The weight of a -5 bat that is 30 inches long would be 25 ounces. To obtain the weight of a bat all you have to do is subtract the length to weight ratio (in this case a -5) from the length in order to get the weight of the bat in ounces. 30 - 5 = 25.

Unfortunately, there is no way of telling how long a wood bat can last. It can last as little as one swing or an infinite amount essentially; it all comes down to a player's ability to consistently hit the ball on the barrel. This bat does come with a 30 day warranty, which most youth players will break their wood bats within that time frame, so if/when the bat breaks one could potentially get it replaced by contacting Marucci.
