Worth every penny Steven parent

Pros: I was skeptical about this new USA bat standard. I thought they were charging us parents the same amount of money for a bat that didn't perform as well. My son wanted this Ghost X because it's most similar to his mako beast but I think it's better. The pop is great off this thing. He never complains about sting in his hands anymore either. 11/10.

Cons: None yet.

Good as the person swinging it Cliff Silva coach

Pros: We all know that the bat will not be as hot as the USSSA ones...but this model is not that bad. If you hit it square...it will fly. Can't compare to the other models but I am happy with this bat... Will only get hotter as we use it more. Smooth and clean design as is the norm with Easton bats...

Cons: Loud ping when the ball is hit 29 inch comes in at about 19.5 ounces the price

Pros: havent fully broken the bat in yet but its feeling better. good pop, good fly. all the kids on my sons team want to use it.

Cons: few bad stingers with the start of break in. bat seems "softer" with more pop on every batting session

Highly Disappointed BaseballCoach69 coach

Pros: Nice looking color

Cons: Everything else. Our whole team tried it out. Hands were stung and balls went nowhere. We average 3 homers a game and the team managed to hit 1 out during the entire 3 hour practice. Not worth the money

GHOST X BREAK IN? Kevin parent

Pros: Really solid feeling. Little to no sting. Ball seems to fly off bat ......but

Cons: A good 30-40 feet shorter than last years Beast. So 240 is now 200. MAKO Youth Ash Wood 2 1/4" bat goes further consistently. OK if I can expect break in, but Easton says no break in is necessary.

Make a ball disappear with the Ghost X Mr Coach coach

Pros: Obviously this is a new bat on the market and there are a lot of questions about the new USA bat standard. I broke down and bought a 30" drop 10 Ghost X and my son absoltelty loves it. He loves the feel of the composite bat and continues to say how he does not even feel the ball coming off the bat. The biggest diffence I see is not with the pop of the bat, but how many more balls he is hitting hard that he was just missing with the 2 1/4 barrell. With a composite 2 5/8" barrell, he is now putting balls in play that would have been fouled off with the smaller diameter bat. He feels like he is going to the plate with tennis raquet in his hands which has given him a ton of confidence. He picked an inside the park HR on his first hit by sending a ball to the gap that rolled to the fence. Balls that were singles are now extra base hits and he has tremendous confidence at the plate. Other kids on our team that also have Makos notice a different feel with the Ghost X.

Cons: The Ghost X will make a lot of money disappear, but it's worth it for our family and is a bat he can use for the next 2-3 years.

Not so Great Brad R parent

Pros: Bat is well constructed with a good balance.

Cons: I usually don't write reviews but feel compelled to with this product. I think the velocity restriction has gone too far. The average exit velocity is 5% to 7% slower after 500 swings than my son's previous 1.15 bat. In fact, we purchased a maple Louisville slugger wooden bat on sale for $19.99 at the time as this purchase. My son gets slightly more distance and better exit velocity off of the LS, which is a couple ounces heavier. I would not buy this bat again. I strongly believe my son gets an equal performance from a much cheaper wood bat. I am concerned that this restriction is going to drive players from youth organizations using the USA requirement. Finally, the bat does still vibrate quite a bit when the ball misses the sweet spot toward the end of the bat or below the barrell.

Not that much different Sean coach

Pros: Feels light for -10. Bigger barrel. There is enough pop in this bat. I would not classify our game testing results as similar to wood. Some well struck balls from a couple players that used in a game. Probably a bit less than a broken in mako, but as a coach, hitting fungos I didn't notice a drastic difference from the 1.15. Which begs the question, WHY CHANGE TO A NEW STANDARD?!

Cons: Cost. Plenty of good bats still in circulation and these new ones don't seem all that different to us so far. Our organization is allowing both the old bats and the new bats, at least for 1 year until we see how this pans out. Let kids hit homeruns and if you are worried about safety, play 50/70 and move them back.

This bat is Low key Hunter player

Pros: This guy at practice brought a bunch of these bats to "demo" them and I like the "32 inch, 25 ounce". This bat had so much pop and right when I picked it up to try it out I knew this is going to be a great bat for. Thanks so much Easton for this new bat, great job on the bat.

Cons: nothing wrong

I guess its good for a USA bat. Hollowbox parent

Pros: This bat is basically like hitting a slightly less stinging, light swing weight wood bat with a full size barrel.

Cons: $350 for a bat that doesn't hold a candle to the one your kid used last year. A good 30-50 feet shorter, and on par or less performance than my sons Marruci Cutch youth wood bat. The bat also is not as sting dampening as the old bats.

Not Thrilled DTG coach

Pros: It is drop 10

Cons: Mot much else. No pop, a "tinny" terrible sound, and almost no feedback other than vibration, and fairly expensive for such sub par performance. My son got it early to see how the new little league bats would perform. After 3 months of use he has decided to either find a different bat, perhaps just go with aluminum alloy, or go to wood for little league.

Not what I expected Nolans Dad parent

Pros: Good swinging light bat. Well balanced.

Cons: My son is the 3 hitter in the lineup because he has power and excellent contact. Since buying this bat his production is lousy. We have actually in most cases had him go back and use his previous Demarini and he performs great. I understand pop will decrease but this is terrible. I am very surprised as we paid a lot of money for what we thought would be the best bat. I also feel this is kind of silly and will just detour more kids from playing regular little league type divisions as apposed to some type of travel or other division where these bats are not required.

My 8 Year Old Loved It After The First Swing!!! Coach Dad parent

Pros: We purchased this bat (32" -10) on Saturday (11/18) and I was terrified that it might be too big for my 8 yr old son... but I want him to grow into it so thats why we bought it bigger. Well we came home, set up his hitting net and tee... After his very first swing with it, I knew we had made a good call on the length and weight. He swung it like he had been swinging it forever already. He loved the feel of it... he loved the colors of it... he was so excited... so all I can say is that my son loves it so far.

Cons: None so far... might find some later but for now, very happy with it.

Next Level Doc Holiday parent

Pros: Good pop, well balanced, and nice sound. Put this bat in a good hitter's hands with sound mechanics and the ball jumps off the barrel. My son is a contact hitter with gap power (10 year old) and he is driving balls just as hard as his old Combat Maxum. The larger barrel makes up for any sweet spot issues. This is a really nice and well made bat! As with all eastons, feels about an ounce, ounce and a half heavier. Lots of ooohs and awwws when my son is taking batting practice and he's on the smaller side. This is a full 2 piece composite bat not an alloy hybrid and more balanced than end loaded like the makos.

Cons: Not a fan of Easton's grip but even so there is little to no sting. Parents/coaches complaining about this bat will find ALL NEW USA BATS have the same or similar issues on "homeruns." Unless your kid is used to hitting multiple homeruns every game, I wouldnt put 2 cents into the "no pop" argument people have complained about. The cost is high but is the bat evey hitter gravitates to wittiut a doubt.

Pros: Bat looks good, swings balanced, not much else

Cons: The cost of course is a major con. Not sure why LL went to the USA bat standard because these bats are dead. At least 30 feet less per hit with this bat. Broken in, its not much better. I really didn't see many hits before the USA bat standard came out that worried me about players health, so this just seems like another moneymaker and power grab to me

USA Bat Technology is Terrible KDJ parent

Pros: They look and feel good in the hands

Cons: Bought two of these bats for my 10 and 11 year old sons. Both play select ball and Little League so we have experience with multiple bats for both organizations (USSSA and LL)...both are excellent hitters for contact and power but these USA bats are not only bad for pop but the consistent sting is so bad they prefer to use a wood bat. My sons and every kid we have spoke with absolutely dislikes everything about these bats. This review is for the USA Bat technology itself, not so much for Easton. We've had great experience with the Makos so with all things considered we hope these Eastons hold up for the 2018 Little League season but we are not happy about the performance of them. This specific bat could use a better grip, we replaced both grips before initisl use. If you play Little League, "it is what it is"!

Review of Easton Ghost X (Drop -10) After a Month Coach V coach

Pros: Okay guys, I hesitated to put a review in after getting the bat. I didn't want to be critical with reviewing the 2018 Easton Ghost X bat because I know there is some breaking in time with composite bats. I don't think it would be fair to judge any composite bat the first few weeks of purchase and use. The 2018 Easton Ghost X (drop -10) is no different. Honestly, right out of the wrapper, my 8-year old son used it and immediately we both noticed the bat did not have any pop. After the first 400-500 hits, I noticed a little more pop and a little more distance. Now we've had it for over a month now and over 1,000 hits, I'm seeing more and more pop. The ball is finally popping off this bat! The rating IMO is not fair of this bat. Let me also be clear that my son hasn't used other USABats yet, but we are really noticing an improvement in the performance of this bat the more my son uses it. The barrel size is awesome! BTW, my son was using the 2015 Easton Orange Mako.

Cons: 1.20 bpf is the new standard.

NOT Worth the Coin Jeff parent

Pros: Looks cool. Good Balance

Cons: It's not Easton's fault. They're required to make a bat to fit within the new USA Bat standard. DO NOT waste your money on this bat. My son could hit a ball further with a broom stick. If you used garbage bats before, then this will seem like a decent improvement; but still not worth the money. I agree with several of the other posts, it delivers about 50 ft less distance than the Easton Mako. I'll be shocked if my son matches last years offensive power production.

Broken Bat MRB coach

Pros: My 11U boy really loved this bat at the start of training this season. It has a good sound when the ball is well hit and no vibration in the handle.

Cons: As a baseball club we have broke 3 of these bats with less than 500 cuts. All of our training has been done indoors with real baseballs. They have not been used in cold weather or with dimpled balls and still breaking. Easton will only provide 1 replacement bat. We decided to go with the Demarini Zen USA -10. My son loves it. It has just as much pop and no vibration. We have not had one break yet.

Pros: Balanced feel.

Cons: It's a dead bat with a small sweet spot. Not sure what is going on with the bat but it only hits fine with pop if you hit the dead center of a sweet spot. Maybe it needs more breaking in but hugely disappointed with it. Definitely not worth the price. Looking to get another bat then try to test the bat again over the summer when temperatures are warmer.

Cons: I coach 10 year old super league. Thought I was buying the top-of-the-line youth bat. After 3 batting practices with all 11 players. base hits real coach coach

Pros: this bat will produce base hits, thats all that matters in baseball. homeruns are nice, but contact and putting the ball in play is what counts. the DADS writing reviews about their son having power and getting less distance and so on, have no clue about true baseball, its not the bat, its your player, those dads play through their kids. its not the bat, its the batter. put the ball in play and make the defense work, name of the game. thats what makes a ball player. A bats a bat, a kid that makes contact and puts ball in play is a true ball player. distance means nothing, especially at this age.

A piece of cement cloaked in composite. Jimmy parent

Pros: Looks good in your hands, that's about it.

Cons: This bat is like a piece of cement cloaked in composite. I understand that the pop on the new USA bats were going to be substantially less but this is ridiculous. My son is not a slouch by any means, I mean he was hitting balls off the fence last year in coach pitch with an $80 Easton of which I don't even know the model. This year the same contact has yielded balls that barely leave the infield using a bat 4 1/2 times the price. Rip Off

Pros: that bat is durable. i used it all winter for fielding practice for break in. Easily hit 1000 balls. The balls can fly if you hit the ball correctly. But thats where it ends. The bigger bats are better we have a 31 -5 and its a completely different bat over the fence everytime with good contact and no sting.

Cons: The kids started using the bat in the spring and i think every kid has stood on second still shaking their hands. With the -10 they are all base hits. The bat is really end loaded so the balance is awful if you have trouble driving hands at the ball.

Easton Ghost no pop ER Parent/Coach coach

Pros: The bat does dampen any vibration but thats really the only pro.

Cons: Without any reliable reviews on the new USA bats we bought the bat because of our postive experience with Easton in the past. Realizing the USA bats won't be like the old USAAA bats early on I accepted the poor sound, feel, and pop was just part of the new standard. Then we finally were able to get out of the cages and hit outside. Solid hits that normally should be well into the outfield barley made it to second base. We then used some of the other kids less expensive alloy bats and had much better success. I couldn't be more disappointed that I spent over $600 for my two sons and had to go back and spend another few hundred dollars on "lessor" bats because of the Ghost poor performance. If you are looking at bats do not spend the extra money for this bat.

Cons: Sting on almost every at bat. The sweet spot is extremely small. I ended up buying the Louisville slugger select 718 and was amazed by the difference in bats. Since he switched from the ghost to the LS he has been killing the ball and has yet to have his hands sting.

Use Wood Instead - No Pop - Now DeCertified Garbage and now De-Certified parent

Pros: Cage hitting looked great wit this bat over the winter. Once we got out on a field, I'd watch my 11 year old make great contact with ball hitting it square. Instead of a line drive in the gap, it would come off the bat like a looping liner to shallow outfield. The USA bat standard is a ridiculous ploy to extract more $$$ out of parents and this bat is the poster child for this scam. My son plays AAU and thankfully they have not adopted USA bat standards. We quickly picked up an old 2014 30 inch -9 Easton Mako and now the ball is being driven to the fence over and over. Just found out this bat was de-certified and I can't wait to ship it back to Easton.

Cons: - zero pop at all

Flawed bat flawed game. Bought 32 22 ghost x. Junk Ripped off and dumbed down coach

Pros: Stoked if other team using it! Serves everyone right for playing little league aka whiffle ball. You gotta be kidding me. How about moving to 50 70 with longer fences?

Cons: Zero pop. Terrible sound. Worst bat I have ever owned or bought. Beyond disappointed don't waste your time or money with this piece of garbage!

Pros: looks cool

Cons: (from kid) this bat has zero pop, stungs terribly. it really dose decrease your confidence when the bat feels terrible evrey time you make contact. it almost feels like all the weight is in the handle. i was a king at the plate last year and this year it is a miracle if i hit it deep into the outfeild. i would recomend the luisville select 718

Best Bat Allowed D Ray other

Pros: The design mitigates vibration. The sweet spot is legit. The weight distribution creates momentum during the swing.

Disappointing 12u baseball dude player

Pros: It seems to hold up ok. Very balanced. Made it thru 40 games with a few teammates using out randomly.

Cons: Didn't realize how dead this bat really was until we purchased a new different brand bat. This thing has been very dead from the start and recently has gotten worse. It was broken in properly, and maintained as recommended (with the exception of a couple teammates wanting to try it). It just has no pop, and for a multi piece composite bat it has plenty of sting. There are better options for less money. However I'm sure easton will fix the problems with this bat, and have better usa bats the second year.

Pros: No sting, outstanding balance and feel.

Cons: Our team has gone through 3 bats in 3 months. One in a game, one during live BP, and another one in BP with a pitching machine with real baseballs at 43mph. I have witnessed just as good pop come off of a wood and aluminum 750c Easton as this one.

Pros: Bat looks great. Weight distribution is good. The bat feels good in your hand.

Cons: The bat simply has no pop. The sweet spot is extremely small and it is very unforgiving with regards to hand sting. We just finished our state all-star tournament and it cracked in two places and the barrel began to separate from the Connexion joint. Overall I was very unhappy with the bat especially for the price. My son quit swinging it due to its lack of performance.

Cons: When the ball hits the bat it sounds dead and the ball goes no where. When my 10 year old son uses this bat he can’t get the ball passed the pitcher but with his old bat he can hit the ball to the fence. Not at all worth the money!!!!

Pros: The bat has good pop and feels well balanced.

Cons: The vibration has been absolutely merciless with the bat. We’ve tried vibration dampeners, gloves and new grip. Nothing works. It feels as if you are hitting a telephone pole with rebar. Second Ghost X Tamra Simulick Parent

Pros: None

Cons: We bought an Easton bat and it broke within the first 2 months. Used the warranty to get the bat replaced and they sent us this bat. Wow! A $300 bat replacement, we were excited. After a few month of use, we noticed the barrel was cracked on 2 sides. Who would have thought a bat that cost so much money would do that. That was the end of last season. Fast forward to the last warranty claim we were able to make on this bat and they send us the exact same Ghost. Ok, maybe it was defective the first time around. Nope! After 2 months of use, the barrel is cracked again. This is also after he was not able to use it in a tournament because it was on the illegal list! We bought him a second Easton bat, which he used when this one cracked and that dented on the first hit! Would NOT recommend!!

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Being that the barrel will not be as long as the Mako or Beast (USSSA) do you think these USA bats will swing a little easier? Cliff
Overall, the barrel lengths featured on this 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GX10), the 2016 MAKO (SL16MK10B) and the 2017 MAKO BEAST (SL17MK10B) should be similar (the USA models of bats might have slightly smaller lengths). As well, the weighting on the bats should be pretty similar. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to say that this 2018 Easton Ghost X USA Baseball Bat is easier to swing than the other bats.
Ben
What is the warranty on this bat? What is the approximate break in period? Number of swings? Jeff
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 features a one year manufacturer's warranty and to properly break it in, we recommend taking 150-200 swings playing soft toss or off a tee using real baseballs. Begin swinging at 40% power and work our way up to full strength as you get closer to 200.
Carter
Will this bat be offered in a 28/18? Modock32
Yes, the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 is supposed to be available in a 28" 18 oz size. They will be posted on our website as soon as we have them.
Jason
What is the difference between this bat and the Ghost Hyperlight bat besides the approximately $70 difference? Dan
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 is a two-piece fully composite bat while the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL is a one-piece fully composite bat. The Ghost X will be an ounce heavier and also better equipped to reduce vibration from off-centered hits thanks to the two-piece design.
Cameron
What is the difference in the barrel length between The Ghost X bat and the Ghost X Hyperlite bat? They appear to be the same. GreenvilleNS
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 will have a slightly longer barrel just due to it being a heavier bat, but the difference is very small.
Logan
I need a bat for Little League Juniors Fall/Intermediate 2017 and Spring 2018. Does this bat have a BBCOR stamp? Lisa Calderon
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 does not feature the BBCOR stamp, but it does feature the USA stamp which is what is required for Little League play.
Logan
Will the Ghost X be available in an end loaded version similar to the MAKO? worthx4
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 is a balanced bat, but the 2018 Easton Ghost X -8 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX8 and the 2018 Easton Ghost X -5 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX5 feature slightly end loaded swing weights.
Logan
What is the actual weight of the 28"/18 oz bat? domingo
From our experience, most Easton bats tend to weight about 1-1.5oz heavier than the listed weight. Meaning an 18 oz model would roughly be closer to 19 oz.
Kyle J.
My son is looking to purchase the Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat (2 5/8 barrel). He is 59 inches tall (so 4 foot 11) and weighs 100 pounds. He has been comfortably swinging an Easton Mako 30/19 (-11) for about half a year and hit well with it. For the GHOST, what size bat would you recommend purchasing? Stefan
It is suggested that your player swings a 30" bat. If your player is comfortable going to a 31" bat, that would alright as well. The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GX10) would be a good fit for your player due to its balanced feature.
Mick
What type of hitter is the Ghost X -10 for and the Hyperlite made for? Ben
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GX10) is made for contact and power hitters whereas the Hyperlite is more geared toward the contact hitters.
Mick
Knowing that bat has a break in period, is there a point that it will go "dead" after so many hits? TRG
The lifespan of bats is difficult to pin point. there are a lot of factors that can limit or prolong the lifespan of a bat. A bat will have a longer lifespan if it is stored inside for the winters, and does not hit dimple balls. There is no hit limit with bats.
Mick
Is a bat with the USA stamp also allowed in USSSA play? Bryan
Yes, you can use the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 or any other USA bat in USSSA play.
Carter
My son plays in the upper Midwest in the spring. Is it recommended to use these bats when the temperature is in the 50's? JR
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 is not a great option to use in temperatures below 55 degrees. Unfortunately, there really are not any bats on the market that are suggested for use in temperatures below 55 degrees.
Jason
Looking to get this bat for my son. He's 8 years old, 4'1" tall and weighs 55 lbs. What length is recommended? trg
We would recommend a 28" length of bat for someone of his height and weight.
Kyle J.
2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball meet the 1.10 BPF for Little League-Dixie play, January 1 rule change? Big Ben
Yes, the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 has the new USA baseball stamp and can be used in Dixie play. However, the USA bats do not have BPF ratings listed.
Dan
What size is recommended for an 11 yr old who is 5'2 and 85 lbs? #1 Mom
Based on your player's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 in a 30 inch model.
Cameron
My 9 year old son has the 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Youth Baseball Bat: MAXYB112 but feels it's getting a little light. With the changes in the new bat rules, would the Easton Ghost X -10 or the Hyperlite -11 be better? mom
Both are good options, however, if you are already concerned about your current bat being too light I would probably recommend the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 for your son.
Carter
What size do you recommend for a 9 year old that is 4'3" and 55 lbs? ssyy
Based on the height and weight, I would recommend getting the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 in a 28''.
Tori
Is it stamped BPF 1.15? Bball Dad
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 features the USA certification stamp, so unfortunately it does not feature the USSSA 1.15 BPF certification.
Jason
My son is 9 years old, 4'11" and right around 100 pounds. What size do you recommend? Joseph
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would recommend going with this 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GX10) in the 30" length as long as you feel he can handle the subsequent 20 oz weight.
Ben
What are the main differences between this and the Ghost X hyperlite? Tspark33
There will be one piece construction with the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL as well as a lighter feel with the -11 weight.
Dan
Due to the new USABat rules, I'm looking to replace my son's Easton MAKO XL bat: -10, 30in, 20oz, 2 1/4. Is the Ghost bat comparable, or do you suggest another? Mike
Yes, the Ghost is essentially replacing the Mako for Easton's line of bats this year as their top of the line model. It is a very good model.
Kyle J.
Son is 5"1' 98 lbs. 12 yrs old. Last year he used a MAKO BEAST 30/19. What size Ghost X is good for him? Tony Boombarts
Based on your sons height and weight we would recommend a 31"/21 ounce 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 for him.
Carter
My son is about 80lbs and 4'10. He swings for contact not power. Either bat would already be 1 or 2 oz heavier than his old bat before the change to the USA Bats. What would be the differences between the Ghost X vs. the Ghost X Hyperlite? Do you recommend one over the other? Dad
The two big differences between 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL and the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 will be the one-piece design in the hyperlite as well as it being 1 oz lighter.
Dan
Last year my son used a 31 inch 28oz BBcore. Now the new USA bats are out not sure if he should use a drop 10 or drop 5. He is now 13 yrs old 5'7 160 lbs. He will turn 14 before season in spring. He did very well with the 28oz bat last year. over .600 average with 5 hrs first year in junior league. joec25
If he's required to swing a USA bat, I would recommend the -5. The -10 will be too light for him.
Dan
My son plays in the Dixie youth baseball league and I was wondering if I should get him the Ghost X? damingo auyala
The Easton Ghost X would be an excellent choice for a Little League player who needs a USA baseball certified bat.
Kyle J.
Is this bat suitable for a 13 year old player in Pony League? Also what is the recommended weight -5 or -10 for a 5'5" 110 pound player? Brett
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 is best suited for a Pony league player that is 12 years or younger. Ideally, a player that is 13 years old and is 5'5" and 110 lbs in Pony would be best served with a 31 inch 23 ounce model, such as the 2018 Easton Ghost X -8 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX8.
Cameron
Is there break in period with this bat? Or is it hot out the box? Tom
The composite construction of the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 will require a break in period. This typically consists of a couple days of hitting off a tee or soft toss before using the bat against live pitching.
Logan
What size do you recommend for a 12 year old player who is 5 ft and 85 pounds? Frank
We suggest a 29" bat based on his height and weight.
Mick
My son is 5'4" and 148 lbs, is the Ghost X drop 10 32" 22 oz okay? Dominator
Based on your players height and weight, we would suggest a 32" model of the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10.
Jason
What size do you recommend for my son who is 4' 6" and weighs 70 lbs.? Glen
Based on your players height and weight, we suggest a 29" model of the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10.
Jason
Can you please recommend a size for my 13 yo son who is 5'6" and weighs about 115 lbs? He will play in Babe Ruth League. Or do you think he'd be better served with a -8? aly_d
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 is a bat better served for a younger player. For someone that is 13 years of age, and taking his height and weight into consideration, we would recommend getting the 2018 Easton Ghost X -8 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX8 in a 31 inch model.
Cameron
Is there a pop/performance difference between the Ghost X Hyperlite YBB18GXHL and the regular Ghost X YBB18GX10? Gopogotom
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 and the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL will share similar performance/pop capabilities. The Ghost X, with its two-piece design, is better equipped to reduce from vibration. Assuming bat speed is constant with both models, then the heavier bat will offer slightly better performance (Ghost X).
Cameron
My son will turn 10 this February. He is 4"5 and 67 pounds. Would the Hyperlite 29/18 or Ghost 28/18 be a better choice? Patty Boy
A typical 10 year old will swing a drop 10 to get prepared for the next years when he needs to use a drop 5 or drop 3. A 28/18 would be a great choice for your player. The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GX10) is a very well balanced bat and will be great for younger players.
Mick
My son is 5'8", 190 pounds and is 12 years old. What drop would he need and bat? Ian
Based on your son's height and weight we would recommend getting a -8 model in a 32 inch length. One bat to consider would be the 2018 Easton Ghost X -8 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX8.
Cameron
Just curious what the "Speed Balanced Swing Weight" specifically means with this bat? Is it more of a balanced bat or weighted? Dad
The speed balanced swing weight on the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 is in reference to the quicker bat speed you should be able to get from the balanced swing weight of the bat. The speed balance should make the bat feel lighter.
Jason
My son is 11 years old and he is 4'5" and he weighs 66 lbs. Which Easton bat would you recommend? How about length and weight? Dad in Westchester
Based on your player's height and weight, and accounting for his age, I would suggest a 29" 19 oz. 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10.

My son is 12 years old, 5'4" and 115 pounds. What length and weight do you recommend? baseball mom
Based on your son's height and weight, I would suggest a 31" bat. At 12 years old, players swing anywhere from a -10 to a -5 bat, and it is difficult to suggest a weight of bat for an individual player since we are unable to see the player's swing and how strong they are. I would say most players at that age would swing a -8, like the 2018 Easton Ghost X -8 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX8.
Logan
My son is 12 years old, and is 5-foot-5, 5-foot-6 and weighs around 125-130 pounds. Which size Easton Ghost X -10 would you suggest for the 2018 season? Daddyo
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 in a 32 inch model.
Cameron
My 10 yr old son is 4'8" and weighs 75 lbs. Should he go with a 29 or 30 inch Ghost X -10? Ed
I would recommend that he goes with the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GX10) 29 inch bat based on your son's height and weight.
Tyler
I am trying to decide on the Ghost X (-10) or Ghost X Hyperlite (-11) for my 8 year old son. He weighs 60 lbs and plays travel baseball. Any suggestions? TomG
For most 8 year old players, we usually suggest a 28" length bat. I would recommend either this 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GX10) or the -11 Ghost X USA bat based upon the weight your player can handle. If he can handle the 28"/18 oz size, get this -10 bat. If he needs a lighter 28"/17 oz bat, I would recommend the -11 bat.
Ben
My son is 5 ft tall and weighs about 115-120 lbs, what size would you recommend? Batdad
Based on your player's height and weight, I would suggest a 30" 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10.
Logan
My 10 year old is 4'11" and 108 lbs. He's a strong kid with a good fundamental swing. What do you suggest? JB
Based on your players height and weight, we would suggest a 30" model of the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10.
Jason
Is this bat not just LL but for travel ball also? Tommy
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GX10) is legal for travel as well.
Mick
My son is 10 yrs old, 4'6" about 75 - 80 lbs. Which bat would you recommend? He plays both travel and LL. tom
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 in a 29 inch model. If playing both travel ball and Little League then you would need to use a USA approved model
Cameron
What is the actual weight on this bat? I hear composites are truer to actual weight versus alloy. It's too bad that all the USA bats are heavier. Hurts the smaller players. MC2017
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 will feature a static weight of 1.2 ounces more than listed weight (this was measured using a 32 inch model).
Cameron
My kids have always used the Easton MAKO as that bat had noticeably more pop than any other bat on the market. With the new bat standards, what bat seems to have the most pop? eddie
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 is the new two-piece composite model that Easton is manufacturing, thus replacing the MAKO models of the past. As for performance within the USA standard, at this time we have not seen a difference in performance that would indicate there is one bat performing better than all the others.
Cameron
My son is 11 years old, 4'11"-5'0" and 115-120 lbs. He has used a 31/19 for the last two years. What size do you recommend now? BaseballFan71
Based on your sons height and weight we would recommend a 31"/21 ounce 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10.
Carter
My son is 5'2 and weighs about 130 lbs. What size bat? 32-10? amy
I would recommend the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 in a 31 inch bat length. This bat has a -10 drop weight so it will weigh 21 ounces.
Dan
My 12 year old son is 5'5" 190 lbs. Very strong for his age. He used the -10 Mako Beast last year and is primarily a power hitter. What is the difference between the Easton Bats (ghost, hyperlite, etc...) this year. Which would you recommend. I do not anticipate him getting much taller. josh
I would recommend the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 with a 33 inch bat length. However, all the new USA bats will perform fairly similar so I recommend going with a bat that feels similar to the Mako Beast.
Dan
My son is 4'2" and 75 lbs. He swings a 29/19 S3. What length Ghost -10 should he swing? bill
I would recommend the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 in a 28 inch bat length.
Dan
My son is 4'9" and 82 pounds. What size Ghost X drop 10 would you recommend? Billy
Based on your players height and weight, we suggest a 30" model of the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10.
Jason
My grandson is 10 yrs 4'7" and 83 lbs with a average swing. What bat do you recommend? Bob
I think the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 would be a good option for your player. The balanced swing weight on the Ghost X will allow the barrel to get through the zone a little bit easier. I would also recommend a 29 inch bat length.
Dan
My son is 12 yrs, 5'31/2, 94 lbs. What length and weight would I buy him? The last 2 yrs he swung a 31-21 MAKOTorque. Randy
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend using a 31" Easton Ghost X USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GX10).
JP
My son is 11 years old, 105 lbs, and 4'11". What size bat and drop size is best to purchase for him? Gabby
I would recommend the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 in a 30 inch length and a -10 drop weight. If you think that will be too heavy, I would suggest a -11 drop weight.
Dan
Looking for a new bat for my son, 5"3' and 135 lbs. Recommendations between this and the 11? tkistler96
Based on your player's height and weight, I would go with this heavier 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 in a 31" 21 ounce size.
Logan
My son is 10 years old, 5'1" and 130 lbs. What size bat should I get? Tim
Based on his height and weight, it is suggested that he uses a 31" 21oz bat.
Mick
Does this Ghost X bat come in a 2 1/4" barrel? chris
Unfortunately, this 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GX10) does come in a 2 1/4" barrel diameter.
Ben
My son is 10 years old, 54" and 67 lbs. What length and weight bat would you recommend? Is drop -10 or -11 too heavy to him? Hadouken
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would recommend getting this 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GX10) in the 29" length. In regard to weight, the 19 oz should work for him as long as it will not be a drastic change from what he used in the past. However, if he needs the lighter 29"/18 oz size, you could look to the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GXHL).
Ben
My son just turned 8 and he is 4"9' and weighs 68 lbs. He is a good contact hitter but can also drive the ball when he gets his pitch. What size bat would you recommend for him? DroppinBombz
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would recommend looking to this 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GX10) in the 29"/19 oz size or 30"/20 oz size.
Ben
How do you break-in this bat? Matty ice
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 fairly hot out of the wrapper. However, it is still best to take about 100-150 swings off a tee to help break the bat in. It is best to rotate the barrel about a quarter turn every few swings, and to gradually work your swing speed up from about 50%.
Jason
Last year my son used a 29in -10 Easton S3 and loved it. What bat is closest to that? BJ
The first thing you will want to consider is the type of bat you need. This could be either the new USA baseball bats or the traditional USSSA baseball bats. AABC, Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken, Dixie, Little League, and PONY will all be affected by the USABat rule change, but USSSA will not. Currently, USSSA Baseball will allow the use of a bat that carries the new USABat stamp (as long as barrel diameter, drop weight, material specifications, etc. match the specific division's requirements). I say this just so you are aware before making your purchase. Now, if you are interested in a bat that is similar to the 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL17S310, I would recommend the 2018 Easton Beast X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18BX108 if you need a USSSA bat. This will feature a balanced, one-piece, all alloy construction similar to that of the S3. If you need a USA bat, I would recommend the 2018 Easton Beast X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18BX10 for those same reasons.
Dan
My kid is using an Easton MAKO 30 drop 10. Looking at a bat which can be used in Little League. Looked at the Rawlings Quatro, Ghost X and Voodoo. Which should I buy? Which will be equivalent to the MAKO? Abhi
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 is the model that has replaced the MAKO of the past. This would be the most comparable model if seeking to replace an older Easton MAKO and would be legal for Little League in 2018.
Cameron
I recently purchased this bat for my son and the amount of vibration from the bat is somewhat unbearable. I thought he may be exaggerating but after trying for myself I realized he was not. Do you have any recommendations for this issue? jeff
The only remedy that might help out with vibration would be purchasing some thicker grip tape and re-wrapping the handle. The grip tape featured on the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 is 1.4mm thick, so I would recommend trying to get some 1.8mm grip tape to put on the bat.
Logan
My son is 11, weighs 165lbs and is 5'5. Last year in 10u Dixie he used a combat 29-17. We are nervous about going up in ounces too fast. What size bat do you suggest and would he struggle with too much of a difference between last year and this spring? We are trying to decide between this bat and the Easton Hyperlite. baseball mom
Obviously each player will differ in what size bat they are comfortable but given your player's specifications, I would suggest either a 31" or 32" size bat. Now the increase in weight could be noticeable if you were to jump to a drop 10 bat like this 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10, but I you are more than welcome to purchase this bat and take dry swings with and it still return it if your player is unable to handle that amount of weight. We do recommend that all players swing the heaviest bat in which they are comfortable with in order to ensure the best overall performance though.
Tyler
Which is better the Ghost X or Ghost X Hyperlight? Kevin5170
We have not seen anything that would indicate that the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 is better or worse than the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL. Comes down to whether or not you need a lighter bat, such as the Ghost X Hyperlite, or value vibration reduction, which you would receive on the Ghost X.
Cameron
Is hitting TPC heavy balls bad for the Ghost X like it was for the composite bats before this year? Pete
Hitting any ball heavier or more dense than a standard baseball will be hard on any bat, composite or aluminum.
Kyle J.
My son is 9 years old, 4'7" and 66 lbs. I am trying to decide if he can use the Easton Beast X hybrid in 29"- 19 oz or if I should go with the Easton Ghost X in a 28"- 18 oz. Which model and bat size would you recommend? Brian
For a player of your size we would recommend using a 29 inch bat. A player that is 9 years of age can then either go with a -11 or -10 length to weight ratio bat; the correct length to weight ratio to use will depend on how strong the player is based on the weight of their current bat and how well they handle it. Since the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 will feature better overall balance compared to the 2018 Easton Beast X Hybrid -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18BXH10 then we would recommend the Ghost X if seeking a -10 model. If looking at -11 then the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL would be a great bat to get.
Cameron
I am 11 years old, 4'10", and 90 pounds and am playing up in a 12 year old travel league. Last year I used a 29/19 Mako XL and hit with power and high average. What new USA Ghost X would you suggest? Brendan
Based on the information you provided, I would recommend the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 as it will be the most similar model available to that MAKO that you were swinging previously.
Tori
What size would you recommend for a 12 year old, 5'4" and 120 pounds? He used a 2016 Mako 31" (-11) last year which seemed to suit him. I've been thinking about moving him up to a 32". Jake
Based on your player's height and weight, would recommend getting the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 in a 31 inch model. If you feel he can handle a 32 inch bat then there would be nothing wrong going in that direction.
Cameron
My son is 5'1" 138lbs and 13 yrs old. He used a 31/19 2 1/4 inch barrel for 12u travel league last year. He hit .623 with 6 HR. What bat would you suggest for him now that he can use a big barrel. Thanks. BBdad47
I would recommend the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 in a 31/21. This bat features a USA stamp which is approved for play in AABC, Babe Ruth, Cal Ripken, Dixie Youth, Little League, & Pony. If you need a big barrel bat for travel ball, I would recommend the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX108.
Dan
Between the DeMarini CF Zen -10 and the Easton Ghost X -10, which is a better bat for my son? chino
I think both bats are very good models and you'd be fine with either choice. It's still a bit early to determine the best performers for the new USA bats as they have not been out long enough to get a clear picture of customer reviews.
Kyle J.
What is the proper way to break in the ghost X -10? John D
The Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 will require a slight break-in period. We recommend about 50 contact swings off a tee or soft-toss, slowly turning the barrel after each swing.
Dan
My son prefers a thicker bat handle. We've viewed the Ghost X and the handles seem too slender. Any problem wrapping the handle with an addition bat wrap, over the existing one? Daddy D
I don't see any issues if you want to thicken up the grip tape of the bat.
Kyle J.
My grandson is 10 years old. He is 4"10""" and weighs 90 lbs. What model and bat size do you recommend in the Easton GHOST X? Last year he played with a 30 in/19oz, (drop-11) MAKO. Al
Based on your player's specifications, I would recommend either the 30" or 31" Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10. Both would be great fits for your player.
Tyler
My son is 10 and weighs about 75 pounds, not big and powerful buy any stretch, but when he hits it square he can hit it pretty well. Worried the 30in is way too much bat, he currently swings a 29 but will he soon outgrow a 29? anthony
I would recommend the Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 in a 29 inch length. If you expect a growth spurt in the near future, I would recommend going up to a 30 inch and then you can use the bat for a longer period of time.
Dan
My son currently has the Ghost X 2 3/4" bat for travel ball. It is a 29"/19 oz. We are looking for a USA certified bat for Little League. Besides the Easton Ghost X what other bat do you recommend? He likes the two-piece design with a balanced weight. corey
I would also recommend taking a look at the DeMarini Voodoo CF Zen -10 USA. That is also a two-piece, composite design with a balanced swing weight.
Kyle J.
What is Easton's plans on the 30"/20 oz ban? cj
Claims for that banned model can be sent to GhostReturn@Easton.com, or customers can call them at 1-844-531-7079. As far as we are aware, customers need to provide a proof of purchase, then Easton is sending a free shipping label for them to send the item back. Once they receive it, they will send the customer a voucher for Easton products. We cannot confirm the voucher amount at this time, but it will be at least the amount the customer paid originally for the item.
Kyle J.
Is this a composite bat? Hey
Yes, this Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GX10) is a composite material bat.
Ben
I heard about one of the Easton bats being banned by USA. Is this one of the bats? Is this bat still approved for Little League play? Scott
The Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 is certified with USA play and will be legal in Little League play. The Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 will not be banned by little league or USA.
Max
I just bought this bat for my son for his birthday and now I am sick after reading the reviews. Is the bat really that bad? I've hit about 100 balls with it, and it seems to perform great. My son likes it but I can see where it may take some more "breaking in." I'd like to hear more people talking about it after the break in period. I think a lot of people gave up on it too soon, but may be wrong. Paul
The Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 was the bat that essentially replaced the Easton MAKO models that everyone was enamored with at the Little League level. Unfortunately these bats cannot perform at the same clip due to the restrictions placed on the barrels of the USA bats. Across the board, there was a lot of upset consumers with the new USA bats as the performance drop off was very noticeable.
Cameron
What does it mean to be a USA bat? Colby
The USA Bat certification was adopted by many leagues around the country on January 1, 2018. It enforces a lower performance threshold for all of the bats and will be noticeably lower in "pop" when compared to a USSSA model. This Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 is USA approved.
Tyler
Can this bat be used in USSSA? jill diederichs
The Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 can be used in USSSA but will perform at a lower clip.
Cameron
Is this a NSA stamped bat Melissa Munoz
The Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 is USA stamped only.
