2018 Louisville LXT 33/23 Lummer coach

Pros: My daughter plays 16u (5'7", 130lbs) and has owned Easton bats the past 3 years (lates was a Stealth Flex). She has also tried our team Demarini CFX Balanced. Being an Easton fan, she was reluctant to buy this bat..but has no regrets. Best bat she has ever used! Balanced with lots of power - she hits line drives over the fence. Great pop out of the wrapper but more pop now with ~200 swings. I reviewed bats on this site before we bought it. Great site!

Make it easy...Go LXT Daniel Shareck parent

Pros: This bat is balanced better than any bat my 14 year old daughter has tried. She has tried most of the elite / top bats but keeps coming back to LXT. Great pop and feel. Rarely strikouts out. Bat durability is good but we dont use it for practice.

Cons: Other brands like Demarini have better graphics but graphics never help with hits.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A10? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

What is the difference between the Louisville LXT and the PXT ? bat differences
The PXT will differ from this 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTLFPLX18A10) as the PXT will require some sufficient break-in time before showing top performance (LXT is hot out of wrapper). The PXT will feature a little more barrel weight than the LXT (you could call the PXT more of a "power hitter" bat). As well, the PXT will have more of a true composite sound.
Ben

The 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A10 is considered a balanced bat and it is not end loaded. It has similar balance to some of the DeMarini CF bats.

This is my first Louisville Slugger bat. Is the texture on the barrel normal? Just making sure I didn't receive a deformed bat. Stacie
The 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A10 features a "sand paper" type feel on the barrel. This is completely normal.
Cameron

We can ship items same day if they are purchased before 8pm CST Mon-Fri, or 4pm CST on Saturdays. The free Standard Ground Shipping option is guaranteed within 5 business days, but typically takes 3-4 to most locations. Saturday and Sunday are not counted as business days for UPS standards.

Do -11 have less pop then -10? lslxt
No, the 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A10 will not have more pop than the -11 option. You will want to size your player up based off strength to figure out which drop weight is the best fit.
Dan
Do I need to break in the bat? If so, how do I do it? Ryan
The 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A10 would benefit from a break in period since it is a fully composite bat. The best way to complete the break in is by taking 150-200 swings off a tee or soft toss, and rotating the bat in-between swings for an even break in around the barrel.
Logan
What is the difference between the ultra balanced and just balanced bat when talking about the PXT and the LXT bat? georgia
The 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A10 is the most balanced bat in Louisville Slugger's lineup for fastpitch softball, while the 2018 Louisville Slugger PXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPPX18A10 is going to "power balanced" which is just a term Slugger uses to mean end loaded.
Logan
Why are the -10 models drastically discounted recently? Was this bat de-certified? Sam
The 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A10 recently dropped in price as LS has released these bats from their MAP pricing. Essentially, there will be a newer version of this bat released by LS in the next 4-8 weeks; this bat has not been de-certified.
Cameron
My daughter is currently using a 2016 Xeno -10. I am considering the '18 LXT for next season. Could you compare the two, how the performance may differ? sftbl dad
The 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A10 will now incorporate a new Ultra Lightweight X-Cap and should have a slightly larger sweet spot. The overall swing weight of the 2018 version should swing lighter than the 2016 model, but performance will be quite similar.
Tyler
Is this bat ok to use in cold temp.? pappy
The 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A10 is a fully composite bat. With composite barrels, you want to limit their use in weather below 55 degrees as much as possible. It can still be used; however, we suggest only your player to use it and for in game only. This will help limit the possibility of damage due to temperature.
Daveron
Is this bat approved for Little League? jr
The 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTLFPLX18A10) will feature USSSA, ASA, NSA, ISA, and ISF certifications. This bat is approved for Little League Softball.
Taylor
Whats the difference between the 2018 LXT and the 2018 PXT? Doug
The biggest differences are that the LXT has a more balanced swing weight, while the PXT will feel slightly more end-loaded. The PXT also uses Louisville's PWR STAX barrel technology to help improve barrel performance all across the length of the barrel.
Kyle J.
How does the LXT compare with the XENO? Which is better? brad
The 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A10 will have more of a flex feel at the point of contact. Both the XENO and the 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A10 are great options, but the LXT will have more of a whip to the swing.
Max
the bat seems to have a rough finish is this normal steve
The rough finish to the barrel was technology Louisville Slugger started to incorporate to allow the bat to "grip" the ball on contact. It will be normal for the Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A10 but you likely will not see it on too many other fastpitch models.
Tyler
Which has more pop, this model or the Hyper? Jackie
The standard Louisville Slugger LXT should provide a bit better feedback and be a bit more suited for a power hitter than the LXT Hyper model.
Kyle J.
What is the difference between the 2018 and 2019 LXT? Ralph
Structurally, the Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTLFPLX18A10) and Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTLFPLX19A10) will be very similar. The main difference, other than color, will be that the 2019 model has an updated connection point (VCX Technology) that is designed to let the barrel and the handle move independently.
Taylor

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
