Pros: Bought this bat for my son because it was the only bat that qualified for his middle school in my price range. I can't tell you how pleased I am with this bat. He loves it. He has had the best games of his life with this bat. It is well balanced and has absolutely no sting so he does not hesitate to try and smash the ball. His coach says that he swings as if he is hitting a beach ball instead of a baseball. He just steps up and kills it because he has no fear of a sting if he misjudges. Get this bat, you won't be sorry.
Cons: NONE...
baseballdad
Pros: My son says he really likes the feel of the bat. It appears to have pretty good "pop" as well.
Cons: Unfortunately, he has only used it a short time and the grip tape is bunching up at the knob. I wish I had a local rep that would repair under warranty. My son can't afford to go without the bat to send it off for repair.
cruzer
Pros: this bat is amazing i got it and i felt like i could swing as hard as i want because when you hit the ball you feel nothing. just because its not expensive doesn't mean its bad, marucci cares about their customers
Cons:
Coach Buss in WA
Pros: Bought this bat due to the new bat restrictions being placed at all levels and figured it would be a great transition bat for my 13 year old to BBCOR bats. He found it to have great balance, characteristics of both a metal bat for durability and a composite bat for great pop in the sweet spot. He's a line drive hitter but has hit a few bombs to the deeper fences. Great bat for a contact hitter.
Cons: Sweet spot is not as big as the full composites. (But is still a great bat or equal when compared to more expenseve bats!) Not a well known bat so getting full "buy in" from a youth is important when all his friends are swinging those more expensive Combat, Easton or Demarini bats.

Pros: A lot of pop, real smooth overall a great bat.

Cons: ABSOLUTELY NONE!!!!!!!
Taylor's dad
Pros: Bought this bat for my son and he used it all year. In state all-star tournament he hit 3 bombs. I now have one excited 12 year old.
Cons: End cap came off at district tournament but I glued it in before the state tournament. My son did not want to wait on a replacement.
tadgij
Pros: Excellent pop and great sticky grip with no sting. Lighter kids will really appreciate the extra distance they get from this bat - I know mine did. 9U Travel Team Mgr

TJ
Pros: This bat definitely lives up to expectations. Good pop. Balanced swing weight. No sting. My son hit his first home run the second time out with this bat. Will buy another one for his younger brother.
Cons: Not sure about the white color. Grip doesn't look durable, but these are minor issues.
Sweet Bat
Pros: I bought the 30/22 for my 10 year old. He's tall and strong for his age. He's had it for a couple of months and absolutely loves it. He had been using a -10 Easton, and I was concerned that he'd sacrifice too much bat speed moving to the -8. It hasn't been a problem. The bat is very well balanced; my son gets it around really well; and the ball jumps off it.
Cons: None so far.
Anonymous
Pros: Great pop, very balanced and light. Zero vibration...really allows you to go after it!! As good as any alloy bat out there.
Cons: Grip wears quick
HitForContact
Pros: Balanced, Good Power, Easy to Swing

Pros: My 13 year old son tried a demo of this bat and loves the pop.
Cons: The bat is still new but the end cap is already coming off.
griff
Pros: My son was sad to hear he needed a new bat due to the recent regulation changes. Right out of the box, he began crushing baseballs. He loves it! It is heavier than his old bat, but the weight is distributed evenly and he actually says that this bat feels lighter. The thicker grip/handle is a big plus. The free shipping allowed me to pay for the 3 day shipping. The bat arrived 1 day early! VERY SATITSFIED.

Pros: good poP
Cons: Bat cracked In 2 parts

Pros: Excellent bat for the price! Nice grip!
Cons:
hdelvalle
Pros: Smooth balance weight. Ball flies off the barrell, even off end of the bat. No sting on hands if jammed. Light and easy to swing. Cost is very reasonbale. It is easily comparable to Louisville Slugger Exogrid2 but nearly a $100 cheaper.
Cons: Bat is made in China. Other than that it is a great bat.
Ivey
Pros: My son used borrowed this bat from a teammate for batting practice and it has good pop. The bat is super light and my son used the 31/23 -8 bat and it felt like his 18 oz Easton S1.
Cons: None
Jake
Pros: I am 10 years old, 5'2", 112 lbs and got the 30"/22 oz (-8) Cat 5 for Christmas. This is a good looking bat with great balance, good "ping" and a nice sweet spot. It swings lighter than my -9 rival and I would highly recommend this bat.
Cons: None, great bat!!!
Anonymous
Pros: So far the kids on our team love the bat. They have only used it for batting practice so far but all feedback has been great.

Pros: Amazing POP, very balanced bat, easy to swing!
Cons: None as of yet!
LTCTonyV
Pros: The minute I felt this bat I could feel how well balanced it was. My son (12) told me it felt lighter than his 31/22, its a 31/23. He has had only one game with it so what I can say is it sounds different and the ball comes off with more pop or speed. I would rap this up with you cannot beat the price for this product. We can only see how it holds up! Anyone else I speak with swears by them!
Cons: None
BaseballDAD
Pros: Son just got the bat, hit a stand up triple last night to RF 300 ft, fence. Great balance, great transition bat, sweet looking, nice grip and great pop!!!
Cons: None yet, wish we would have got it sooner, see this bat at a lot of USSSA tourneys this season...must mean something!

Dallas
Pros: Great bat! Classic look with simple color scheme. Big sweet spot with good pop.
Cons: Over-priced!
KevinOK
Pros: Good pop. Average size sweet spot. Very balanced.
Cons: Not enough sweet spot, could use another 3/4 inch of full size barrel before taper.
theking
Pros: great great GREAT pop. good out of the wrapper was in a 2 for 30 slump , then next 30 at bats 19 hits really great bat doesnt sting at all
Cons: doesnt have a big sweetspot , but you it makes up for the pop and balance
ROCKINGNM
Pros: Balanced perfectly, maintains power through the stroke. My son's put 3 out with it this year and another boy on our team put out 4 more, they're 10 years old, our fields are 270-295ft. No stingers and the boys don't feel the need to wear gloves with this bat. Barring any more last minute bat rule changes, I think we found one that will last a few years.
Cons: Knob is made of rubber with a screw in plastic insert, the insert started falling out the second week he had it, Marucci gave me an RMA but it was only good for 2 weeks and he didn't want to be without it. That was in January, knob still slips out from time to time but he just pushes it back in and cranks em out.
clayton
Pros: great pop no sting big sweet spot
Cons: grip tears
Gregg
Pros: My 13 yr old son loves the bat. hits bombs. All the kids on the team use his bat or bought their own.
Cons: After 6 months the end cap broke off and the bat started to rattle. I emailed Marucci and sent the bat back. They replaced it in one day with a brand new one. Great customer service. Got the bat back in time for the next tournament.

The Bull

Cons: only a drop 8 so a bit heavier than Easton S3
Tim
Pros: Amazing pop. Good balance. My son got this bat at the start of his U13 USSSA season. He got the 32/24. It quickly became the team's favorite bat over bats that cost more than twice as much. More than a dozen homers were hit in their first tournament.
Cons: Grip is a weakness. Keeps coming apart. Got a dent in the first tournament, but JustBats traded for a new one.
Coach C.
Pros: Got this bat for my son who needed a drop eight for tournement play. He won an mvp award the second game in with the cat five. he loves the bat and know its the most populer bat on the team.
Cons: None.
Orcutt Boys

homerunking34
Pros: this bat has a lot of pop. I thought that switching from my drop 11 bat to this bat wud slow down my swing but its the same. you dont even feel the ball touch the bat.
Cons: NONE
Coach 9
Pros: -8 handles like a 10 drop. Very balanced bat. Good handle shape with flare at knob. Very hot and dampens vibration well. This bat is a winner. Seeing more plate confidence with the kids vs the worth and easton bats we were using!
Cons: Nothing.
Pete5
Pros: Great pop, light swing weight for weaker guys or when the pitcher is throwing gas.
Cons: I barely got to use it because it was to light for me.
beastlykid47

Tuckdog the Muckdog
Pros: Great bat! Great feel when you make solid contact! Anti-vibration knob is great, love the grip! I'm hitting bombs! Marucci has done it!
Cons: no way
Tommy
Pros: The bat is great. My son is 8 and I purchased the 29/21 for him and it's a perfect match. We've already used it in the cage a few sessions and in a couple of games. My son loves it. We've used the easton bats before and had problems with them denting. This CAT 5 is awesome. Yes the bat will get dirty but who cares, it's a baseball bat not a barbie doll:-)
Cons: NONE!!!

Pros: I realy liked this bat my first tournament with it In Vegas I went 5 for 8 lots of pop i hit bomb a bomb that one hop the fence 300 foot fence

Pros: My 12 year son swings Easton bats all one piece and has had great success with them. I read the reviews on this bat and said lets try it. First game he played with this bat 3 for 4, 2 triples and a double. Great pop, sound, no sting and he can get around on it with ease. best part is I spend over 300 to 400 a bat from Easton and got a steal on this bat..$122 delivered to the door....
Cons: NONE
jacpod

g$24
Pros: amazing bat excellent balance and great pop no vibration at all. fantastic grip
Cons: none at all except too much power
P2dad
Pros: Good pop, and very nice price. Since I don't mind a dirty grip ( means kids using it) and chipped paint (means he's hitting the ball). I will be buying another one for my younger son this fall. JustBats had it in my hands in 3 days. Good deal all the way around.
Cons: None.
G
Pros: Amazing bat. Great pop and great balance. Definitely worth the price
Cons: No
big hit
Pros: This is an awesome bat, Since i've owned it I have hit three triples five doubles and so many singles I cant even count!
Cons: Gets spots from hitting alot
USSSA Dad
Pros: The bat is a beast. Do not get caught up in the "if it cost more it has to be better thought process". My son just turned 9 and has been using it in kid pitch for a while. Feels like a 28/17. Great pop. My son is 4'9" 85lbs. He hits rockets deep. He has no problem getting around on the ball.
Cons: NOT ONE!!!!
strick jr
Pros: Great pop. We just bought it for my son it we like the balance it supplies
Cons: None buy it
BigsDaddyNak
Pros: Has a very light and balanced swing. My 12 yr. old son uses it for travel ball and now the whole team is using it. My son went from 30" 18 oz. to a 30" 22 oz. big barrel with no problem. It took less than a week for him to get used to it.
Cons: The whole team is using it.
rebel2400
Pros: Son plays competitive youth ball (60+ games). Ball pops off the bat as well as prior owned composite bat. Bat (-8) swings lighter than it is because of weighting in the handle.
Cons: After 4 months, the handle cap popped off. The bat worked fine through the season by tamping the handle back down. Marucci replaced the bat on warranty, and I gave my son a chance to turn it in for a different bat, but he'll play with the Marucci next year.
RB8
Pros: Great bat for the price. I got this for my 11 year old son for a fall league. Most of the team left their DeMarinis, Eastons, etc. in their bags and wanted to use the Cat 5. Several players hit the ball over the 220 ft fence with it. This bat got lots of use over the ten game fall league and so far doesn't have any dents. I will probably get another one when it wears out.
Cons: Kind of small sweet spot - between the "T and 5". If your son has a good eye, it should be no problem. Even an inch or two above or below still produces good solid hits.
Harrison
Pros: I bought this bat last week and its amazing. It has great pop and is good for line drive and power hitters. It doesn't chip and I like to keep my bats looking good so I got this thing called magic eraser and it looks like it hasn't been used. I would recommend this to everybody.
Cons: Nothing so far
