David David G parent

Pros: I purchased the 30/18, the bat is true to weight and has a balanced swing. My 10 year old is in love with his new bat. The bat is hot out the wrapper. I do not know how durable it is since he's only taken a 150 swings with it. He hit some sizzling line drives on the field today. I wonder how hot it will get once it's fully broken in, He did not complain at all of any hand vibrations.

Cons: None at all. Still worried about durability but we will see what happens.

Great bat but does not hold up Chris Carroll Coach

Pros: Great Pop and light weight for the younger players. My son plays 10U travel baseball and the light weight allowed him to get around on fast pitching.

Cons: The bad started to get fractured line on the barrel and after only 2 months the end cap came off shortly after that. Rawlings has a great bat if they can find away for it to hold up. I am sending the bat back this week.

Breaks Easily Ben Taylor Coach

Pros: Great bat but not worth any investment if it won't last.

Cons: Had the bat and it busted inside a month. Got the replacement and it busted inside of a week. Rawlings agreed to give us a second warranty replacement but won't give the model another try. Will move up to the -10 and hope for the best. If that one busts, we will move to Easton or Louisville and give them a try.

Cracked in 3 Weeks AJ Coach

Pros: Bat was true to weight, and hot. Good pop while it lasted.

Cons: My son is 10 years old 70 lbs. The bat cracked within 3 weeks. He never used it in a cold environment. We were at an indoor facility when it just cracked on him while taking a round of batting practice.

GREAT Pop, Zero Durability Eric DeVors Coach

Pros: - Outstanding pop and sweet spot - Lightweight - Nice grip - Beautiful cosmetic design(pictures online don't do the bat justice)

Cons: -Durability -Durability -Did I say durability? We had a 2018 model -12 Quatro Pro that barrel exploded on after about 200 swings. We were sent a 2019 model as a warranty replacement. The 2019 model ALMOST made it through an entire season before breaking at the handle. If you don't mind dropping $250 for a bat to break mid-season, then the bat is great. Just make sure you're buying the bat with a warranty because you'll need it.

Have a question about the Rawlings Quatro Pro -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: UT9Q12? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

What is difference between this bat and the VELO drop 12? Are they comparable? Mike
The main difference between the Velo and the Rawlings Quatro Pro -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: UT9Q12 is that the Quatro Pro is a multi-piece composite model. How does this differ from the Quatro Pro $349 bat besides the drop number? Which is better? Karen
There isn't any difference between the Rawlings Quatro Pro -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: UT9Q12 and the heavier Quatro Pro models other than the weight. Players have the best results swinging the longest heaviest bat they can with good speed and mechanics. For example, if your player can swing a 30" 20 ounce Rawlings Quatro Pro -10 USSSA Bat: UT9Q10, that would be better for him than the 30" 18 ounce Rawlings Quatro Pro -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: UT9Q12.

About the Brand

Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.

The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.

In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.

In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.

The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.

Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
