Description
The Easton MAKO BEAST is the newest version of one of the most popular baseball bats in the industry and it now has the biggest and most powerful composite barrel that Easton has ever made. By extending and combining the game's longest composite barrel with the game's fastest swing speed, this bat is an absolute BEAST that offers the lowest swing weight index out of the entire Easton lineup. A low swing weight index results in an evenly balanced model that delivers power through fast swing speeds. Easton's redesigned TCT Thermo Composite technology now provides an extended speed barrel design. So, the BEAST's barrel is longer than ever for more plate coverage and a huge sweet spot. Adding to the excellence is the fact that each MAKO BEAST comes wrapped with the formidable HYPERSKIN grip and it is backed by a full twelve (12) month manufacturer's warranty. Easton: Unleash The Beast!
This Easton MAKO BEAST HYPERLITE Senior League Baseball Bat: SL17MK12B features a -12 length to weight ratio, a 2 3/4 inch barrel diameter, and the USSSA 1.15 BPF Certification. Furthermore, it offers a sleek all-white finish. Buy your MAKO BEAST baseball bat with the bigger, badder barrel today with free shipping!

All White MAKO Micky parent
Pros: The paint job is sick and the barrel is HUGE! My son won't put this bat down. He loves how balanced it is and his hitting has drastically improved.
Cons: All white = dirt shows easily. And I have heard him complain about vibration in his hands but it's not significant. I would recommend this bat to anyone.
ouch cg parent
Pros: nice look and nit as heavy as some others.
Cons: my son has had this bat for one month now. He has used it in only one tournament and durring B.P. last week he told me he had enough with this bat and put it away in thr middle of practice and git out a 2 year old bat instead. He told me the vibration was just to great and he did not want to use it any longer.... thus was our 4th easton bat, one Mako and 2 Torq. little league and big barrel and this one by far was the most dissapointing.
Very nice Don parent
Pros: Massive barrel and bat seems to be balanced well. My son loves the feel of it. Only vibration is if he gets jammed or hits it off the very end of the bat.
Cons: Not sure if white is the best choice of colors.
Nice Bat Matt parent
Pros: Seems to have good pop.
Cons: None thus far.
GREAT BAT CARDS 2017 parent
Pros: HAS POP. I HAVE SEEN REVIEWS ABOUT THE STINGING OF HANDS. IF THE VIBRATION IS BAD ITS THE PLAYER NOT THE BAT. THIS BAT WILL TELL ON A BAD SWINGER. MY KID HAS TOLD ME THAT. IT HAS MADE HIM ADJUST HIS SWING FOR THE BETTER. LIKES THIS BAT OVER -10 COMBAT.
Cons: MOM HATES THE WHITE. LOL
Almost a Great Bat Jason Horne parent
Pros: My son has been swinging this bat for a little over 2 months now and he seems to be happy with it. Most of the kids on his travel ball team swings the DeMarini CF Zen balanced bat so I figured it was worth a shot ordering this bat in so my son could compare the two bats and decide which one he like best. After swinging the Easton bat and the DeMarini he choose this Easton bat. When weighing the Easton and DeMarini bats the Easton stayed more close to its weight at only a half an ounce heavier where as the DeMarini weighted in about an ounce and half more. So the Easton is very true to its weight and being a -12 bat if the kids is struggling with bat speed which my son has suffered from helps out tremendously. UPDATE: My son was struggling with this bat at a recent tournament. So he picked up the DeMarini CF Zen that most kids on the team use and he went up to bat in smashed the ball. I fear he might not use his Easton bat again. The Zen is HOT but durability issues which to choose??
Cons: Only thing my son has complained about is the vibration and sting on his hands with this bat. Like the other reviews have stated the vibration and sting of missed hits on the bat is evident and can be felt it when the ball is hit more towards the hands or end of the barrel. This still holds true to the characteristic of a one piece bat though. It will help a hitter develop more accuracy of hitting the baseball on the sweet spot of the barrel of the bat over time. So to help with this I just purchased the 1.8mm Lizard Skin grip and that seems to have help take the vibration and sting out of the miss hits for him. Besides the bat comes with a white grip, it was turning black from play already. So changing the grip needed to be done. The only other con I would say is I see other reviews posted about massive barrel but honestly this is a small barrel compared to the DeMarini CF Zen bat when compared side by side. Hope this helps!!
want to buy it... Ernie Sanchez parent
Pros: looks good like that it really light but is it a BB CORE bat..
Cons: new colors
garbage jeremy curtis parent
Pros: very good looking bat.
Cons: i bought the first bat and it broke on the inside ten days after purchase. I thought it must be a fluke i will send it back no problem. I did not want my son to be without a bat for half the season so I went ahead and bought another. The second time it connected with a baseball the cap shattered and came off. I haven't even got the first bat in the mail yet. I purchased $400 worth of garbage!! Just bats...reconsider selling this product.
best bat Chance Stephen Curell player
Pros: I hit 5 home runs with the nice pop
Cons: There are no cons
31-19 Mako Beast Hyperlite CDHof parent
Pros: My 83 pound 13 year old loves this bat and he has been hitting well. Ball seems to jump off the barrel. His other bat is the 2016 S1 but keeps going back to the Hyperlite
Cons: The white shows alot of scuff marks and he says it does sting his hand if he don't hit it on the sweetspot. Other than that he loves it.
WHITE LIGHTNING!! coach steve coach
Pros: light and powerful. all the kids on my 11U travel team want to use it!
Cons: none yet. only had it a week
beast review jacob other
Pros: good pop good feel
Cons: paint weres out vibration herts
Not Impressed thus far, only time will tell Mark Combs parent
Pros: Design Color Weight Barrel DIA Seems balanced
Cons: I submitted a question to justbats. I ordered this bat due to the 2 3/4 barrel size of the bat. The bat to me sound a little dead when my son hits off of it. It has a low thud or dull sound. Maybe I'm not use to it and not sure if there is a break in period. I thought break in periods was only for composite bats. My son and I hit a couple of hundred balls off a tee and another hundred or so of live pitching. I immediately noticed that the sound the bat makes still seems to have this dull thud sound. Almost like a wooden bat so not sure if the bat is defective or just not use to this bat. So different than the Demarini and Easton he currently has. If it doesn't get better soon then I feel this might have been a mistake and will have to look at other options. Has anyone else had these issues? - fcmcommw
Not as good as expected Tarek Emara player
Pros: This bat definitely did not live to the expectacions, ive been swinging the -10 omaha 517 bat and have seen a dramatic difference in performance and only good thing really was the feel.
Cons: bat had narely any pop and i just hated it. i already know im selling this bat. just terrible. dont buy it in my opinion. best bat ive ever swung was the omaha 517 -10
Great Bat Coach Chad coach
Pros: This is my sons 3rd Mako bat and this is truley a beast!
Cons: Vibration is a issue so i had the bat regripped to 1.8m that seems to have helped.

Pros: great pop & excellent feel.
Cons: Gets dirty very easily & The vibration kills your hands.
Most Bang for Your Buck!!! Buy this Bat! A C coach
Pros: The Easton Mako Hyperlite is an awesome addition to our 10u travel baseball team. I picked up a bat pack with a 30" Easton Mako Beast Hyperlite and 29" Combat Maxum for only $239. There are better bats out there, but I think the Beast Hyperlite is the hottest bat in it's specific price point. You'll struggle to find a better bat for less than $200. The Beast has a ton of pop, and the 2 3/4 barrel is HUGE! My son hits both bats well, but prefers the Beast when hitting for distance. The bat has more of an end-loaded feel than the Maxum, which feels more balanced. My son's confidence is through the roof right now, and the 29" 17oz Beast is the reason. He's never hit a ball harder or farther...ever.
Cons: The one-piece design allows for vibration, but that's to be expected with a one-piece composite bat.
DISSAPPOINTED Cheryl parent
Pros: Sic looking bat, love the all white, balanced, great feel, super light!!
Cons: Purchased this for my 11 y/o son playing travel baseball. This was to replace his beloved Freak. Anyway, I purchased the bat towards the end of the season (July), and he has probably hit 600+ balls with it & the bat sounds dead. No pop, no distance...nothing, other than his hands stinging. My son is a long distance hitter & this just isn't doing it. He loves the feel of the bat & how light it is, but we are about to give up here. I know composite bats take a bit to break in, however, its just hasn't gotten any better, from day 1 to now. I have been looking at other bats to replace this one, but for now, I am going to have him hit a few hundred more balls, and hope something changes before spending $350 for a new Zen. If something should change after hitting more balls, I will update the review. By the way, the all white bat looks really awesome when its new, however, the grip is so filthy, its gross. I so wanted to love this bat..,
horrrible jon newburn parent
Pros: batt looks good thats it.
Cons: we bought this bat last year when it came out after a month of use the knob spider cracked and all pop was gone. sent it back and 3 weeks later finally got another bat back. easton replaced it but would not switch models. i wanted to upgrade and pay the differance but they wouldnt do it. we have haf many makos in the past and never had this problem. a 10yr old was swinging this bat and he will not even pick it up now that he has a alloy marruci. probably the best bat any of my kids have ever owned tremedous pop. older son had a 916 lls great bat also. many kids also had the mako beast on both travel teams and never left the bat bag. just not the same as the old orange makos

Pros: our grandson has been hitting great with his new bat, very happy with our purchase for him.
Cons: No bad things to report
awesome bat proud dad parent
Pros: my son lovs this bat. He has been crushing the balll further now. Hehad not complained about any vibration.
Cons:
Decent Bat Rhys Martin Player
Pros: This bat has great pop. The paint job is pretty cool. I’ve had this bat for a couple of months now and it hasn’t cracked or anything so the durability overall is good.
Cons: Rattle is crazy and it’s pretty heavy for me. When ball marks get on it, it doesn’t look the best but otherwise it’s decent.

For my son I just bought the Combat Maxum -12 Senior League bat in 28/16 ounce & this 2017 Easton MAKO BEAST HYPERLITE -12 Senior League bat 28/16. My son is 51-½" tall & 55 pounds. He just tried out and made an 8u travel baseball team. This is his first time playing travel ball. He's a very good contact hitter, but lacks power. I would like to get my son a bat that will help improve his power as as is possible to get from bat selection. What are the pros & cons when comparing 2-5/8" vs. a 2-¾" barrel, assuming all else is equal? Is it accurate to say that the 2017 Combat Maxum with its 2-5/8" barrel has a longer barrel which in turn means that it has a longer sweet spot and the 2017 Mako Beast Hyperlite with its 2-3/4" barrel has a wider sweet spot due to the wider barrel? Are there any other differences between these two bats that will effect how they hit? Do you think that a 28 inch 16 ounce -12 bat is the best length and weight for him or should we go down one size to a 27" 15 ounce bat? His new travel coach seems to think that my son should use a smaller 27/15. Based on what I have shared, do you think my son would be better off with the Mako Beast Hyperlite Senior League or Combat Maxum Senior League bat? Eric
What's the difference between this 2017 EASTON MAKO BEAST HYPERLITE -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL17MK12B and the 2017 Easton MAKO BEAST -12 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: JBB17MK12B? They are both -12, both have 2-¾" barrels, both have the same grip diameter, both MAKO BEAST, although obviously one has Hyperlite added to the name, one is black and one is white, and one is a senior league bat and the other a junior bat. I also see that the max size of the JBB17MK12B is 27/15 and the smallest size of the Hyperlite is 28/16. Are there any other tangible differences or pros, and cons of each bat? EricOTown
Looking for a bat for my 8 year old who is 48" and 50 lbs. I've narrowed it down to the 28"/16 oz size of either the Hyperlite -or- the MAXSL112. I've heard about bad vibration on the Hyperlite. Does the Combat produce the same amount of sting from miss-hits? Which of these bats do you think would work best for him? kevcambron

My son is 5'6" tall, 115 lbs. What size bat should he be using? Sara Brown
Just received this bat from JustBats last week. Is there a break in period for the bat like a composite? Unfortunately, the bat sounds dead or a low thud when hitting the ball both off a tee and live hitting. We hit a couple hundred balls off of a tee and some live pitching and something still doesn't sound right compared to his other Easton and DeMarini bats. The bat is lightly used now so now what? Hope it improves soon or I feel like this was a bad purchase. MARK COMBS
Is it a big barrel? Cmar
When you say "senior league" what exactly does that mean? This is a youth bat correct? Keith
My grandson's team plays in a league that is changing bat rules next year to only BBCOR bats. If so, what kind of trade in would I get on a BBCOR? Gab
My son is 12 years old, 82 pounds, and 4ft 7in tall. Is this a good bat for him, and if so, what size would you recommend. I have seen in a previous question answered that it might not be good for a hard swinging 12 yr old, it could have durability issues. I have also looked into the Easton S3 big barrel, and it also said that it is for kids up to 11 yrs old, why is that? Between the two, which would be the better choice? gadam
Does this bat require a break-in period, or is this good to go straight out of the wrapper? I know with composite softball bats take a while to break in. Frank Rizzo
