Cracked it in 4 days Sam Fitzpatrick parent

Pros: Seemed to have good pop, nice balance.

Cons: Broke it in 4 days. My son is 11yrs old, only weighs 80 lbs. He is not a power hitter. The first 100 balls he hit were light check swings and he made sure to rotate the bat to break it in. The next day he hit another bucket of balls with a 50% swing just doing soft toss, again not swinging hard. Today he took 10 "regular" swings and broke it.

Marucci Hex Composite MSBYC1410 Chris coach

Pros: My son has been using Marucci bats for 5 years now and this by far has the best pop off the barrel. He likes the well balanced bats over end loaded. He's been so successful with Marucci bats that half the team is using them.

Cons: My son is 12 and has broken 2 bats in less than 5 months. First bat 30/20 2 3/4 cracked within 3 weeks, sent back to Marucci. Replaced with 31/21 2 5/8, he's had this bat for just over 3 months and has 2 cracks that are an issue. It's a good bat with amazing pop and feel but the Durability is poor.

Coach Chris coach

Pros: My 12 year old has been using Marucci bats for the past 4 seasons. He likes the way the bats feel and how balanced the bats are. Right out of the box the Hex Composite was great, the ball flew off the bat. Because he was having success with the bat half the team purchased it. But the Hex Composite bat has a durability issue. He has cracked 3 bats in less than 5 months and now onto #4 after a weeks use.

Cons: The Hex composite bat has a durability issue, if your son is a power hitter be aware you might be replacing this bat several times. I had to purchase a new bat for the last tournament of the season and with the first hit it cracked. By the time we finished the week long tournament the bat had 3 cracks.

Dinger Dinger Chicken Dinner Hulk Hogan's Body Guarad parent

Pros: The bat swings extremely balanced, and doesn't feel heavy for a drop 10. The pop off the bat after a normal break-process of a couple hundred hits. I was worried the 2 5/8" barrel would be a disadvantage VS a 2 3/4" but the more balanced nature of this bat more than makes up for the slight difference in barrel thickness. Highly recommended!

Cons: None so far, we'll see how it holds up over time.

Awesome bat Charles Bingham player

Pros: This bat looks amazing in person. I started hitting with it and my hitting improved a lot. This bat is light, a huge sweet spot, nice grip, it has a ton of pop. This bat also is very durable. I highly recommend this bat. When you are hitting with it makes an amazing sound. It also doesn't sting your hands at all. You need to get this bat if you want to start hitting bombs.

Cons: It does get pretty dirty because it is a black bat.

Great pop...until it eventually cracks. John N. parent

Pros: It definitely has some pop. My son hit this further than any other bat.

Cons: It took about 5 games and a few lessons to crack it. I wish I had looked at some of the other reviews before buying. A bat like this shouldn't be so fragile, regardless if it's at a great price or not.

First bat I've felt compelled to write a review... Scott parent

Pros: This bat started performing well on the first hit. My 11 y/o was ecstatic after the first practice session. We have always been a fan of Combats, but one of the kids on my son's 12U USSSA team allowed him to use his Marucci before we bought this bat. We wanted the Cat 7, but I was hesitant to spend the money since I wasn't sure about switching brands. I think the Cat 7 will be in our quiver next season.

Cons: Not sure about the durability since we've only had it for one day, but all other areas are five stars.

Good Bat, Great Customer Service RS coach

Pros: Great Pop and feel, I have several 10 year olds that love this bat. Very easy on the hands and has a great look. One of the best warranties on the market, if the bat fails, Marucci will make it right!!

Cons: Bats are bad about cracking with extensive use, but they will send you a new one within a week.

My 6 year old is currently swinging an Easton S500; it's a 2 1/4" barrel, 28" & 15 oz. He is starting travel ball. Do you think this bat pack will work for him if I get a 27"/17 oz in the Slugger and Marucci? tony
This bat pack could be a potential fit for your son; it really all comes down to how he is currently handling his Easton S500. When going up in weight, we recommend no more than a 1-2 ounce increase. For further questions regarding possible bat/weight sizes, would recommend looking into our bat coach feature: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Cameron
How should I break in this bat? Ralph
In order to break in the Marucci Hex Composite Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBYC1410) we recommend 150-200 hits off of a tee or through soft toss while rotating the barrel every few hits to ensure even coverage throughout the barrel.
Jake
Which bat is more balanced, the Hex or the Louisville 516? JW
Both the Marucci Hex Composite Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBYC1410 and the 2016 Louisville Slugger Omaha 516 Senior League Baseball Bat: SLO5160 are going to be very balanced bats. I would not say that one is more balanced than the other.
Carter
Is this a big barrel bat? landens mom
Yes, this Marucci Hex Composite Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBYC1410) will feature a 2 5/8" barrel diameter on it. That barrel diameter will be considered "big barrel". (however, it won't have the biggest barrel diameter; the biggest barrel diameters available will be at 2 3/4").
Ben
How does this bat compare to the Easton Mako? Joe
This Marucci Hex Composite Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBYC1410) will feature an all-composite design and a 2 5/8" barrel diameter like the Easton MAKO (SL16MK10), but while the MAKO is a two-piece bat, this Marucci Hex is a one-piece bat. Due to that design, this Hex will feature more stiffness at contact when compared to the MAKO (MAKO features a considerable amount of barrel flex at contact). Neither design is inherently more advantageous, it just comes down to the preferences of your player.
Ben
Would this bat be allowed in Pony League play? Jodi
This Marucci Hex Composite Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBYC1410) should be allowed for use in the following divisions of Pony Baseball: (Shetland, Pinto, Mustang, Bronco and Pony).

Ben
My son is 8 and is 4'11" and 105 pounds. He has been using a 29" and 19 oz for the past 18 months with good bat speed. Do you think going to a 31" and 21 oz would be a good choice? Darren

Tori
Will hitting dimpled baseballs used at the local batting cage void the warranty of this bat? Nephets Cramtarb
Hitting dimple balls will not void the warranty of the Marucci Hex Composite Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBYC1410 but we would not recommend it. The reason is the dimple balls used at the batting cages are not the same weight consistency as a baseball and can cause the bat to dent or crack much easier and quicker. Would recommend using a practice bat or something that is not your game bat.
Cameron
My grandson is about 5'1" and 85 lbs and is going to be 13 in March. Is this the proper bat for him? Pat
Yes, the Marucci Hex Composite Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBYC1410) is the proper bat for him. We would recommend it in the 30"/20 ounce version of this bat.
Carter
My 13 year old son plays club ball for a 13U team. I wanted to know if this bat is illegal? jason
This Marucci Hex Composite Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBYC1410) would be legal for use by a 13 year old travel ball player. However, I would not suggest this bat for use. The reason is because I don't think swinging a bat with a -10 length-to-weight ratio will benefit your 13 year old player very much. For a player of that age, I would generally suggest a bat with a -8 or -5 length-to-weight ratio (those sizes of bats will prepare your player for the -3 BBCOR bats that will be required in high school). A solid Marucci bat with a -8 length to-weight ratio is the following: 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBYC78).
Ben
Is this approved for Pony baseball? susan
This Marucci Hex Composite Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBYC1410) should be allowed for use in the following divisions of Pony Baseball: (Shetland, Pinto, Mustang, Bronco and Pony).
Sean
I'm 5'6" and 95 pounds. Should I have a 31 or 32 inch bat? ben
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the Marucci Hex Composite Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBYC1410 in a 31 inch model.
Cameron

How would you compare this bat to the hex alloy senior league with performance? i have a 6 yo who uses the S3 Easton 26 in drop 10. Hes more advanced in repect to hitting than most kids his age. hes 51 pounds and 46 in ht. thanks JBA
You would see similar performance between the Marucci Hex Composite Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBYC1410 and the Marucci Hex Alloy. The main difference between the two is that the Composite will feature a bit larger sweet spot than the Alloy, and the Composite will also require some break in before it performs to its full potential.
