Pros: This BBCOR bat is like none other out on the market. I have tried many BBCOR bats and this one was easily the best. The balance of the bat is amazing and far better than most BBCOR's. The pop on this bat is BESR comparable. All of the coaches at my organization unamimously agreed this is the best BBCOR on the market.
Cons: Grip tape is very good, but doesn't last very long
Pros: great balance. large sweet spot. no sting
Cons: grip nice but like all bats doesn't last long
Pros: Just got this bat the other day. Is a lot more balanced than anyother bbcor bats I have felt. THe pop on this bat seeems very good for bbcor and is comparable to BESR. The graphics are cool too, the barrel is very long. Grip seems good, not to thich and hands do not slip easily.
Cons: None yet, some say grip doesn't last long.
Pros: This bat has great pop. It has a longer sweet spot than any other bats we have tried, and seems to be really well balanced.
Cons: None so far..
Pros: Very good pop for a BBCOR bat. Has pop comparable to a BESR and very balanced. Used other BBCORs,(Easton, Marucci, Nike)but very impressed with this bat.
Cons: None yet.
Pros: Its not top heavy . One of the best bbcore bats you can get. Has great pop.
Cons: The handle is great but doesnt last long. But just get a new grip
Pros: LOVER THE BAT
Cons: NONE
Pros: This bat isn't top heavy at all and has great balance.Hits great and actually sounds pretty good to be a BBCOR bat. I have tried the TPX exo, the rawlings machine, Prototype 2 and have picked up a vodoo (top heavy) but this is my favorite.
Cons: I really dont see any cons but we have only been using it for about 3 weeks.
Pros: great pop better then besr voodoo hands down. best bbcor on the market
Cons: none some say grip doesnt last but nothing pine tar and tape cant fix
Pros: best bbcor i have hit with. well balanced and lots of pop
Cons: paint chipping
Pros: Best bat on the market, whole bat is a sweetspot, best pop of any bbcor, As good or better than the rip it prototype 2,great grip with great feal, great balance
Cons: grip comes off quickly
Pros: Great bat! Seems to be weighted just off the handle, which allows you to accelerate through the zone. The pop is not what we came to expect from BESR, but is very good. Comparing to other BBCOR's (Marrucci, Nike, Demarini, and Louisville Slugger), this bat is, in my opinion, superior. I had a Z1000 and have since put it away, in order to swing this Rawlings. It also has a different "ping" sound, similiar to BESR aluminum bats. The price also makes it a very good buy, compared to the other bats on the market.
Cons: None
Pros: Great bat. Very ballanced.
Cons: None so far
Pros: Love the bat has good popand sounds good
Cons:
Pros: well balanced, large sweetspot for a bbcor, and great grip
Cons: Grip wears down easy, and the bat gets scratched easy
Pros: this bat is amazing. grip is awsome, sweet spots is huge, i was hitting farther with this bat than with my nike cx2 composite. no lie. this bats isnt top heavy its easily the best bat on the market right now
Cons: the design of the bat could be nicer
Pros: Son loves the bat. Nice sweet spot.. It is a keeper
Cons: Concern about the grip from other reviews but no problem so far.
Pros: balanced
Cons: Barrel is way tonsmall and theres a little sweet spot Spend $50 more dollars and get a voodoo
Pros: it started off with great pop! The grip tape is nice and soft, no vibration when jammed!
Cons: scratched eaasily, tape doesn't last, the pop begins to slowly get less and less.
Pros: The most balanced bat I have swung. Alot better than the regular 5150.
Cons: None yet and hope never
Pros: Nice pop off the bat.Great looking
Cons: Grip ok going to change it
Pros: The balance of the velo is amazing. All my teammates are dropping their regular 5150's and swinging the velo!
Cons: There will be complaints from opposing teams of how the 5150 velo is too much of a boss to be BBCOR.
Pros: the weight of this bat is evenly distributed and feels lighter than the weight it says. It hits and feels like no other bbcor bat on the market. ive already hit 2 home runs with it, im a junior in high school and this bat is the way to go.
Cons: NONE
Pros: This is by far the best bbcor bat I have swung. The pop is comparable to besr bats. This bat has a huge barrel and huge sweet spot. Better than the 5150 alloy because it is more balance and feels really light.
Cons: The grip doesn't last long, but I like how athletic tape feels better anyway.
Pros: Im 13 hit 3 over already great bat and graphics.
Cons: none
Pros: It seems like every bat on the market is "the best BBCOR bat ever made!" and has "more pop than a BESR!" I can honestly say that this bat is the best BBCOR i have swung this year. I've used an Easton XL1 and an S2, the original 5150, a Marucci Black and an Omaha, and the 5150 velo is the best hands down. Swings light, hits like a 2 piece, but solid like a 1 piece. It's definitely worth every penny.
Cons: It's got a pretty significant rattle for hitters who aren't as strong, especially when compared to the Marucci black. However, if you've got good bat speed, you can't beat the pop of this bat.
Pros: this is a very well balanced bat with lots of pop to it, one of the better bbcor bat out there, would highly recommend this bat.
Cons: after a week some of the matte finish started to come off but that doesnt really effect the performance so...
Pros: It has great pop and doesn't vibrate when you hit it off the handle like most bats it has good sound and I love it
Cons: ....
Pros: good pop, good balance and nice sweetspot
Cons: none
Pros: This is by far the best BBCOR bat out there. This bat cant be stopped. Great pop. Nothing can stand up to this.
Cons: NONE
Pros: awsum
Cons:
Pros: Good balance, good feel. Pop is a relative term with BBCOR's.
Cons: End cap chipped the first weekend it was used. Sending it back for a new one. We'll see if this is a common problem with these bats in time.
Pros: Good pop
Cons: Top heavy
Pros: Excellent bat!! Hit 6 homeruns this year with this bat with one being a grand slam 2 weeks ago. Can't wait for the new Velo 5150 to come out.
Cons: Had to replace the grip tape. It peeled off.
Pros: amazing bat little top heavy but great pop ball connects real well and it does a great job of finding holes
Cons:
Pros: I just got this bat and have been using it in the cages and its great! I got a Easton Rival drop 5 for my eighth grade year and it is usssa stamped and the 5150 velo is bbcor and the 5150 had more pop by far even though it is suppose to have less pop witht the new bat rule
Cons: none yet but i have only had it for 2 days so far
Pros: This bat is amazing, the sound whenever the ball comes off of the bat is like the old BESR ping. And the ball really carries. Plus South Carolina Game Cocks use this bat so that should say how amazing it is right there lol.
Cons: Everyone wants to use it.. But thats normal with a new bat haha
Pros: I bought this 2 in different lengths for 2 sons. The older, HS Jr, power hitter loved the balance and hit very well. The younger brother,HS freshman, contact hitter- loved the balance and crushed the ball also. Best BBCOR I've seen yet. I have always spent way more on hitting lessons vs. bats but this is a great price.
Cons: None yet.
Pros: This is better than my sons previous bat, which was a Cat 5. Very balanced. Swings very light and produces loud ping sound. Good Pop.
Cons: scratches easily, had to tape grip with athletic tape
Pros: epic pop, completely balanced, second best bbcor bat on the market just behind the rawlings machine
Cons: nothing.
Pros: Excellent sweet spot. I have only had one chance to use it a game situation but it came through for me!
Cons: None so far.
Pros: This bat has amazing pop for a BBCOR bat. Swings light for a -3. I highly suggest this bat for the smaller player making the move to a -3
Cons: NONE
Pros: Solid contact. Doesn't hurt the hands.
Cons: Loud pinging noise. Overall good
Pros: Everything. The pop, the swing speed, and a lot of other things. This bat acts like a non BBCOR.
Cons: None.
Pros: My son just starting using this bat for travel and high school. This bat has pop. His teammates keep questioning him if it's BBCOR. For the price you can't beat it. If you're looking for a good bat at a reasonable cost, this is it!
Cons: I don't see it being one of the more popular bats in the rack, but who cares.
Pros: This bat is amazing. It's so balanced, and it has AMAZING pop for a BBCOR bat. I'm a smaller kid. 5'3 125, so I don't need a bat that's gonna weigh me down. But this bat feels so much lighter and the ball rockets off the bat. excellent bat.
Cons: Absolutely none.
Pros: Best BBCOR bat I have ever used! The pop on this is amazing! Its like a trampoline, but still is very balanced. Sweet spot makes the ball fly, even if you do not swing that hard.
Cons: Grip tape but you could just tape over
Pros: Great pop, and great grip. I RECOMMEND!
Cons: Top heavy.
Pros: Great Bat. Best BBCOR Bat I have ever used. Well balanced, the grip is amazing.
Cons: The grip is great, but it doesnt last long. Mine started to peel off about two and a half months after buying it.
Pros: Awesome Pop.
Cons: NONE
Pros: Once you break it in, it has really nice pop. It has a pretty good sized sweet spot. It's also very durable.
Cons: The grip isn't the best, but nothing to worry about because you can get it regripped. Also, the paint chips easily but it's not a big deal.
Pros: This bat has an amazing sweatspot and a very long barrel. This bat is probly the most balenced bbcor but that I have swung.
Cons: Not the most comfortable grip iv
Pros: Great pop for a BBCOR. Well balanced.
Cons: Nothing
Pros: Great balance, great pop. I'm crushing the ball.
Cons: Makes loud ping noise like a cat5.
Pros: It's an awesome bat!
Cons: None:)
Pros: This bat has major pop! My son is not the biggest and he had no problem driving the deep in the gap all weekend at a varsity tournament!
Cons: No complaints at this time.
Pros: This is the second 5150 VELO my son has owned. The first one had a lot of action with the entire team using it. Hands down the best balanced BBCOR bat available. Great pop!
Cons: None.
Pros: DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON ANY OTHER BAT! Ive already hit 3 homeruns with this bat and my coach moved me to 4th in the lineup. If you can hit the sweet spot on the bat it will go over no doubt!
Cons: I would redo the grip its awesome but it will tear up after while
Pros: great bat has tons of pop. i am 13 years old and just got the bat 1week ago and already loving it. hit 4 homeruns already. !!
Cons: none
Pros: good balance. good pop
Cons:
Pros: has great pop, love the grip.
Cons: I've only had the bat for 1 week and the cap is chipping in a perfect circle. idk if its going to crack and the cap comes off. Does anyone else have this problem?!
Pros: I used this bat my sophomore year as a team bat and loved it. Found it in the storage room in the fall of my sr year with all the paint basically off and been used as a tee bat for over a year and used it for bp and it felt better than it did before! Just got another off some website. Top of the line bat.
Cons: none other than the paint chips off a bit.

About the Brand
Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.
The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.
In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.
In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.
The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.
Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
