Pros: First off, this bat looks amazing out of the box. I love its matte black finish because the paint wont get any marks or scratches on it! I just recently took some BP with it and I have to say it's amazing! It has very nice pop and its balance is incredible. It's way better than my Voodoo and I would definitely recommend this bat to anybody.

Pros: Wow, The best bat out there. Extremely balanced and has the pop of your old BESR bat! My dad got it as an early birthday present and I got to use it in a tourney. The bat is hot straight out of the wrapper and I went 7/8 for the overall tourney with 2 doubles. This is my first Marucci bat and I guarantee you that I won't be switching back to my other bats. I like the graphics too, but it's all about performance. It has all of the stuff you want.

Cons: None. Honestly, a great bat.

Better than Voodoo or any Easton S-series bat. Mykel Vargas player

Pros: This bat is absouletly perfect. The graphic on the bat is what caught my eye, than after looking at review and videos of it I decided to get it, rather than the Voodoo i was going to get. When it came in, it felt great. It has weight to it but not too much. Feels perfect. I took it to the cages and it did amazing. It has pop, practically no vibration, and the extended barrel for a better sweet spot just makes it a ten. I recommend this over any Voodoo. Its just perfect.

This bat was not what i was hoping for. Banks Todd player

Pros: As on all Marucci's, the grip is unreal. Whenever you hit the sweet spot it feels like a very nice hit. Also, the bat hardly ever stings your hands which could be very helpful to hitters who hate to wear gloves.

Cons: The sweetspot on the bat is extremely small and whenever you hit a nice hit, the bat seems like it is dead. I personally like to hear the tinging sound so that is one of the factors that botherd me. The last thing i have to say is that the wieght is not balanced very evenly. you tend to drop the bat head.

WHY I SWING MARUCCI: Columbia University Sophomore Shane player

Pros: I've had the pleasure of swinging this bat for several years and I am comfortable saying that it's my baby. It has amazing jump off the bat, great whip action through the zone, and has a crisp, clean ping to it. Not to mention the graphics are sick. If you buy this bat, you'll be pleased.

Cons: The only thing I'd have to say is you'd generally want to be a bigger guy in terms of strength, like a gapper or a power hitter. Big end load.

Pros: Very well balanced Great pop Easy to swing I love this bat. It never left me disappointed or unhappy. It was my favorite bat to swing, but unfortunately the last tournament I was in it was destroyed. I hit a fastball that got me a triple, but put an 8 inch crack in it, thus ending our relationship. I was hoping to get another, but was greatly disappointed to find out they have been discontinued. Hope I can find a replacement I like as well as the 'black magic

Cons: Cracked

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBB20? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Would you recommend this bat or TPX EXOGRID3 for a contact hitter that can hit for power too? haa
The 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR would be a great choice for a contact hitter with some power.
Kara
Would this be a good bat for a hitter that hits for power as well as average? centerfield27
Yes. The 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 is a great all-around bat that has a ton of pop.
Tyler
I had the 2012 Marucci Black and it was great. Is this bat legal and is it going to stay legal this year in college baseball? big con
The 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult baseball bat is BBCOR Certified and Approved for H.S. and Collegiate Play.
Jeff
Whats the difference between this and the original? MGT10
The new Marucci Black 2 models have slightly longer barrels, a little better balance, and a slightly stiffer feel compared to last year's Marucci Black.
Tyler
If I had last years model and thought it was good but not great, would this be the bat for me? I enjoyed my friend's Easton S1 more. My question is which bat do you think is better for me this year. Considering that I like the Easton S1 more compared to the Marucci Black? And lastly, how has the Marucci Black 2 changed? bt42
The 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult bat is a great product. This year's design will be a Seamless Two-Piece Hybrid model. This means you will not be able to see or feel the Two-Piece connection. This year's design will feature Marucci's AZ3000 Aerospace Alloy barrel and Carbon Composite handle. It will also have an Extended Barrel for a Larger Sweet Spot. The Black 2 will provide an evenly balanced swing weight. Also, it will use a Patented Unequal Kevlar Reinforced Grip to eliminate and stinging in your hands. The 2013 Easton S1 BBCOR will be a Two-Piece all composite model. I would say you will see better results with an Alloy barrel from Day 1 but in the long run a Composite barrel will out perform longer. When hitting it's all about being confident. I'd would advise you to swing both bats and just choose the bat that feels better in your hands. Both will be great choices and provide you with great results.
Brandon
Will this bat have a lighter swing weight than the 2012 easton typhoon? DCCD
In my opinion, the 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 will offer a slightly lighter swing weight compared to the Typhoon.
Tyler
What is the barrel diameter of the bat for 32inch 29 ounce? something7777
The barrel diameter on the 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult bat will be 2 5/8".
Brandon
any idea if there will be a 30/27 size option for this bat in 2013? my son has always preferred a shorter bat - he is 14 years old, is about 5'5" and 115lbs -- he has the 30/25 marucci black and loves it -- we bought the 30/27 demarini voodoo as soon as we saw it was availabe in the 30 inch length -- he likes the marucci black so much better - and I hate to invest in another -5 bat when he needs to move to a -3 for high school skdzb
The options for the Marucci Black 2 will only go down to a 31/28. Here are some options at at the 30/27 length and weight to choose from. http://www.justbats.com/products/length~30%20inch/length%20to%20weight%20ratio~-%203/
Derek
I have a question about the swing weight. How does it compare to the Easton S1? I'm am debating between the two and am trying to weigh out the pros and cons of each one. Any opinions on either one? Baseball customer
The 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult bat will have a Seamless Two-Piece Hybrid Design. The barrel will be made of AZ3000 Aerospace Alloy and the handle will be Carbon Composite material. It will have an Extended Barrel with an Larger Sweet Spot. This bat will feature the Patented Unequal Kevlar-Reinforced Grip to eliminate sting. It will also have a Balanced Swing Weight. The 2013 Easton S1 BBCOR: BB13S1 Adult bat will feature a Two-Piece all Composite design. This model will require a break-in period. 100-200 swings off of a tee or soft toss while rotating the barrel in your hands. The 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR will not require any break-in period. The 2013 S1 will be a very Balanced Bat. It is part of the Power Brigade Speed Series. It will have a light weight feel with a low M.O.I. for a faster swing speed and added power.
Brandon
Is this the best bat out? avery1030
The 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR is one of the hottest bats on the market. It uses top of the line alloy and composite materials for great durability and performance.
Kara
Is this more balanced than the marucci team? Norm
The 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 will be a little more balanced than the Marucci Team bats.
Tyler
Is this bat more balanced the the prototype air? And does this bat flex more or is it a stiff bat? Kevin
Both the 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 and 2013 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR AIR: B1303A are balanced bats. However, I feel the Prototype Air is just a little more balanced. The Marucci Black 2 is a two-piece bat, but it has a pretty stiff flex.
Tyler
I am getting a new bat, and I am considering the Black 2 or the Easton S1. I'm a contact hitter, which one do you think would be better? Henry
The Easton S1 is going to be more balanced than the Marucci Black 2. The S1 will be better for you, because the barrel will be a little less stiff than the Black 2.
Noah
Would this bat be recommended for power hitters? Would there be any other you would suggest? Papahitting
The 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult bat would be a good option for a hitter with power. This bat will be more evenly balanced compared to an end loaded Easton XL3 or DeMarini Voodoo. If you are a power hitter that likes a balanced swing feel, this bat would be a great selection.
Brandon
Will the Marucci Black BBCOR have enough pop for a 13 yr old hitting a BBCOR bat for the first time in competition? Evan 10
A BBCOR bat will certainly be different as far as pop goes when compared to a the bats you have previously used. The 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult baseball bat will have good pop when compared to other BBCOR bats.

Will the 2013 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR AIR be more balanced than the Marucci Black 2 BBCOR? centerfield27
Both are balanced. The Marucci Black 2 BBCOR will have more flex because it is a two-piece bat.
Damon
How does this bat compare to the 2012 Black? Also, what's the difference compared to the Marucci Team bats? mike
The 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult will be more balanced, and have a longer barrel and stiffer feel than the 2012 version. The Marucci Black 2 is a two-piece hybrid design compared to the Marucci Team that is an one-piece alloy design.
Aubrey
What is better the new 2013 Marucci Black 2? Or the new 2013 Easton S1? kyky
Both bats would be great choices for the upcoming year. The Marucci Black 2 has a Seamless Two-Piece Hybrid Design. It will have an Alloy barrel with a Composite handle. This will require no period of break-in and reduce the amount of vibration that will reach the hitter's hands. The 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult bat will be very balanced in swing weight. The 2013 Easton S1 BBCOR model will be a Two-Piece all Composite design. It will be very balanced also. With this bat's barrel being Composite material it will require a period of break-in. 100-200 swings off of a tee or through soft toss. Just make sure and rotate the barrel in the hitter's hands after each swing. The Black 2 will come with a 12 Month Warranty through Marucci. The S1 will come with a Full 400 Day Warranty through Easton.
Brandon
2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult or 2013 COMbat B4 Portent BBCOR: B4AB1 Adult? Just wondering which bat is better, that will last longer and has more pop? Will
The 2013 Marucci Black 2 is a two piece with an aluminum barrel, whereas the COMBAT B4 Portent is a one-piece composite. The Marucci will be more balanced and the B4 Portent will have more pop because of the composite barrel. The Black would be better for a contact hitter and the B4 would be better for a power hitter.
Damon
I am really stuck between the Marucci Black 2 and the new Rip-It Prototype BBCOR Air. Can you explain the differences in the two bats? connor
Both these bats are balanced. The Marucci Black is a two-piece bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel. The Rip-It Prototype Air is a one piece alloy bat.
Damon
Would this bat or the RIP-IT Prototype Air be a better choice for a power hitter who wants a balanced bat? Also, which one will be more durable, probably lasting a season while playing for 3 teams. DCDCDC
The RIP-IT Prototype Air is going to be a balanced bat, and the one-piece design makes it great for any power hitter. As far as the durability goes they will both be very similar.
Noah
is this bat balanced like the rip-it prototype air? matt
Yes. The 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 is a balanced bat.
Tyler
What size would you recommend for my son, he is 5'2 about 100 pounds and he is 14 years old and he is starting high school baseball? Hitter123
The recommended size for your son would be a 29". However a 30" may be a better choice because he is very close in size to needing a 30" and that might suit him better going forward.
Jeff
Does the Marucci Black 2 have more pop than the new Voodoo? Keaton
Both the 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult and the 2013 Voodoo BBCOR will have great pop. They are made of the highest grade alloy. The Voodoo will be a little stiffer and more end loaded than the Marucci Black 2.
Kara
I'm looking for a bat for my upcoming high school season. I used the Easton S3 last year and didn't like the feel...I'm a contact hitter usually batting 1st or 2nd. Would this bat be a good choice if I'm looking for a balanced bat for a contact hitter? Jim
The 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult is a balanced two-piece bat, perfect for a contact hitter.
Kara
My son is entering high school he is a 5' 7' 117lbs contact hitter. Would you recommend this bat, the Rip-It 2013 Prototype Air,or the S1? Knights24
All three are very high performing models that we would recommend. Generally contact hitters prefer two-piece designs. It then would come down to personal preference between having a alloy barrel or composite barrel. The Easton S1 is a two-piece full composite design while the Marucci Black 2 will have an alloy barrel and composite handle. The Marucci Black 2 will be hot right hot of the wrapper while the Easton S1 will require a break in period because of the composite materials in the barrel.
John
I was wondering if I should get the XL1 or Marucci. I would get the Marucci, but I heard it chips real easy. What do I get? andrew bernal
The Easton XL1 and Marucci Black 2 are both great options and very high performing. The Easton XL1 will be more of an endloaded design while the Marucci Black 2 is a well balanced model. As of durability issues we have not heard any customers having issues with the Marucci Black 2 model. If something does happen then you are covered under Marucci's 12 month manufacturer's warranty.
John
i am 5' 10 140lbs and 13. i am a contact hitter with some power. would you recommend this bat for me and if so what size? g$
The 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 is a great option. Based on your size, a 32" model is recommended.
Tyler
I am a contact hitter with some power so would the black 2 be better or the Rip-it Air and what is the break in for the 2 of them? shah
Both are great bats. You should use whichever bat is the closest comparison to what you've been using. It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. Both have alloy hitting surfaces and do not require a break-in period.
Tyler
My son is 17, about 5'9" or 5'10" and 195 lbs. He has been using a 32" bat. Should he move up to a 33" because of his size now? Mom
Based on his height and weight, he can use a 33" 30 oz. model in the 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult bat. For more information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach tool at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/

So far, the 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 has displayed above average durability and a significant decrease in reports of paint chips.
Tyler

The 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult does not have rings or governors in the barrel to make it BBCOR compliant.
Kara
I am a real power hitter and my previous bats have chipped, dented, or even cracked wide open.......... I was wondering how durable this bat will be with a strong power hitter and how long it will possibly last? J
The 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 is going to have above average durability. Unfortunately, bats do not come with set lifespans and I can't say how long it will last. However, it is covered under a full 12-month manufacturers warranty through Marucci should anything happen.
Tyler
I had been using the Marucci Black 2012 this past season. I really liked it and I am trying to decide whether to buy the 2012 or the 2013. Since I haven't used the 2013 I am a little hesitant about spending the money. I haven't heard much feedback on the 2013 and am wondering your opinion on which to buy the 2012 or the 2013? MRBASEBALL
Both are very similar, but the 2012 model is known to be a little more balanced with a slightly lighter swing weight. The 2013 model will still have decent balance, but not quite as much as the 2012 Marucci Black.
Tyler
Only comes in a 2 piece design? Is it end loaded? chad
Yes, the 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 is only produced in a two-piece, hybrid model with a balanced swing weight.

Doug F.
My son is 5' 7" and 135 pounds. I am looking to buy him a 33 inch, -3, is this a good choice? Texaskid
The 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult bat would be a great choice for the high school/college player. This bat does come in a 33" size, although at 5' 7" a bat length of 31" is recommended. This bat will have a very balanced swing weight to it. It will feature Marucci's AZ3000 Aerospace alloy barrel and a Carbon composite handle. It will also have an extended barrel for a larger sweet spot.
Brandon
Should I get the Marucci Black 2 or the Rawlings Velo 2013? Eddiechrisar
If you are looking to get a two-piece bat hybrid design, go with the 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult. If a one-piece alluminum is what you need, the 2013 Rawlings Velo would be the way to go.
Zach
My son bought this bat from a friend that didn't have a warranty/receipt. The end cap is actually broken and has a hole in it with the broken piece inside the bat. Is there anyway to get a replacement cap? I emailed Marucci and they said they don't sell individual parts. We've purchased several bat packs over the years and trust your experience in answering this question. Do we have options? Papi34
Sometimes looking for individual parts can be very hard. For an end cap on the 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult I would check EBAY or Amazon. We do not sell individual bat parts. If Marucci did not have anything for you, you may have some luck searching those other websites.

I am 14 years old and 5'5, and I have been swinging a 31 inch. Should i move up to a 32'? But i heard this bat is awesome, Im looking fwd for my dad getting it for me. Also, is the S1 better? My cousin said the first marucci black was the bomb. Should i get this or the S1 CDJ07
Our Bat Coach is a great tool to help determine bat sizing: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/. As far as which is better, that difficult to answer as much of the decision comes down to the personal preference of the player and what bat type of bat they have used previously. It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate.

The 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult bat would be a good choice for hitter looking for a more balanced bat option. It will be very balanced as well.

The Marucci Black 2 and the RIP-It Prototype will perform the same, but the RIP-IT will be the better bat for you, because it has more of a balanced feel.

The 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult is similar in design, with an alloy barrel and composite handle, but it is well balanced, while the Voodoo is end loaded. The XL-Series from Easton is the most comparable in feel, with the 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult being the most similar in design.

The 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult has an extended barrel like the Easton XL2. The Marucci Black 2 has a slight end load but the Easton XL2 is more end loaded. Either one would be suitable for a contact hitter with power.
Kara
I lot of the reviews say the bat feels heavier and the barrel seems smaller. Did Marucci make changes to the 2014 black to fix these problems? What are the main differences? Baseball14
The 2014 Marucci Black has a very similar feel and swing weight to the 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: (MCBB20). Aside from the difference in color scheme, Marucci has not indicated that they've made any major changes. The Black models do tend to be less balanced that some other options, but that is most likely attributed to the extended alloy barrel.
Mac
How does the Marucci Black 2 compare to the 2012 Marucci Black in weight distribution and feel? And was the 2012 Marucci Black BBCOR banned? Will
This Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: (MCBB20) will offer a swing feel and design that is very comparable to the Marucci Black BBCOR: (MCB11). As of 6/6/2012, the 33" and 34" length Marucci Black (MCB11) are no longer approved for NCAA play. These bats are still allowed for play in High School baseball.

Brandon
I have always hit good with Louisville Sluggers. How the Marucci Black 2 stacks up to a Louisville Slugger ryden0905
The Marucci Black 2 BBCOR (MCBB20) is very high performing. It would be very comparable to the Louisville Slugger Raid of this year.
Justin R.
I'm looking to buy a bat and was trying to decide between the DeMarnini Vexxum NVS and the sales rep mentioned this bat. The Vexxum to me, seems kind of end loaded. What's the difference between the two? I like a balanced bat and more of a contact/power guy. I've swung the 5150 and Omaha Balanced and seem to like them. kevin
The Marucci Black 2 BBCOR (MCBB20) is a two-piece bat similar to the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR (DXVXC). The Marucci Black 2 is more end loaded compared to the DeMarini VExxu, 5150, and Omaha Balanced bat. We recommend the 2014 Marucci Elite BBCOR (MCBE14). It is a very balanced, two-piece bat that is great for a contact hitter.
Kara
What is the difference between the Marucci Black and the Marucci Black 2 and which one is a better bat? JoeEllis3311
There are no major differences between the 2014 Marucci Black BBCOR (MCBB14) and the Marucci Black 2 BBCOR (MCBB20). The only difference is the color/paint scheme on the two models. Since both bats are governed by BBCOR there really is not one better then the other. They are each great bats.
Zach

The Marucci Black 2 BBCOR (MCBB20) and the 2014 Black are the same bat, the only change is cosmetically.

Both the Marucci Black 2 (MCBB20) and the 2014 Marucci Black (MCBB14) will be very similar. Both models have a balanced swing weight and extended barrels for larger sweet spots. Both models are best suited for contact/gap to gap hitters.
John H
Would the Marucci Black 2 be better for a power hitter rather than the Cat 6? chazzz
Both models would be good performers for a power hitter. The main difference would be that the Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB20) will be two pieces and will flex a bit more and the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) which is a one piece. The preference would be between which feel you like better.
Patrick
What bat is better for a power hitter: the 2014 DeMarini OVERLORD or the Marucci Black 2? Bryce
The Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB20) has a fairly balanced swing weight and is typically a better option for a contact hitter compared to the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD. The OVERLORD features an end loaded swing weight, which is ideal for a power hitter.
Jason
Would this be a good bat for a 13 year old? baseball is mah life
The Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB20) would be a great option for a 13 year old player.
Brandon
My son is moving to the "big field", and we are looking for a bat. He is playing in the Juniors division of Little League. He loves the Marucci Black and the Marucci Black 2, but I read that these bats were decertified in 2012. Has LL changed the ruling? If not, what bat would you recommend for a 5' 4" eighth grader who is a contact hitter? Baseball mom
The only model of Marucci Black that was decertified for play was the (MCB11). This Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB20) and the (MCBB14) are still approved for play. Ultimately, choosing a bat comes down to what the player is comfortable with. You may also consider models like the Rawlings VELO, Easton S3, and RIP-IT AIR for balanced bats with a stiff flex.
Mac
How would you compare the Cat 6 and the Black 2 in swing weight? Wil
The Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB20) and the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) will have similar balance and swing weight. However, the two-piece design of the Black 2 can provide a bit more flex which can help improve bat speed.
Patrick
Which is the more balanced bat: the Black 2 or the Cat 5 (or 6)? Is there another Marucci BBCOR model that is even more balanced? TC
The Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB20) is considered a balanced bat, but it is not quite as balanced as the CAT 5 or CAT 6. The CAT 5 and CAT 6 are extremely balanced and are the most balanced Marucci models.
Jason
I'm about 5'10" and weigh 160 lbs. I am mainly a contact hitter. Would this bat be better for me or the 2014 Marucci Black? Should I use a 33" or 32"? High school senior
For your height and weight I would recommend a 32 inch bat. The Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB20) and the 2014 Marucci Black BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB14) are in the same line, and have balanced swing weight and extended barrel for a larger sweet spot. The Black 2 is the 2013 model and the Black is the 2014 model.
Frankie
My son is 13 and plays travel ball. I am looking for a Marucci drop 3 bat. Which is the best weight and length? jj
Which length and weight of the Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB20) you should get would be based more on the player's height and weight rather than one being the best overall for that age.
Patrick
What is the difference between the Black and Black 2? Nathan
There is very little difference between the Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB20) and the Marucci Black BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB14). Both feature the same AZ3000 alloy, two-piece seamless hybrid design, and extended barrel.
Jake
What are some good bats for a power hitter? Deets
The Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB20) is a two-piece hybrid design with a balanced swing weight. Most power hitters prefer an end-loaded model. Two bats that you could definitely consider that we would recommend for power hitters would be the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) and the 2015 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15X1).
Joe
Is this bat going to be as balanced as the CAT 6? How do these bats compare to each other? lil freese
The Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB20) will have a slightly end loaded feel compared to the CAT 6. The two-piece hybrid design provides a little extra mass in the barrel compared to the CAT 6. Performance wise the two bats are very comparable and very high performing. The Marucci Black 2 is typically a better option for power hitters because of the heavier weight, where the CAT 6 is typically better for contact hitters.
Jason
Could I get a special order from you guys so I can get it in 31 inches 27 ounces? Colby
BBCOR certified bats like the Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB20) have to be a -3 length to weight ratio or heavier so a 31 inch model would weigh 28 ounces or more. Further, this bat has stopped being produced so we can no longer order this model in additional sizes. The only size we have left to sell is a 32 inch 29 ounce.
Patrick
I am 5 foot 3 and weigh 150 pounds and I am a power hitter. You guys only offer one length, so where can I go to get my size and what size should I get? Colby
The Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB20) has stopped being produced so we are not able to order any additional sizes. Based on your height and weight, we would expect you to be using a 31 inch BBCOR model.
Patrick
What's the difference between the Black 2 and the Black? Joe
The Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB20) is the 2013 model and the Marucci Black BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB14) is a 2014 model.

Damon
Is this bat better than the Cat 6? Damien200767
I would not say that the Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB20) is necessarily "better" than the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614). The bats are different by design but both have qualities that make them appealing to certain types of players.
Patrick
Is this bat good for power hitters? homers24/7
The Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB20) has a heavier swing weight because of the two-piece hybrid design and it is an excellent option for power hitters.

I am 5'11" and 180 pounds. What size should I get? carp
We would recommend the 33" in the Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat MCBB20 for a player with your height and weight.
John
Im 15 6'3 220lbs. Im wondering if this bat is a good power bat I can use I really dont know that much about bats but im a power hitter and i need a power bat. Salvador
Typically, power hitters prefer one-piece bats that are end loaded. The one-piece makes the bat stiffer, which help generate power due to less flex during the swing. The end load helps create a "whip" like action through the zone, which helps create power when going through the zone. The Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBB20 is certainly a good bat, but I would look more towards an end-loaded bat for a power hitter.
Nick
I have a 12 year old boy playing middle school and Recreational league ball. What type of BBCOR bat would you suggest for him? john
For a 12 year old using BBCOR bats for the first time, I generally would recommend a smaller 30" or 31" option of BBCOR .50 bat. Sadly, we only have this Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB20) in the 33"/30 oz size. To get a smaller Marucci model of BBCOR bat in the 31" length, I would recommend the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614).

However, if you feel you can handle the 30 oz weight of the available 33" option of this Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB20), I think you would be fine purchasing that size of bat.

If you have been comfortable using the 33" bat and have delivered good results with that size of bat, I would recommend to continue using the same size of bat if you were to get this Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB20).

Which Marucci bat is better: the MCBB20 -or- the MCBB14? Medina
Both this Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB20) and the MCBB14 are hybrid bats (alloy barrel and composite handle) and feature the same alloy material on the barrel and same composite material on the handle. As well, both bats receive similar reviews from JustBats customers. It would be hard to truly say one is better than the other.
