Great bat to increase bat speed. Ethan99 parent

Pros: Light. Balanced. Awesome pop. Good sound. Big sweet spot. My 9 year old hit the 200' fence with this bat during BP. Much easier for him to get it around and pull the ball on an inside pitch. He struggled with starting too late so the light feel is helping him.

Cons: As expected, some vibration when mishit, but a lot less than other one-piece bats. We installed a choke up ring on his bat and that helped a lot with minimizing the vibration.

Cons: small sweet spot and very tapered barrel. If you mishit it, the vibration can be pretty bad. Bought this for my 9U and the smaller barrel is tougher to hit solid every time.

Pros: My son plays 11U travel and when he makes contact in the sweet spot of the barrel the ball pops right off! He makes contact every time. It is expensive but you get what you pay for. Great Bat!

Cons: Very little vibration, hope they come out with more color schemes.

Pros: when i'm hitting with this bat i love how its light so when i hit the ball it goes flying i have hit 4 triples with this bat because of how light it is when i barrel it up the ball goes soaring over the left fielders head off the fence i love this bat i really recommend this bat

Pros: My sons hitting has improved so much with this bat. He is hitting a lot further now. He plays on a 7u travel team.

Cons: Took awhile for him to get adjusted to the weight at the end. He kept dropping his swing.

Pros: This bat is a well balanced bat that provides a nice smooth and powerful swing, the break in process for us is not an issue, less than a week and we were seeing the results. We stepped up from an Easton Speed to this bat and the pop coming off this bat gives an easy 25% increase on distance from the Speed.

Cons: Initially, my son loved this bat. I'm not sure if it was because it was a new bat and he fought through the vibration, but the more and more we hit with the Ghost, the worse the sting seems to get. Every 4-5 hits, he has to take a break so he can properly grip the bat. We have put the ghost up and are back to the Easton Speed until we find another bat.

Cons: Just bats got the bat to me for my son in 2 days. Great!! The end cap cracked on the 3rd game he had it. Have to return it to Easton company. Takes 1 to 3 days to get a return Auth. # Then you have to pay to have it shipped back. Cost $21.00 to have it shipped in 6 days. Then once Easton gets the bat and determines if it will be covered. They will ship out a new bat in 10 - 14 days. We will miss a 1/3 of the season. Not good!!!!!

Cons: need to have a super fast and hard swing to generate any sort of distance. not a good bat imo. my son hits fine with DeMarini's and Marucci's and some Rawlings. maybe 1/5 of the hits are solid with this bat. maybe the sweet spot is small; or maybe it has to be really broken in - no idea. it seemed to perform the best out all the bats we tried in Dick's Sporting Goods batting cage with computer results. however, I would say too much money for bang for the buck for sure.

The 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL18GXHL12) is a great bat. However, it will not be certified for little league. The SL16GXHL12 is USSSA certified, but not USA certified. Little league requires a USA certified bat.

Now that travel ball leagues, USSSA, and Little League, Dixie, Pony, etc. have gone to two different certifications with regards to big barrel bats the trend with USSSA is 2 3/4" barrel diameter.

One that is 11 years of age could benefit from this bat if they are on the smaller side. As for as how to decide on the weight, this is going to come down to age and what bat they are currently using and how well they are handling the weight of this bat. Typically, for players 11-12 years of age a -10 bat is best, -8 for a 7th grader and -5 for an 8th grader. One always should swing the heaviest bat possible that will not negatively impact bat speed or swing plane. Going lighter can help improve bat speed but can have a negative effect in terms of durability and distance in stronger players; too light and there is no weight to throw into the baseball.

My son is 9 and weighs 60 pounds. His USA bat is longer but he chokes up between 2-3 inches. This is his first year of travel and looking to get a fast bat to build on confidence, so I got a 27-15oz. I would consider the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GXHL12 in a 28/16 or 29/17. I think going from a 29/18 to a 27/15 is too big of a jump. I would recommend only going down an inch and an ounce and that will be of enough benefit to increase his bat speed.

The 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GXHL12 is going to be very similar in performance to the three bats that you have listed. It will be a pretty different feel in comparison to the Easton Beast and the CF Zen due to it being a one piece design and those bats featuring a two piece design. The one piece design on the Louisville Slugger Solo and the Easton Ghost X Hyperlight will be a stiffer feel. All of the bats mentioned will be similar in performance.

With composite bats, like this 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL18GXHL12), we always recommend a break-in period. On the first day of use, I would suggest taking roughly 100-150 swings off a tee, rotating the barrel a 1/4" every 15-20 swings. On the second day of use, I would recommend hitting soft tosses again, rotating the barrel every few swings. After doing this, the composite bat should be broken in!

My son just made the transition from little league to travel ball. He was swinging 28"/18 oz bat for coach pitch. I see him struggling at the plate catching up to the balls at times and was wondering if I should get this bat in a 28"/16 oz or 27"/15 oz? I would probably stay with a 28"/18 oz model. The 2 oz difference should help a fair bit, however only you would have the best guess since we have never seen him actually swing. A 27"/15 oz seems rather small for a player his age however, and would not be recommended unless he was about 4'2" or shorter.
