This Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 is a two-piece, hybrid design that features a carbon composite handle with the new AZ4X alloy barrel. Marucci's AZ4X alloy barrel offers increased strength and durability with a much higher response rate. Great Bat!! Dawson Huckabay player

Pros: This bat has a lot of pop. Allows you to drive the ball all over the field and also for big power guys to drive out of the park! It feels really good in your hands. I like to control my bat and I can do so with this bat. No vibration and sounds good off the bat!! Also it looks sweet

Great bat with TONS of power!!! John M parent

Pros: Just picked up this bat yesterday for my 14 yr old son...big power hitter and previously used Rip-It Helium. He has been using Rip-It bats for years...found a new love in Marucci. Bat is weighted perfectly for power hitters. Tons of power and pop off the bat right out of the box. Just from using it one day he said he is never going back to another bat...Marucci lover for life now.

Cons: Stock grip was a little too thin in his hands...had to have Lizard Skin installed for a better feel. Aside from that, no other issues with the bat.

Great Bat!!!! Eddie Chitwood parent

Pros: I purchased this bat for my son to replace his Louisville Slugger 716 hybrid bat. He is 15 and a solid base hitter. I was very sceptical about the bat since this was the first "two piece" bat from Maruccci. I did tons of research and made alot of phone calls before I made the purchase. I have NO REGRETS on buying this bat. This bat is hot right out of the box. My son quickly adjusted to it and started pounding the baseball. He loves this bat! The only negative he had was the grip. He likes a fat, "squishy" grip. So we replaced the factory grip with a 1.8mm Lizardskin grip. Every player wants to use his bat because it's so hot. No vibration at all. Great job Maruccci!

Cons: The players say the "ping" from the bat is ear piercing! But who cares when you're hitting doubles and collecting RBIs.

Great Bat Kenneth Bone player

Pros: It's a great bat with a good amount of pop. I swing the 34 and love it, although the pop has gone down after a year or so of consistent use. I would definitely recommend this bat.

Cons: Pop goes down with time, which is kind of expected. Also, the stock grip falls apart so I replaced mine with vulcan tape.

Pros: This bat has A TON OF POP. It has a slightly end-loaded feel. I've hit multiple over the fence home runs in games. This bat has no sting or vibration when hitting.

Cons: The white paint scratches easily and gets dirty easily. The grip has an odd feeling (Replaced mine with lizard skin). When a ball is hit, the bat has an ear-piercing ping.

Not as good as I expected Will Player

Pros: Not much good stuff to say

Cons: The bat is very top-heavy which I don't like. Also, for the longest time Ive been wondering why I havent been hitting the ball as far as I knew I could, but then I started trying out a few of my teammates bats and now Im hitting bombs. This bat just has surprisingly little pop compared to the other bats I tried; like the Easton Mako Beast, and Louisville Select 719.

disappointing Alexi Weinberg Player

Pros: sting reduction is excellent. This bat is good for pure power hitters who are used to end-loaded bats.

Cons: I was very excited when Marucci finally came out with a two piece bat, but the Marucci Cat7 Connect is way too end loaded/top heavy. Messes up my barrel angle and has relatively low pop, which quickly decreased over time. I'd recommend the Easton Ghost X as an alternative, or the CF Zen

Great bat ChrisK Parent

Pros: Got this for my son to use this past season (spring/summer 2019); he played on his HS freshman team and Babe Ruth (spring and summer travel). Had a much better year than last year when he used a different bat, which ironically was more expensive. He knew about this bat from a teammate the year before, so we got it for him for Christmas. Batted cleanup for FR.

Cons: Had to replace the wrapping after a few months; not a huge deal.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Marucci CAT7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

What is the difference between the CAT 7 and the CAT 7 Connect? Randy
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 is a two-piece hybrid design while the CAT 7 is a one-piece alloy design. The CAT 7 Connect also features Marucci's newest innovation, the SDX Connection, for a smooth and solid feeling at contact with reduced vibration.
John P.
Is the CAT 7 Connect more end loaded than the CAT 7? Eric
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 features a power balanced barrel with a higher M.O.I in comparison to the CAT 7. This creates a heavier feeling barrel and is designed to provide players effortless power.
Carter
What sizes is the CAT 7 Connect available in? James
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 is only available in a BBCOR model with a -3 length to weight ratio.
John P.
Can this bat be heat rolled? Jbird
We do not recommend that you roll the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 or any other bat for that matter. Rolling the bat does void the manufacturer warranty so if anything were to happen to the bat, Marucci would not replace it if it had been rolled.
Cooper
LS Prime 916, LS Prime 917, Marucci Cat 7 Connect. What are the differences between these 2017 bats? Mark
The Louisville Slugger 916 is a 2016 bat. The Louisville Slugger 917 is the 2017 version of the 916 with the main difference being the New Improved TRU3 with Dynamic Socket Connection which offers Increased Durability and Superior Feel on Contact. The Cat 7 connect is an all new offering from Marucci which is going to have a composite handle with an aluminum barrel.
Carter
What is the main difference between the Marucci Cat 7 and the Marucci Cat 7 Connect? Is the extra $100 worth it for a contact hitter? Jason
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 has a one-piece alloy design and the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 has a two-piece hybrid construction with a composite handle and an alloy barrel. Typically contact hitters prefer a two-piece design such as the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect as it has additional barrel flex that creates more of a trampoline effect.
Angelique
My son is moving up to the BBCOR bats. I'm debating on the CAT 7 Connect and the regular CAT 7. Which one would you suggest for him (5", 95 lbs and a contact hitter)? Brandon
Based upon your player's height and weight, my general recommendation for a model of BBCOR bat would probably be for a 30" or 31" bat. This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBCC7) will come with a bit of end-loaded feel to it which may make it more difficult for swinging by your player. Therefore, my suggestion would be the regular CAT 7 (MCBC7) in the 31"/28 oz size. That bat will be well balanced and is also a little easier to swing than the CAT 7 Connect.
Ben
I'm also debating whether to purchase the CAT 7 or the CAT 7 connect. I'm 16 and I'm 5'10 and 180 lbs. I have lots of power but have hit for a very high average with balanced bats for years. What would you recommend? Ben
I don't think you could go wrong with either the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBCC7) or the regular CAT 7. Both are excellent contact hitter bats. If you do like to square up and hit for power the one-piece CAT 7 might be your better bet, but again both bats are excellent.
Jake
I'm 5'2", 125 lbs, and an all around hitter. I'm debating between the regular Cat 7 and the Cat 7 Connect. Which bat should I get? AlphaE52
Based upon your height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of getting a BBCOR bat in the 30" or 31" length. I would recommend making a decision between this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBCC7) and the regular CAT 7 based upon the feel you prefer in a bat. This CAT 7 Connect will be end-loaded in its feel while the regular CAT 7 will be more balanced in its feel. I believe you should make decision based upon which feel you prefer the most.
Ben
My son is 5'11",155 lbs and still growing. He generally hits for power. Do you recommend the CAT 7 Connect or the regular CAT 7 and in what size? DJ
Based upon your player's height and weight, my general recommendation would be to go with the 32" option of a BBCOR baseball bat (maybe consider a 33" if you want something into which he can grow). This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBCC7) will feature a slight end-load to it which is usually an attractive quality for a power hitter. The regular CAT 7 will feature more balance. I would recommend using the feel you prefer most as a guide to buying one bat over the other.
Ben
Do they make this bat in a 30" 27 oz model? Rider16
Unfortunately, the smallest size the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 is made in is a 31" 28 oz.
Jason
Is this bat balanced or end loaded? srhoads
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 is balanced, but it has a higher MOI compared to the CAT 7.
Jason
How does this bat's MOI compare to the DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR? spencer
Given that end loaded bats like the DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR have a high M.O.I., the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 will have a much lower M.O.I. since it is balanced.
Marcus
Is this bat more for a power hitter or a contact hitter? tank
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBCC7) can be used for both power hitters and contact hitters. It is a designed a little bit more to power hitters through. This is due to the Higher MOI that it has in comparison to the Cat 7. It will not necessarily be end loaded, but it will feature a less balanced design than the normal Cat 7. Power hitters prefer this.
Carter
Is this bat stiff at contact or does it flex? swrhoads
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBCC7) will offer some flex on contact.
Carter
Would this bat be a good bat for a 13 year old who is 100 pounds and 5'5" and is playing 13u baseball? Myles
For a 13 year old who is not yet in high school I would recommend checking out the -5 version of this bat, the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC75) in a 31"/26oz.
Carter
My son will be looking to use this bat for 13U and likely 14U. In that time frame, he will be doing modified baseball at 8th grade and JV as a freshman. He will also be doing travel, we expect about 60-65 games each summer. Do you think a bat like this can last the two years with all the games we plan on using the bat? We are looking at about 150 games along with practices. Fred Literal86
Yes, I believe the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBCC7) will be able to last. The New AZ4X Alloy is a very durable aluminum and is built to last.
Carter
I need to know in your opinion which of the two Cat 7's in a BBCOR would best suit my 14 yr old who is a 160 pound, 5'11" power hitter. His average Homerun with an Easton MAKO XL is about 345 feet. He has however decided to switch bats this year and is interested in the Cat 7, but wants the all aluminum version. In all my research, he being a power hitter would do better with the Connect version but he insists on regular. What's your opinion? Scott
Both the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 and the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 are great bats to consider. The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 could potentially provide a power hitter with more power potential due to the higher MOI compared to the CAT 7. The one-piece construction of the CAT 7 won't reduce vibration like the Connect but will be stiffer on impact which can help power. At the end of the day it comes down to what feels better in the player's hands as both options can help provide their fair share of power potential.
Cameron
Is the Marucci CAT 7 Connect end loaded or balanced? Groberts
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 is considered a balanced bat, but it's hybrid design does make it feel less balanced compared to other models on the market.
Jason
How does the Marucci CAT 7 Connect compare to the DeMarini CF Zen? Are both of them balanced? Matt
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBCC7) is a little bit different than the 2017 DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCBC). First off the Cat 7 is going to have an aluminum barrel while the CF Zen is going to have a composite barrel. There is not really an inherited advantage either way, it really comes down to personal preference. The CF Zen is going to be more balanced than the Cat 7 Connect. The Cat 7 is going to be a little end loaded, designed for power hitters while the CF Zen is an extremely balanced bat.

Which bat would you recommend for a sophomore that's 5'8" and is 140 lbs? He's still growing and is gap to gap hitter. The CAT 7 or CAT 7 Connect? J
Based on his height and weight I would recommend a 31 inch bat. If you'd like to go up to 32 inches for him to have room to grow, that would be an option. The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 would be a good option for a contact hitter because it is a two-piece bat.
Linsey
My son is 14 (6' and 160 lbs). He likes balanced bats. Most recently used the Portent G4. 32" (-5). He's a contact hitter, but wants more power (therefore, thinking of this end-loaded bat). He wants a 33" (I was thinking a 32"). I want the transition to be as easy as possible. What are your thoughts and did we choose the right bat for this transition? Joe
Based upon your player's height and weight, my general recommendation would be for a 33"/30 oz BBCOR bat. That size may be a little heavy starting out (especially when you add in the end-load), but I think that he will grow into that size of bat just fine with time. Overall, I think that you guys are just fine getting the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBCC7) in the 33"/30 oz size as long as you are okay with an adjustment period. That being said, if you wanted to shorten the adjustment, I would suggest the shorter and lighter 32"/29 oz size.
Ben
Does the flex on the CAT 7 Connect change that pop or is it the same as the CAT 7 Nick
No, both bats should have very similar pop.
Kyle J.
Looking for a bat for 13 yr old son. He is 5'11" and 135 lbs and still growing. This will be his first BBCOR bat. He just got the CAT 6 32/27 for travel ball and has been swinging it for a few months. Loves the weight and feel. Would he be better with CAT 7 Connect or one-piece CAT 7? Pete
Both the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 and the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 are great bats to consider as both are high performing, durable and balanced. The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 will have a lighter swing weight feel to it which can potentially allow the player to gain more bat speed and power.
Cameron
What are the differences between the two Marucci Cat 7 bats? I see that there is 100.00 difference in price. Brian
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 is a two piece half and half design and the other Marrucci CAT 7 is a one piece full alloy design.
Cooper
Would the CAT 7 Connect need breaking in and can it be used in cold weather? pk
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 can be used in cold weather and would not require a break-in process.
Cameron
I am a sophomore in high school and have been swinging the DeMarini Voodoo line for years. Would this CAT 7 Connect be a good choice for someone who isn't sure if they want to sway from one bat another? doc
This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBCC7) wouldn't be a bad choice of bat if you were wanting to try a new brand, but use a style of bat that is similar to the Voodoos of the past. This Connect features a hybrid build (alloy barrel and composite handle) and a slight end-load which is how all the Voodoos were made prior to the 2017 release.
Ben
CAT 7 Connect compared to Louisville Prime 917 (-3)? Bronco
Both this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBCC7) and the Prime 917 (-3) will be two-piece bats. However, this Cat 7 Connect will have an alloy barrel (+ composite handle) and a little bit of an end-loaded swing weight. The Prime 916 will have a composite barrel (+ composite handle) and more of a balanced swing weight.
Ben
Are there any barrel differences between this bat and the one piece CAT 7? Tim
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 and the one-piece CAT 7 will both feature the same length of barrel. The weight distribution within the barrel will vary slightly giving the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 a larger sweet spot than the one-piece CAT 7. Both bats are constructed AZ4X alloy.
Cameron
Is this a good bat for a 15 year old HS freshman? He is 5'6" and weighs 160. He is a powerful hitter. He is also looking at the 2017 VELO. Jakester
Yes, the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBCC7) is a great option for a 15 year old high school freshman. I would recommend it in a 32"/29 ounce version.
Carter
How does the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect compare to the Rawlings VELO for a power hitter? Patrick Cunneen
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 and the Rawlings VELO are both great bats to consider for a power hitter. The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 will be a hybrid bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle and will help reduce vibration more so on off-centered hits than the one-piece all alloy design of the Rawlings VELO. Since both bats are BBCOR models there is less likelihood that one bat will be able to significantly out perform the other and personal preference towards feel would be a major contributing factor.
Cameron
My son is 5'10" and 145 lbs. He is a high school freshman, that is 14.5 yrs old. What size Connect Cat 7 would you recommend? Bone
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 32" model in the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7.
Jason
I am a senior in high school. I am 5'11" and weigh about 165 lbs. I'm interested in the 33" bat but would the 32" bat be a better option for me? baseballgod
Based on your height and weight, you are right on the edge of needing a 33" size. If that is what you are interested in and feel like you can handle it, I would go with the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 in that 33" size.
Logan
My son is 13, 5'0" tall and weighs 140 lbs. He likes the Cat 7 and Cat 7 Connect. Trying to figure which bat we should get him. He is a contact hitter but needs a little more pop. Which bat and size do you recommend? Grt One
I'd probably recommend the Connect, as the two-piece design is generally preferred by contact hitters. As for size, we could recommend a 30" or 31" length of bat.
Kyle J.
I am a 5'10", 165 lb freshman. Would a 33 inch be a good size for me? Jacob
Yes, we would suggest a 32-33" length of bat.
Kyle J.
I am currently shopping for a new bat. I want a bat with a lot of pop. Any suggestions? dingerdan
Initial reviews for this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBCC7) have been great. As long as you are wanting to get a hybrid bat (alloy barrel with composite handle) with a little bit of an end-load, I would suggest this bat highly.
Ben
Which is a better bat, the Prime 917 or the CAT 7 Connect? caleb
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 and the LS Prime 917 are both great BBCOR bats to consider. These are two different bats so it really comes down to personal preference. The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 will by a hybrid design featuring a composite handle and alloy barrel with a slight end load swing weight design while the LS Prime 917 is a two-piece fully composite bat with a balanced swing weight. The Connect will not require a break-in while the Prime 917 will.
Cameron
I'm thinking about getting a new bat and I want an end loaded bat but I'm fighting between the CAT 7 Connect and the DeMarini Voodoo Insane. I want to know how these compare against each other and which one I should get, and how much does this bat flex. jensen
The amount of flex when comparing the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 and the Voodoo Insane is going to be very similar, but the Voodoo Insane would offer the end load that you are looking for, whereas the Cat 7 Connect is going to be more balanced.
Logan
The decal on the bottom of the handle which says the height and weight popped off, does this hurt the bat in anyway or make it defective? dimauro
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 would not be affected by the knob jewel coming off, and it does not make it defective.
Logan
I have the this bat and the decal on the bottom of knob that say the height and weight came off. Does this make the bat defective or hurt the bat in anyway? dimauro22
No, the decal coming off should not affect the performance of the bat at all.
Kyle J.
My 13 year old son currently uses a Cat 7 -5 bat and loves it. He is considered to be more of a contact hitter. Lately though, for certain situations like the need for a long fly ball, he will use a teammate's DeMarini CF Zen. He wants to go ahead and start swinging a -3 bat as he will be eligible for high school ball next spring. Would you recommend the Cat 7 or the Cat 7 Connect for him? He is 5'6" and 118 lbs, which length would you recommend? #19's mom
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 has more of an end loaded feel to it and it is typically a better fit for more of a power hitter. As a contact hitter the CAT 7 would be the better option because of the balanced swing weight. Based on your players height and weight, we suggest a 30" model.
Jason
My son is 13 and about to turn 14 in couple months. He is about 5'6" and 130 lbs. He is currently using the white and blue Easton s400 that feels end loaded in 31/28. He hits deep balls with power but does pop up some. Should he use the connect CAT 7 or just CAT 7? Thought about going to a 32/29 cause he growing. What would you recommend? Did not know if connect bat was as end loaded as his Easton. Motodg22
Since he is already using an end loaded bat I would recommend getting the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBCC7) in the 32"/29 ounce. It will probably not be as end loaded as the previous bat he was swinging.
Carter
Is this bat legal for little league junior. Rookie
From what I understand about the Junior Division of Little League Baseball, the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 would be legal, but it would be a pretty large bat for a player at that age.
Logan
I know the Demarini Insane and the Marucci Cat 7 Connect are completely different types of bat, but which of the two will have a lighter Swing Weight? Bill
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 will have a lighter swing weight than the 2017 DeMarini CF Insane End Load BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCIC.
Logan
What does MOI mean? Willie Doke
Although we do not know what the MOI is for the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7, this acronym stands for "Moment of Inertia."
Cameron
What is the life of this bat? caleb
Unfortunately, it is tough to say what the lifespan of any bat will be as there are too many different factors that can go into that. The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 tends to be a very durable bat, but if it were to become defective it is covered under a one year warranty with Marucci.
Jason
What is the difference between the CAT 7 and the DeMarini RAW? joey bats
Both the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 and the DeMarini RAW are/were two-piece hybrid bats featuring an alloy barrel, composite handle and an end-loaded swing weight design. Although these two bats will feature different alloy they will be similar in terms of swing weight feel and performance capabilities.
Cameron
I am 14 years old, 5'1" and 95 lbs. Would this bat be a good bat for me? speedy petey
This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBCC7) will be a pretty end-loaded bat. It may be a little heavy for use by yourself. I might recommend going with the regular CAT 7 BBCOR bat (MCBC7) in the 30"/27 oz size if you needed a BBCOR bat as it will be light swinging and more balanced in its feel.
Ben
I am 14, 5'11 nearly 6 foot, and 163 Ibs. Would this be a good bat for me and if so what size? Dinger Nation
Given your size I would recommend a 33'' 30 oz in the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7.
Max
My son is 5'5" and weighs 145 pounds. Contact hitter. But can also hit the deep ball now and then. He currently uses the VELO. The reviews are mixed. Some say its balanced. some say its end loaded. Would you recommend this bat? And what size? Chuck
Based on your sons height and weight we would probably recommend the 32"/29 ounce 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) which is going to be a balanced option.
Carter
My son is 10 years old, 100 lbs, and 5 foot. Would this bat be good for him and what size? Laura
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 is a bat designed for high school and college players and thus we would not recommend this bat for a 10 year old. Based on your player's height and weight, as well as age, we would recommend getting a 30 inch and 20 ounce bat.
Cameron
What bat length should I use if I'm 5'10" 170 lbs.? Jaybant
Based on your height and weight, I would suggest a 33" 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7.
Logan
My son is 13 years old, 5'2 1/2" 110 lbs. He needs to get a BBCOR bat. What would you recommend, plus what size would you recommend? He is a contact hitter, but is beginning to hit home runs. Ken
Based on what you have told us about your son I would recommend the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBCC7) in the 31"/28 ounce size.
Carter
I'm 5'9 140, but like end loaded more. What size should I get? duf
For the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7, I would suggest a 32" 29 ounce based on your height and weight.
Logan
My son is 5'3" and 190 pounds. He's a big boy. What size would you recommend? And if I hit the ball right on on the sweet spot on this bat and the Posey pro metal which would go farther if I had the same swing speed on both? dbg
We would suggest a 32" or 33" bat for his size. The 'pop' should be very similar, as BBCOR bats are tightly regulated to not exceed a specific limit of performance.
Kyle J.
I am a sophomore, 5'6.5, 138 pounds and have been swinging a 5150 32" -3. I am thinking about getting the Cat 7 or Cat 7 Connect 33." What would be preferred? Anthony
One wouldn't be better than the other, it would just ultimately come down to whether you prefer one-piece or two-piece bats. Since you've used a one-piece alloy bat most recently, you may be a bit more comfortable with the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7.
Logan
I am a 14 year old eighth grader. I'm 5'6, 130 lbs. I'm using a -5 Combat Vigor and my friend's Easton XL1 32 -5. I have to get a BBCOR and I don't know what size to get or what bat to get. Peter Costanza
With the change to BBCOR, which came about in 2010, the bats were lined with thicker barrel walls and thus the performance is more similar to that of a wood bat. The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 is a great option for someone seeking a hybrid bat (alloy barrel and composite handle) with a slightly end-loaded swing weight distribution. This would feature a swing more similar to that of the Easton XL1 you have used previously. If you are seeking more of a balanced bat like that of the COMBAT Vigor then the Marucci CAT 7 would be the bat for you. Based on your height, weight and age you might want to get a 31 inch BBCOR.
Cameron
I'm 5'10" and weigh 150 lbs. I've used a single piece almost all of my life, but I'm kind of stuck in between a power hitter and a contact hitter. Should I get this bat or the single piece? tay
Either bat, the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 or the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7, would work well for a contact hitter. However, the one piece Cat 7 is a bit more balanced than the Cat 7 Connect, so it may be a bit better for you.
Logan
Can I use my CAT 7 connect in cold weather? Kyle
You can use the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7, although we do not advise doing so. With cold weather comes a harder, denser baseball. The harder that ball becomes, the more likely you are to dent (or crack in the case of composite) your bat.
Tyler
I am a little confused. I am getting mixed messages. Is the Connect bat a better bat for a contact or power hitter? My son is 13 yrs old, 5"7 and 120 lbs. Just started to grow. He hits a 32/-5 CAT 7 now. He also is a contact and power hitter at times. Needing to buy a -3 bat. What would be the advantage switching to the connect? Is the 32 inch the best length? Mike
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 is going to be slightly end loaded which is ideal for a power hitter. It really just comes down to the players personal preference. Based on his height and weight we would probably recommend a 31"/28 ounce for him.
Carter

I am 5"11 145 lbs 12 years old, and I have been using two piece bat. Will this bat feel noticable different compared to a full composite two piece? Also what size bat should I use? Samuel

Kyle J.

Kyle J.

Is this bat too heavy for a 5’7", 120 lb freshman who usually swings a 31 inch end-loaded bat but usually hits for base hits? Could you compare the amount of end loaded/feel of the bat to another bat so that I could get an idea of if it is too end loaded for me? jw
The Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 could certainly be used by a player that is 5'7" and 120 lbs. How the swing weight of the bat feels is more up to the individual player and their opinion. This bat will not likely feel top heavy or end-loaded to most that use it.
Cameron
Could you get a 32? Blake Springer

14 yr old son that is 5'6" 140 lbs and is currently swinging a 31/28 Easton Ghost. We need to replace his bat and thinking about the CAT 7. What would you recommend? He is normally a cleanup batter. Marsha
The Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 is an excellent hybrid bat (alloy barrel and composite handle) to consider. Although this bat is not a two-piece composite like the Easton Ghost X, the swing weight feel and performance would work well for a middle of the lineup hitter.
Cameron
What is the difference between the Cat 7 and the Cat 8? Connor
The biggest difference is the alloy used between the models. The Marucci CAT 8 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC8 features the AZ105 alloy, the strongest aluminum on the Marucci line. Allows for thinner barrel walls, a higher response rate and better durability. They are both great options.
Daveron
