I bought my daughter a ghost in August. It cracked I sent it back and received another bad that is now cracked. My daughter has trouble with the sting due to an injury to her arm a year ago. She does fine with proper technique, but any mistake is amplified into the area of injury. She’s 9 and unable to have further corrective surgery until older due to risk. My question is would this Ghost bat alleviate a good portion of sting that shows up on a one-piece, all-aluminum bat? During a high school playoff game I found a version of the FP18GH11 with ISA, NSA and USSSA marks but not the ASA mark from USA Softball (USAS). As it was before the game I simply removed it from the dugout. Is the version produced with the USSSA logo but not the ASA logo now allowed by USAS? Based on a Q&A it appears there was a slight alteration to make it USSSA eligible which would nullify the USAS mark until it was re-certified. This is a very big deal. Under NFHS (High School) rules that follow the USA Softball rules as written, this bat is not eligible for any High School or USA Softball Championship play. The NFHS wording says a bat must have the ASA 2000 or ASA 2004 logo (the 2013 is for slow pitch/adult FP only). It also lists bats that HAVE the logo but are not allowed. But there is no wording that allows a bat to be legal for *high school* play without the ASA logo. Why is this a big deal? Under NFHS rules revised in 2017, umpires no longer pre-inspect bats in HS. Coaches certify their bats meet all specifications. The penalty for a batter entering the batter's box with a non-approved bat is an illegal equipment violation: Ejection of the player AND the head coach. It is the most severe penalty in softball short of a forfeit, so this is important to get correct. Do you have documentation from USA Softball or the NFHS that says the FP18GH11 without the ASA logo is approved for USA Softball Championship play? Chris W.

The barrel seems really short. I have seen it in stores and compared it to other bats. Does this make it harder to hit, say for a 9 year old? I was comparing 28", -11's to other bats with longer barrel areas. Chris Smith
