Description

If you've ever dreamed about what it would be like to start ripping shots to all edges of the field and beyond, this is bat to own. The Mattingly Ripped fastpitch softball bat is the newest addition to this classic family of high performing bats. Made from Mattingly's MB5500 Atomic Alloy, the Ripped swings light and stays tough. The MB5500 Atomic Alloy is Mattingly's high-end alloy that blends an array of elements to create one of the hottest materials in the game! The Ripped employs Mattingly's increasingly popular Direct Power Transfer which maximizes energy return to the ball, giving players a noticeably more explosive reaction on contact! The Ripped also features Mattingly's patented V-Grip handle system. Developed by Yankee great Don Mattingly, the V-Grip is specially designed to keep knocking knuckles aligned and shift the bat away from the palm and into the fingers. This forces your grip to be in perfect alignment every time! Additionally, the V-Grip keeps the bat from turning in the hands during the swing, giving players maximum control. In recent field tests, the V-Grip was shown to increase bat speed, power and ball flight distance by an average of 7%! Swing speed is also enhanced by the TRU Balance Weighting System which ensures a perfect weight distribution from top to bottom. Mattingly: Be a Game Changer! The Ripped is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: 8 yr old -We have started this year with this bat and my daughter loves the feel and when she hits the bakll it gives the sound I expect out of this bat! Durable and looks like dependable so far. Thank you Mr Mattingly

Cons: Only draw back is expected with v-grips- same spot on the bat when hitting properly, will shorted life time of bat, but it will outlast my daughter at this level going up in length and weight.

Will going up in length, but staying at same weight, decrease bat speed? IOW... Will bat speed be reduced if a girl goes from a 30"-10 to a 32"-12? Coach K
The longer length of the bat might slow down bat speed slightly. But shouldn't be dramatic since you are keeping weight the same.

does this bat have the v-grip handle joan
No. It has a traditional round handle.
Derek
Your expert said this bat has a traditional round handle. This is not correct - this grip has a V-grip rod
This bat does, in fact, have a V grip. Thanks for the correction.
Linda
Is this bat composite? Bri
No it is a one piece all alloy bat.
Linda
My daughter's coach recommended a 31" -12 Mattingly V Grip bat for her in her local Travel League -- she is 10 YO --Is this suitable? Ted
The 31 inch would be an appropriate size for your daughter.

Hi! Are you familiar with the performance of the MB5500 Atomic Allow in the Mattingly V-Grip Ripped Fastpitch Bat? Thanks. James
The MB5500 Atomic Alloy is Mattingly's highest end alloy so it will perform better than their bats that do not have it.
Damon
looking for a good not so costly bating cage bat for practice, your not supposed to use composit bats in the bating cage right? she has a miken freak and a miken rain not cheap i do not want to damage them. scott
Once you break in the composite bats, it's best not to use them in the cage. That just depreciates the life of the bat, so most people do purchase a cheap bat for batting practice. The Mattingly would definitely be a good option for what your needing.
