choice for that player. A 32 inch CUTCH22 would have a similar feel to the 32 inch BBCOR model he uses.
Patrick
What turn is this bat? cc
Tessa
About what drop is it? dd
The Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CUTCH22C) is an approximate -3 length to weight ratio but can be a bit lighter or heavier depending on the density of the piece of wood it is turned from.
Patrick
I'm just wondering which bat is more balanced, the CUTCH22 or the RIZZ44? Matt
The Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CUTCH22C) Cherry Adult will be more balanced than the RIZZ44.
John
I'm a contact hitter, but sometimes I hit for power. What bat is best for me: the CUTCH22C or the CU26? sam123456
Both the Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat: CUTCH22C Cherry Adult and Marucci Chase Utley Maple Wood Baseball Bat: CU26B would work very well for you. The CUTCH22C will have a more barrel heavy feel to it than the CU26B does, so it mostly will depend on how you like your bat to feel.
Marcus
What is the barrel size in decimal form? 2.625? Josh
Unfortunately, I am not able to give you the barrel size in decimal form on the Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat: CUTCH22C Cherry Adult because Marucci does not release any of the specifications on their wood baseball bats.
John
I am trying to decide on whether to get the Cutch or the Utley. I was wondering if the barrel size is larger on one of the models? william 531
Both the Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CUTCH22C Cherry Adult) and the Marucci Chase Utley Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CU26B Adult) feature a 2 1/2" inch barrel diameter and are balanced weighted bats. With that said, the CUTCH22C will feature a slightly larger barrel.
Cameron
Is the CUTCH22C a BBCOR bat? 19384982397340
The Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat: CUTCH22C Cherry Adult is a wood baseball bat that doesn't feature the BBCOR certified stamp. This bat typically would be allowed for use in BBCOR leagues as there would not be an advantage gained by using a wood bat over an alloy or composite bat.
Cameron
I have a 5'9" and 145 lb contact hitter who has power to the gaps. What are your thoughts on the McCutchen vs. Bautista Marruci wood? RW
Both the Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat: CUTCH22C Cherry Adult and the Jose Baustista models are great options for a contact hitter. The Bautista is the most balanced Marucci model and will provide a player with the best bat speed. The McCuthchen is a balanced option as well, but it features a longer barrel.
Jason
Is this bat legal to use for high school play? TA Knight
This Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CUTCH22C Cherry Adult) should be allowed for high school sanctioned play as it is a wood bat constructed of a single-piece of maple wood. If a wood bat is made of a single-piece of wood, it is typically not required to bear the BBCOR .50 certification on it.
Ben
What turn model is this bat most comparable to? Thomas
Unfortunately, the Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat: CUTCH22C Cherry Adult is not made with a standard turn model, so it is tough to compare to another turn model. However, the I13 is probably the most comparable. I13 turn models do have bigger barrel diameters though and feel more end loaded.
Jason
I am 6', 173 lbs. I'm a power hitter. I'm deciding between the AP5 or CUTCH22. Which bat model and size should I get? Bball
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend going with a wooden bat in the 33" length (as long as you can handle the 30 oz weight, that length option would be fine). For a power hitter, either option of bat would work as both this Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CUTCH22C Cherry Adult) and the AP5 feature an extended barrel length that would attract a power hitter.
Ben
Does this bat feature a pro ink dot? theo
The Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat: CUTCH22C Cherry Adult does not feature the pro ink dot test.
Cameron
What bat model is better for me? Old Hickory Mike Trout model, or CUTCH22? I am 5'9", 167 pounds contact/ power hitter. 22homer
I would recommend the Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat: CUTCH22C Cherry Adult because it is going to be more balanced. The Old Hickory Bat Co. Mike Trout Maple Wood Baseball Bat: MT27M Adult is going to feature a turn model similar to that of a 243, which will give it an end loaded feel.
Nick
Would the CUTCH22 cut be similar to a 110 cut? stefan
Overall, I would say that the 110 turning model will produce a more gradual taper from the barrel to the handle of a bat and will create a more balanced swing feel compared to the feel on this Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CUTCH22C Cherry Adult). The barrel length is a little extended on this McCutchen model and although the bat is still pretty balanced, I think you will sense a little more end-load on it when compared to a 110 model.
Ben
What adult Marucci pro models feature ink dot tests, or do all of them, or even none? Go Cubbies
The only Marucci bat that we currently feature with the pro ink dot test is the 2016 Marucci Buster Posey Maple Wood Baseball Bat: POSEY28 Whitewash Adult.
Cameron

Cameron
What's the weight on the 32 inch version? Mike
The Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat: CUTCH22C Cherry Adult has an approximate -3 length to weight ratio, and the 32" model is about 29 oz.
Jason
My son is 13 years old 5'9" weight 150 lbs. He current hitting DeMarini CF Zen 32/27. What size wood bat should we consider? Planning a wood bat tournament. Chuck
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 32" model of the Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat: CUTCH22C Cherry Adult. However, a good amount of players drop down an inch the first time they use a wood bat.
