Cons: My son has only had this bat for a couple of months and the top cap piece is broken. My son is on his last year of little league before entering high school and needed something that would get him through the season. Disappointed that the bat didn't last.

Cons: not durable. My son and another player on his team have this same bat and both have a dent mid-way down the barrel causing an angle. Nothing hit except for baseballs. Occurred 1-2months into season. Two different coaches told us to try and return. In process now.

Do you think this bat will be too heavy for an 8 year old? He is a big kid, about 4' and 75 pounds and can hit good. pete

For an 8 year old player, we would recommend looking more at a -10 length to weight ratio bat or possibly lighter if need be. I have this bat in a 28"/20 oz. I have two 9 year olds. One weighs 93 lbs and the other 75 lbs, both 54 inches tall. Is this a good bat for them? chad

At the 28"/20 oz size, your model of this 2018 Easton S450 -8 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18S4508) might be a little short for both players. For the lighter weight player, our bat coach recommends a 29" bat. For the heavier player, we recommend a 30" bat. If you wanted a bat that will work for the two of them, you might look to a bat in the 30"/20 oz weight. The bat might be a little longer for your lighter-weight son, but I think that size of bat would present the best option to satisfy both players' needs.

I have a 12 year old that only weighs 81 lbs and is right at 5" tall. I am trying to see if the 30' 22 oz would be the way to go with him. Jenn

For a player of your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2018 Easton S450 -8 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18S4508 in a 30/22 model assuming you feel he can handle the weight of the bat. This would be predicated more on the current bat he is using from a weight standpoint and how well he is handling it.

My boy used a 30" Easton Flying Tiger Aluminum Bat last year. This year, with the new little league rules, we need to get a new bat. He is 5 ft 4 inches tall, weighs 135 lbs, and will be 11 at the end of March. According to the size chart, he should be in a 32 inch bat, but that seems like too much stick for him. Looking for a solid recommendation on size for him. Coach Dave

I would probably recommend a 31" length of bat if 32" feels like a lot. The size charts and recommendations are mostly meant to get people in the ballpark of what size they should use, and should not be take as exact guidelines, as they are always other factors besides height and weight that play into what length someone should use. Other examples are how far they stand from the plate, if they ever choke up, strength, swing efficiency, etc.
