Pros: Bat has pop right out of the wrapper. Keep this bat warm do not let it get cold. People freak out when they see it. Umpire's and other team always check to see if it is legal. Hot bat, must buy.

Cons: It's white, gets dirty, and needs to be warm to get the most out of it.

Pros: bat feels very balanced. has great pop right out of the wrapper. I also have a Miken freak fx700 that i have had for over a year that proably has about 2000 hits on it. I swapped between the 2 taking batting practice. only difference i can tell between the 2 is the sound when hitting the ball and the weight. the ultra has a more hallow sound compared to the more solid sound in the fx700. the ultra is a 34in 28oz and the fx700 is a 34in 27oz with 1.5oz end load. the balanced feel makes it feel a lot lighter then the endloaded bats.

Cons: shows ball marks very easy. other than that no issues.

Pros: This bat has a nice sound to it. I swing it and a few doublewalls and this seems to give a very solid sweetspot swing each time. It's not a guaranteed homer bat, but has good pop.

Pros: Good pop while it lasted

Cons: After the third game the end cap cracked in half and the barrel had a crack that was 1.5" long. Sent to Miken they replace the end cap but said the bat wasn't cracked. They claim it is just a decal flaking off. This is a crack. Sorry Miken you just lost a long time customer.

Pros: Great pop right out of wrapper. Feels good and swings great. great addition to my arsenal.

Cons: end cap broke in half in 4th game. sent back to miken and they replaced the endcap. this bat is only for warm weather and make sure you don't hit too many of the top. We will see how it responds now that i just got it back .

Pros: I used an Easton Salvo SRV5, for the past two seasons, and we all know how great that bat is. In USSSA I use my Easton Stealth Brett Helmer edition. With both bats I have serious HR power, but I'm a big guy. I ordered this bat with the hope of getting even more. First day out with the bat with the wrapper just taken off, I hit 7 balls over the wall, out of the 10 hits we get in BP. The bat is very solid and has a great ton of pop. Our fence is 300' and the balls we use a 44cor 375lb compression.

Cons: Only problem I have with this bat is it gets dirty quickly, but it's a bat...I'll deal with it.

Pros: Feels lighter than 30 oz. Im a little guy with quick bat speed and a little pop. never pulled down left firld line with a 30 before, but i can with this bat. Ordered it on a thursday night, it was there friday afternoon. Only found the sweet spot once, but have hit several bombs off the end cap and a few deep outs off the taper. Love the sound it makes. Highly recommend this bat for anyone, ASA or USSSA, it doesnt matter.

Cons: I found theres not as much pop out of the wrapper as others have found, but i can tell it will open up soon, so i guess its not a complete con...

Cons: paint chipped early, but i was hittin in 56 degree weather, wouldnt see a problem in 65 degree weather.

Pros: Great Looking bat with a ton of potential. nice grip! very well balanced

Cons: Bat has little pop out of the wrapper, after about a practice with the whole team using it to break it in, the bat came alive, and some big bombs got hit. Then I noticed a small crack, thought it may just be a stress...hit about 5 more balls, and the crack is now about 4.5" long, sending it back to miken. under 200 swings

Pros: Took this bat out for the first time today. Got in around 50 hits. Bat hits very well out of wrapper. Sweet spot feels large and even hits of end of barrel traveled well. Seemed to open up at around only 20 hits. Best ASA bat I have ever hit with! I also liked the thicker cushy grip, it's thicker than most Miken bats.

Cons: I guess some of you like to keep your bats shinny, that will be tough with this white bat.

Pros: Definitely has some solid pop, very good quality for the price and sounds great too. I use it in my regulation ASA ball with the improper balls and it works pretty well but played an exhibition game with some seniors who played with the balls it's meant for and what a difference, ball was exploding off the bat. Another great bat from Miken!

Cons: End cap broke off after about 300 hits, all covered under warranty though, so no worries.

I have a Super Freak that is a 28oz. Mid-Loaded if I get a 30oz. balanced will it feel and swing about the same? J
The 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch bat will be a One-Piece 100% Composite design. This bat will have a Balanced Swing Weight. If the previous bat you were using had any End Loaded feel at all, you will notice a difference in the way it swings. If you are trying to go up in weight to off set the balanced feel of this 2013 Ultra, I think you will still feel that it is truly balanced. If you are looking for an End Loaded bat, also look at the 2013 ASA Miken Triad Maxload: STRIMA Slow Pitch.
Brandon
I believe I saw this bat at the 2012 Winter Nationals and the sales rep said this is about 7 - 8 % less than an Ultra II in performance.....is that true? If true that would be one of the best ASA bats on the market and how would it rate against the original (100) mile an hour Freak? Hunter
Unfortunately, we do not have any hard information or statistics about the specific performance levels of new ASA bats. With questions as detailed as that, I recommend contacting Miken at 1-877-807-5291.
Tyler
I have noticed that the new Miken Ultra is only approved for ASA. (same for the new Worths) If it complies with the new 100 MPH standard, why did the other governing bodies i.e. NSA, USSSA, SSUSA, ISA not approve it? The new Eastons are approved by the other Associations. RB 57
The testing has changed for both ASA and USSSA. Please follow this link for a detailed explanation of the testing and certifications done by USSSA and ASA; http://www.justbats.com/blog/index.php/3226/asa-rule-update/.
Kara
Can you use this bat in any league (ASA) or is it not approved in certain ASA leagues? tjkila
The 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch bat is approved for use in ASA Only. It will feature the new ASA stamp and be certified 100 COMP.
Brandon
Can this bat be used in 50 degree temp? moondoggy
Yes. You just need to limit how many hits you put on it in those temperatures.
Tyler
I asked a question back on Dec 4th abut this bat and the new standard and understood that under the new ASA standard the bats would be hotter. I got the new Miken Ultra and the Easton S2 and took them to our city's bat tester and both passed the compression tester that was used to test bats last year. Why are the new bats passing the same compression test as the old bats? (Last year's Synergy was hotter on this test than the new Ultra.) RB57
Unfortunately, we have no say in the testing of bats and do not have the resources to conduct compression tests. I recommend contacting ASA themselves at (405) 424-5266.
Tyler
How is the durability since it has thin walls, and does it get stress cracks quickly? maddog36
Based on the reviews, there has not been any issues with this bats durability. Remember, The 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch bat features a 12 month warranty through Miken if the bat does become defective.
Aubrey
How long will this bat be legal? I went out and purchased the Ultra 2 when it came out, it was legal for one season. Will this bat do the same thing? mouth
The 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch is approved for play in ASA leagues only. Unfortunately we do not find out which bats will be legal for play in the next season until the lists are published for everyone.
Kevin S.
I'm having issues with the new 2013 Ultra ASA, the end cap keeps cracking and breaking off. It's now been replaced twice, I just received my third replacement but I did notice the end cap was different, it appears Miken put the older style end cap back on this one. Both bats were brand new only two weeks old before breaking, absolutely no modifications were done to both bats, not even rolled. Have you heard of this issue or am I the only one experiencing this? GTB
Since the 2013 Mike Ultra was released, we have only received a few reports of cracked endcaps. Based on the number of units sold, this is a very small number and so far, it has displayed above average durability.
Tyler
Can you use this bat in USSSA with the new rules? Lance
The 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch bat only features the new ASA stamp.
Aubrey
Does this bat have the ASA 2012 label on it? JoePk
Yes, the 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch does have the ASA stamp on the bat.
Chad M.
What is the barrel length on this bat? Ryan
The 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch has a barrel length of approximately 13".
Kara
Is this bat designed for the 52 core ball or the 44 core ball? HI OFCR
The 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA meets ASA's new bat standard and is designed for use with the new 52 Cor. softballs.
Tyler
Is it mid or end loaded? Johnnie44
The 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch is a balanced bat.
Kara
SPN rules (Canada) will allow ASA approved bats if they were manufactured prior to January 2012. When were Ultra SOULTA bats actually manufactured? Johnnie44
The 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch began production in mid to late 2012, placing them outside of what your league will allow.
Kevin
How big is the sweet spot? Sanford81
The sweet spot will be very big. The 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch bat will feature Miken's e-flex ultra technology for maximum performance and sweet spot.
Brandon
How will this bat handle hitting .44/375 compression balls if it is meant for the softer .52/300 compression balls? Will it not last as long? Will the balls come off the bat as well as other bats designed for the .44/375? mnsoftball7
The 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA slow pitch bat has the new ASA stamp and is designed to hit the lower compression (50 or 52 COR) softballs. Hitting the higher compression balls with this bat will make it more susceptible to cracking.
Mac
Is this approved for the Senior games in Cleveland this year? Hoover
The 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch is ASA certified so it will be approved for play in Senior Softball as well.
Noah
The bats in our 55+ ASA league must have the 2004 ASA stamp on them, can this bat be used in our league, and if not which bat models carry the above stamp? Ron
The 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA has the new ASA stamp, but does not have the 2004 ASA stamp and would be illegal in your specific league. The bats we have that still carry the old 2004 ASA stamp are: Louisville Slugger TPS Warrior: SB12W, Anderson NanoTek SP Omega: NANOSPO, 2013 Easton Hammer: SP13HM, 2013 Easton Cyclone: SP13CY, 2013 Easton Reflex: SP13RX, 2013 RIP-IT Prototype: S13DA, 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Z-2000 Balanced ASA: SB13ZAB, and 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Z-2000 End Load ASA: SB13ZAE
Tyler
We play in an ASA league but the bats must be 1.2 BPF. Will this bat be legal in this league? Alex
The 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch is only ASA certified. If your league requires 1.20 BPF bats, it sounds like they require USSSA certified bats. I would check with a league official on the legality of bats with only the ASA certification.
Kevin
Dose the 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: Soulta need to be broke in to get better performance out if the bat? jared
The Miken Ultra does come out of the wrapper with good pop, but it does heat up even more after about 200-300 hits to help break up the material.
Derek
I'm 6'2" and 250 lbs with fairly good bat speed. Would you recommend a 28 oz. or 30 oz.? TPA
I would recommend the 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch in a 30 oz. for a player your size. We recommend you choose a weight that you have used in the past and are comfortable with.
Frank
Is this bat considered single wall? David
The terms "single-wall" and "double-wall" only apply to alloy bats. The 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA is a composite bat composed of multiple layers of carbon fibers and resins, but will not be classified as single-wall or double-wall as it is a composite bat.
Tyler
Do have the BPF factor for the Miken SOULTA Ultra? It is not stamped on the bat as per usual. I know it is ASA approved but if you have the BPF factor for this bat, could you let me know? Thanks. ronnie
The 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch does not have the BPF 1.20 stamp. It is approved in ASA only.
Kara
I just bought one, it has about 200 hits on it. I don't feel the power in the bat. I was wondering what balls are best to use for this bat? boom baby
The 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch bat is best to use against the softer compression balls. Like the 50 COR 300 COMP or 52 COR 300 COMP. All newly stamped ASA and USSSA bats will be.
Brandon
What is the difference in ASA and USSSA rated? Play Senior Softball. JLP
Previously ASA had stricter guidelines for testing than USSSA. However the new ASA testing has changed the way bats are tested and perform. The 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch was tested using new ASA standards. For more detailed information regarding the ASA and USSSA testing please visit our blog; http://www.justbats.com/blog/index.php/author/kyle-t
Kara
Hi, is this bat 98 mph or 100+ mph? Thank you. Black_Walrus
The 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch is 100+ mph.
Kara
Does it have a 1.20 BPF? dwa
The 1.20 BPF is the USSSA performance certification. Unfortunately, this 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch would not qualify as it is an ASA model with the newest ASA performance certification and is not approved for USSSA.
Mac
Is this bat NSA approved? cards
The 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch is only approved for ASA play. It only carries an ASA performance certification mark and is not approved for NSA.
Mac
Is the ideal weather to use the bat under 55 degrees or above? The last question said use it below 55 degrees. Also my end cap is different from the picture above. It is a 2013, so why is that? Q
We do not recommend using this bat below 55 degrees because the ball becomes more dense and may damage the bat. Sometimes manufacturer's may make small changes such as end cap or color changes and this could be the reason yours is different.

I am 5'8, 160 lbs and I am a good contact hitter. I am looking for a bat that will put a little more power behind my swing. What oz and bat would you recommend? Padres Fan
The 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch is a balanced bat and best for a hitter than needs to increase their bat speed. The 2014 Miken Ultra 750X Maxload ASA: SULTMA is an end loaded bat and would be better for a player looking to increase their power. We recommend the 34" 26 oz. Miken Ultra 750X Maxload.

About the Brand

During the past few years, serious softball players have looked to Miken Sports for bats that provide the highest levels of performance and durability. Our relentless focus on both technology and the demands of players has made Miken the most demanded line of softball bats today.

Although composites are the latest trend in softball bats, the technology has been the core of Miken's success since the company's inception. Miken pioneered the modern high-performance composite softball bat in 1998 and has pushed the limits with every model since. No other bat company has driven innovation as hard, and the results are indisputable. Look around. If a player is serious about softball, they are most likely swinging a Miken bat.

The success of Miken Sports has been driven by two forces - innovation and a passion for delivering what players demand. The results are obvious. Players have decided that composites are the future for bats, and no one does composite like Miken.
