Son loves it!!! Chad B. Parent

Pros: He says it has great pop and loves how light it feels when he swings it because there is no vibration. He Is only 12 playing 14U and not a big guy only weighs 95lbs. So if he can hit solid line drives then anyone bigger then him should hit bombs.

Good bat for line drives N. Swanson Parent

Pros: My son has had great success with this bat. He is in 7th grade and we decided to go with the BBCOR as he will soon have to use it anyway for travel ball. He has been hitting great hard line drives with it. He is not so much a power hitter but sold single line drive hitter and this bat has been great for him.

Solo 619 review Brett Patnode Player

Pros: Pop right out of the box! Has a nice loud sound to it as it is a one piece, and it also has a huge sweet spot for being such a balanced bat.

Cons: The grip feels great, but it came apart so easy, I’ve had it for two weeks and already need to put a lizard skin on it.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS619B3? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

What is the difference between this model and last year's model? jackS
The two main differences between this year's and last year's Solos will be their vibration control technology and the grip. This Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTLBBS619B3) features the new LS Pro Comfort Grip and a handle design that incorporates Vibex. Vibex is used to help dampen harsh vibrations, allowing for more comfortable swings.
Taylor
Just wondering what is the difference in this bat compared to the Prime and Meta Prime. My son prefers a lighter swinging feel to a bat but also, of course, likes the pop a bat gives. This will be his first year swinging a BBCOR -3. Mike rhyne
The Louisville Slugger Solo 619 is a one-piece, all aluminum model while the Louisville Slugger Prime and Meta Prime are multi-piece, composite models. This means the Prime and Meta Prime will offer better vibration dampening on mishits and more flex in the swing, while the Solo will have a stiffer feel during the swing. The barrel length and sweet spot is typically a bit more generous with composite models as well, although alloy models are generally more durable and longer lasting.
Kyle J.
How should I break in this bat? Trae Zegarra
The Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTLBBS619B3) is a one-piece all alloy design. It will be game-ready right out of the wrapper.
John
Does this bat have a lot of pop? Rob
Yes, due to quality performance reviews from customers on last year's Solo 618 BBCOR and quality reviews on this Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTLBBS619B3), I would say this bat has good "pop".
Ben
As far as pop is concerned, how does it compare to the Easton Project 3 ADV? Rob
The performance of the Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS619B3 and the Project 3 ADV will be very similar as each are held to the same BBCOR performance threshold. The Solo 619 will have a lighter swing weight though.
Tyler
32" version of this bat has a SWI score of 805. A 33" bat is at 890 in regard to SWI score. Will a 33" produce longer hits? Northville
If your player is strong enough and consistent enough to continually get the 33" length bat around and connect with a baseball on the barrel he should be able to hit the ball harder and further with a 33" version of this bat.
Ben
How does this compare to the Omaha 33" regarding swing weight and balance? Steph
The Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS619B3 will be more balanced and have a lighter swing weight than the Louisville Slugger Omaha 519 -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WTLSLO519X10.
Tori
Does this bat come in 28" length? Does this bat require a break-in period? fred wilber
Unfortunately, the Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTLBBS619B3) is not made in a 28" length. The smallest BBCOR-certified Solo 619 will be 29"/26 oz. Because this bat features an aluminum barrel, it will not require a break-in period.
Taylor
I just wanted to know the difference between the Omaha 519 and the Solo 619 BBCOR bats? My son is 15 and on the smaller side. Jose Rivera
Both the LS Omaha 519 and the Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS619B3 are one-piece alloy bats with balanced swing weights. The Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS619B3 will feature a composite end cap though thus making it the more balanced of the two.
Cameron
How would this bat compare to the Marucci CAT 8? For a freshman going to play varsity which would you recommend, the 619 or CAT 8? He is a hitter with great contact and slightly more than average power. Logan Kraus
The Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS619B3 and the CAT 8 are both one-piece alloy bats, so they are comparable in that manner. However, the 619 is slightly more balanced and seems to be a better fit for true contact hitters. Since he has some power while also being a contact hitter, the CAT would probably be a better fit since it will add just a little bit of extra weight and power behind the ball.
Tori
I just want to know does this bat have lots of pop? Devin
With the BBCOR certification, all bats will have the same performance threshold that imitates a wood bat option as close as possible. The Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS619B3 is a one piece alloy and for players that can make constant contact with the sweet spot, they will have success with this option.
Daveron
Is this bat end weighted? Cody Kiemele
The Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS619B3 will feature a balance swing weight. This is one of the most balanced BBCOR options.
Daveron
Is this bat balanced? frankie Caldone
Yes, the Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS619B3 will feature a balanced swing weight.
Daveron
Does this bat work for non power hitters? Allie
Yes, the Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS619B3 is a balanced bat that is a good fit for contact hitters.
Tori
What is the difference between model # WTLBBS619B and your model? Stratford
The Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS619B3 is the same bat as the model # WTLBBS619B.
Cameron
Is there a difference between the Solo and the Omaha other than the lighter end cap? Chris
The lighter end cap will be the only difference in the performance of the two bats. The other difference is that the Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS619B3 will have a white barrel which is not approved for play in NCAA baseball.
Ben
Between the LS Solo, the Victus Vandal, & the Marucci CAT 8, which bat will have the most balanced swing weight? Craig
The Victus Vandal BBCOR Baseball Bat: VCBV would be a slightly more balanced swing weight than the Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS619B3 and the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8
Patrick
My son is 5' 3" and weighs 100 lbs. His middle school requires a drop 3 or drop 5 bat. Since he is transitioning from a drop 11 LS Solo last year, would the LS Solo BBCOR -3 be easier for him to swing due to its balanced swing, or perhaps the LS Select -5 USA due to its lighter weight (but more end loader)? Thanks Shannon
The -5 model should feel ever so slightly lighter, but it will not be a significant difference. The top heavy design typically means a bat will feel an oz heavier than listed, so a -5 might feel like a -4 to some players. Also, the LS Solo is one of the most balanced bats on the market, so a -3 in that model would not be too far off from a -5 end-loaded model. It is going to be a large jump either way since he was using a -11.
Kyle
Is this an USSSA approved bat? Tony
Yes, BBCOR bats are allowed for USSSA play. They do not have to have the USSSA stamp.
Kyle
How does the 619 compare to the 2020 model Solo? Are they the same bat, what are the differences between these two bats? The Legendary Deuce
The end cap on the Louisville Slugger Solo BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS620B3 has been updated/changed compared to what is featured on the Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS619B3. This should lend the newer model a more balanced swing weight.
Cameron
How does this bat compare to the Marucci CAT 7? I am trying to choose between these two bats. I bat 3rd in the lineup and I will be a freshman this year. I am 5’5/5’6 and around 130 lbs with pretty good strength. I want to be able to hit the ball far for extra base hits and drive runners in but still have a balanced bat that allows me to get the bat around in time. Will
Both the Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS619B3 and the Marucci CAT 7 are excellent one-piece alloy bats with a balanced swing weight. The LS Solo is likely to be more balanced due to the composite end cap design and does offer some vibration control with the Vibex technology incorporated into the handle. The CAT 7 features the AV2 knob and will also cut down on the vibration from off-centered hits, likely more so than the Solo 619. Both bats would work great for both contact and power hitters alike and which one to get ultimately comes down to player preference.
Cameron
How is the vibration on the bat? I’m 13 just getting into BBCOR bats and I’m stuck between this bat and the Rawlings Velo? Any recommendations on which one to choose? Kyle
The Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS619B3 does have a vibration dampening handle, but like with any one-piece bat, there will still be a bit of vibration. I don't think you can go wrong between the Solo 619 and the Velo as they will have pretty similar feels. The composite end cap on the Velo will make it slightly more balanced.
Tori
Whats different between this bat and the Omaha 519 series? Mason
The Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS619B3 and Omaha 519 will be very similar in overall design. However, the biggest difference is the 619 will have a lighter swing weight and faster swing speed than the 519.
Tori
How will this bat's pop be affected by cold weather as our season starts in February in Tennessee and the temps can be pretty cool to cold. Are there other recommendations as far as better bats for cooler temps? clint
There is not one bat or kind of bat that will be the best when the weather dips below 55 degrees Fahrenheit. With that being said, an alloy barrel bat, like the Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS619B3, would be our general recommendation as alloy tends to hold up better in colder climates.
Cameron
Is the next model going to be a one piece? Daniel
Yes, the Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS619B3, and any other Solo moving forward, will be a one-piece alloy bat.
Cameron
My son is now playing middle school ball. Going from drop 10 to drop 3 is huge. He is 11, 5’1” and 100 lbs. Which 29” bat would be easier to swing? The 518, 519 or 619? Taj
The Louisville Slugger Solo 619 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS619B3 is a more balanced model than LS Omaha bats. We would recommend a Solo if seeking the lightest swinging bat from LS.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
