Description

The Marucci Bat Company™ takes pride in turning top quality wooden baseball bats in the same tradition and precise technique of the earliest bat companies. Every Marucci Bat™ is cut, calibrated, balanced, buffed and lacquered by hand. The Marucci Bat Company™ uses top grade Maple billets cut from selected, naturally grown trees in Pennsylvania forests. This selection process insures the highest possible grade of wood for each bat. The Marucci Bat Company™ bats are 100 percent handmade or turned in small batches from an original design, then finished and detailed by hand. Each model is made to exacting specifications maximizing balance and ease of handling. The Marucci Bat Company™ uses an Ultra Penetrating Stain that provides the best possible finish for your next Marucci Bat. Most impressive is the Bone Rubbing technique that The Marucci Bat Company™ uses. "Boning" bats began in the earliest days of baseball with players like Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. These Hall-of-Famers would spend hours in their dugouts rubbing their bats with old cow femur bones. Bone Rubbing closes the wood`s pores, compressing it and making it harder. Marucci uses the same technique on their bats, rubbing before the finish is applied to seal and harden the wood. Just another example of how Marucci takes the same pride in their bats as our baseball heroes once did. Experience the excellence of a Marucci Bat with the CU26YB. Free Shipping! Pros: Great feel and balance. Solid feedback at contact. Confidence at the plate with this in my hands, I feel like I can hit as well with this as I do with my Nike Aero CX2! I know I could go yard with this bat from either side of the plate! Thanks Marucci for making a sweet bat!

Good not great Kevin Manning parent

Pros: Good balance, nice finish. Pretty decent pop for wood bat

Cons: I know its a wood bat and basically can brake at any time. But man only lasted around 10 games total. Was originally bought for BP for which it served its purpose. But had to use it in a wood bat game over weekend, and first jam job bat cracked. Finish is pretty but gets dinged up quick and often. Bat only lasted 3 months total with BP and about 10 actual games, expect more for 70$. Bamboo wood purchased still going strong approaching 2 years of hard use, and was only 50$

New to wood bats Ace parent

Pros: Being new to the whole "wood bat" leagues for the kids as they do here in New York, i saw a couple of kids use this bat so i figured that i would buy one for my son (12) and my daughter (9). The first couple of games both kids consistently hit line drives all over the field. Very nice pop (if you want to say a wood bat has pop anyway).

Cons: After a week or so, my daughter gets up to bat and cracks the bat in half and she is only 9. Later that day, i go to my sons game and the same thing happens, he cracks his bat in half. Now, i would semi expect for him to break a bat or two, but my daughter??? Maybe it was a bat batch of wood.

30" Marucci Chase Utley Maple Wood Bat Dickens K. Malave coach

Pros: The Marucci bats have a great solid feel when you hit the baseball. The 30" Marucci bat is better handled by the bigger/stronger 12 year olds.

Cons: My son is a small 12 year old and the 30" bat seems to be a bit too long and heavy for him. He's sticking with the 29" Marucci for now until he grows a little bigger and stronger in the near future.

2 Broken Marucci's Tim Ockerman parent

Pros: Looks pretty as an ornament in the corner of your kids room.

Cons: 2 Broken! This is the second of these Maple Maruccis that my 10 year old son broke in batting practice. We were conscious of bat orientation and it wasn't abused. The first one was broken in the first few weeks of the Fall '17 season and the second was broken in the first practice!! By a skinny little kid, which should never happen! This is a very poor product with inferior material. Marucci should refund!

Pros: My 12yr old son has been using this bat in his Little League Baseball games for more than a month now. It seems very strong, durable, and well balanced. Pros: This is a solid bat for kids who are swinging wood for the first time. The cupped end helps balance the heavier weight the younger crowd is not used to. Bat is being used by several members of the team during BP and games and is holding up well. Keep in mind, drop 5 or 6, not 10-11

Better then USABat offerings 108Laces coach

Pros: This bat has more pop then "USABat" bats. If your son/daughter can weild the -5 to -7 weight, then this is the ticket. Plus the sound just clicks off the barrel. The wood is dense, the weight is ideal and very balanced. Remember, contacdt with the label up!

Cons: Your player should have a decent set of swing mechanics in order to square one up wiht this (or any wood bat). They aren't forgiving and if a kid mis-hits it - he'll get a stinger..

5 Star Great Bat!!! K.Eckerson parent

Pros: My son loves this bat!!! he is 12 yrs old with a small frame and I thought he might have trouble swinging it and I was wrong. The bat seems like it is a little bit lighter than -5 and has NO vibration to it. He has a Easton Hyperlight ghost 31 -11 that he has been using (Vibrates like crazy if you don't hit the sweet spot) and I believe that this bat has a better pop to it!! These new USA bats are GARBAGE.. $300 for a bat that hits balls barely out of the infield is a joke!!! he has been using it for practice and is hitting solid line drives with it (most to the fence at 225). My son will be using this bat for fall travel ball, so well shall see how it goes... I think wood is the way to go right now and I will be sticking with Marucci maple! Not heavy enough Michael Coach

Pros: Feels balanced.

Cons: Too light in weight. I know wood bats vary but it ended up being a -7. One of the reasons I wanted a wood bat for my 9-year old was to get one that was heavier than his -8 aluminum USAbat. It's hard to find a youth wood bat that's heavier than the aluminum ones.

Pros: Good training tool and helps with learning about the feel of Mis hits versus sweet hits. Durability is good thus far and feels really solid. Did not check weight but feels like a true drop -5. Finish is amazing. Looks so good my son was hesitant to use it. He says the pop is not as much as his mako beast but thinks it will get better with time.

Cons: Not hot out of the wrapper but it is not a composite bat so not expected.

Firecracker!!! D. Fisher Coach

Pros: Excellent pop!!! Sounds Amazing on solid contact!!! A tab bit more end loaded than the CUTCH22YB, and slimmer handle profile in comparison...but all in all a very good balanced solid performing bat! My son is a small 12 yr old with pretty good swing mechanics and pretty strong for his size and whips this thing like nobody's business! We wrapped the handle for a bit more control and he loves it!!!

Cons: NONE WHATSOEVER!!!...weight/balance/length comes down to individual preference, height/weight, strength of your kid, and their abilities.

My 8 year old currently uses a Louisville Slugger Maple wood that is 28 inches. He gets around on it just fine but could use some better bat speed in the game. How durable is this bat? Alejandro
The Marucci Chase Utley Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat: CU26YB is a maple bat. These bats are less prone to flaking as is common with a maple bat compared to an ash. Unfortunately, there is no way of telling how long a wood bat can last. It can last as little as one swing or an infinite amount essentially; it all comes down to a player's ability to consistently hit the ball on the barrel. This bat does come with a 30 day warranty, which most youth players will break their wood bats within that time frame, so if/when the bat breaks one could potentially get it replaced by contacting Marucci.

The bat has an approximate -5 length to weight ratio, so a 30" bat is about 25 oz. Some players using wood for the first time drop down an inch to assist in the transition to a wood bat, so a 29" model would work as well.

My son just turned 12 & has used the composite Mako up to this coming spring season. I bought him a bamboo bat 31' off here (blue one) and he seems to swing it okay! Of course it"s a transition from his Mako in a 30 inch -11 drop weight that he used last season. So what wood should he use? He is 5"3' & just around 100lbs. Hollywood_707
Player preference will vary when dealing with types of wood bats. Typically, we see maple wood being the more popular option due to its strength. I would recommend the Marucci Chase Utley Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat: CU26YB in a 31 inch length for your player.
Dan
My son is 8. Uses a 28 and 29 drop 10. New USA rules, we want to go wood. Any suggestions? We are thinking the Chase Utley Marucci. Sammy
The Marucci Chase Utley Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat: CU26YB is a great bat that will offer a balance swing weight feel. With regards to an 8 year old player that is accustomed to swinging a -10 metal bat, this wood bat may not be a good fit due to the -5 length to weight ratio. As well, wood bats will break especially a youth model that has more weight taken out of the wood. When you factor in the inconsistent swing of a youth player then it can become expensive using wood bats exclusively. Would recommend the Marucci Chase Utley Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat: CU26YB more for training purposes and use a USA approved metal bat for games and practices.

What is the difference between the Marucci Youth Chase Utley wood bat and the Andrew McCutchen bat? Maple vs Cherry? How do they differ? Thank you. mark vasey
The Marucci Chase Utley Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat: CU26YB features a 2 1/4 inch barrel diameter. The Marucci Limited Edition Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat: CUTCH22CG Grey/Cherry Adult features a 2 5/8 barrel diameter and is comparable to the i73 turn model. If you are looking for a bat for a younger player, the Marucci Chase Utley Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat: CU26YB might be the better option.

My son is going to be 11, is 77 lbs. and 5 feet tall. He used a 31 inch Mako last year, and it was hard for him to get around with although he's growing quickly. I am worried that with the new bat standards many bats will be too heavy and was hoping if he practiced with a wooden bat it would be helpful. What do you think of this? And what size? Tina
Practicing with a wood bat definitely wouldn't hurt. Since it will be heavier, it will build swing strength, and wood isn't all that forgiving, so it will help teach him where to hit the ball properly. Based on your player's height and weight, I would suggest a 30" Marucci Chase Utley Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat: CU26YB.

My son is 10 yrs old and 65 lbs. He currently swings a Louisville catalyst 29 inch drop -11. Do you recommend a 28 or 29 inch? Steve O
Based on he age and weight and the face he currently swings a 17 ounce bat I would recommend the Marucci Chase Utley Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat: CU26YB in a 28".

With the C. Utley bat - what is the weight of a 29inch bat? dbomb
The Marucci Chase Utley Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat: CU26YB has an approximate -5 length to weight ratio. Therefore a 29" bat would be roughly 24oz. Wood bats do tend to vary by an ounce or two because the wood will vary from bat to bat.
Tyler
What would the weight of a 31 inch bat be in this bat model? Everett C
This bat is roughly a -5 drop, so a 31" would weigh about 26 oz. It won't be exact due to varying densities of the wood however.

What"s a bat would you recommend for a 10U big barrel? My son is 9 & swings a 29 inch 19 oz or 29' 20oz. baseball dad
If he was swinging a 29"/20 ounce bat I would think he would be good with a 29" Marucci Chase Utley Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat: CU26YB. To make a more accurate recommendation through we would need his height and weight.

What do you recommend for a 4"9' 81 lbs. player? Seeking large barrel wood bat for Little League. He has a aluminum USA stamped 29' 19 oz baeball dad
Most youth wood bats, like the Marucci Chase Utley Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat: CU26YB, will feature a small barrel at 2 1/4" in diameter. Based on your player's height and weight, we would recommend getting the Marucci Chase Utley Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat: CU26YB in a 30 inch. This bat will weigh 25 ounces so it all comes down to whether or not you feel he can handle the additional 6 ounces.
Cameron
Do wood bats see a decline in performance with use like an aluminum bat or does performance stay relatively the same until it breaks? mike
Wood bats will have the same level of performance until they break.
Kyle J.
Is this bat Little League approved for the 2018 season? stephanie
This bat will not have the USA Baseball stamp that most leagues require, but they way we understand the rules in regards to wooden bats is that any solid maple, ash, or birch bat does not require the certification stamp to be legal, so this bat would be allowed. For further clarification I would check with your coach or league commissioner.

My grandson is 5' tall, 130lbs and he is 12 1/2 yrs old going into Juniors this fall. What size would be best for him? He was using a 31" metal bat. Should I get an adult or a youth? Debbie W
Given your player's specifications, I would still recommend a 31" bat. This bat is a (-5) which will provide a lighter option than an adult model which would be a (-3.)
Tyler
