Pros: Lightweight and great looking. 30" bat weighed in at 19.75 oz. Bat was used in a U12 wood bat tournament. Bat worked great for the contact hitters until a player broke it by hitting a fastball right on the Viper logo.

Cons: Viper lightweight ash model had more pop and was only slightly heavier.

Best Wood Bat For my 10U player Scott parent

Pros: Purchaed this bat, and hit against a new Cat 7 and this wood bat actually had a bit more distance, and appeared to make better contact with the ball. Hit over 200 balls since getting it yesterday and it is awesome. Visual on the bat is great, two tone with a cool viper logo. Must have for young players to give them the sense of hitting with wood. Put durability as a 4 as it is new. But so far, no white marks, from hard hits, like I see when using Alum/Comp bats. Will follow-up with a durability after fall ball is over.

Cons: No cons.

No warranty Steve Parent

Pros: None. They break too easily to have any good rating. I have owned three viper birch bats and all three broke at the handle

Cons: There is no warranty. You won't get your money back and will have to pay a claim fee $25.

My son will be 10 years old in February. He weighs 100 lbs. How do I measure for bat length and weight so I know what to get him. He wants a wood bat and plays Little League (AAA division) so I assume a "big" barrel is not appropriate? This is more or less a bat to practice and not play with. Brady
Try using our bat coach. It is an excellent tool to find out what size bat he should use. Here is the link http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/

No. Most wood bats like the Viper Ultralight Birch Wood Senior League Baseball Bat (VYUL) do not have the 1.15 BPF stamp. The number associated with the BPF is an indication of how much higher the batted ball speeds off a bat exceed what they would on a wood bat. Since this is a wood bat it would not exceed its own performance.
