Description

If there are 2 things that can make the game easier, it's a bigger barrel and a lighter M.O.I. The RIP-IT Senior AIR Big Barrel bat gives players exactly that. With a monster 2 3/4 inch barrel diameter, this bat gives the hitter a huge advantage when it comes to making contact. Also showcasing RIP-IT's AIR Technology, this bat is made for speed. By lowering the M.O.I., AIR Technology helps players increase their bat speed and control on every swing. The Senior AIR Big Barrel features a one-piece construction made from R2 Alloy. RIP-IT's strongest alloy ever, R2 Alloy is designed with deeper grooves inside the barrel to produce the fastest and most balanced senior league bat yet! Its Acoustic Barrel design channels and amplifies specific performance frequencies created when perfect contact is made. This results in an almost melodic "ping" sound when you're driving the ball to all edges of the outfield! The handle is outfitted with RIP-IT's Contact Grip that features incredible vibration elimination properties and extreme durability. RIP-IT is so confident you'll love this bat that they're offering a 30 Day Love It or Return It performance guarantee. If you don't like it, simply send it back to RIP-IT within 30 days and they'll give you a full refund. You've got nothing to lose. RIP-IT: Speed Matters! The Senior AIR Big Barrel features the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp. It is backed by a Full 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: What a bat! Lots of pop and definitely feels 'lighter' than the previous Senior Prototype because of the new Air technology.. Got the 2 5/8" barrel size and this bat is simply amazing! Big improvement from the Senior Prototype

Pros: Just got this for my son who plays 11u travelball and he loves it. It's 21oz but he said it doesn't feel that heavy when he swings it. Comfortable grip, good ping, and lots of pop. Kids on the team already asking to use it.

Pros: Good grip, feel, balance, and LOTS OF POP!

Cons: On my initial review I had no cons but after only 8 games it had 2 cracks in it. The warranty process was quick and easy though and I had the replacement in less than a week. Hope this one holds up better.

Incredibly Balanced; Great Pop; Seems Durable DC Baseball Dad parent

Pros: My son is a 13U travel ball player/contact hitter who previously used Eastons and Louisville Sluggers. He loves his 31"/21 oz. RIP-IT. It feels lighter and more balanced to him than any other 21 oz. bat. He is hitting strong line drives with it. He even loves the grip, which is a bit thicker than most youth big barrel grips. I was worried about dents given the last model's problems, but my son has been hitting the ball hard with no dents for two weeks now. The new R2 alloy seems to have solved that problem.

Cons: I don't see it as a negative, but this bat is not at all end-loaded, which makes it perfect for a contact hitter. The only real negative is the color of the grip -- white gets dirty easily. That strikes me as a minor issue given how good this bat is.

pop ashley gunter coach

Pros: Feels great.

Cons: Not much ping or pop that I like to hear when making a good hit. First time using didn't sound really great, will try again to get others opinions. Could have a defective bat, just not the loud ping sound. I'm getting more closer to that of a composite bat.

Nice bat but.... Mark coach

Pros: Bat looks and feels nice. It does have some good pop. I'd probably go with the 2 5/8. I made the mistake buying 2 3/4.

Cons: Bat cracked. Cracked bad 2 inches or more in two spots. No dents just cracked. just bats did give me a new one. They do stand by their products.

Great follow up to 2013 model MJ parent

Pros: My son is 10 and swings the 30/20. He loved the white, 2013 Rip-It. He started hitting with this 2014 model and it truly seemed to have even more pop. Seems better balanced than previous year as well. Great bat!

VERY Satisfied Kole's Dad parent

Pros: Tremendous pop. Very balanced. Could not be happier (so far) with this purchase. Brag alert: Kole has gone yard twice in his first two practices. 180ft fence. 7yr old. 4'9. 86 pounds. I say that to say this, he never went yard with his Easton S1 or XL3, DeMarini Voodoo, or Worth Prodigy. We honestly bought it because of the 30 Day Program expecting to return it. If it dents, cracks, or pops its end cap I will add another review. So far so good.

Cons: Not a con - just different. The taper is very narrow until reaching the "barrel". A bat like the Worth Prodigy is far more forgiving if you don't connect with the sweet spot. If you catch it on the fairly long handle it (a) is going to sting and (b) fly off the bat as a short field flare.

9u Dad 9u Dad parent

Pros: I bought this bat in a 29/19 for my 9 year old and early reviews from him are great. He says that it feels lighter than the 28/18 he usually swings and he feels like he can get it around faster. He is more of a power hitter and usually swings an end loaded bat. It feels really well balanced and he is hitting everything on a line and not getting under pitches as he would tend to do with an end loaded bat when he tired. Ball sounds great coming off the bat and would def recommend it for all types of hitters .

The 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR Big Barrel (B1410B) is a one-piece alloy bat. It is stiffer and designed for a power hitter. The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) is a two-piece composite bat and designed for a contact hitter. Both bats are balanced and are very similar in performance. The MAKO will have a slightly longer barrel.

I am looking at ordering a 29 inch 19 ounce bat for a 10U player. I am unsure of whether to order the 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter or the 2 3/4 inch. The player is a smaller kid. He is more of a line drive contact hitter. MC
The choice of whether to purchase the 2 5/8 inch barrel or the 2 3/4 inch would be based on what is allowed in the league the player is in. The 2 5/8 inch barrel is more accepted in more leagues while the 2 3/4 inch is more used in travel ball type play or certain leagues that allow for it. Moving forward to higher age levels, the 2 5/8 inch barrel will be more commonly used. The 2 3/4 inch barrel simply offers a larger surface area for the player to be able to square up a pitch.
Patrick
My son is in his last year of coach pitch and play travel ball, he has fast bat speed, would this be a good bat for him? He has cracked all junior big barrel bats we have bought. john
The 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR Big Barrel: B1410B Senior League would be great bat. It is for kid pitch but if he has been cracking Coach Pitch bats its probably not a bad idea. Plus he could use it in coach pitch next year.
Damon
What bat would you recommend for a 10 yr old that is 4' 10" and weighs 128 lbs? What size barrel? Is there an age limit when they can not use this bat? Monica
Based on the height and weight, I would recommend a 30" model in the 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR Big Barrel (B1410B). The barrel size is dependent on the league you are playing in. Some leagues require only a 2 1/4" barrel, but others allow up to a 2 3/4". In high school, players are required to use a 2 5/8" barrel.
Justin R.
