MTN DEW

Pros: Everyone can hit a home run with this bat. Routine grounders turn into base hits because the balls is too hot.

Cons: Lasted maybe six games, and that was switching out to a different bat to TRY AND SAVE this one.

Pros: It's an Ultra 2. Not much else to say. You can't swing a hotter bat! Hits better than a shaved bat, and definitely better than anything legal. I love the end load feel, but some may not...Beware this end load is an extreme endload!!

Cons: Because of the extreme end load... if you like only a slight endload I would suggest go a a little lighter than what you normally swing with this bat.

Pros: Unbelievable distance. Great Feel.

Cons: Don't not buy if you have huge power hitters on your team. Have watched two of these bats splinter in the sweet spot.

Pros: It could possibly kill the 3rd baseman. Straight hot fire .. The best bat I have used and I have used 50+. I love the skinny grips and it is so light that you would think you are swinging a wiffle ball bat. They also have a long life ..IF YOU GUYS STOP ALLOWING YOUR EQUIPMENT TO FREEZE IN THE WINTER

Cons: NONE AT ALL...

Pros: SUPER HOT! UNBELIEVABLE... If you are a base hitter the grounders will be practically unstoppable. IT IS ILLEGAL (ASA and USSA) FOR A REASON

Cons: Will mow down infielders all day long. I feel sorry for the 3rd baseman trying to play up close.

Bronx Bomber #9

Pros: Awesome power and large sweet spot. Tried several different senior bats and others and nothing comes close to the pop this one has!!!

Cons: They will crack if you are a power hitter. I am 58 yrs. old, 5'8" at 244 lbs. and I now hit the ball over the wall with warning track power. The bat lasted me approx. 50 games before cracking. Just happened yesterday and I'm buying another today. Buying another because in all the years I've played ball I haven't hit it consistently as far as I do now. Would rate 5 stars but durability makes it a 4.

Pros: Loved the pop. I'm a little guy and the outfield moves in. Big mistake using this thing.

Cons: Two months into the season (6 games, less than 30 at bats) two cracks. It's done. Loved the bat, but it needed to last longer. I want another one but...fool me once.

Kara
what miken bat would good be good for a 280lbs power hitter Big Ted
If your looking strictly at Senior Softball bats, the Ultra II is going to have the most pop off the bat. After the Miken, I would have to recommend the 2013 Worth 454 Senior Softball bat. Here are teh links to view both bats and compare. http://www.justbats.com/product/miken-ultra-ii-maxload-senior-softball--msu2m-slow-pitch/9291/ http://www.justbats.com/product/2013-worth-454-senior-softball--sbrha-slow-pitch/15050/
Derek
The actual BPF on this bat is 1.21. Is it still a legal Senior Softball bat? Mike
Yes, for most Senior Softball league there is not a restriction for BPF rating. This is why Senior League bats can have a rating over 1.20. I would check directly with your league official first to see if your league follows typical senior softball leagues.
Ryan
I'm just looking for a bat for home run derbys and only that because I play in ASA League. Would you recommend this bat? Milkriver34
The Miken Ultra II Maxload Senior Softball is one of the hottest non-ASA bats on the market. This would be an excellent choice for a home run derby.
Kara
I replaced my 28 oz. when it cracked with a 30 oz. I haven't hit as well since the change. I am 6 feet three inches, 255 pounds. Am I likely to adjust to the new bat or would I be better off to go back to the 28 oz bat? Rick
That's a very difficult question for us to answer without being able to see and analyze your swing with different size bats. If you've had previous success with a 28 oz. bat, I would recommend moving back to that weight.
Tyler
Does the Ultra 2 composite bat require a break in of 'x' nuber of hits to gain max performance? Wayne
Composite bats require 150-200 swings off a tee or soft toss to break in properly.
Damon
I've never used a composite bat before only alumn 26oz; which of the two mike ultra II bats would you recommend i purchase and do i keep the same weight (26oz)? thank you for your response in advance speedy
If you are a stronger hitter with higher swing speeds, the Miken Ultra II Maxload Senior Softball: MSU2M is recommended for it's endloaded feel. If you do not have above average strength and swing speed, the Miken Ultra II Senior Softball: MSU2 is recommended because it's a balanced bat. If you have been using a 26 oz. model with success, the same weight would be recommended.
Tyler
Under bat features the BPF is 1.21. When looking at the bat close up picture the bat says 1.20. Which is it? Keith

No other bat company has driven innovation as hard, and the results are indisputable. Look around. If a player is serious about softball, they are most likely swinging a Miken bat.

The success of Miken Sports has been driven by two forces - innovation and a passion for delivering what players demand. The results are obvious. Players have decided that composites are the future for bats, and no one does composite like Miken.
