Super Hot Bat Rod M parent

Pros: My daughter has hit Demarini bats for the past 4 years and at the end of season finally tried the 2018 LXT and liked it a lot so we bought her the new 2019 and she crushed a grand slam in her first tournament using it. I feel like she's getting another 20' on her balls since switching to this bat. Would highly recommend this bat.

Cons: None so far

BREAK IT IN Joe coach

Pros: When we first hit this bat out of the wrapper, we expected more. We were told the bat was HOT OUT OF THE WRAPPER and the next technology would make the sweet spot larger and hotter. That information was not 100% correct. You need to break in this bat. After about 100-150 balls off the tee, LOOK OUT! This bat went from dud to very Hot and my daughter is hitting line drives with greater distance than her Demarini. My advice, get this bat and hit a lot of balls to break it in. You will not be disappointed.

Cons: The only reason we did not give it 5 stars on the Pop is due to the break-in time. Some competitors are hotter out of the wrapper. This bat requires a patient break-in period, but you will be happier in the end with the overall performance.

demarini killa Jordan Parent

Pros: My daughter had been swinging a 2017 DeMarini cfx. She just got the Louisville Slugger lxt same length and weight as the DeMarini. As her father and hitting instructor there is an obvious difference in sound feel and results. The lxt has a considerably louder sound with good contact but definitely more velocity off the barrel of the bat. I am just going from an observation standpoint but the look in my daughter's eyes when she hits it solid tells me that we made a good switch. Trying to be objective as possible she is hitting the ball more solid then ever with the new lxt.

Cons: Simply haven't had enough time to test the durability.

Great bat Scott Parent

Pros: Very balanced swing. Lots of Pop. It says hot out of the wrapper and it's not bad but after about 100 hits it really comes to life. Daughter loves the rattle sound!

Cons: Only con is that she has only hit 12 softballs with it and a small spot on the barrel has chipped. But it gives it some character.

Replaced the Ghost Mike Parent

Pros: This is our first LVS LXT. Our daughter plays 14u travel ball. Like many others out there, she has gone through her share of Ghost bats. After the last one shattered, I couldn't bring myself to purchase another one. The problem was convincing her to go another route with a lot of success and power with the Ghost. I went out on a limb and made this purchase. We got the 32" drop 9 for a tournament that was coming up. At first she was disappointed with the pop as she is a power hitter. While the Ghost is hot immediately, this one took some breaking in. Once it was, though, oh boy. She loves it. I was worried this was going to be a short-lived affair and I would be back to the Ghost, much to my financial dismay. I am happy to report that is not the case. Also, you can make a custom bat as well on the LV site with a ton of color choices. I think that is new this year.

Cons: It does require some break in time.

Hello. Can you tell me the difference between this LXT and last year's LXT? Chris
Both are great options. The main differences between the models are the LS Pro Comfort Grip and the VCX Technology. The Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 features the new LS Pro Comfort Grip to give the player better control over their swing. As well as the VCX Technology that lets the barrel and handle move independently from one another. This technology allows for greater power and reduced vibration.
Daveron
How do I break in this bat? Syd
We recommend breaking in the Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 by about 150-200 swings off a tee or soft toss to break in your composite bat. Begin by swinging at about 50% power and increase your bat speed as you go, making sure to rotate the barrel a 1/4" after each swing to ensure complete barrel coverage.
Cooper
What is the difference between the LXT and the PXT? Is it the weight balance? Tom
The Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 will be more balanced and offer more flex on contact compared to the Louisville Slugger PXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPPX19A10. The PXT is essentially designed more so for those players that are more of a "power" type hitter.
Cameron
What is the difference between the LXT and Xeno? lance
The Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 is a three-piece bat. This construction assist players who need some help to generate bat speed. The multiple piece allow for flex in the bat. Contact hitters tend to find success with this option. While the Louisville Slugger XENO -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPXN19A10 has a two-piece construction. This will be a stiffer bat. Both stronger contact and power hitters find success with this option.

Is it really worth paying the extra $100 for the new LXT vs last year's LXT? Also, is there a big difference between a drop 11 or drop 10? I am looking at the 32" drop 10, but maybe the drop 11 will be a bit lighter. Or will it be unbalanced? Kris
The Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 offers VCX Technology, which is a slight improvement on the TRU3 Connection piece featured on previous LXT bats. Other than that, the older year bat and this model are very similar. A -11 will certainly be lighter to swing if your player might struggle a bit with a heavier -10.
Logan
Does this bat have an USSSA stamp? Dlotty
Yes, the Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 is dual stamped. Approved for both ASA and USSSA play.
Daveron
Is this bat balanced or end loaded? Lance
The Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 is balanced.
Tori
Is it legal for USSSA and high school? Malcolm
Yes, the Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 is ASA and USSSA certified which means that it is legal for both.
Tori
I see it's good for use in USSSA, ASA, ISA, even high school. what about FASA and USFA organizations? Michael cox
To our knowledge, the Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 would be legal for any fastpitch game or tournament.
Cameron
At what temperature is it recommended to NOT use this bat? kendra hedrick
When the temperature sinks below 55 degrees, the ball becomes denser and has the ability to damage the barrel walls of the bat. If a player is participating in a practice that is being held in conditions with a temperature below 55 degrees, we would recommend using an older model bat that will no longer be used for games. If a game is being held in conditions below 55 degrees we would recommend taking batting practice with a non-game model bat and then only using the Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTLFPLX19A10) in the actual game.
Ben
My daughter is more of a line drive hitter. She definitely isn't a home run hitter. Is this right bat for her? Bob
Yes, the Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 is a balanced bat that is a good choice for contact hitters.
Tori
Is it a good bat for a power hitter ? Michael heath
The Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 is a great option for a power or contact hitter. Another option to consider is the stiffer two-piece of the Louisville Slugger XENO -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPXN19A10. The three-piece construction of the LXT allows for more flex and helps generate bat speed. The stiffer Xeno benefits power hitters who can generate their own bat speed.

My 14 year old daughter is 5’5” and weighs approximately 125 lbs. She currently uses a 32”/22 oz. sized DeMarini bat (it is a tad too heavy for her). Would you recommend purchasing a 33”/22 oz or 32”/21 oz LXT? Mark H
Based upon your daughter's height and weight I would go with the Louisville Slugger LXT -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A11 in a 32'' 21 oz.
Max
We purchased a new Louisville Slugger LXT bat, but when my daughter took it to lessons and took the plastic off we noticed some rough areas where the paint isn’t smooth. Is this ok? Jodi
Yes, the Louisville Slugger LXT has some rougher areas of the paint by design.
Kyle J.
What is the recommend break in period/drill for this bat? Mike
Generally speaking, you will want to get about 200 hits on the barrel (turning after every 10-15) of the Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 to fully break-in the model. Also, both front toss and tee work are the best for this process.
Tyler

Yes, the Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 has a 12 month manufacturer's warranty.
Tori
Is this bat OK to use at the batting cages with hard softballs ? Or batting cage balls ? John
We don't recommend using the Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 with anything other than regular softballs as it can cause the bat to become defective or crack.
Tori
Is it approved for middle school and high school play? Steve Stanley
Yes, the Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 will be legal for middle school and high school fastpitch play.

Unfortunately the Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 is no longer available at 34 inches and 24 ounces. The Louisville Slugger LXT X20 -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLXD1020 is the bat that has replaced the previous year's model.
Cameron
Is there a 33'' 23oz available? Tom
We do not have the Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 33'' available.
Max
What is the difference between this bat vs the new LXT? Danny Waters
The only difference between the Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 and the Louisville Sluger LXT X20 -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLXD1020 will be that the 2020 uses a higher quality composite meaning better performance overall.
Ben
Is this bat CIF approved? Ernie Guerrero
Yes, the Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 has all the necessary stamps for use at the high school and college levels, as well as any below that.
Cameron
Is it light weight? Lighter than a Ghost. Makayla
This is considered a well balanced bat.
Kyle
My daughter is 9 and is 75 lbs. What size of this bat do you recommend? Donald
Without knowing the player's height, it would be hard to say what length to get the Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 in. Most likely, based on her height and weight, the length would be 30 inches as this is the smallest size made.
Cameron
I am also looking at the -12 bat on Amazon is there a performance difference? mark
The Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 will have a potential for higher performance than the -12 because of the additional weight. The only caveat to that is that if you can swing the -12 exponentially faster than the -10 then it will have a higher performance.
Max
My daughter currently uses a DeMarini Bustos, 17 oz, 30 in. What do you think should be her next bat? Jennifer
The correct bat to get your daughter will be more determined by her height, weight, age and how well she is handling her current bat's weight. The Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 is certainly an excellent option to consider for someone seeking to get into heavier bats as this model is going to be LS's most balanced option.
Cameron
Is the LXT a balanced or an end loaded bat? Alex Garcia
The Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 features a balanced swing weight.
Cameron
My daughter is using the RXT currently and is hitting great with it, but I don’t see it on any of the top rated lists. What is the differences between the RXT and LXT for this season? Mike
The Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX19A10 will be more balanced compared to the Louisville Slugger RXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WBL2448010. If the hitter is more of a "power" hitter, then the RXT, with its stiffer connection point, would make a better choice over the LXT, which is more geared towards "contact" hitters.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
