The Marucci Bat Company™ takes pride in turning top quality wooden baseball bats in the same tradition and precise technique of the earliest bat companies. Every Marucci Bat™ is cut, calibrated, balanced, buffed and lacquered by hand. The Marucci Bat Company™ uses top grade Maple billets cut from selected, naturally grown trees in Pennsylvania forests. This selection process insures the highest possible grade of wood for each bat. The Marucci Bat Company™ bats are 100 percent handmade or turned in small batches from an original design, then finished and detailed by hand. Each model is made to exacting specifications maximizing balance and ease of handling. The Marucci Bat Company™ uses an Ultra Penetrating Stain that provides the best possible finish for your next Marucci Bat. Most impressive is the Bone Rubbing technique that The Marucci Bat Company™ uses. `Boning` bats began in the earliest days of baseball with players like Babe Ruth and Lou Gerig. These Hall-of-Famers would spend hours in their dugouts rubbing their bats with old cow femur bones. Bone Rubbing closes the wood`s pores, compressing it and making it harder. Marucci uses the same technique on their bats, rubbing before the finish is applied to seal and harden the wood. Just another example of how Marucci takes the same pride in their bats as our baseball heroes once did. Experience the excellence of a Marucci Bat. Free Shipping! add_circle_outlinePros: Excellent weight distribution. Thin handle, good sized barrel. Perfect for contact hitters with a decent amount of pop. Still has a lot of hits left in it. I don't wear batting gloves, so I took a little sandpaper to the handle to take the shine off and make it a little thinner--makes the tar stick
remove_circle_outlineCons: Everybody else wants to swing it.
add_circle_outlinePros: Amazing pop, hit 2 homers in1 weekend when i got it... also very very durable. I've been jammed at least 6 times with this bat and it will not crack! Easily the most durable bat I've ever swung.
remove_circle_outlineCons: None at all, well worth the price
What is the difference between this bat and the Cutch22 bat?
The Marucci Jose Reyes and the Marucci Andrew McCutchen will be very similar. The handle on the Cutch22 will be slightly bigger than the JR7 model and it has a different paint job.
I would like to know what bat is better for me. I am a leadoff hitter and I like a thin handle and thin barrel. Which one is best for me, the JB19 model or the JR7 model? I am 5'9" and 147 lbs.
The Marucci Jose Bautista Maple Wood Bat: JB19 has a slightly smaller barrel (2.5") compared to the Marucci Jose Reyes Maple Wood Bat: JR7 (2.52"). However, the Marucci Jose Reyes Maple Wood Bat: JR7 has a slightly thinner handle (.92") compared to the Marucci Jose Bautista Maple Wood Bat: JB19 (.9375"). The Marucci Jose Bautista Maple Wood Bat: JB19 is known to feel just a little more balanced. Thus, I would recommend the JB19.
Which is more balanced, the Marucci JR7 or the Marucci JB19?
The Marucci Jose Bautista Maple Wood Bat: JB19 Adult is more balanced than the JR7. The JR7 is ideal for hitters that have experience hitting with wood bats and like to feel the barrel during the swing.
How does the feel of this bat compare to the feel of a 271 turning model?
The handle of the Marucci Jose Reyes Maple Wood Bat: JR7 Black Adult bat will be slightly skinnier than the 271 model. Also, the barrel diameter will be slightly larger than the 271 model. Because of that, the JR7 will have a heavier swing weight than most 271 turn models and is ideal for those with experience hitting with wood.
I mainly hit line drives and an occasional double in the gap, and I like thin handles like the one the Louisville Slugger P72, and I wanna try out a Marucci. How would this bat compare to the P72?
The Marucci Jose Reyes Maple Wood Bat: JR7 Black Adult has a slightly thinner handle than the P72 model. It will have a large 2 1/2" barrel as well.
What is the warranty on this?
The Marucci Jose Reyes Maple Wood Bat: (JR7) unfortunately, does not have a warranty.
How does this bat compare with the Marucci Chase Utley CU26B?
The Marucci Jose Reyes Maple Wood Bat (JR7) will feel more end loaded than the Marucci Chase Utley (CU26B). The JR7 will be designed more towards a power hitter than the CU26B model which is more for a contact hitter.
Would the JR7, CU26, or a Victus wood bat be better for me? I am a power hitter, 6 foot and 202 pounds.
The Marucci Jose Reyes Maple Wood Baseball Bat (JR7 Black Adult), the CU26 and the Victus are all going to be Maple wood bats. The JR7 and the CU26 both have the bone rubbing technique done, which closes pores to compress and make the wood harder. So I would suggest going with either of those.
I am a 15 year old power hitter. Is this a good model for me?
The Marucci Jose Reyes Maple Wood Baseball Bat (JR7 Black Adult) is an excellent option for a power or gap hitter with a narrow handle, quick barrel taper and a large barrel creating a slightly end loaded swing weight.
How does the JR7 compare to the DO34 and PAPI34?
The Marucci Jose Reyes Maple Wood Baseball Bat: JR7 Black Adult and Marucci David Ortiz Maple Wood Baseball Bat: PAPI34 are both going to be Maple wood bats, whereas the Marucci David Ortiz Ash Wood Baseball Bat: DO34 Adult is going to be an Ash wood bat. Typically, Ash bats are more forgiving than Maple bats and players say that they can feel the ball more when hitting with Ash. Ash wood is also going to be more flexible than Maple wood. Maple bats are harder and stiffer than Ash, however this also makes them more durable. All of the bats are going to feature a large barrel, thick handle, and traditional knob.
What is the difference between the Jose Reyes and the Chase Utley CU26 bats. Both balanced and thin handles I see.
Both the Marucci Chase Utley Maple Wood Bat (CU26B) Adult and the Marucci Jose Reyes Maple Wood Bat (JR7) Black Adult are good choices. They feature all the same specifications the only thing different may be the Marucci label sticker and model number. They will feel the same in your hands and while swinging.
