Description

The Marucci Bat Company™ takes pride in turning top quality wooden baseball bats in the same tradition and precise technique of the earliest bat companies. Every Marucci Bat™ is cut, calibrated, balanced, buffed and lacquered by hand. The Marucci Bat Company™ uses top grade Maple billets cut from selected, naturally grown trees in Pennsylvania forests. This selection process insures the highest possible grade of wood for each bat. The Marucci Bat Company™ bats are 100 percent handmade or turned in small batches from an original design, then finished and detailed by hand. Each model is made to exacting specifications maximizing balance and ease of handling. The Marucci Bat Company™ uses an Ultra Penetrating Stain that provides the best possible finish for your next Marucci Bat. Most impressive is the Bone Rubbing technique that The Marucci Bat Company™ uses. `Boning` bats began in the earliest days of baseball with players like Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. These Hall-of-Famers would spend hours in their dugouts rubbing their bats with old cow femur bones. Bone Rubbing closes the wood`s pores, compressing it and making it harder. Marucci uses the same technique on their bats, rubbing before the finish is applied to seal and harden the wood. Just another example of how Marucci takes the same pride in their bats as our baseball heroes once did. Experience the excellence of a Marucci Bat PAPI34. Free Shipping! Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Marucci David Ortiz Maple Wood Baseball Bat: PAPI34? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is this bat stronger than any ordinary Marucci bat? mr.october44
The Marucci David Ortiz Maple Wood Baseball Bat (PAPI34) will have similar durability to all the other models in the Marucci maple line.
Patrick
Would you recommend this bat or a DeMarini DX110 for a batter who just wants to make contact with the ball in high school varsity? mr.october33
The Marucci David Ortiz Maple Wood Baseball Bat (PAPI34) and the DeMarini DX110 would both do the trick. I have heard the 110 turn model from DeMarini does feel more light weight and balanced. Your hitting style may prefer it a bit more.
Brandon
I'm 6'1 250. I play at the varsity level. I've been using my Easton XL1 for regular season but I need a wood bat now. I should be using a 33" and not 34" right? Also, which bat is going to feel more end-loaded, the AP5 or the Papi34? Is there a difference between the PAPI34 and the DO34? Chris
Yes, we would recommend a 33" for your height and weight. Both the PAPI34 and the AP5 will have an end loaded swing weight. I would consider the AP5 to have just a slight end load while the PAPI34 to be a full. The difference between the PAPI34 and the DO34 will be the type of wood used. The PAPI34 will use a hard maple while the DO34 will use ash.
John
Would this be closer to a 271 turn model or would the AP5 be closer? Chris
Neither the AP5 or the Marucci David Ortiz Maple Wood Baseball Bat (PAPI34) will be close to the 271 turn. Marucci creates their own standard turn models from their factory. The AP5 will be more balanced. The PAPI34 will have more of a barrel heavy feel to it.

Do the DO34 and Papi34 play the same? My son likes the DO34 Ash bat a lot, but I think the maple would be more rugged. How does the weight distribution of the DO34 ash bat and the Papi34 maple bat compare? Hitting feel? He is a college player using a 34" bat. Chet
The Marucci David Ortiz Maple Wood Baseball Bat (PAPI34) and the Marucci David Ortiz Ash Wood Baseball Bat (DO34 Adult) will both feature the same specs. The only real difference is going to be the type of wood. The maple will feel heavier and provide a stiffer bat, whereas the ash will be slightly lighter and offer more flex.
